RSS Feed only with original post?

Hi, There is a way to get feed rss with only the originator of a thread? means I'd like to have only the "entry-point" not all response.
For example I have rss with
- original subject
- Re: original subject
- Re: original subject
- original subject 2
- Re: original subject2
I'd like somethings like
- original subject
- original subject 2
only.

I need help getting my RSS feed compaitble with Itunes...Im almost there.

Can someone help me with my code for itunes. Unfortunately I use rapidweaver to podcast and I have read there are a few things Rapidweaver leaves out when publishing the site so itunes does not accept the feed. My RSS feed works and can be subscribed manually though Itunes or with software. Im thinking im using spaces or it looks like I need to number my tracks for my podcast(which sounds odd but, I know itunes is finicky with spaces, symbols etc)
thank you so much for the help...after I get my podcast set in Itunes I will be a happy camper!

It's better to post the URL of the feed (as you have subsequently done) than the contents of the feed .
From the FeedValidator report the feed is basically OK for iTunes. There are several occasions where 'content:encoded' sections (following immediately on 'guid' tags) should be enclosed in
<description>...</description>
tags: however all this will be ignored by iTunes anyway and only applies to other readers. The 'potentially dangerous content' referred to by FeedValidator is within the 'content:encoded' tags and so isn't relevant to iTunes. They are referring to an inline css style, and I don't know whether this might cause a problem elsewhere.
You should really have a language tag, e.g.
<language>en-us</language>
(you have a dc:language tag but that's for a different system). This should be placed in the top section, before the first 'item' tag.
It's advisable to have an 'itunes:explicit' tag for each 'item' -
<itunes:explicit>yes IF CONTAINS ADULT MATERIAL, OTHERWISE no</itunes:explicit>
it's not compulsory if you have no adult material, but you must have a 'yes' if you do.
You can check your feed by subscribing in iTunes from the 'Advanced' menu - this has the same result as clicking the 'Subscribe' button on the Store page. If it works OK there you are ready to submit it.

Why does my blog's RSS feed not show all posts in the blog

I have a blog with some 38 posts in it yet when I view the RSS feed url I only see 16 of the posts. Stangely if I show this feed in Google Reader it will show all the posts but viewing the RSS feed directly in any browsershows any more than the 16.
I am wanting to show all so I can export the xml file to Wordpress blog for all my posts and then reimport back into a new BC blog.
I have checked the RSS items and confirmed that all the posts are included in this RSS feed.

No your not Sidney... after I posted the above question I posted a new "test" article to the blog and later in the evening I saw that the new post had been picked up by the RSS feed and at the same time it picked up all the other posts that were not previously showing. The workings of RSs is sometimes a mystery but anyhow all seems fine now for whatever reason.

Script to open RSS feed url's and post those in the background to a webpage

Dear everyone,
Im trying to work on a script that should do:
- Read My Apple mail RSS feeds every 120 seconds
- extract a NUMBER from the links from those RSS feeds
- then post them to a website url site.com/rss.php?id=<extracted id>
- It should run totally in the background of my apple
- The links should be posted in the background also without opening any browser or safari
Is this possible?
I have my apple now 4 months and this is my first applescript project, so its a bit too much for me, ive spend several hours investigating on how to do this can someone help me out a bit please?

Start by using a different RSS application.
Mail.app doesn't provide any access to RSS feeds via AppleScript, so there is no chance of doing this with Mail.app (or, at least, no easy way to do so).
Try something like NetNewsWire instead.
Once you have a viable app, the first part is pretty straightfoward:

From here, though, I don't know what you're trying to do. You say:

Do you mean you want to post the number of RSS messages (since that's what you asked for earlier), or do you mean you want to re-post the RSS articles? Or do you mean you want to download the links and re-post the entire linked article?
That's three options (and there are probably more), each of which require a different approach.

