Rss Widget don´t refresh

Hi,
I´m using iweb for my music website http://www.montelunai.com and using some Rss Widget for some information. The problem is that the Rss Widget is not refreshing, even after waiting for some days...
Any help?

Exactly the same problem here. See www.k-pro.nl.
I am not sure but this issue may have started after installing Snow Leopard.
Any help much appreciated.
Hans.

  • GW 2012 - RSS-Feeds don't refresh automatically

    Hello everybody!
    Our Novell GroupWise 2012 runs on terminal server. There is no problem in adding RSS-Feeds to your GroupWise system. But if you want to configure a refreshing interval, no refreshing will happen. You must refresh the Feeds manually.
    Installing GroupWise 2012 local on a pc, everthing ist fine even the refreshing interval works.
    I have no idea how to solve this problem and I hope anybody can help me.
    Thanking you in anticipation!

    I don't know of any setting that you could specifically set for this to work... possibly terminal services disables something that is used by the update mechanism.,
    In any case & good to know, which client version (build number/sp level) are you using on the terminal server?

  • Rss Widget

    I tried using the rss wedget for the the first time and it didn't work.
    I published the website and then visited it,. I navigated to the page that I wanted show up in the rss feed. I coppied the web adress and pasted it in the rss widget where you put the url. When I clicke on apply it said something like un- availble at this time or something to that effect. Am I using this correctly? The web address I'm putting is is a mobile me, but the rss widget is on a non mobile me account, a .com account. does any of this matter.

    Hi guys,
    Having a strange issue with my default RSS reader, I was connected to the WIFI at home yesterday evening, as usual multi-tasking I had opened Web browser and at the same time I wanted to refresh the RSS feeds. The phone got completely stuck with a white screen and I had no way to end the tasks, I ended up turning the unit off by holding the power button down. Ever since then the RSS widget is just stuck with (no feeds) on the screen and there is no way of opening the application, it just seizes up. I would like to reinstall the widget but have no idea of how to do so. Could somebody help?
    in x-terminal type the following :
    rm .osso_rss_feed_reader/searchentries
    than restart the device, that should fix it .

  • RSS widget in iWeb. Can someone help?

    Hi There,
    I am having an issue with iWeb and the RSS widget.
    Having created a website for my company, i wanted to put our twitter feed on the home page using RSS. Now obviously twitter have stopped making it easy to use the RSS service, however i managed to track down the link that the RSS is on.
    This link was http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.rss?screen_name=(inserttwitterna me). So i changed the last part to our twitter name making the link look like this:
    http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/user_timeline.rss?screen_name=bluecrewuk
    This link worked on the iWeb page for about 5 minutes, and has now stopped working. Yet that link still takes me to the real RSS feed if i paste it into my web browser.
    If anyone can help, that would be great!

  • RSS Widget: Feed is not live online but works when building screen

    I use the RSS widget in iWeb, the feed "loads" in the program I publish the page then do my FTP transferring the folder, html page and feed.xml with my host but the page (http://www.savingtherepublic.com/STRBlog.html) the feed is embedded in is blank
    I took a screen shot to show it is working but I cannot upload the image to this board so "you" can see it is in fact done right, otherwise I would get errors that the feed in inaccessible etc.
    So what am I missing? I followed a vid and the "learn more" instructions to a 'T'
    this is the url input in the subscription box for the widget feed://savingtherepublic.wordpress.com/rss.xml

  • Writing an RSS widget in Dashcode.

    Hello,
    I am writing an RSS widget in dashcode. Normally, I know its a very simple task. However, I need to make the RSS URL editable within the widget itself.
    I have changed the setFeedSource(attributes.FeedURL) to setFeedSource(textfield.value)
    It seems to be working fine. However, I have the default value set to: "Paste RSS URL here".
    The widget reads: "http://Place RSS URL here." is not a valid RSS feed.
    When I go to change the value of the textfield to a valid RSS URL, the widget does not pick up the change and try to reload the RSS with the new value (URL). Instead, it just says "http://Place RSS URL here." is not a valid RSS feed.".
    I have tried a Refresh button with a onClick(refreshFeed).
    Any ideas?
    Thanks so much!

