RSRQ /RSMO/RSKC/SM50

Hello Gurus,
will you please what RSRQ /RSMO/RSKC/SM50 do?
Many thanks,
Frank Zhang

RSRQ : Data load for monitor for single request, gives the status of any load depending on its requset number.
RSMO: it is the whole monitor for all the loads in BI system(from source and also from BI to BI) and gives 3 status's i.e completed , incorrect and running(not yet completed)
RSKC: Special permitted characteristics.(u can maintain any permitted characteristics here that u want to allow into BI)
SM50:Process overview, takes u the application server.(gives u status of all the dialog, backgroung processes).

  • Question on Special Character RSKC

    Hey guys,
I wonder if you guys can help, our load keep getting special character (line break) which display as square. And just got to know that nothing is stopping out clients from putting in chinese, german or even russian characters into the text box of your source system.
So I was wondering how do I allow to accept such wide range of special characters in RSKC or can i just switch RSKC off?

    Hi,
I think you are facing an invalid character issue.
This issue can be resolved by correcting the error records in PSA and updating it into the target. For that the first step should be to identify if all the records are there in PSA. You can find out this from checking the Details tab in RSMO, Job log , PSA > sorting records based on status, etc. Once its confirmed force the request to red and delete the particular request from the target cube. Then go to PSA and edit the incorrect records (correcting or blanking out the invalid entries for particular field InfoObject for the incorrect record) and save it. Once all the incorrect records are edited go to RSA1>PSA find the particular request and update to target manually (right click on PSA request > Start update immediately).
I will add the step by step procedure to edit PSA data and update into target (request based).
    Steps
    1. Force the request to red in RSMO > Status tab.
    2. Delete the request from target.
    3. Come to RSMO > top right you can see PSA maintenace button > click and go to PSA .
    4.Edit the record
    5. Save PSA data.
    6. Got to RSA15 > Search by request name > Right click > update the request from PSA to target.
This should solve your problem for now.
As a long term you can apply some user exit in source system side or change your update rules to ensure that this field is getting blanked out before getting loaded in cube or add that particular char to permitted character list in BW (Run TCODE RSKC
Input the <character> and execute the program) This will add <character> to the allowed characters list.

  • Is it possible to include t-code information in tx SM50 (Process Overview)?

    Hello, folks!
I'm the Basis guy responsible for monitoring SAP system activities at the company I work for, and one of the main tools I use to do this task is transaction SM50 (Process Overview), which give us some valuable informations, but one very important and missing info is the transaction code that started the corresponding process, as transaction code is the most known form for both technical staff and end-users to determine what is being done in the system.
I asked our ABAP team to develop a custom ZSM50, but they're struggling to find a way to include this information, so we would like to ask for help, if any of you knows a way or a hint on how to do it, please inform us, and we would be very grateful.
    Thanks in advance,
    Reginaldo O. Andrade
    SAP Basis Support

I don't think you can rely on a 1:1 relation from process to transaction code, the programs that you see active in SM50 could be started by background jobs, asynchronous RFC and probably many other techniques that would not allow a 1:1 relation to a transaction.
Not 100% reliable, so not really possible, in my opinion.

  • How to find the details of the BPC process running in SM37 and SM50

We had BPC performance issues and noticed that there are some process or batch jobs that are kicked from BPC that runs longer and kind of hanging.  SM37 and SM50 provides some information like job name, how long it is running.  Job name is kind of cryptic and the user name is always BPC_SYSADMIN and not able to get any additional information.  Is there a way to find more details about the job/process that is running  (whether it is a input template and which input template, whether it is a DM package and which package, whether it a report/EVDRE and which one etc.  Plus the BPC user name)?
Couple of times, the user received the error message u201CSystem error: -2146697205u201D after it ran for a while.

You can distinguish between reports and DM Packages easily: reports/IS run in DIA process while DM packages in BGD.
To find out which BGD process corresponds to which DM Package take note of the time that package started (Local time). Than go to SM37 with user ID BPC* and find a job that started at same time (Server time).
Looking into job details you can find on what Application server it's running and PID - this uniqely identifies BGD process in SM50.
    Hope this helps.

  • Transaction code MB02 - Issue with Printing and Process overload SM50

    Hello Experts,
We are actually having a problem when trying to print a smartform in tcode MB02. Also, when verifying transaction SM50 for that process then we noticed that there was a timeout after a big data load.
    Here is the scenario:
    1. Entering a material doc 9999 and Press enter
2.Select and double click a line item for that material doc
    3. Click on Messages
    3. Select an output type and click on Repeat output
    4. Click Save
    5. Click Save again.
In a normal case, a screen would appear for printing but this time nothing seems to happen. And then when we go to tcode SM50 and check that process there is 2-3 dumps.
As a newbie programmer I do not understand any of these procedures properly. If anyone can shed any light on this, i would be grateful.
    Regards,
    Thyaga

    Hi everybody,
Thanks for your answers.  Actually after a lot of time spent on debugger i found that the variable returncode is 999 and then a subroutine is called which in turn calls my program to trigger the smartform.
The problem is throughout my program i do not change the value of the returncode .i.e it remains 999.  What i did then is change the returncode 999 before my smartform-program is called then after testing i see that the output is printed without any error.
The program and subroutine i am talking are as follows:
    1. Program: RSNAST00
    2. Subroutine: programm_aufrufen
    3. Line 1297 returncode is 999
    4. Line 1318 - my smartform program is called
    5. Then at 1324 - on control is done on returncode.
Please advice if these steps are conform/ethical.  Also, can you suggest any other steps i can do without the need to modify my own program.
Thank you very much for your replies.
    Kind regards,
    Thyaga.

