Using RSRT you can test and see how your query runs. It also gives you the performance info, cache info........please check that Tcode in your BW system

Query in RSRT Transaction

Hi,
I have a requirement in which i am creating an enhancement implementation . In this i am selecting the data for a field from a table /BIC/MC_SSPHASE, based on the input (selection field in the query say X) in RSRT transaction. Can anyone help me to know - how to retrieve the data of that selection field -X from Tranaction RSRT into my enhancement implementation ?
In that implementation we have a method - this method have the parameters as:

Hi,
Not sure, but you can check the parameter i_t_var_range for getting the selection value of variable. Because this table is referred in Variable customer exit to read the values of other variable input given on selection screen.

Full text not getting displayed while using RSRT

Hi,
I am facing issue while downloading data using RSRT in BI system.
When I go to RSRT and execute a report the output doesn't display full text for a characteristic. i.e. the characteristic has a size of 60 characters, but only 30 chars ( approx) are being displayed as report output in RSRT.
COuld anyone here please help me in getting the full text using RSRT transaction?
I am not using Bex here for the reason that the output has more than 1.8 lac records and hence I get an error while using Bex
WHen I try to execute this report using Bex for a small selection I could see full text there.
And there is no text master data maintained for this characteristic.

As you said you have 1.8 Lac records, There is no point in increasing the size to maximum number possible i.e 65K .
You have following three options to satisfy your requirement.:
1.    Usage of web reporting for export of more than 65k rows. According the note: 1127156 - Safety belt: Result set is too large, in BW version 7.x it I possible to set parameters that would allow such a massive export of data.
2.    Functionality of OpenHubs. Data can be placed directly into the files (e.g. in CSV format) on application server. Be careful here OpenHubs are specially licensed and by using it there are additional fees.
3.    Coding of custom ABAP report which runs BW query and gets all its output and saves it in the flat files.

Query execution - RSRT - Abap Web - Several Logon prompts

Hi,
I am trying to execute a query in RSRT transaction after choosing ABAP Web option. When I click on the abap web button, it opens a new browser window
http://<server> : 80NN/SAP/BW/BEX?&QUERY=ZRF490N , but with a logon screen. I try to logon with my abap credentials, but it repeatedly asks for the credentials. If I say Cancel, it allows me to execute the query.
What would have gone wrong? FYI, I have already checked the service /sap/bw/bex in SICF transaction, and it remains standard as in other systems.

Please can set up the anonymous service in SICF refer to SAP Note 653099
and maintain an anonymous user for the service Mime according to the SAP
Notes 516884 and 487456 in order to avoid that logon request.

RSRT Peformace Button Issue.

Hi Friends,
In RSRT transaction which is for query monitor, I select a query which belongs to an Infocube and press the performance info button.
It has to display the performance information of that query, but it does not come up with anything.
Can anyone let me know, is there a problem in the installation or some some documentation.

RSRT - Aggregates

Dear Experts,
A report was taking more time for execution.
I have used RSRT transaction with "Aggregates" option.
It displayed few coloumns in Red.
What does that mean.
As per my understanding, those calculations are taking more time to get executed.
So I have created Aggregates with 'propose by system" option.
My issue was solved.
I need clarification on ...
1. What does the Red coloumns mean, why are the characteristics not displayed in Red.
2. How to know whether aggregates are necessary for the report ?
.3. What is the correct procedure to know this ?

Only Key figures are aggregated based on characteristic, hence only columns in red. Charachteristics cannot be aggregated.

I found why it is coming for my report alone...??When I set some Key Figures to hide..It throws me this error.It says SOME RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE cx_rsr_x_message.
Is there any other options do u have to resolve this issue???Only for my report it is happening...And the Breakpoints are written Manually which cannot be removed also in The CODING..
pls give me some solutions...Really it is consuming my time due to this stupid error.

The query monitor tests, checks, and manages BI queries.
You use the query monitor to test or regenerate queries and query views, and to check or change query properties.
With the query monitor you have the option of displaying technical information about queries. Furthermore, the query monitor allows entry into the cache monitor.
The query monitor is a transaction for administrators, because previous technical knowledge is presumed

RSRQ is data load monitor,
used to check the request in monitor,
e.g we found error in ods loading, and there mentioned request number, we can then check that request with RSRQ

Problem while running a query on multiprovider

Dear all,
I have created a query to generate the balance sheet in FIGL using standard virtual cube 0FILGL_V01 and a custom transactional cube which gets plan data through BPS. The custom plan cube is an exact copy of the 0FIGL_V01 (plan value is populated in 0val_flow KF). These two cubes are conncected using a multiprovider. In the identification tab in the mutliprovider definition I have selected both the data targets for all characteristics.
Now when I create a query for balance sheet using GL account no and plan and actual value of cumulative balance KF I get the following error.
Error 'Field symbol has not yet been assigned.' in RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC could not be caught.
When i run the query in the RSRT transaction it shows 'Some Key figure have exception aggregation.'
I'll be very grateful if somebody could explain how to about removing this error. Thanks a lot.

