I am trying to print to PDF from Word, Revit, Firefox and all have given me a Access Denied window popup and would cancel the print. I have Adobe Acrobat X and Creative Design Suite 6.
So you are trying to print to the Adobe PDF printer? What is the full statement of the error (typically it indicates a folder or such does not allow access)? If you open Distiller, are there settings files available that you can view?
In the print menu, select print to file. Then open this file in Distiller. What happens with these two steps and do you get a PDF after the second step? -

Is it possible to access the Windows 2003 guest VM from the VM Server?
Hi,
I have only one physical machine. I install VM server and VM Manager (using the VM Manager template) on the same physical machine. Then I create aa guest VM for Windows Server 2003. Can I run Windows Server 2003 in GUI mode like guest VM using VMWare Workstation? This setup is strictly for learning and I don't want to get another PC in order to access Windows 2003. If it is possibl, what other software must I install on the VM Server (Dom0) in order to for this to work?
Thanks for your assistance.

Deployed new Windows 2008 R2 domain controller, added print and document controll. Added several network printers on R2 server. We currently have mostly Vista biz clients but half a dozen W7Pro clients also. The Vista clients connect to these new network
printers, no problem but none of the W7 clients will connect. I select the printer from the drop down directory list and select to load the drivers, the system starts loading drivers and then right before it finishes it stops with error message, "Windows cannot
connect to the printer. Access denied. Again, this happens only with the W7 clients on our domain, Vista works fine.By default, the security settings for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 allow users who are not members of the local
Administrators group to install only trustworthy printer drivers, such as those provided with Windows or in digitally signed printer-driver packages. You may want to install printer-driver packages on the print server
or in the clients. More details can be found this page: Cannot

Clean Access and Windows 2003 Server
I am trying to install the Clean Access Client on a VM running Windows 2003 Server. When I connect to our customer's network the VPN client appears to connect properly and I see the Clean Access window. Then it all seems to fall over. My customer tells me I should see a blue window with a red OK button on it but I never see it. As a result I never get completely into the network. Is this because I am running this on Windows 2003 Server or should I be looking at something else? Can this run in a Virtual Environment and on 2003 Server?
I work it out partially by myself:

Accessing a Windows 2003 Server
Hi; this question may have been dealt with already but I'm new here so please indulge me a bit. My office network runs on windows 2003 file server but I just got myself a MacBook Pro. I can see the file server but can't access it. I have MS Office for Mac 2004 installed (Student edition)
Should it be possible for me to access files on a file server that runs on windows 2003 server? If yes, what do I need to do on either my Mac or ask the admin to do on the server?
CheersI'm also running several Macs on a Windows Small Business Server (Windows Server 2003) and the only way I am able to pull up the files was to join each one of my Macs to the Windows Server's network domain. You have to do this through the Directory Utility in the Utilities folder. There is one draw back from what I can tell, and it's something that I need some help with. It seems that once a Mac (running Leopard) is joined to a Windows domain, it takes the log in process forever to finish. Logging into a Leopard Mac alone is pretty quick, but after joining the domain, logging into any of the Macs on the Windows domain takes over a minute. If anyone knows the answer to this one, I'm all ears.

Could not access to Windows 2003 DC. Servers resources.
Hi, I got only 1 PowerBoob G4(Max OS X Tiger 10.4.5)in WindowsSBS 2K3 domain. At PowerBook, I can see all servers, computers on the domain and other workgroup. I also can signon and access to domain computer member (by domain member account) and workgroup Windows 2003 server resources (by this server user account). But the main thing that Windows SBS and Std 2K3 DC. domain servers, this PowerBook could not log on to connect with common error:"The alias 'servername' could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found". The PowerBook get DHCP IP from SBS DHCP and get out to internet. No problem for me to ping from PowerBook to domain servers address, and its even resolve the right server name.
Would you help and give me any guide I can fix this.
Thanks and Regards,
TonyHi Brian,
I found out on the link: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20030922153448490
and do the disable both Microsoft Network Server: Digitally Sign Communications (always) and (if client agrees)will fix this case.
Also by Microsoft support, after above step, check and make sure the value of the fowllowing keys is all set to '0' on the SBS Server:

Slow connection with OS X 10.7 while trying to access a Windows 2003 server
Good afternoon:
I am a systems engineer in an enterprise environment that is now deploying Macs and I have been finding that the Macs have a very slow connection to the Windows 2003 server; even after installing all necessry components.
All of the Macs access network services via Active Directory
The issue is the connection speed when trying to access folders on the servers.
Does anyone have any ideas as to speed up this connectivity issue?Did you resolve this issue? Any links to anwers to this?
thank you. -
Every time I try to reinstall the bluetooth adapter its shows it copying the driver to the drivers folder in the animation but it stops and says access is denied.
This is kind of annoying because I now have no right click and cant use bluetooth to install my mighty mouse anymore.

