RSS feed issue

Hi
I have recently set up a podcast. The podcast URL is www.blog.interestingpodcast.com and the RSS feed is http://blog.interestingpodcast.com/podcasts-only/rss2.aspx
I have tested the podcast in itunes and was able to download the episodes. However when I go to submit the podcast rss feedn I keep getting the same error message "we have had difficulties reading the feed. Connection reset".
I have spent a long time with godaddy technical help who said they do not know what the issue is.
Any help is much appreciated
Matt

I have also encountered this issue with my podcast. My site is hosted on Godaddy but my podcast is hosted on libsyn. My feed is http://www.hauntedhousestartup.com/feed and is run through feedburner also. I contacted Apple and they sent the following reply about the error.
Our systems continue to show a reset request from your servers, keeping our backend systems from being able to accept your podcast submission.
I contacted Godaddy about this and they had never heard of it and had no ideas on a fix. Anyone else come up with anything further.

  • Iweb and IE...and RSS feed issue.

    Hi there.
    According to a friend of mine using IE6 my Podcast page of my website doesn't display correctly, it appears to work fine in both Firefox and Safari and other users with those browsers have had no issues, can someone please tell me if they have problems in IE? I'd appreciate it greatly. the address is http://www.stueyslifestories.com
    Also, my RSS feed link for the podcast begins with the ITPC thing at the start, I presume that means iTunes Podcast? unfortunately that means my viewers/listeners will need iTunes to subscribe to my podcasts, and any podcast search engine I try and submit the link to won't accept the link, nor will they accept it if I try and remove the itpc from the beginning, how do I alter it so that it's just a regular HTTP? or something else that's universal and acceptable by most feedreaders/search engines?? thanks.

    This problem appears to be a Microsoft issue, as I can't subscribe using Firefox on a PC, whereas Firefox on a Mac does work. The error I receive is "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (itpc) isn't associated with any program".
    The itpc protocol appears to be an Apple-only protocol associated with iTunes, iPod, and iPhone. The PC used for the testing did not have iTunes installed, so I would assume that these links will only work if you have iTunes installed.
    As far as the problem with IE on the Mac, this browser is so outdated that there probably is no capability to enhance it to support itpc, so iTunes only modified browsers that had that capability to allow those links to work.
    Your concern about feedreaders and search engines is a valid one. I would guess that with this Apple-only protocol, you'll find your podcasts isolated and not accessible by a large number of Internet users. For this reason, I would not recommend using the ITPC protocol for subscribing. I have done a lot of research on the Internet and have not been able to find any information on how to use the traditional HTTP method. I will let you know if we find an answer to this.

  • RSS Feed Issues

    I built a blog in iWeb which is hosted by MobileMe on my personal domain. I use Feedburner for the RSS Feed.
    Here is my raw feed address: http://www.ryanfirpo.com/filmmaker/Blog/rss.xml
    Here is my Feedburner feed: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ryan918FILMS
    Can anyone tell me how to:
    1) Get the RSS Feed to display images.
    2) Get the RSS Feed to embed video.
    3) Get the RSS Feed to retain all my previous posts. Right now it will only show the five newest at any given time (in any RSS Reader).
    I apologize about the multiple posts. I'm just completely at a loss as to where to go next and there seems to be no information about this specific problem anywhere on the web (I've done a lot of searching). I thought posting something that simply and concisely explained my problem would be beneficial.
    BTW I only began using Feedburner because I wanted my RSS Feed to display multiple images (at this point, I'd settle for one) and I read this article: http://allaboutiweb.com/index.php/2008/09/better-rss-iweb/
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if it's just to tell me these things can't be done with iWeb. At this point, I really don't know.

    I'm trying to use a feed provided by libsyn:
    feed://podcastdoctor.libsyn.com/rss
    And it is giving me the same errors as mentioned in this thread:
    There was a problem updating the group titled TabName in course CourseTitle - the url http://media.libsyn.com/media/podcastdoctor/40Dr._Rudi_Ansbacher_-Menopause.mp3 could not be read
    I don't have control over the libsyn feed, and cannot tell if:
    1) the redirect on the media file is the cause
    2) the xml feed is invalid (libsyn support said it was OK).
    The frustrating thing is this feed is used in the Apple Store on the Podcasting side... so I am not sure why it won't also work in iTunesU.
    Thanks!

  • RSS Feed issue in 5.2

    Just upgraded to 5.2 and now I am having problems with all of the RSS feeds.  Now that I need a proxy server just for these dmp's to get information.
    1) Is there any workaround, like using the IP address instead of the dns name?
    2) is there a really simple and cheap way to do this?
    3) Did someone think to maybe let the DMM be the proxy server?