Dashcode Web Widget - RSS feed only displays in Safari

Created a simple web widget in dashcode (my first experience with it) and when I deploy to the web it only works correctly in Safari. The RSS feed does not display in Explorer or Firefox. Having trouble getting it work on a windows computer and across browsers...any ideas?

We were able to work around this by using jQuery to write the data we wanted into the RSS output into the "Item Description" field. And we just didn't use the "Item Description" field in the detail page at all... it worked out pretty good for us...

RSS feed generation with CRM data

Hi folks,
I got a question from my customer if RSS feed generation is possible with CRM data.
He thinks about a scenario where for example an Intranet user can subscribe a RSS feed that provides information if certain CRM data changed, eg. a new BusinessPartner was created or a certain relationship to a BusiessPartner changed.
Do you know if SAP (CRM) provides such RSS functionality (out-of-the-box)?

In CRM 7, every user can customize his own RSS feed.

RSS Feed Generator with KM Repository Listener Service

I would like to generate the RSS Feed for the KM respository to get the latest modified and created documents.
Do we have any service listener to generate the .xml file (RSS Feed )?
And this RSS Feed has to be updated when ever the content changed in KM Folder.

RSS Feed Problem with RDF files

Hi everyone,
I created a RSS feed like it is described in this weblog: Implementing A RSS Feed Reader In The Portal
Some RSS URLs work perfectly some don't work.
An example are RSS feeds like http://www.heise.de/newsticker/heise.rdf
Are .rdf files different from other RSS feeds?
How can I reference them from the portal?

HI Keith,
Go to ~/LIbrary/Preferences and move the com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist file to the Trash then relaunch Safari.
See if that makes a difference. If not, from the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Empty Cache. Relaunch Safari.

IWeb Blog RSS feed no longer updates

When I originally published my iWeb blog to .Mac, the RSS feed contained all 3 posts. Since then the RSS feed hasn't updated, although I've added several new entries to the blog. I've checked the source code of the RSS feed and it only contains the original 3 posts.
Any suggestions for getting the RSS feed to update?

Follow-up post. Strangely, when checking ths RSS feed from IE at work, I see the new posts in the source data of the feed. So this is not an iWeb problem, but probably related to the more general RSS update issues within Safari.

Proper XSLT Fragment creation with blog post?

I have been trying to establish individual rss feeds from Word Press posts into divs on dynamic php pages.
So far I have created Dreamweaver 4 XSLT Fragment pages with an address to a remote blog on the internet. When creating the XSLT Fragment I have been entering the following addressing:
http://xxxxx.com/blog/?feed=rss2
The page is saved with .xsl. I then create a php dynamic page and add a div into which I bring the .xsl using Dreamweaver's Server Behavior 'XSLT Transformation'. My aim is to only have the text of that particular post from Word Press and thats it.
When I view the php page in a browser I do see the last post on the blog but for the life of me I can not figure out how to bring in other prior posts. So far I have tried the following address changes after creating new categories in Word Press such as the category 'bio':

I get the same results, the last post and thats it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using MYSQL and php.

It would be best to contact the space editors or moderators for SAP Portfolio and Project Management (SAP RPM, cProjects) and cFolders: click the people tab in the space to see who they are.

We have a new Wordpress site, how do I add a description and artwork to the RSS feed of the podcast?

I am surprised I could not find this on a search of Google or Apple Support.
Our church has a new website created with Wordpress. We have all of the functionality ready to go in order to have the RSS feed work with the itunes store.
However, when we submit the feed to iTunes, it says that we need to add a graphic, as well as a short and a long description. I believe this used to be a part of the iTunes website submission process, however it apparently now needs to be a part of the feed itself, if I am understanding correctly.
So my question is where can I find instructions on how to add this in Wordpress?
Just so you understand, I am not in charge of the site itself... I am basically doing some research on my own to help out our programmer. I am just in charge of uploading the weekly audio.
If anyone could guide me in the right direction, it would be very much appreciated.

