pensare a quale sistema sfruttare.

  • Saving a .pdf Created in Flare9 as Reader Extended PDF

    When I first installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro and built .pdfs from Flare, I was able to save the .pdf with the "Reader Extended PDF" function. Now, that capability is no longer available and in order to access this feature I must save the .pdf and open X Pro, open the saved document and save, again, as X Pro. However, the actual commenting feature seems to be "hosed," and, in my capacity as a technical writer, this has gotten a bit frustrating. Is there something in the properties of X Pro that I need to reset? Thank you.

    Not sure I understand the isssue. How were you building PDF files from Flare and getting a "Reader Extended PDF"?  Was this a menu or option in Flare?  For Acrobat it's always been either Save as [Extended Option], Send for Shared Review, or LiveCycle Reader Extension Server to get an Extended PDF file.  Also, if your users have Adobe Reader XI, they can comment with Sticky Notes and Highlighters by default now.

  • Reader Extended PDF not working for some users

    I've created a document in Adobe X Pro and saved it as a Reader Extended PDF with Enabled Commenting & Markup. Most users are having no problem adding comments (by attaching a file) but I have a few users having issues (one with Adobe Reader 9 for Mac and one with Adobe Reader X for Windows). They are seeing the bar at the top telling them they cannot save data in the form, and they do not have access to any of the commenting or markup features.
    Thoughts?

    Which web browsers are they using to download the PDF file?  If you send them the Extended PDF file via email are they able to connect to the Shared Review?

  • When I try to save a form as "Reader Extended PDF" in Acrobat Pro, I get an error message "This document could not be reader enabled".

    Hello,
    When I try to save a form as “Reader Extended PDF” in Acrobat Pro, I get an error message “This document could not be reader enabled”.
    The steps I’m following are described below:
    1.    Insert electronic signatures
    - In Tasks, click on “Add New Field -> Digital Signature”.
    - Move the square to the place where you want to put the signature and click.
    - Fill in the “field name” with the name of the person who has to sign here.
    - When it is done, click anywhere on the screen.
    - In Tasks, click on “Close Form editing”.
    - Go to menu “File -> Save as -> Reader Extended PDF ->Enable additional features”, click on “Save now”.
    - Fill in the file name and click on “Save”.
    2.    Save the Form
    - In Tasks, click on “Close Form editing”.
    - Go to menu “File -> Save as -> Reader Extended PDF ->Enable additional features”, click on “Save now”.
    - Fill in the file name and click on “Save”.
    I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.0.0 on a W7 workstation
    Here's a screenshot of the problem.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Safari 5.1.2: Where is the built-in RSS Reader theme stored?

    Hi all,
    Safari's built-in RSS reader menus are displayed in wrong language on my system - does anybody know in which library Apple's blue RSS reader theme and/or it's ressources are stored, so I could check for missing language files? All hints I could find on the web are describing pre-5.1 versions of Safari, and after investigating my current libraries I'm sure the ressources changed, e.g. the SyndicationUI.framework under /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks.
    Does anybody have any hints for me?

    OK, here's what I'm talking about. This is a screen capture of a tab from the Macintosh version of Safari:
    Notice how the "X" to close the tab is on the left-hand side and the text of the tab is centered on the width of the tab.
    Here is a screenshot of the Windows version of Safari:
    You can see how the tab is much smaller for one, but also how the text is justified to the left with the "X" to close the tab appearing on the right side of the tab instead of the left.
    I don't really prefer one over the other (ie. left or right side), I just wondered if there's some setting to make them act the same way on both so that I don't have to constantly remember what OS I'm on in order to remember where the darn "X" is to close the tab.

  • How can I read Extended APDU input to the same buffer

    The following is the code I am currently using where inBuffer is an intermediate array of 1000 length. However, I do not want to allocate any buffers at all, and just want to send a command apdu of 1000 byte length and modify it in the code and return the modified buf in the response APDU.
    // Read extended APDU input
    byte[] buf = apdu.getBuffer();
    short bytesRead = apdu.setIncomingAndReceive();
    short dataOffset = apdu.getOffsetCdata();
    // store first chunk in our intermediate byte array <-- how do i get rid of the intermediate array
    Util.arrayCopyNonAtomic(buf, dataOffset, inBuffer, (short) 0, bytesRead);
    // what is the overall length?
    short overallLength = apdu.getIncomingLength();
    short messageOffset = bytesRead;
    if (bytesRead != overallLength){ // otherwise we're finished, all bytes received
         short received = 0;
         do{
                   received = apdu.receiveBytes((short)0);
                   Util.arrayCopyNonAtomic(buf, (short)0, inBuffer, messageOffset, received);
                   messageOffset  += received;
              } while(received != 0);
    * REST OF CODE IN PROCESS METHOD
    I have also tried replacing the above code with the following
    short bytesLeft = (short) (buffer[ISO7816.OFFSET_LC] & 0x00FF);
    if (bytesLeft < (short)55) ISOException.throwIt( ISO7816.SW_WRONG_LENGTH );
    short readCount = apdu.setIncomingAndReceive();
    while ( bytesLeft > 0){
      // process bytes in buffer[5] to buffer[readCount+4];
      bytesLeft -= readCount;
      readCount = apdu.receiveBytes ( ISO7816.OFFSET_CDATA );
    as shown in the javadocs API, but it does not compile.
    This is my command APDU:
    /send 800100000003E8000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000003E8