Import Support Package 16 for 3.5 (BW 3. 50 Patch 16 or SAPKW35016) into your BW system. The Support Package is available once Note 0872275 "SAPBWNews BW Support Package 16 NetWeaver'04 Stack 16", which describes this Support Package in more detail, has been released for customers.
Before you implement the correction, you must carry out the following actions:
1. Use Transaction SE37 to create the RSDRC_RAISE_EXCEPTION function module in the RSDRC function group (Short text = Terminator 2). This function does not have any parameters.
2. In the RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC function module, under 'Tables', add the new entry E_T_MESG of the TSMESG type and this new entry is optional.
3. The T100 messages DBMAN 003,004 and 005 complete the correction:
a) 003: Unknown error in part cube RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC = &1
b) 004: Non-catchable error '&1' in RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC.
c) 005: The following error occurred in RSDRC_CUBE_DATA_GET_RFC for part cube = &1.
In urgent cases you can implement the correction instructions.
To make information available in advance, the notes mentioned may already be available before the Support Packages are released. However, in this case the short text still contains the words "preliminary version".

Error while executing a report : Time limit exceeded

Hi Nitya H,
There are many resons behind Time out issue.
It is better to find where exaclty, our report is taking more time.
Below are the some of the bottle necks we need to monitor for time out issue:
1) OLAP query generation time.
2) F4 Search time.
3) Read Cache.
4) Write Cache.
Above features we can monitor @ RSRT transaction.
If OLAP query generation time is taking much time means ,pls regenerate the query @ RSRT.
For F4 search ,keep mater data as data retrival target.
For Read Cache and Write Cache increase the query memory @ RSRT.
Plse check the report and let me know if there is other bottle necks for query execution....
_Note:_ This is just a high level view but we can have many performance drills...like Free char ,complex calculated key fig...etc..

How to pass CMD in FM RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA?

I want my query results to be fully expanded using RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA function module. I saw while using RSRT transaction that in a query output, all levels can be expanded by going to Right Click on BEx report->Enhanced Menu->Expand Hierarchy-> Level <n>. I see that when I do that the bookmark text adds things like ENHANCED_MENU=X&
CMD=DRILL_TO_LEVEL&LEVEL=4&IOBJNM=0PLANT. I want to get data from my queries expanded till last level in an ABAP program.
I tried passing below values to I_T_PARAMETER of function module but still it is returning only the first level of data in hierarchy.
CMD - DRILL_TO_LEVEL
LEVEL - 4
IOBJNM - 0PLANT
Please help me out!

Customer exit variable with exclusion

Hello all, anyone know why a customer exit variable cannot exclude values ?
I've tried with multiple, single and interval without success (it give me a generic error in the customer exit for my variable).
Only the "selection option" mode seems to be enabled to exclude values (also in debug mode with rsrt transaction).
Unfortunately, I cannot use selection option (because this exclusion is an integration of pre-existence selection on a complex structure).
We have SAP BW 3.1C, with SP16. I've looked for sap notes but nothing about this problem (may be a limit).

Now I post my code. The variable is a "Multiple Single Values", optional, not "Ready for Input".
This is my code.
DATA: L_S_RANGE TYPE RSR_S_RANGESID.
If I_STEP = 2.
 CASE I_VNAM.
 WHEN 'ZXXXXX'.
 clear l_s_range.
 l_s_range-sign = 'E'.
 l_s_range-opt = 'EQ'.
 l_s_range-low = 'xxxxxxx'.
 append l_s_range to e_t_range.
 ENDCASE.
ENDIF.
The query raise an error (generic error on customer exit).
I've debugged the code. Error has raised from plausibility_check on RRS_VAR_VALUES_EXIT_AFTER. The following is the code that raise the error.
 CASE i_vparsel.
 WHEN rro04_c_vparsel-param
 OR rro04_c_vparsel-multiple
 OR rro04_c_vparsel-table.
 IF <l_s_range>-sign <> rs_c_range_sign-including
 OR <l_s_range>-opt <> rs_c_range_opt-equal.
 PERFORM raise USING rs_c_false g_c_ue_invalid_range
 i_vnam space space space.
 ENDIF.
From this code, it seems that with multiple selection we only have sign including and option equal.
What do you think about ?

Internal Error while executing a query with varaints in BEX

HI All,
I am executing a query which has 4 variants. when I use the first 3 variants the query is working fine.....but when I try to execute the same query for the 4th variant....the system is giving an error message called Internal Error.....
when I executed the same query with same variant...in RSRT transaction code...I was able to see the results....
The error messages that I am getting as follows...
<Internal Error> receiving from the BW Server Failed. BW server raised exception SYSTEM_FAILURE. DO you want to see more information...
when I selected YES....I got the following message
Error in a ABAP statement when processing an Internal Table.table.
Error Group
RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
when clicked on the OK button the following message is displayed....
<Internal Error> Can not determine text elements for the current query.
Can any one explain me what went wrong...is there any thing that I need to do in the BEX settings...are there any patches that needs to be installed...or any OSS notes available for this sort of errors...?

Hi Harish,
Execute the query in RSRT and check whether you have any short dump is in ST22. This would give a clear idea at what might have gone wrong.
Another thing is to check whether the code for the variable is fine in the user exit.
