I have found my XML page and attempted to insert some lines using TextEdit but this just appears to corrupt my feed.
If the file you're editing has an ".html" extension, then this from TextEdit's +Help viewer+ may be relevant:
If you want to work with an existing HTML file, choose File > Open and select the file you want. Be sure to select “Ignore rich text commands.” When you save the file, it remains a “.html” file.
...And there are other places where important selections are made for HTML files:
In TextEdit's Save dialogue, select "HTML" from the +File Format+ menu.
In TextEdit's +Preferences > New Document+ tab, select +"Plain text"+.
In TextEdit's +Preferences > Open and Save+ tab, select +"Ignore rich text commands in HTML files"+.

funky_ben,
You do not add XML data into an html file it should be inserted into an XML file look over the iTunes tech spec page provided unfortunately reading comprehension is required. -
After upgrading to version 31.3, error in updating RSS feeds.
Error message - not a valid feed.
Unable to Attach screen shot of feed validator resultsThe answer is in the guide, please read it carefully:

You can turn on extreme debugging as well. The problem is always with the publisher failing to follow specs; inform them to do so. -
After I've published my site I cant get the RSS feed on Iweb to work. When you click on it, nothing happens. How do I fix this?
here's the page so you can see what I am talking about. www.kellistwocents.comRSS feeds don't do that - if they add the feed to an RSS reader (including Safari or FireFox) they will see new updates every time they check: but sending them emails on each added episode would require extra programming in the actual program, which iWeb doesn't provide. You would need to have a mailing list and send out an email manually each time you add an episode.

I use iWeb'09, GarageBand and MobileMe, and want to find out how to simply change the existing RSS feed for my podcast series in iWeb without resorting to using any further applications.
Many thanks in advance. You can edit the RSS feed in any plaintext editor.
Or leave it to iWeb to update the file. -
Using: iWeb ver 3.0.3
I'm having an issue with RSS Feed button on my Blog Page after the site is published.
When a vistor press the RSS Feed they get ... Error 404 not found
Essentially the page that iWeb is sending the user to is
http://www.website.com/site-name-on-iweb/Blog/rss.xml instead of ...
http://www.website.com/Blog/rss.xml
The same issue appears when you try to view the website the site-name-on-iweb appears instead of the user being sent to ...
http://www.website.com iWeb takes you to http://www.website.com/site-name-on-iweb
Any help would be sincerely appreciated. ThanksHi LPopoff,
Per my knowledge, there is no difference for Form library with the RSS Feed.
Please clear the cache in Internet Explorer(IE) and then check the results again.
It seems that IE has cached the feed data and display the result the same as the original one.
Thanks,
Victoria

Wrong time zone with rss feed in iWeb
I'm using the RSS widget in iWeb, and all the RSS items are nine hours off - meaning they're on California time (I'm in Norway). The time zone is wrong even when I look at the feed in iWeb, so I don't think it's a server issue (and I'm not publishing to MobileMe).
I've found a couple of other questions about this on the board, but no answers, so here we go again... anyone? I've tried several different feeds.Same question! There must be some command-line hack to fix this. Any one figured it out?
It's posted times in USA Pacific time by default (GMT -8). This is iWeb 3.0.1. -
Editing XML/RSS feed in iWeb to input all neccessary information for iTunes
I have been trawling through a lot of the other posts but don't seem to be able to find an answer.
Basically, i have successfully created my own page to host my podcasts and i have had my RSS feed accepted by iTunes. I can now view my podcast from the link the iTunes staff sent to me, however i am unable to find it by typing the name into the search bar. I have read in the podcast help on this forum that it may be because i have to add 'key words' to the XML as this is what the search tool uses to find the podcasts but i am unable to work out exactly how to do this. I have found my XML page and attempted to insert some lines using TextEdit but this just appears to corrupt my feed.
If anyone has had a similar problem and knows of a solution, it would be greatly appreciated by myself.
Thanks for reading :o)Alancito wrote:

RSS feed with duplicates links not shown
I just realized that the RSS reader in Safari does not show entries in a feed which have the same link as some other link. For example:
entry1 - link1
entry2 - link2
entry3 - link3
entry4 - link1
entry5 - link2
will only show 3 entries with the link1 to link3; skipping entry4 and entry 5
Is there any way to force Safari to show all entries in a feed independent of duplicated links? If you go to this site you will find the google code there.
http://code.google.com/
HTH
Sorry you have already done that, so just edit the code to point to your website, (this is where it says title and url).

