RSS folders?
I have several rss feeds in Mail and wanted to know if there was some way to lump same-topic feeds into folders (ie a sports folder for sport rss, tech folder, etc) I am not afraid to tinker with .plists or terminal.
Major Bug. So surprised that lots of people aren't talking about this. It is taking me some time but I am just creating new folders and it is working for me too. Seems this is something they shouldn't have missed. I have been living with them not working since upgrading, couldn't find any info on it until now. Thanks for posting.

In Snow Leopard Mail i could group similar RSS feeds into a folder and look at them all combined. Now that function isn't working, and my folders are saying that they will not longer update because there isn't a feed address associated with them. When I create a new folder, i cannnot move the feeds i am already subscribed to into it. Please help.

Is there any way to have my RSS feeds sync to my iPad in Mail, or will I have to download a separate app to handle RSS feeds?
the rss header and rss folders or feeds under that header should be added automatically.
are you adding directly in Mail or are you adding from Safari?
I have had trouble with adding directly in Mail, so what I have done is adding first in Safari, then selecting these feeds in file>add rss feeds... and browse/select the feeds that show up.
hope this helps -
Exporting my RSS Feeds from Mail
Is there a way to export my RSS feeds from Mail 3.0 so that I can then reimport them in another iMac at work. I don't have (nor do I want to purchase .Mac for synchronizing), but if there is a way to just export those and import them into Mail on another machine, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
- MarceloIt's pretty crude but I have an Applescript which scans the Mail RSS folders and dumps an OPML file on your desktop. I wrote it to get a copy of all my feeds for Google Reader - hopefully it'll work for you too...

Hey;
I'm having a fairly strange problem. All of my RSS feeds persist in staying in my Inbox even though I have selected certain ones to be hidden from the Inbox. Has anyone seen this and if so, what was your resolution?Reading other related posts, tried removing the Info.plist from one of the RSS folders in ~/Library and no change; RSS feed still appears in the Inbox
Technically, it is appearing in a Smart Folder I made that shows only Unread messages of type Mail, yet still seeing thousands of feed articles.
Is there a way to manually set a message to type RSS? -
How do i manage rss feeds within fire fox
i see no way to create rss folders so that i can manage many rss feeds from different web sites. there is the latest headlines button on the favorites bar (which came loaded with bbc) but i have no idea how to manage this as one would a standard rss feed reader.
As well; i don't know what the next up button is? how it works or how to manage?RSS feeds are loaded from a server via an XML file with the feed items. You can't edit that list. All you do is to create a bookmark with the feed URL by visiting the feed page.
You can find the RSS feed (Subscribe) button in the toolbar palette in the "View > Toolbars > Customize" window and drag the button on a toolbar.

Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily. -
Files related to removed email accounts are not deleted.
Thunderbird (currently 24.6.0, Windows) current Account Settings window shows Local folders and RSS folders for rss feeds. I used to have 2 email accounts, but a long time ago I stopped using Thunderbird for them. At that time I removed them using the "Remove account" button. They were (and are) no longer displayed.
The other day, I went to transfer Thunderbird settings using MozBackup to another system. On that system I could see the two email accounts (including mail messages).
Then, I checked in the Thunderbird Profile folder in Application Data. The accounts were still there.
So my question is - How can I completely delete the old email accounts. I read elsewhere that the primary email account cannot be deleted. But can the account sub-folders in the Profile folder be deleted without causing other problems?Folder
mail \server name
IMAPMail\server name
Deleting the server name folders removes any residual mail for an account.
Note deleting such a folder for an active account is something of a disaster.
see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Recovering_deleted_mail_accounts not what you ask, but explains folder naming a little -

Why can't I see the RSS mail box in mail in OS X Mountian Lion? Where is the all folders option in the mail?
ThanksThe previous Mail did have:

ON MY MAC
The above separated the mailboxes slightly.
Yes, the On My Mac has been removed and everthing comes under one heading of Mailboxes now.

I am trying to recover my bookmarks and mail RSS feeds+folders.
I had to do a clean install of Lion. I almost have everything back but I am missing a few of my backup files. If I can locate these remaining items, I will be done finally!
Safari bookmarks
Mail RSS feeds and mail folders
Oh
And it would be nice to locate my iTune's Artwork for my library items. Not not a deal breaker, there are just so many of them to hunt and peck for if I decide to do so.
I have looked everywhere I can think of for these with no success.I ended up having the Apple Genius bar work on this problem for me. The plists are now hidden in the Lion software and they had to go into the basic language portion of the system and execute commands to locate and retrieve the information. However, I do have all the information back.

RSS Bookmark UnreaCounts Reset after Rearranging Bookmarks/Bookmark Folders
I had been cruising along with Safari RSS, merrily adding a feed here, removing one there, and I finally decided to organize my bookmark folders a little better. To do this, I created some new bookmark folders and moved several bookmarks among them. Upon so doing, however, all of my RSS unread counts reset. Is this a known issue? I was unable to find any threads in the discussions involving this particular issue.
Well, this time, all my unread counts just reset themselves without my having done anything in particular other than using the Bookmark Bar to browse my bookmarked RSS feeds. Is anyone else having any issues with random resetting of unread counts?

Hi community,
Is it possible to provide KM content (e.g. PDFs or .doc files) as RSS feed?
We want IE showing new documents in a special folder as RSS links.
Regards,
ManuelHi,
You should create RSS Feeds for PDFs or .doc files using RSS Feed Generator. But this will be tricky as you will have to code with pdf api's and doc api's to read pdf and doc files from java (http://poi.apache.org/).
Check this for more how to create RSS Feeds:

RSS making up folders!?
Hello,
I have figured out part of the problem as to why my RSS feeds aren't working. When I publish to folder, I enter the correct domain to publish to, which is www.brianjarmstrong.com, but when I click the rss feed on the "News" page, it comes up as "page not found." I didn't realize at first, but I noticed recently that this is the link it goes for:
http://www.brianjarmstrong.com/Brian%20Armstrong/News/rss.xml
But there is no "Brian Armstrong" folder! Why is it creating this incorrect link?
15 Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.6)But there is no "Brian Armstrong" folder! Why is it
creating this incorrect link?
Because you were supposed to upload the "Brian Armstrong" folder, and failing to do so broke the link. When you published to your local drive, was not a Brian Armstrong folder created? Isn't that the name of your site inside iWeb?
It may be your server won't accept spaces in names. If so change your site name to Brian_Armstrong inside iWeb and republish and reupload the entire folder with this name and the index.html published alongside it. -
Hi, I have a problem to create a new "Local Folder" in my Mail program. I am talking about local folders which I can see in right gray panel in Mail program ( Inbox, Smart Mailboxes, Reminders, RSS and On My Mac - local folders).
These folders was created when I moved my all e-mail from external HD. I can not find these folders on my Macintosh HD.
Any suggestion, please.yes, Mac OS is good ( Idid not know about it until move from PC to Mac last week).
I found this folder: Mac HD-Users-choose admin or user - library-mail-mailboxes-LOCAL FOLDERS.
If you want to add a folder - put a new folder in there and name it with extension .mbox.
It is so simple.
