RSZDELETE not deleting

Okay, I am a BW newbie here, so please bear with me.  We outsourced our initial implementation so many "golden" queries were already developed and then transported from Test->Quality->Production.  Now, we have some changes to those queries.  Therefore, I modified in Test and transported to Quality and Production.  However, it appears that duplicate technical names and generated ID's are existing in the Quality and Production environments; resulting in the wrong version of the query being displayed in the BEX Analyzer.  I did confirm that there were duplicates in table RSZCOMPDIR.  So I attempted to use RSZDELETE to delete the duplicate entry.  I input the generated ID into the selection screen, and voila, the appropriate query was brought up in the list.  I highlighted it, selected the Execute button.  Then I was prompted to confirm that I really wanted to delete.  I said "Yes".  Then I was abruptly returned to the selection screen.  I checked RSZCOMPDIR and the entries still remained - nothing was deleted.  I suspected perhaps I had an authorization issue.  I immediately ran transaction SU53 but all authorization checks passed.  I even attempted (just a little) to debug RSZDELETE and I did see several authorization checks that I seemed to pass.  What am I missing?  Why will RSZDELETE not DELETE?!

When you run transaction RSZDELETE to delete the queries, and it will also prompt if you want to delete any associated workbooks. Answer "Yes" and they will be deleted also (including favorites).
Also, if you have deleted queries in the past without deleting the workbooks, you can run program RRMX_WORKBOOKS_GARBAGE_COLLECT to find and/or delete these "orphaned" workbooks.
Check the associated Security roles have also been transported.
The technical names may no longer match in the role definition and you may need to do a new "save as" into
the role or rebuild the roles manually.