As of last week, our Windows 7 Pro workstations can not map or browse the Windows 2008 Server shares. They can ping the Windows 2008 server. The Windows 7 Pro machines can still access the Windows 2003 Server Shares. The older workstations running Windows
XP can still map to the both the Windows 2003 & Windows 2008 Servers. All the servers can browse to each others shared folders (2 windows 2003 server & 1 windows 2008 server).Ok, now you're down to network or permissions issues. An unedited ipconfig /all
of server and problem workstation may help. You could also try setting up some auditing.

Cannot establish a link between MacPro and Windows 2003 Server
I just had an issue where we had a server crash. This server supports several PCs, as well as two Macs. The server has been brought back online and can communicate with all of the PCs. However, neither one of the Macs can now communicate with the server.
When I try to connect through the sidebar in the finder window, it will bring up the authentication window. But after I type in my password and hit enter, it gives me the message, "The alias "" could not be opened because the original item could not be found."
When I try to connect through Go>Connect to Server, it gives me the message, "The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "" could not be read or written (Error code -36).
My IT guy says that everything is alright with the server and that the problem has to be in the Mac settings. He does not know anything about Macs, however.
Can somebody help me out with this issue? The only thing that comes to mind is a few settings in the Security Options of the Local Policy. Here's a link:

Not sure if that's it, but I hope it helps. -
Managing event viewer remotely in windows 2003
Same user is configured as administrator on all the servers in one domain at windows 2003 server. However, the account is not
the domain admin. Can security logs be managed or cleared remotely from any of these servers? Will this require any specific configuration?
dhomyaHi,
So you want to give Non-Administrator users access remotely to Event logs if the Servers or DomainControllers they are accessing are Windows 2003?
If yes, i think you could refer to:

Internal failure 0x80040707 access denied
Sorry to bring up an old topic problem, but the search turns up posts dating back to 2004 and the links do not work. Anyway...
I get an "internal failure 0x80040707 access denied" upon loading iTunes and QuickTime after the required reboot either with the CD or with the downloaded versions from the web.
I did not connect the Ipod to the computer until after the software was installed.
I have tried all the below with Norton Antivirus disabled:
1) upgraded XP Pro from SP1 to SP2.
2) installed and uninstalled iTunes and QuickTime many, many, many, many times, using the uninstaller and the Windows Install Clean Up downloaded from
http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108322
and using task manager to remove remnants (qttask.exe, ip*, qt*).
3) followed the instructions at
http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108167
there were no problems with the registry.
4) installed only the iPod updater and not installed iTunes and QuickTme from the CD (nothing works, but I still get the error message on reboot.
5) deleted the folder containing iPod and QuickTime after an unsuccessful install.
iTunes runs after the reboot, but in preferences it says no iPod is connected when it is connected. The iPod when connected to the 'puter says "Do not disconnect" with a spinning "sun" in the upper left hand corner. The do not disconnect never goes away, even after leaving it alone overnight.
Windows knows the Ipod is connected to a USB port and says it is "working normally."
QuickTime will play "stuff."
I spent 40 minutes on the phone with Best Buy who said to call Apple. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with Apple who said call Dell. I Spent 15 minutes on a chat with a Dell tech who ended the conversation with out giving me any help (was goin' home time for him).
I've probably got about 30 hours into this and my kid is wondering when her iPod will work.
Any advice or pointers?
Thanks for any suggestions!!!
Jim
dell Windows XP Pro 4300sKatrina,
Maybe this?
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=135
1909?
I don't know how to do this as the message occurs when I reboot and before my desktop icons are loaded. The first window that appears is the InstallShield completing the software load, I guess. Then the "internal failure error 0x80040707" window appears. At that point my only choice is to click "OK" or "X" on the Internal falure window. After that disappears the "access denied" window pops up. The Taskbar is not loaded either.
Or you can make sure your music files are backed up
and in a safe place, and go through your PC and
remove anything that says Apple on it. In both
Windows Explorer & the registry.
Then reinstall iTunes, QT and the iPod updater?
Also, just curious, you said you installed the iPod
updater, but did you also run the updater with the
iPod attached and actually update the iPod?
No. The updater window appears and the initializing message never goes away (the iPod is connected with the "do not disconnect" messge displayed.
Thanks for your help!!