Wordpress can construct a proper podcast feed, including the 'itunes:image, 'itunes:summary' and 'itunes:subtitle' tags; there will be places to enter this data but I'm afraid I can'd advise on WordPress. It does seem to have a steep learning curve as we see more problems with Wordpress podcasts than any other creation method.
Unless someone who happens to have got a WordPress podcast working happens to see your question and offer information I can only suggest that you look for a Wordpress forum or some Help on it.

If the RSS feeds contained pubDate and author that would be great!

The RSS feeds you get from the discussions boards contain for each post tags like:
jf:creationDate
jf:modificationDate
jf:author
If the content of the jf:modificationDate tag where also included in a pubDate tag, and the jf:author content where also included in an author tag, then the author and posting date would be displayed in both NetNewsWire and Safari when viewing the RSS feed.
As it is now, when you view an RSS feed (such as Troublesome Posts Procedure?), you don't see the author info, and every post has the same wrong date. The date shown is the date the feed was refreshed.
Wouldn't it be nice to have this info displayed?

Safari Automatically Finding RSS Feeds

I am currently developing a website that will offer rss feeds. I have the rss link on the page, but I want Safari to autiomatically find the feed and add the RSS icon in the address bar you can click on it and go to the feed. What html coding do I have to do for this?

Try adding the following to the header:
< link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS" href="rss feed location">
with the actual location of the RSS feed inserted between the last pair of quote marks. Remove the space after <.

Safari issues with at least two sites and RSS Feeds broken

Greetings all. This is my first time posting on here, I'm also a new(er) Apple user. Finally switched from the dark side. Love the Macbook, but after so many years with a PC, I am definitely not within my element on some things. Here are my two issues:
1. On Safari (and Firefox incidentally) if I go to msnbc.com or yahoo.com I get a dysfunctional appearance. msnbc.com simply doesn't load except the outer frames. The inner content doesn't load at all. They have redesigned their site and I still only get the outer frame from the old design. On yahoo.com, it simply gives me a very bland, generic front page and tells me to upgrade to a more current browser. I'm running the most current Safari. Don't know what's wrong. I get some challenges on some other sites i visit, but nothing specific comes to mind - except maybe flash driven applications - heavy flash. They run slow or not at all.
2. I love(d) RSS feeds in Safari. All of a sudden they stopped working. It still shows unread messages - which I cannot clear - and will not load any new messages. If I try to read a feed, it gives me a error page - similar to a non-existent page/link. Not sure how to fix this.
With the first issue, being relatively new to Apple, etc, I honestly don't know if I selected some weird setting unknowingly that is causing my problems or not, etc. Don't know if I caught a virus, bug, etc. Wouldn't know how to find out if I did.
Anyone that is patient, intelligent with Apple and doesn't mind helping out a stupid new Apple user. :o) VERY MUCH APPRECIATED IN ADVANCE!

All companies are out there to make money, however much they try to disguise the fact.
GoldenShoes is partly right. However, not all sites are deliberately designed to just work in IE and Firefox; a lot of developers simply don't realise their code (or parts of it) is not functional in other browsers because at least 90% of the world's population use IE or FF. In other cases, it's just not economically viable to cater to such a tiny percent of the Internet-using population (besides, what would all those people that want to be 'different' do?!
You might want to try contacting those companies and telling them of your problems - after all, they are losing business by doing this and they may be unaware.
The other part of the argument is that FF, and IE especially, let a lot more 'bad', invalid code though to cater to their users. Opera and Safari don't really do this as much, and there is a lot of cross-browser incompatibility.

RSS feed doesn't give date of new post

I use Firefox/Sage to check what's new in the Oracle planet with RSS feed.
All works fine, exept for new posts in all forums, I haven't the date of posting.
For other center, like "Oracle Press Releases" for example, I have the date of new posts. The problem exists only for posts coming from forum.

In the link which you gave, there are two date tag (as for all forum's rss) : creationDate and modificationDate, but there is not output into RSS feed screen.
In the link below (oramag rss), there is only one date tag : pubDate, and this date is output as well on the rss field.