Image previews do not appear when viewing RSS feed in Mail, why not?
When I view the Cult of Mac RSS feeds on my old white Macbook I get the image previews displayed right away in Mail but on my 2010 MBP there is just a question mark where the image should be. Any idea how I can get the images to appear on my MBP?
When I click to 'read more' and the page opens fully in Safari the images are viewable.
cheers
SimonSure Thing...This is a screenshot of the Slider Menu with the buttons to the social media as they should be. Note: this is a screen shot taken from a "preview in browser" (Chrome) through Muse. When it builds and uploads, I no longer see the buttons and there is no hover state as there should be. Hope this helps-

Rss Feeds on Samsung Continuum not working after Verizon Update
I have been wondering for awhile why my Samsung Continuum will not recieve Rss feeds when I subscribe to them. I have read very little on why or how to fix this. This sucks as those Rss feeds are really useful. My bro's and my phone (both the same phone) have this problem. I have not reset my phone. Anything would be appreciated!
I'm having this same problem. Any word on if a patch is coming? I would be happy with Verizon just admitting their update was worthless and gave us an update letting us know they are actually aware of the issue rather than saying they dont know whats going on and offer to replace a perfectly good phone because they wont listen to their customers. Simlar to what raphana said...for what we pay they could have atleast tested the update before putting it live!

Make RSS feed with iWeb, personal domain name
I have a question I jus can't figure out, even asked at an Apple store today in Minnesota.
I created my website with iWeb, simple to do and used my personal domain, http://www.jannetwalsh.com.
I just can't figure out how to create the RSS feed.
Do I need to place a feed file in the public file where I "house" my site? Any suggestions would be great. I am learning and would love to learn more!
Thanks,
JannetiWeb is being phased out. Suggest you put your efforts into something you don't have to redo right away.

Updates to RSS feeds in bookmark toolbar not bold.
I've recently installed Firefox and bookmarks and RSS feeds from IE. The RSS feeds are in my bookmarks toolbar. In IE, when the RSS feeds had updates, the item name would be bold. I thought Firefox worked the same way. What do I need to do in Firefox to get RSS feed updates to display in bold?
You might be able to find some customized themes with Stylish addon and the user styles:

Hi there,
Can i add RSS feed onto my iWeb site?
www.echoplexe.com
Thanks for your time.
MartinIt looks like your site http://www.echoplexe.com is hosted on a 3rd party server, right? So right now what you are doing is doing a "Publish to Folder" in iWeb and then uploading the site files to your server, right? Well, next time you "Publish to Folder" take a closer look at the file dialog window that opens. At the bottom of that window there is actually a field for you to enter your domain so that iWeb can put the RSS feed in there for you... just type in http://www.echoplexe.com/ in there and I think you'll see your RSS feed after you upload.
If this is useful information to you, please do me a favor and mark this reply as "solved" or "helpful" using the little buttons in the title bar of this reply. I would appreciate it immensely. Thanks. -
RSS Feeds Listed by Author, not Headline. Ack!
I'm a big fan of the new version of Mail (5.1), but the one thing that bugs me is that when I'm looking down the list of my unread RSS feeds, they're all listed by their author, not their headline like they used to be. I want to keep them sorted by date, but I'd like the headline to be bold and listed first, not the author. In many cases (such as CNN), it's just "CNN.com" over and over again. Is there a way to change this back without choosing "Use classic layout" in the Viewing Preference Pane? (which I don't want to do)
