RT Cache is full

Working in FCE HD. I am working on a large project (16 minutes long, over 200 pictures and videos). Whenever I add a still picture, transition or a movement to picture, it requires re-rendering that picture. Sometimes it takes 10 to 15 seconds per picture, sometimes it takes over a minute. I can manipulate huge HD video files and no rendering is required. Placing my curser on the red render bar reveals this message that reads something like: "RT Cache is full - increase size in system preferences".
Where do I do this?

FCE>System Settings>second panel Memory and Cache. Increase the still memory allocation.
Also switched to Unlimited RT and live with the dropped frames.
What format are you working in? How large are the images, the frame resolution?

  • I used to be able to download a lot of cd's, now I cannot download more than one or two cd's at a time. I am told that my 'cache' is full and I need to re-start iTunes to clear some of the 'cache' memory. What is the cache and how do I resolve this?

    CD download problems:
I used to be able to download numerous cd's at a time but now I can only do one or two until I restart iTunes. I have been told that my 'cache' is full and will only empty a little a each restart. I did look at the properties and the 'cache' is showing full How do I correct or improve

Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor.  The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow.  It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them.  You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version).  Personal preferences showing here.

  • "RT still cache is full" need to render real-time titles

So I have this problem where at a certain point in my sequence title effects that normally don't need to be rendered suddenly do for the rest of the sequence's duration. when I hold my cursor over the red bars above the timeline is says "RT still cache is full. you can allocate more memory in the system preferences...." but when I do ( change the allocation from 10% to more than that) it either does nothing or makes the problem worse. does anyone know how to get final cut to honor it's realtime abilities with longer sequences? (I'm working with hour+ sequences that are entirely subtitled...)
Is this a result of a 3 gig RAM limit per app? I have 6.5 gigs of RAM. thanks!

  • What's supposed to happen to SharePoint when the IIS blob cache is full?

Can someone possibly point me at a description of what's supposed to happen to SharePoint if the IIS blob cache directory fills up?
I've seen postings from MS saying that you need to keep the directory 20% bigger than the amount of files you might end up storing in there, but that's clearly not the whole answer.
I ask because we've had a problem today on SP2010 with files disappearing from people's sites as soon as they are uploaded, or being replaced with files of 0 bytes.   It seems to be caused by the blob cache directory being full, and SharePoint not making
any attempt to free up space in it.

For me, on Mac, the second (or more) time I open an image from Bridge or from Photoshop's Recent menu, it opens the image in ACR (7.2) a second time and appends a -2 to the file name once opened in Photoshop. Each time the image is opened up again, it adds an appended -x number. I'm pretty sure this is the expected behavior...

  • CapacityPolicy: Handling "cache is full"

I am working with Java Object Cache (in 10.1.3 dp4) and am having some problems with managing the size of the cache.
In my javacache.xml file, I set the max number of objects to some number (2000). Eventually, the size of the cache grows that big (well, not really ... the cache never gets that big but whenever I add things to the cache or update objects the number keeps going up even while other objects get invalidated, but that is an issue for another day ... or maybe just an issue with what 'object count' really means). When the limit is reached I get what you would expect, a CacheFullException. That is where the problem begins though. The behavior I would have expected would be for the default Cache management policy that is described in the documentation to kick in. But, it does not. The cache never invalidates any objects and therefore never will allow any new objects in the cache. Or, maybe it is kicking in but the value for Cache.getObjectCount() never goes down.
So, my solution was to write my own custom CapacityPolicy. That was easy enough. Except, I am now not able to set my CapacityPolicy using javacache.xml. I can set the CapacityPolicy for a region or group using the API but it is not my region or cache that is filling up, it is my cache. And, using the api to set any of the Cache attributes does not seem to take effect unless I reinitialize the cache which is not something I feel like I should be doing (it is a distributed cache so I dont want to flush the cache clean each time I start up a server). So, my questions are these:
    1) Has anybody else seen something similar and if so, how did you solve the problem?
    2) Is it possible to define a capacity-policy in the javacache.xml (I could not find it defined in the xsd).
    Thanks,
    Greg

Reviving this old thread; I am seeing similar confusing behavior in that the default CapacityPolicy does not take effect - once I've inserted more than the maxObjects, I get CacheFullExceptions rather than old objects being expired. In my case I am using CacheAccess.put() to directly insert elements into the cache, though I'm not sure whether that's relevant or not.
Or is there something I need to do to the cache objects themselves to indicate that they can be expired?

  • Macbook is iccredibly slow like there is no ram or cache is full

What are the options to restart and hold  key down to perge RAm ? cache

Command (cloverleaf or Apple logo key)-option-escape lets you force quit a misbehaving application without saving its data, and not touching applications that are fine.
Boot with the shift key.  That limits the number of drivers at boot time.
If you get a four language screen telling you to restart, that's a kernel panic.
If you haven't already, backup your data.
Then we can isolate why issues are happening.