  • Rss widget won't update

    I recently updated my blog but the rss widget won't update with the new entry, I've waited a full day. The rss feed address is: http://www.berrylibrary.com/Blog/rss.xml
    Apple Mail, Google Reader, etc. all get the update but the iWeb RSS Widget refuses. I also took the widget out and put it back with no success.

    Here is my trick to get my rss feed fixed:
    Make a change in the Inspector that only affects the blog (but all entries), like disabling comments and right away enabling them again in the rss window of the Inspector (I don't know for sure but this could erase your existing comments); that will return the images in the right places or put them back if they disappeared altogether. This will also clean up the rss feed.
    Disabling comments crashes iWeb, so it is important to enable it immediately after having disabled it, so you click in fact twice in the check box, off and on again.
    But you will have to do this each time you add a post to your blog, or to any of your blogs, because it seems a change in one blog or site may have a damaging effect on an other blog.

  • Anyone know why RSS widget gets stuck at "downloading RSS feed"

    I have added a RSS widget to a page in iWeb and it just sits there at "downloading RSS feed" - when I publish the page there is some RSS feed data there but only a small amount and it's quite old.
    The feed I'm using works perfectly in a safari browser but not via the widget - I'm running iLfe11 iWeb 3.0.3 (501) and OS X 10.6.7
    Any help please?

    There is a whole lot of extraneous material in the feed: I'm not familiar with SquareSpace so I don't know the procedure, but I assume you've started as a weblog page with a lot of text and images and the feed has been taken from that. It's probably harmless as iTunes should simply ignore it, though it does make the feed very difficult to read.
    The matter of the media file is more difficult. I'm afraid the simple answer is something you don't want to hear - give up on SquareSpace and go somewhere else. If you host your files on a normal webspace server - with only the caveat that it must support 'byte-range requests' which is mandatory, so you need to ask about this before committing yourself - you shouldn't have any trouble. Some of these weblog creation services can cause problems, though I don't know of any specific issue with SquareSpace.

  • IWeb RSS Widget Clone for non RSS?

    I love the iWeb RSS Widget for displaying information. Does anyone know how to clone it so that you can use it with your own content that is not an RSS feed. I would love to repurpose it for use to display paragraphs of info on my site, without having to have it say loading and load the fake rss feed.
    Thanks!

    I think it's impossible. But you can display your own content in an RSS feed, it's easy to create your own RSS feed with a text editor : http://www.make-rss-feeds.com/making-an-rss-feed.htm .
    And if you find it too complicated, you can use a software like [Feeder|http://reinventedsoftware.com/feeder>.

  • Validation widget don't work in regions?

    Is it true, Validation Widget don't work in regions? If I
    create a text validation widget, then wrap it in a region for xml
    data, the validation no longer functions for the widget. Is there
    something I'm missing here, or does it simply not work in that
    configruation?
    Thanks,
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,
    There is a workaround to have the validation widgets working
    inside a spry:region.n
    The reason why they don't work inside a region is because the
    spry region removes anything from page when it is created. In this
    way, the widget remains somewhere in the memory instantiated and
    will search from an element that no longer exists.This will make
    the widget to not function properly.
    You should do the following to have the widgets working
    inside a spry:region.
    - add the widgets' constructors instantiation inside the
    region
    - make an extra check if the widgets already exist and
    destroy them if any. I
    Below is a code sample of what you should do:
    <div spry:region="ds1">
    <form id="form1" name="form1" method="post" action="">
    <span id="sprytextfield1">
    <input type="text" name="text1" id="text1" />
    <span class="textfieldRequiredMsg">A value is
    required.</span></span>
    <p><span id="sprytextarea1">
    <label>
    <textarea name="textarea1" id="textarea1" cols="45"
    rows="5"></textarea>
    <span id="countsprytextarea1"> </span>
    </label>
    <span class="textareaRequiredMsg">A value is
    required.</span><span
    class="textareaMinCharsMsg">Minimum number of characters not
    met.</span><span class="textareaMaxCharsMsg">Exceeded
    maximum number of characters.</span></span></p>
    <p>
    <input type="submit" name="button" id="button"
    value="Submit" />
    </p>
    </form>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    if (typeof sprytextfield1 != 'undefined' &&
    sprytextfield1.destroy) sprytextfield1.destroy();
    if (typeof sprytextfield1 != 'undefined' &&
    sprytextfield1.destroy) sprytextfield1.destroy();
    var sprytextfield1 = new
    Spry.Widget.ValidationTextField("sprytextfield1");
    var sprytextarea1 = new
    Spry.Widget.ValidationTextarea("sprytextarea1",
    {validateOn:["blur", "change"], counterType:"chars_count",
    counterId:"countsprytextarea1", minChars:2, maxChars:12});
    //-->
    </script>
    </div>
    Hope this makes things more clear,