    Richard,
    To make the Yahoo Pipes RSS feeds work for the DMD, you need to add "apis" to the Yahoo domain name.
    Example:
    /* Style Definitions */
    table.MsoNormalTable
    {mso-style-name:"Table Normal";
    mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0;
    mso-tstyle-colband-size:0;
    mso-style-noshow:yes;
    mso-style-priority:99;
    mso-style-qformat:yes;
    mso-style-parent:"";
    mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt;
    mso-para-margin:0in;
    mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt;
    mso-pagination:widow-orphan;
    font-size:11.0pt;
    font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";
    mso-ascii-font-family:Calibri;
    mso-ascii-theme-font:minor-latin;
    mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman";
    mso-fareast-theme-font:minor-fareast;
    mso-hansi-font-family:Calibri;
    mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin;
    mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman";
    mso-bidi-theme-font:minor-bidi;}
    http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.run?_id=89b27ea12fc2eafb2a12e1c492b22d05&_render=rss
    should be

    I hope this helps.

  • Synchronising RSS feeds in Mail

    I have a number of RSS feeds in Mail, where I find it very useful to keep tabs on them.
    I have the RSS feeds on my iMac, and although I have a MoblieMe subscription and everything is sent to synchronise, the RSS feeds do not appear on my MacBook (running the same versions of the OS and Mail).  Everything else comes across; rules, accounts, etc.
    Is there anyway I can copy a collection of RSS feeds in Mail on one machine to another, without having to resort to adding the manually and individually?
    Thanks.

    I agree. I have had the RSS feed issue in the Mail app and also in Safari, not updating the RSS counts with viewing. Copying the Pub Sub folder from a "Guest" account into a "shared" area on the drive, so I could later use it to replace my current Pub Sub folder fixed both problems. A great fix.

  • RSS Feeds in Mail - error -

    Hello,
    Please help, my RSS feeds in mail and safari will now not work ?!?!? I can this error in Mail when trying to update a feed :
    There was an error updating the RSS feed “Apple Hot News”
    An error internal to the Publication Subscription framework occurred.
    And when I try to view it in Safari I get this :
    Safari can’t open the page.
    Safari can’t open the page “feed://images.apple.com/main/rss/hotnews/hotnews.rss”. The error was: “Operation could not be completed. (PubSub error 203.)” (PubSub:203) Please choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
    I was wondering if anyone has a solution to this issue, as RSS feeds are crucial to me ????
    Thanks
    Joel

  • Issue with RSS Feed Service-Urgent

    Hi,
    1. I am using the service provided by UCM for using extracting details from the RSS feed.I tried using the service with a RSS feed url i.e.("http://rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/topstories") works fine and displays all results on my custom page.
    2. The same piece of code, I moved my client instance but found nothing happens not even I am getting any error. Only the thing I can see is a page loading and loading for long time.
    3. I found a document related to RSS feed it has mentioned to upload fragments into the SS which i did in my and client instance. The names are RSS_Feed.Zip and RSS FEEDS_FRAGMENT_LIB.zip.
    4. The feed URL provided when executed from browser in client and my instance displays feed, but when use it with service works on development instance works fine, but
    doesn't work on client instance.
    5. Below mentioned is the sample page which I am using to execute the feed.

    I found the issue, the service provided by UCM i.e. the GET_REMOTE_FEED as when checked in the source code found doesn't support https. So any request made on https will give no result.

  • RSS Feed and  Podcast Categories Issue

    Hey everyone,
    I'm having a lot of problems publishing my podcasts with iweb. I create them on Garageband and then send to iWeb where they're part of a larger site. Anyway, they were working at one stage, but now seem not to be at all.
    I ran the RSS feed through fee validator and it's telling me the categories chosen are not longer valid itunes categories. I want them in video games, but there's no choice for this when I'm going through iWeb.
    The issue is that I don't know how to get to the RSS feed to edit it. I only see the iWeb format, but I want the actual source code etc to go in and change that around if possible. Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks in advance
    Tracy

    Hi,
    Thanks for the help, that is much appreciated. Sadly I'm still having the same issue. The two old dead feeds are still on iTunes after weeks of me asking for them to be removed and also after me putting the block tag into the rss feed. My new one still hasn't shown up even though it was updated on Saturday... it's really a nightmare.
    Can someone please please help.
    Thanks
    xx

    Any help would be sincerely appreciated.  Thanks

    Hi LPopoff,
    Per my knowledge, there is no difference for Form library with the RSS Feed.
    Please clear the cache in Internet Explorer(IE) and then check the results again.
    It seems that IE has cached the feed data and display the result the same as the original one.
    Thanks,

  • Safari issues with at least two sites and RSS Feeds broken

    Greetings all. This is my first time posting on here, I'm also a new(er) Apple user. Finally switched from the dark side. Love the Macbook, but after so many years with a PC, I am definitely not within my element on some things. Here are my two issues:
    1. On Safari (and Firefox incidentally) if I go to msnbc.com or yahoo.com I get a dysfunctional appearance. msnbc.com simply doesn't load except the outer frames. The inner content doesn't load at all. They have redesigned their site and I still only get the outer frame from the old design. On yahoo.com, it simply gives me a very bland, generic front page and tells me to upgrade to a more current browser. I'm running the most current Safari. Don't know what's wrong. I get some challenges on some other sites i visit, but nothing specific comes to mind - except maybe flash driven applications - heavy flash. They run slow or not at all.
    2. I love(d) RSS feeds in Safari. All of a sudden they stopped working. It still shows unread messages - which I cannot clear - and will not load any new messages. If I try to read a feed, it gives me a error page - similar to a non-existent page/link. Not sure how to fix this.
    With the first issue, being relatively new to Apple, etc, I honestly don't know if I selected some weird setting unknowingly that is causing my problems or not, etc. Don't know if I caught a virus, bug, etc. Wouldn't know how to find out if I did.
    Anyone that is patient, intelligent with Apple and doesn't mind helping out a stupid new Apple user. :o) VERY MUCH APPRECIATED IN ADVANCE!

    All companies are out there to make money, however much they try to disguise the fact.
    GoldenShoes is partly right. However, not all sites are deliberately designed to just work in IE and Firefox; a lot of developers simply don't realise their code (or parts of it) is not functional in other browsers because at least 90% of the world's population use IE or FF. In other cases, it's just not economically viable to cater to such a tiny percent of the Internet-using population (besides, what would all those people that want to be 'different' do?!
    You might want to try contacting those companies and telling them of your problems - after all, they are losing business by doing this and they may be unaware.
    The other part of the argument is that FF, and IE especially, let a lot more 'bad', invalid code though to cater to their users. Opera and Safari don't really do this as much, and there is a lot of cross-browser incompatibility.

  • Feed Has No Episodes & Validation Issues with RSS Feed

    Hello! I am beyond my wits end..having many issues getting this podcast submitted and never had such issues before. Any step-by-step help would be GREATLY appreciated!!
    Here is my feedburner: http://feeds.feedburner.com/High-achievingWomensBlogazine
    And here is the page where I have followed the instructions for the audio player and files: http://www.highachievingwomen.biz/podcasts/high-achieving-womens-blogazine-podca sts/
    Is there something I am missing for this feed to be picking up my audio files?
    (Note: since I am using feedburner, I did install the Plugins (Audio player & FeedSmith) that they recommend to use with their system as well)
    And here is what I get when I submit the RSS for validation:
    Congratulations!
    This is a valid RSS feed.

    This feed is valid, but interoperability with the widest range of feed readers could be improved by implementing the following recommendations.

    Thank you!!

    Your feed has no media files referenced. Your web page has embedded audio players: these won't work in the feed. You need direct links to the media files, which should be mp3 or m4a, not rm, swf or wma. These links have to be contained in an 'enclosure' tag for each episode.
    This page eplains the basics of making a podcast and includes a sample basic feed soi you can see what I'm talking about:
    http://rfwilmut.net/pc
    I'm not suggesting you should write your own feed, but the page will tell you what to look for in a feed.
    You're using Wordpress: it's not really generating a podcast feed. You may need to add the PodPress plugin - I'm not sure whether you can get a podcast feed out of WordPress by itself - I'm afraid I can't advise on this.
    You can ignore the FeedValidator comment - it's only because you have the 'item' tag at the end of a line, and this doesn't matter.

  • Adobe now providing RSS Feeds to Top Issues

    Adobe are now providing RSS Feeds to Photoshop Top Issues and Recent Knowledgebase Tech docs.
    Links to these feeds are now displayed in the Forum Header. You should drag those links to a newsreader or RSS Reader Browser add-on in order to view them.

    I believe that there are a number of features of Bridge that are only available when you have more of the Suite than just Photoshop.
    Bridge Center and its contents is one of them.
    That would make sense because Bridge Center is really designed to provide links between the various applications that are part of the CS2 Suite.
    Bridge Center provides numerous tools: Synchronized Color Management, Version Cue project index (I don't personally use VC at this time); Tips & Tricks and "Help" tabs; the RSS Reader; and Management/Indexing and hot link application launching for recent Files, Folders, and File Groups (files from different applications that are used in a particular job).

    Thx.

    apex.oracle.com is locked down pretty tight since it is a free service.
    I'm surprised that running a restricted Package (DBMS_NETWORK_ACL_ADMIN) didn't throw an error and laugh at you.
    If you want to test that app, you must bring it "in house".

  • I am unable to submit my RSS feed into iTunes

    Podcast RSS feed not being accepted by iTunes
    I have registered my main podcast RSS feed in iTunes successfully. I want to migrate this RSS feed from feedburner to PowerPress, but I want to prototype it first before I move the real feed. To that end, I created another Blogger blog site and Feedburner rss feed that has the same settings as my main feed. The feed is using SmartCast to configure the RSS feed for iTunes compatibility. I cannot get the test feed to load into iTunes though. I get this error message:
    Podcast cover art must be at least 1400x1400 pixel JPG or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.
    I had the artist give me a 1400x1400 pixel version of the logo in RGB color space (I’m not sure how to verify this).  Here is a link to the logo, if anyone can tell by looking at the picture or site what is wrong that needs to be fixed. http://s24.postimg.org/lvuuf7v91/ARP_logo_i_Tunes.jpg
    I have read as many forum posts as I can to try and solve this issue and nothing has worked so far. Can someone tell me what is wrong with my image or RSS feed that is causing iTunes to reject the feed?