  • In SM50 UP2 Running all the time with report SAPLNDE_ASSET_MASTER_UPDATE

    Dear all,
I've this strange situation. After the restart of the appliacation and DB instance in SM50 the 2 UP2 WPs are all the time running on  Report / Spool action : SAPLNDE_ASSET_MASTER_UPDATE and the main program is RSM13000. Action is Sequential read from table ANEK.
There is no Background process running or DIA. Tablespaces are all OK. And there is no any short dump.
    We use Oracle 10.2.0.4 on HP-UX 11.31 , ECC 6.0.
Does anyone knows what is the problem? Why this WP UP2 are all the time used by this report (but with very short time it starts many many times in a cycle)?
    Thank you in advance.
    BR,
    Ruzica

    Hi,
Please check for lock entries in SM12 for the mentioned table. Ideally there should be no table entries older than 24 hours.
Probably, you have an OLD active background job.
You may also try activating trace and see if it helps.

  • Function in update task goes to dialog process(seen by sm50)

    Hi Forum,
I wrote a simple test to invoke a function module in update task, and the execution of the module takes several minutes (updating database using opensql) . The test looks simply like described in the following link:
    http://www.****************/Tutorials/ABAP/Debug/Index.htm
During the run, I used transaction sm50 to view the working processes and expect to find a running "UPD" process. However it is not found, instead  my dialog process is always seen running. Any hints on why?
    Thanks,
    Yang

got the answer. The reason is that sm50 can not display UPD process so promptly. For a more thorough tracing, transaction "stad" can be used. (where I see the DB access executed in UPD process)

  • Urgent-Need info on RSMO.

    Hi Experts,
I have a couple of questions.Would really appreciate if anybody could answer these.
    1) I see the log on a particular day in RSPC but not in RSMO.From what i understand,RSMo is to monitor the Process chains.
Why am i seeing stuff in RSPC and not in RSMO?
    2) One of the process chain field creating indexes for a cube. But when i navigate to the cube and look at the check Indexes.I see the everything in green. And also i do not see any logs(even when i check for dropping indexes).
Why dont i see any logs?Am i missing anything here?
    3) I have triggerred a Delta Load for Material.During a nightly load,it completed successfully.Accidentalyi did not remove the start variant for the Full Load and it also got Triggerred after delta.
Is it possible for the Full Load to trigger after the Delta was completed. From my understanding,we need to run a Repair Full Request if we need to run a Full load after Delta has been activated.
Please help me undertsand  these issues.
    thanks in advance

    Hi Bala,
Thanks for the reply.Still have doubts on this, would appreciate if you could answer my concerns.
    1) I understand the RSPC details. But my question is why am i able to see the loads successful in the RSPC and do not see the logs in RSMO.
    2) I did check the Indexes after the process chain failed (nightly load) creating indexes. When i look at the check indexes eveything is green and i do not see any logs.
Please help me understand here, then what does the Logs icon
on the Peformance Tab of the datatarget. Why do we have to use transaction SLG1 to check the logs.
3)My question here was.How can a Full Load be triggerred by a process chain when Delta process chain is successfully running?I understand that you can run the Full Repair Request from the infopackage.Technically can we run a full load process chain after the delta load process chain completed without using the Repair full request Load.
I am talking about process chains here with no changes. How is this possible?

  • Very urgent:To find IDOC list in RSMO(BI 7.0)

    Hi all,
Its very urgent to know, for a particular load IDOCs used to run to process the data&dialogs,in 3.5 we used to get the IDOCs list in RSMO screen itself, but in 7.0 is not having that options, please tell me for a particular load where we can find list of IDOCs?
    Regards,
    GTR.

