RSTRUI.exe application error - cannot recover?

Hi,
I have a Windows 7 64-bit HP laptop, and when it boots, it detects some kind of error, and tries to repair it. During the repair attempts, a window appears titled "RSTRUI.exe - application error" with something like an instruction at one location (the same each time) cannot read (write?) from some other location (usually different). It then halts the attempt and reboots, only to find the first error again, and cycle back to this error.
I have a backup of the entire disk (partitions, data, apps, and faulty OS).
I recently saw a post somewhere else about SFC /SCANNOW, and tried that, but it says that there is a pending repair reboot, and that must complete before SFC can run.
The laptop is a model HP Pavilion dv6-1366dx.
TIA!
Andy

Hi Andy,
See if you can boot into Safe Mode by tapping away at f8 as you start the notebook.  Use the arrow keys to select safe Mode and hit enter.
If  windows will load in this mode, click the Start Menu, click Computer, left click Local Disc C once to highlight it, right click Local Disc C and select Properties.  Click the Tools tab and then click the button to 'Check the Drive for Errors'.  In the following window make sure both boxes are ticked and then click Start.  Part of this process will require a restart to check the drive.
Regards,
DP-K

how many instances do you have ? what are you trying to deploy (war, jar or ear)? how do you access the application ?, I mean do you go through any webserver ?, have you configured the webserver plugin correctly ?

  • Itunes.exe - Application error  ..... memory cannot be read

Using version 10.3.1.55 (although the problem has existed in previous version for a few months now)
After using the computer for a few hours - when I close it down I get a box saying:-
    iTunes:iTunes.exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x64761602 referenced memory at 0x06294238. The memory could not be read.
Click OK to terminate the program.
This often happens after Shockwave has crashed in CHROME - but has also happened without Shockwave crashing.

  • Disp+work.EXE - Application Error

    Hi,
    I downloaded both rars in
c:\netweaver and unzipped the first rar in c:\netweaver as well and started the installation.
After some time the installation was finished without any warnings,
however when I clicked the 'start SAP' checkbox I got the disp+work.EXE application error.
The instruction at "0x0043ffa8" referenced memory at "0x00000030". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program
    Click on Cancel to debug.
When I stop and then start the system with the provided batch programs I get the exact same message...
I tried rebooting the machine, but that didnt help.
I run XP professional, SP 2.
Any hints or tips on this situation ?
    Cheers,
    T.

I am not a basis person, so I have no clue about these things ?
    1. Check Virtual memory in sap system, if it is less increase VM (1500 to 2500MB)
    How ?
    2. Apply latest kernel release/version.
    How ?
    3. Also Check version of disp+work -v at OS level.
Seems to work, I get a large list of OSS notes.
    4. Finally restart sap system, it should work.
In the log I find that it cannot connect to the database, but I can perfectly log in to the database , so maybe there is a last services or host file entry missing ?
    Cheers,

  • Winlogon.exe application error

I am new to the family of apple and i-pods. I have recently purchased an i-pod nano and an i-pod. After installing for the first time the i-tunes and quick time software on my notebook I discovered that when I tried to reboot my computer for completing the installation process the following message <<winlogon.exe application error>> appeared followed by the blue windows screen <<STOP:C000021a {Fatal System Error} The windows logon process system process terminated unexpectedly with status 0 the system has been shut down>>. Every time from then on when I tried to shut down my laptop I got the same message. When I unistalled the sofware and applied system restore everything worked fine. Since then, I tried 3 times with updated versions of i-tunes and quick time but I still have the same problems and in order to keep my laptop working properly I keep unistalling them and use system restore, but this way I cannot use either software or my i-pods. Can anynone help me?

I am using T400 2767-A67 with WinXP which installed by myself, I got blue screen error when I tried to change the password. I checked some old post there, I uninstall the "Thinkpad Wireless LAN Adapters Software" which is version 7.4.2.105 from "add/remove program", and download the old version 5 from the following link. The problem was fixed after I installed the version 5.
I hope Lenovo will release a newer version of this software for fixing this error.

How are the recovery discs not working? If you put the first disc in the optical drive and press any key shortly after turing on your computer, you should boot the recovery menu so that you can completely recover your computer.
Also, this might have something to do with Windows Product Activation??? If you've added any internal hardware devices, remove them and make sure you unplug all USB devices. Only have the mouse, keyboard and monitor connected when you attmpt to do a recovery.

  • DDE Server Window: QuicktimePlayer.exe - Application Error

    Good evening,
I bought an Iphone 4. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to install Itunes and Quicktime. Unfortunately, after the complete installation I have this error message... DDE Server Window: QuicktimePlayer.exe - Application Error
I tried to uninstall everything, no result. I tried to change session, the 2 other administrators have the same error message. I cannot run any Apple application (Quicktime, Itunes, Safary).
My computer technician told me that is is a Windows problem and I have to reformat and start everything over.... How can I avoid this??? Please help.

Strange. You see DDE errors associated with Safari every now and then (when opening email links), but it's very odd to see them feature as part of start-up errors for iTunes, Safari and QuickTime.
Let's try a few measures relating to fixing Windows operating system problems that don't involve a complete windows reinstall.
First, check to see that your Microsoft .NET framework is up-to-date and functioning properly, as per:
[iTunes for Windows: "iTunes was not installed properly. Please reinstall iTunes" message|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3074]
Does that help with the start-up errors?
If not, perhaps try an sfc /scannow as per:
    http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
    Does that help at all?

create a new template or when I try to change the template assigned

Each time the project crashed, I tried to recreate the same
template but it was already there. So I tried importing it but that
    didn't work.
Although I'm using FlashHelp, which reports the hhp file as
"unused." I tried Peter Grainge's suggestion regarding deleting xpj
and cpd files and then using the hhp file to recreate my project
files. This was fine except all of the templates that I had created
vanished from the template folder. Because they were missing from
the Templates folder, I was again confused as to what I should do
as far as deleting or importing the templates to ensure that my
version info displayed in the topic footers..
I want to convert this project to Rh6 but am hesitant to do
so until I've debugged the problem with this intermittent
    error.

This has been covered in the forums before, but instead of searching, try this:
Search for the file "cmsnxeye.exe" yields three locations:
    1) C:\Program Files\TARGUS\ACP50\Driver\CMdrv
    2) C:\windows\system
    3) C:\windows\prefetch\cmsnxeye.exeXXXXX.pf
Delete the files in BOTH 2) and 3) and reboot. Let the board know how you do.

  • Pcsync2.exe application error 0x00000034

I'm having trouble with Nokia PC Suite, I've uninstalled & reinstalled it several times and each time I get the error entitled "pcsync2.exe application error" with the following "The application failed to initialize properly (0x00000034) click OK to terminate the application"  What's odd is that during the install, I get errors relating to new hardware found & cannot install on other devices, usually a laser printer which works fine, so it's almost as if the Nokia software is attempting to install drivers for other devices.
I've googled the message without finding any reference to Nokia problems & wondered if anyone here can help.  If I'm honest, I'm just about hacked off with the poor quality of the software and am reluctantly considering getting a new phone from a different manufacturer as the outlook sync function is important to me.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Does Word start in Safe Mode?
Press Win key + R, type "winword.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
If Word can start in Safe Mode, the issue should be related to 3rd-party add-ins, disable the suspicious add-ins to determine which one caused the problem.
You can also try repairing Office from Control Panel -> Programs and Features, check if this helps.