    I am using JavaCard 3.0 with JCOP in Eclipse. How can I read the extended length apdu to the same buffer? I have no problem in returning an extended length response APDU. Thanks a lot for the help.

    You should not call the convenience method setIncomingAndReceive() in your first code. Please find out about the different APDU states. Furthermore, your Applet should implement the ExtendedLength tagging interface.

  • How to read Extended user property in oracle BPM?

    Hi,
    I have tried using the XPATH expression in Data Association to read an Extended User Property defined in Oracle BPM Workspace. Actually I'm using Active Directory for authentication, and as there is limitations for modifying existing AD to accommodate custom fields required for BPM Processes, I created an Extended User  Property called Department Code and mapped it for all users who should be participating in the process. Now I want to read this Department Code and display in ADF Form (Human Task Form).
    I tried something like this using XPATH Expr. in Data Association for Human Task :
    ids:getUserProperty(bpmn:getProcessInstanceAttribute('creator'), 'departmentCode')
    But it appears that using Identity Function exposed for Xpath we can only read some pre-defined set of properties associated with internal LDAP for weblogic. So please suggest what is the approach one should follow in order to read Extended User Properties defined in Oracle BPM Workspace.
    I'm using Oracle SOA 12.1.3 and JDeveloper 11.1.17 deployed on Windows 7

  • Why can't I save the form I created in Acrobat XI as a Reader Extended PDF?

    I created and saved the document just like I have always done, with form and signature fields.  When I click file>save as>reader extended, it let's me go through and name a new verison of the file, but then says "This document cannot be saved as reader enable."  It gives no reason.  If I can't save it as reader enabled, as I've done in the past with every single form, I'd like to know WHY so that I can fix it.

    I have run into this issue at times too. If you have the original document that you used to create the form saved in a folder in Windows Explorer, try closing Windows Explorer before saving the document with reader extended properties enabled. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesnt. . .

  • File Save As Other Reader Extended PDF Enable Commenting & Measuring GRAYED OUT

    I have an PDF form created in Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 10.0.
    When I open in Reader, All the "Sign" options are grayed out.
    Under "Properties" Signing is allowed but Commenting is not.
    From all I have seen, I hope that allowing Commenting will allow me to use the sign features.
    The only solution I'm finding on the internet is below:
    File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Commenting & Measuring
    It is grayed out in my (latest version of) Acrobat pro.
    **Is there a way to make this option available?**
    **Will this even solve my problem?**
    **Is it possible that it is impossible to use these features on this document?**
    At this point, I've spent about two and a half hours on this issue and haven't been able to find a solution. Very frustrated.
    Thanks.

    Thanks. I'm not an IT person and needed that lead.
    In the end, I just printed to Adobe PDF and then was able to use the commenting options (once I had flattened it). For those who might come across this - this is one of the only ways to flatten a XFA PDF.

  • Problem trying to make a LC Designer ES4 form "Reader Extended" in Acrobat XI Pro

    I have a form that I created in LC Designer ES4 that I was able to successfully "Reader Extend" using Acrobat XI Pro.  I added a script to the form to allow for the deselecting of radio buttons (which I found on this forum), and now I cannot Reader Extend the form.
    Here are the specifics of my environment:
    Acrobat XI Pro - Ver. 11.0.10
    Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES4 - Ver.  11.0.20130826.2.901444
    Windows 7 Professional, SP1
    Here's the error I am getting in the Acrobat debugger:
    Exception in line 1 of function top_level, script Document-Level:!ADBE::0100_VersChkStrings
    InvalidGetError: Get not possible, invalid or unknown.  Doc.layout:1:Document-Level:!ADBE::0100_VersChkStrings
    This error message appears at the very bottom of the debugger window:
    Unable to find source for Document-Level:!ADBE::0100_VersChkStrings
    Acrobat XI Pro does not allow me to save the new file, and gives this error:
    This document could not be Reader enabled.
    I used the chat support for Acrobat XI Pro, and was told that this is a LC Designer issue.  Since there's no phone support for LC (at least not free), I came to this forum for help.
    Here's the script object (JavaScript) that I inserted into the main subform:
    form1.Main.#variables[0].RBClear_Script_Object - (JavaScript, client)
    var rbs = new Object();
    function handleRBClick(o)
        if (rbs[o.name]==null)
            rbs[o.name]=o.rawValue;
        else{
            if (rbs[o.name] == o.rawValue)
                o.selectedMember().rawValue = 0;
                o.execEvent('change');
            rbs[o.name] = o.rawValue;
    I then call the above function from within a radio button's group list object (not individual items).
    form1.Main.Subform_Stock_Detail.Table2.Row3.Subform_Responsibility.RadioButtonList::click - (JavaScript, client)
    RBClear_Script_Object.handleRBClick(this);
    This all works fine when I preview the form from within LC Designer ES4.  I then open the dynamic PDF form in Acrobat XI Pro, click File, Save as Other..., Reader Extended PDF, then Enable More Tools.
    Acrobat shows the errors at the top of this post within the Acrobat debugger window.  When I close debugger, Acrobat does not allow me to save the new file, and gives this error:
        This document could not be Reader enabled.
    I've been searching for days and cannot find any resolution to this issue.  It appears to me that this is a security related issue, and Acrobat does not like the running of a function within the form.  Just a guess.  I can't think of anything else.
    Anyone come across this issue, and how were you able to fix it?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dean