    Hi,
    This info may be helpful.
    Transact RFC error
tRFC Error - status running Yellow for long time (Transact RFC will be enabled in Status tab in RSMO).
Step 1:  Goto Details, Status get the IDoc number, and go to BD87 in R/3,place the cursor in the RED IDoc entroes in tRFC
queue thats under outbound processing and click on display the IDOC which is on the menu bar.
Step 2: In the next screen click on Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call)
place the cursor on the particular Transaction ID and go to EDIT in the menu bar --> press 'Execute LUW'
(Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call) ---> select the TrasnID ---> EDIT ---> Execute LUW)
Rather than going to SM58 and executing LUW directly it is safer to go through BD87 giving the IDOC name as it will take you
to the particular TRFC request for that Idoc.
    OR
Go into the JOB Overview of the Load there you should be able to find the Data Package ID.
(For this in RSMO Screen> Environment> there is a option for Job overview.)
This Data Package TID is  Transaction ID in SM58.
    OR
SM58 > Give * / user name or background  (Aleremote) user name and execute. It will show you all the pending TRFC with
    Transaction ID.
In the Status Text column you can see two status
    Transation Recorded and Transaction Executing
Don't disturb, if the status is second one Transaction Executing. If the status is first one (Transation Recorded) manually
    execute the "Execute LUWs"
    OR
Directly go to SM58 > Give * / user name or background  (Aleremote) user name and execute. It will show TRFCs to be executed
for that user. Find the particular TRFC (SM37 > Req name > TID from data packet with sysfail).select the TrasnID (SM58) --->
    EDIT ---> Execute LUW
    Also
Check Note 561880 - Requests hang because IDocs are not processed.
    thanks,
    JituK

  • What is the information we can get the through details tab in RSMO

    Hi to all,
Currently I am working for P.support project, All of you well known about the importance of Details tab in rsmo screen. Here we have 4 options from where we can get more informaiton...
    1) Reqest
    2) Extraction
    3) processing
    4) Datapacket information..
Any one of you pls explain briefly about these options. Any documents regarding these will help me a lot...
My concern mainly about... How these ooptions are realated to each other...
    Thanks in Advance....
    Rgds,
    Venkat....

R for Requests says whether the request is working in general ok or not
E for Extraction says whether data received and scheduled. How many records are sent for extraction and how many are received for extraction.
T for Transfer IDocs indicates how many data packages are there  for extraction and how many records arrived in each data packages for extraction.
P for processing indicates transfer rules, update rules and update and processing have any errors or not.
P for Process Chain will indicate whether it worked ok or not if there is a process chain and load is successful or not.
Hope this helps please assign points if it does.
    Thanks
    A. Ramasubban

  • How do I prevent all dialog processes in SM50 from being occupied?

    Hi experts,
I have set rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp = 4 and I still saw all dialog processes got occupied.
(PS: This screenshot is captured after a few minutes). Anyway, how do I prevent all dialog processes in SM50 from being occupied?
    Should I increase rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp ( = 4 now ) and rdisp/wp_no_dia ( = 18 now ) to a higher value?

    Hi Gaurav & Nick,
If I understand correctly, there are 4 dialog processes running and 14 RFC running at the same time.
If I want to resolve this problem, I need to reduce paralellism of RFCs and increase dialog work processes, right? Here is my new configuration. Any thoughts?
    new parameters:
    rdisp/wp_no_dia = 20
    rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp = 10
    rdisp/rfc_check = 3
    old parameters in profile:
    rdisp/wp_no_dia = 18
    rdisp/wp_no_btc = 13
    rdisp/wp_no_enq = 0
    rdisp/wp_no_spo = 2
    rdisp/wp_no_vb = 5
    rdisp/wp_no_vb2 = 2
    rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp = 4
rdisp/rfc_check = DEFAULT  (DEFAULT is 2, ASYNC and SYNC RFC)

  • Special characters  in RSKC

    Hi there,
I have some special characters that I need in my BW to be accepted both in lowercase and uppercase. It is special eastern European letter that are contained in my customer data (names and addresses).
When I enter a lowercase character in RCKS it is automatically converted into uppercase. Is it sufficient to enter the character in uppercase for the load to accept both lowercase and uppercase of the character?
    Kind regards, Torben

    Hi Torben,
RSKC accept capital letters. But you can force the system to accept lowercase letters. For it you need to check 'Lowercase letters' in the infoobject maintenance screen.
However, ODS and cubes will not accept these lowercase letters if you feed them as infoobjects' key values. The most flexible way to keep texts with lowercase letters in infoobjects' texts and show them in queries as attributes or texts of IOs.
    Best regards,
    Eugene

  • SM37 Job is not visible in SM50

    Hello Gurus,
I am seeing a peculiar situation- We ran a job and after a while I am seeing it has dissappeared from SM50 but has "Active" status in SM37.
*We have only one application server.
Does anybody have any idea how it could be cancelled.
    Cheers,
    Ankur

    Hi Subhash,
The issue was that Job was active in SM37 but was not present in SM50. I found the answer and this is due to termination of work process without making a call to "BtcCleanUp" kernel function .
    Anyway thanks for replying.
    Cheers,
    Ankur

    Hi
The procedure you wrote i.e. SM50>Process>Trace>Dispatcher>Trace file displays the dev_disp file that would give the trace for the displatcher file.
dev_w0 should be the trace for work process 00(first work process) that would be showing you a RED status for an error in it or because the threshold parameter for max run time for a work process would have exceeded.
however the trace file holds the history for all the jobs/processes that ran in that work process. Some RED lines in the trace may indicate errors that may have occured previously in the WP.
Every job executed in a WP has its logs maintained in the trace file. You can see the timestamps for each of them in the file. Check for the time you were logged in and see if the errors actually occured for your process.
I hope this helps.Feel free to revert back for any queries.
    Regards
    Chen