  • CS6 Disk Cache reporting as full when it's not

I put a 120GB Samsung Pro 840 Pro SSD on a Sonnet Tempo Card into my 4,1 Mac Pro to use a AE's Disk Cache, I set the disk cache to 100GB
Recently AE often reports that there is not enough available space on the drive for the cache when I start it up.  When I look at the drive in the OS, it says there is over 100GB available and the cache folder is 10GB in size.  A previous time the numbers were different but essentially the problem was the same - I should have a lot of free space but AE doesn't see it.
What the hell is going on?

That message does not say that the cache is full.
That message says that there is not enough room to safely store the amount of cache that you have specified.
So, the cache may only have 20GB in it now, but After Effects is telling you that if it fills to the full 100GB that you have specified, then you're going to run into problems.
This is meant as a polite forward-looking warning that you have set the total size of the folder too high for the amount of space that you have on your disk.
You should never fill a disk all the way full. You should always leave some free space. Opinions differ, but 20% is a good conservative amount to leave free.

  • IPhoto cache full of PDD files?

I'm trying to clean up my harddisc to make more available space and to help iPhoto run faster. My iPhoto cache is full of photoshop files, a ton of them, all 4KB. Should I empty it?? I don't really understand why there are PDD files in there...

That's odd. I don't have them in my iPhoto 6 library folder. Nor do they appear in lori_diloreto's diagram of an iPhoto 5 library folder: http://homepage.mac.com/loridilo/.Public/finder.jpg
If iPhoto is running slowly, perhaps it would help to run a database rebuild. Hold Option and Command while launching iPhoto. Select all 4 options in the dialog box, and leave it to run. For more info, read: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107947
If you're feeling brave you could move those .pdd files to your desktop. Then launch iPhoto and see what happens. If it's bad, close iPhoto and put them back.
Otherwise, heed PhillyPhan's PS and don't use the Finder to remove anything. It can lead to "bleeding ulcers."

  • Why is my cache full entries to my bookmarked sites after sorting those bookmarks

Fx 3.6.3. By default, all my history, cookies & cache are always cleared on close. I launched a new session and did nothing but sort my bookmarks. I did not visit any sites.
Yet my cache was full of entries to all of the sites whose bookmarks I had sorted.
Can someone explain to me why this happens? It seems like a privacy issue to me.
    == This happened ==
    Not sure how often
== I just noticed it today very randomly

    Hi Noah.
(I've been on holiday - my apologies for the delay in responding.)
Yes, it is a modification I made to prefs on a specific profile I use for testing projects related to internet privacy and security for a consumer privacy education nonprofit. I intentionally use this profile when submitting posts to see how Mozilla's own web properties handle such strings and to record the comments, if any, others make with regard to the modification; I do mention in my leading sentence I am (or was at that time, anyway) using Fx 3.6.3 just for that very reason, but I do apologize if it caused any confusion. I am happy to see Fx appears to respect the user's setting.
    So back on topic:
The cache I am referring to is the listing of entries that appear when typing
    <code>
    about:cache
    </code>
into the Awesome Bar. In my case, specifically, this would refer to the RAM cache as it is the only cache (of the three I know of: RAM, disk, and offline) enabled on any of my profiles.
I have attached a screen shot of the cache entries after I completed a manual sorting of 3 bookmarks just a few minutes ago; the key for each entry is the URL associated with each of the bookmarks sorted (by "sorting" I mean I took 3 bookmarks out of the Unsorted Bookmarks folder and dropped them into other folders according to my own personal bookmark classification protocol, ie: Wikipedia bookmarks go into one folder, Google bookmarks into another, bookmarks to sites related to Linux yet another, so on and so forth...) This was all done within the Bookmarks Organizer; no other windows were open and no pages loaded while I was moving the bookmarks.
The content of each cache entry is typically the html of the page the bookmark points to, if indeed the URL of the bookmark points to an html page, either directly (bookmark to www.example.com/page.html) or by some form of standard redirect/default server behavior (bookmark to www.example.com opens www.example.com/index.html, for instance, as the default Apache server behavior). Unfortunately, the screen shots of those pages are huge (1-2 mb in size saved as GIF!) so if you'd like to verify their content as I've reported here, the shots have been uploaded to ImageShack; these links are direct links to the file and because the screenshots are so big in size (because of the narrow column set up in the entries, the pages are VERY LONG), when the image first loads you'll just see what looks like a blurry vertical line, you'll have to zoom in to get it to be readable).
    [http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/1426/macportsorgcacheentryco.gif macports bookmark cache entry]
    [http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/7463/linuxorgcacheentrycompl.gif linux.org bookmark cache entry]
    [http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/6820/gpartedcacheentrycomple.gif gparted bookmark cache entry]
So, I am sure this is obvious, but when I am disconnected from the internet and repeat the sort process described above, the cache is empty.
The fact that the browser is making requests as the result of simply dropping a bookmark into one folder from another is potentially a privacy problem for the user, not to mention the server-side impact such behavior has on the accuracy of a web page's statistics.
These requests in the cache entries are not reflected in the browser History nor does the Bookmark Organizer indicate that activity has occurred - "Visit Date" on the 3 bookmarks referenced above shows a date other than today.
Also, you've piqued my curiosity - what is the folder you refer to that holds the "history cache"? What is the path to this folder in OS X as I don't have such a folder in any of my profiles - in OS X or in Linux either... the only folders present in my profiles are:
    *bookmarkbackups
    *chrome
    *extensions
    *minidumps
    *searchplugins
    Thanks in advance, cheers.

  • Questions on in-memory with disk based overflow cache.

    Hi, support
I want to create a cache which have two tiers, one is size limited local cache and the other uses a disk as a storage. As you said if the local cache is full, the other data will be moved to external cache (on disk). Does it mean the other data will be saved in a temp file? If so, could you let me know where is temp file? The config file is attached.
Btw, although I used on disk cache as a external cache, I got Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space also when I put lots of data into the cache.

    Hi, Jon
    Thanks for your help.
I will use an unconfigured LH file manager(I mean the file path and name will not be specified.).
Currently, find the temp file will be created in C:\Documents and Settings\$user_name\Local Settings\Temp in windows.
I have two questions on temp file.
    1) Does tangosol supply a mechanism to maintain the temp files?
    2) In solaris, which place will the temp file be created in?
    Thanks,

  • When I full crawl my MOSS 2007 site, it is Intializing my site repeatedly!

    Hi everyone
I'm using Moss 2007. When I did full crawl, it put out lots of logs. I read one of the logs and found that several strange parts on them.
    It sounds like ...
    1. It is initializing security for my subsite repeatedly.
    2. Cache is full
    3. My FileSharedLibrary allows no one to read items.
    1. It is initializing security for my subsite repeatedly.
I don't know why it is initializing my subsite again and again. I believe this made the logs so large...
    Here is the log.

    New User USERNAME456 Id 13 - File:d:\office\source\search\search\gather\protocols\sts3\sts3util.cxx Line:1073
    2. Cache is full
Also I think the log says the cache is full. But I have no idea this cache problem and the initializing problem are effecting each other or not.
    Remove V3 Cache, reason = oversize, committed 649506816 - File:d:\office\source\search\search\gather\protocols\sts3\sts3util.cxx Line:127

    3. My FileSharedLibrary access control allows no one to read items.
Thirdly, I got this error many times. (FileSharedLibrary is the feature of DocAve)
I searched "hr=80041211" and found MicroSoft said "Item will not be indexed. Its access control list allows no one to read the item. Used in GetSecurityDescriptor method of the IUrlAccessor interface.

I already checked DisabledLoopBackCheck is disabled, Crawl Account have a read access of my site properly, and I'm sure we have enough free space at C and D drives.
Actually I can use my SharePoint site normally with no problem and it does not show any error on my site. But I really need to know the reason why this three points are happening...in order to avoid a huge-size log gives damage to server when I full
    crawl next time...
Hope someone could help me to solve this problems

    Thank you Jaggi
I think this is the almost same page that i checked already and mensioned in my question
"hr=80041211" and found MicroSoft said "Item will not be indexed. Its access control list allows no one to read the item. Used in GetSecurityDescriptor method of the IUrlAccessor interface.
Do you think my problem is really because of anything Access control problem..?

  • " unable to allocate space from the buffer cache" Message

    Hi
I am trying to delete a large volume or records from a BTREE database. I have used the DB_SET_RANGE with a cursor to locate the desired records. After that the Dbc::get() with DB_NEXT is called. After deleting a considerable amount of records I am receiving a message in the error callback function as "unable to allocate space from the buffer cache".
What might be the reason for such a message.
    Regards
    Nisam

    Nisam,
This means that the cache is full and there are no pages that BDB can evict to make space. Are you running with the default cache size? You can increase the cache size by calling: dbenv->set_cachesize or db->set_cachesize.

I get a message that my CACHE is full. How do I clean that out?

If the CACHE volume is configured correctly, it will take care of
itself, and you should normally not get any messages about it.
    Is it traditional?
    No suballocation?
    No compression?
    8k or 16k block size?