    Although I did not find a cause for the errors, I did find a workaround in my case.
    This only happens when running the Javascript Debugger in Acrobat XI Pro.  If you turn it off, you can Reader Extend the document.  If you turn it on, you have to cycle through all of the debugger errors/warnings using the arrow button in the top left corner of the debugger window, then close that window.  Still not sure what the errors are for, but at least I got the form to work.

  • Can't open a reader extended pdf in IE

    I have a form that was originally a word document and then converted to a pdf.  I used Acrobat X Pro to create form fields and then saved it as a reader extended pdf with enabled additional features.  I uploaded it to my web server and it opens fine in Google Chrome & Firefox, but when I try to open it with internet explorer I get a Runtime Error! message.
    I uploaded it without the reader extended features and had the same result.  I then uploaded the original converted pdf before I added the form fields and it opens fine in internet explorer.  I am using Windows 7 and IE 8.  I checked with someone using XP and IE 8 and they were able to open it with no problems.  Not sure about Vista, but it seems there is something with Windows 7 using IE 8 and the form fields that is causing the problem.  Can anyone help?
    thanks

  • Is it possible to import data into a Reader Extended PDF created in Livecycle?

    Hi there,
    I make a lot of Reader Extended forms for my company. When I issue form updates, sometimes staff have to re-copy or re-type records into forms with repeating subforms.  I'd like to be able to jumpstart their process by importing from an old, filled-out form, into my new updated form.
    I've found I can do this by making an XML data file of the data from the old form, but I can't import into an Extended from using Adobe Reader. Most of our staff don't have Acrobat, so they aren't able to save data into non-extended forms.
    Is this clear, what I'm asking? Import XML data into Reader Extended form.
    Thanks for any help you can give,
    Laura

    Hi,
    It's indeed possible to import data in a reader enabled form with Reader.

  • Problem saving Reader extended PDF created in Livecycle with Javascript functions built in

    Afternoon
    I have created an interactive PDF in Livecycle with built in Javascript functionality.  I need users to be able to complete and save the PDF so have saved it as a Reader extended PDF.  The problem I'm having is that when a user completes the form,saves it, and then opens it again the Javascript functionality is not showing despite showing the original selection that the user has made.  The Javascript is simply a dropdown menu that will show a different table based on the selection so isn't anything major.
    I've trawled forums and this is driving me mad so I'd appreciate some help.
    I am using Adobe Pro XI.
    Thanks in advance
    Ben

    At the moment I can't sorry.  I've run the Javascript debugger in Adobe Pro and it seems there are some errors

    Basically the form has been built in Livecycle Designer and have drop down menus that show or hide tables depending on the selection but when I Reader Enable the form and users make a selection and then save the form it is not showing the table when it is opened again.
    I appreciate your help

  • PDF fillable form saved as reader extended version will not open in reader on ipad2

    Technically, they can be opened but we will only display the placeholder page asking you to "wait" =). The form content is not viewable or fillable.

  • Form Creation in Acrobat X Pro - unable to save as Reader Extended PDF

    I am using Acrobat X Pro on the Windows 7 OS. I have created a document in Word (Office 2010), saved it as a PDF and added form fields. When I try to Save As Reader Extended PDF, the options are grayed out. How do I create a form from a Word document that allows all end users to be able to type in the fields, use a digital signature, save a copy and print the PDF with the completed fields?

    In create the document in MS Word and save the file. Then I select print, and choose Adobe PDF as my printer to save it as a PDF. I then open the PDF file and select Tools, Forms, to create the form and add fields as needed. After I'm finished, I attempt to "Save As" and try to select Reader Enabled PDF, but the options are grayed out and unavailable.