  • Blog Address not working in the RSS Widget

    I just updated to iWeb '09 and am trying to put my blog address into my website using the RSS Widget. However, it seems that the widget won't accept the address saying "The RSS feed source can't be reached" Am I missing something?

    Throwing my hat in on this one today as well. Worked fine yesterday, this morning nothing. As you noted i can paste to the calculator widget but not back out from it. Have repaired permissions and trashed the dashboard prefs to no avail. Other widgets are still able to Copy & Paste without issue - seems constrained to Calculator itself.

  • RSS Widget problems.

    I have created on iWeb a website, then a second site which has a couple of blogs. 2 blogs I'm trying to feed via rss widget to the main website. There are a couple of issues here.
    Website is:
    www.(mywebsite).com/members/index.html
    The blogs are here:
    www.(mywebsite).com/members/services/Cast/Diary/Diary.html
    www.(mywebsite).com/members/services/Cast/Whiteboard/Whiteboard.html
    I've copied the url into the widget box but neither show up: feed://www.(mywebsite).com/members/services/Cast/Diary/rss.xml etc.
    Secondly when I click on the link on that page it returns me to http://www.(mywebsite).com/Cast/Diary/Diary.html (missing some folders in between.
    This is a bit new to me to I appreciate your help.

    You can merge two domain files with iWebSites.

  • Panels Don't Refresh Fast Enough

    My app does some CPU-intensive processing work on multiple files at a time.
    The user opens a file chooser, selects some files, hits go, and it processes the files. So on the closing of the file chooser, a for loop iterates through the selected files and processes them.
    I have a JTextArea that I want to print a success message to after each file's been processed. But when the file chooser closes, the app starts processing the files and prints all the success messages at once at the end.
    I'm pretty sure it's because the UI components don't refresh, since a System.err.println() call works the way I want the TextArea to work.
    I've tried revalidate() and repaint() on each of the UI components, but they don't seem to update until all the files have finished.

    Some pseudocode:
    File[] files = fileChooser.getSelectedFiles();
    //iterate through selected files and process them
    for (int i = 0; i < files.length; i++){
    path = checkFile(files);
    processFile(path);
    textArea.printConsole("Processed file: " + path + "\n");

  • RSS Widget Feed Out-of-Date on Landing (Widget) Page

    Yesterday there were some iWeb 09 RSS Widget feed issues that Apple seemed to fix, BUT they now have a delay worked in to the the iWeb 09 RSS Widget feeds.
    I have an RSS Widget on my site's landing page at http://macroads.com pulling a feed from my articles (blog) page. When the two are compared, the Widget feed is yesterday's news
    If Apple is spooling the Widget feeds somewhere, what's up with that?

    It finally synced up, but this is the second day in a row that articles have not appeared in a reasonable time after publishing. Both days, at least 18hrs out of phase. And, it was not ip server caching, as other parts of the page did reflect changes after edit updates.
    Thanks for taking a look, but you were not noticing the RSS widget behavior as described compared to its source "Articles" (blog) page, AND I have no idea where your "feedburner" idea came from.

  • RSS Widget works locally but not on website

    I used the RSS widget to insert the following RSS feed:
    feed://www.bpkids.org/updates.xml
    I have also tried inserting with http:// instead of feed:// but no difference
    When I publish the site and check it on my local folder, it works. But when I post it to my website, it shows nothing.
    This is the first time I've used the RSS widget. It seems straight forward enought, however, I've read in these discussions that there was a bug with the RSS widget recently that was causing it not to work and wasn't sure if this is still a problem. Thanks

    That is a crossdomain issue because you have the site
    accessible via www or without.
    If you use
    http://www.sneeple.com/media_test/index.html
    to access that page it will work.
    Here's what to do to fix it:
