RTC alarm and bugreporter

Hi,
I have question about bug report page and this bug. It's very common Yosemite bug and after I reported it on bug report page they marked it as duplicate and as CLOSED. After Googling about that, it means that they solved problem, so why they don't release update? It's annoying  to have this bug. Also I reported bug which occurs when I change volume with buttons and on screen I get black corners on Volume status icon. They marked that as duplicate and as OPEN, which means they're working on it.
I don't really understand why it takes so long to solve those problems and release update. Apple has worlds top engineers and why aren't  they doing their job? Apple began to sink, they are working too fast on every field and none of that is almost perfect as it used to be. You don't need to release every year new OSX and iOS, but release stable and innovative version of it.

  • System wakes up automatically several times during sleep (logs says RTC Alarm) and improperly Ejects external HD. [MBPro Late 2012 + OSX Yosemite]

    Hi there,
    Background:
the main issue is that after system wake-up I find often several notification messages about my external drive not being properly ejected.
This seems to be a common issue for many Yosemite users, some say disabling Spotlight indexing for that volume solves the problem, but this is not my case. That's why I'm creating another thread.
    Multiple ejects:
Looking at system logs it comes out my MacBookPro with Yosemite when put in standby is actually waking up several times every approx 90 minutes to do something.
(MBP Late 2012: not a new MBP with PowerNap and thus cannot use nor disable it)
    Logs are like this:
    20/02/15 03:21:13,000 kernel[0]: Wake reason: RTC (Alarm)

    Questions:
    - What is WAKE REASON - RTC (ALARM) ? - Could it be linked to Auto Time&Date Setting?
    - Why disk3s2 is not present?
Disk is badly ejected only when connected through USB hub. When left connected to MBP USB port seems to behave fine.
Before Yosemite I've never had any problem with external HD connected to the hub.

I believe this is ready for submission for the Time Machine forum.
As noted, it does not cover diagnosis and correction of specific problems or errors, as that would seem to be better handled separately.
It also doesn't cover anything about Time Capsule, for the very good reason that I'm not familiar with them. If someone wants to draft a separate post for it, or items to add/update here, that would be great!
    Thanks very much.

  • RTC Alarm

    Hi
Can anyone explain what exactly the feature "Resume by RTC Alarm" does? The manual states that it boots up the system from the S5 state. As far as I know, S5 is an hibernating state, corresponding to off. Or I'm I wrong?   What is the S5 state? How do I put my system in S5? Does this mean that RTC Alarm will turn on my computer at a scheduled time? I tried using it with no sucess.  :biggthumbsdown:Thanks for any help.

Yes S5 is the Hibernate Mode (Not Standby S1 or S3 )...Do your self a Favor, and unless you need your PC to Wake up at a certain time everyday, Do Not Bother with this setting, as you will have more Headaches than it is worth..........Sean REILLY875

  • MSI K8N SLI Platinum: Resume by RTC Alarm doesn't work :(

    Hi folks,
I would like to make my computer boot at the concrete time everyday. I had such a possibility on my previous system. So I thought that setting this in BIOS will work but it doesn't :(
Well it works but not everyday. But let me tell the whole story. Lets suppose that I want my computer to start at 10 o'clock everyday.
So I go to BIOS and set the following things:
     Power Managment Setup ->
       Wake Up Event Setup ->
         Resume by RTC Alarm  [Enabled]
Date      0     (because setting anything else would make it starting only at the concrete day of the month -- right? And this is definately not the thing we want...]
            HH:MM:SS     10:00:00
Lets say that when I set that up it was 11 o'clock. So the day passes and the next day machine starts up at 10. Great! I use my computer for couple of hours, turn it off (from the operating system) another day passes and then at 10 o'clock computer doesn't wake up. :(
    What am I doing wrong?
I am using BIOS version 3.6 (update date 2005-07-22).

  • The audio on my 1st gen iPad is sporadic -- can't trust alarms and sometimesdownkoaded iTunes won't play.  What's going on?

My 1st generation IPad's audio is sporadic.  Can't trust alarms and sometimes downloaded iTunes will advance but nothing can be heard.  And yes, I have checked to be sure the audio Is turned on and the volume up high.  Can anyone help me?  Please don't tell me it's a hardware issue. . . .

I tried to install it, but now a little window pops up that says "The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory C:Program Files\Quick Time\QTSystem\Quick Time.Resources.en.lproj. The installation cannot continue. Log on as an administrator or contact your system administrator".
Although those messages do sometimes indicate a folder permissions problem, they can also be caused by disk damage. So let's try running a chkdsk over your C drive first.
See the following Microsoft document for instructions and a "Guided Help":
[How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265]
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, reboot the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly now?

  • Unwanted interface Alarms and Events in PI2.0

We receive a lot of interface events and alarms from our 3560s access ports. We have not deployed any interface monitoring yet but still hundreds of alarms and events warns us about interfaces going up and down. Anyone who know why Prime is monitoring all interfaces and how to disable that?
    Many tanks in advance

Additional lab tests shows that all interfaces of a device indeed is monitored by snmp. When an interface changes from UP to DOWN/DISABLE an event and an alarm is generated. We have not deployed any "Interface health montoring" and still the interfaces are monitored. Not good for access ports.
As a workaround we created a new Interface health monitoring template with the interface availability check disabled and just one other check enabled (interface util) and deployed it on two specific ports on a switch. Did not help. Alarms were still generated when the access ports were disabled.
    Any ideas?

  • How to set alarm and clear alarm in specific time

Hi in my project i have to set alarm when ever there is limit vilation and clear it when ther is no limit viloation. But the problem is i should not set alarm for every violation, ihave to check,in 10 sec if there are 3 violations then only i have to set alarm ,and this set alarm should occur where the first violation took place, and this should be wriiten in log file.
for example if iam measuring alarms, in 1-11(10) seconds,in 10 sec if i have only two alarms set and clears ,then no problem, again i have to check from 2-12(10)seconds,in this 10 sec if i have 3 or more alarm i have to set alarm, wher the first alarm set has occured i,e In 2-12 sec if there is alarm set at 3rd sec,6th sec and 10th sec then i have to set alarm at the 3rd sec and i have to clear alarm at 10th second.Again i have to check from 3-13 and so on.It seems to be complicated, but pls help me,iam attaching my VI:

  • Alarm and Event Query Very Slow

    Group,
I am using the DSC Alarm and Event Query vi to pull data from the SQL database (not the Citadel).  I have a filter set up that specifies the "Alarm Area" and the start and stop dates with maximun results set to 22.  These dates are set to only pull the last 24 hrs.  This vi will return around 10 to 20 entries out of perhaps 80-90 total events in the last 24 hours in the database.   This database is ~2M in size.   I have to set the timeout to almost 10 min for this vi to not produce a timeout error.  The results returned are correct but it just seems that the time to run this vi is excessive.  It is quering a database on the same system that the quering vi is running on.  Should I expect better preformance?
    Thanks
    Todd

    Verne,
I have boiled down the code to this attachment.  This query took almost 7 min to return 22 results from a database size that is listed as 2.09877E+6.  I have also tried the Alarms and Event Query to spreadsheet vi also and it takes the same amount of time.  I am wondering if I place the Alarms and Events into the same (Citidel) database that the traces are going if it would be much faster.  I seem to get trace data back very fast.  If I recall correctly I seperated the alarms from the trace because I was having some sort of problem accessing the alarm data in the combined database...but that was several labVIEW versions ago.  Anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks
    Todd

  • Prime Infrastructure: Can you export Alarms and Events?

    Hello
In Prime 1.4, you had the ability to export the alarms and events you saw being reported, at least according to the PDF manual: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/prime_infrastructure/1-4/configuration/guide/pi_14_cg.pdf
I want to export these events and alarms that can be found in the Monitor section of Prime 2.1, but the export option does not seem to be available.
Does anyone know if it is possible to export these via a scheduled report or by looking in a particular place on Prime? I would like to import the information into Splunk to see if we can gain an insight into the information that is being collected.
    thanks
    Bryn

    HI,
Did you ever determine an answer to this question? I really need to export data after a certain date... (I would also like to publish a calendar, after a certain date-- as no one needs to see the "old" events).

  • Question re Zone Alarm and WRT54G admin page display problem

First - thanks to all who posted about Zone Alarm - I was going to exchange my router this weekend - I spent an hour on the phone with tech support and she was trying to get my router updated with v9 through a roundabout way, but I kept getting an error that said my Flash could not be erased - so she thought the firware on my router was somehow corrupted. But I'm definitely going to check out the Zone Alarm idea first.
My question is - can someone tell me exactly how to disable Zone Alarm? I thought I had done so, but I guess not - I'm not very familiar with Zone Alarm. Also - I had purchased Zone Alarm about a year ago, (was using it with a Linksys wired router) and suddenly I am getting messages on restart telling me my "trial period is up" - of course I can't find my original packaging to enter a serial number (altho one is already entered and they say it's not *valid*) so I have to select an option that tells me I am no longer protected. (unless I pay another $40 to re-register it!!) Could this be part of the problem?
Final question - sorry for being such a newbie - but do I really need both Zone Alarm and the firewall in the router?  ZA says it has caught thousands of attempts on my system - while it was running with my non-wireless router installed - is that a crock? Or is actually good to have both software and hardware routers?  And if I do need ZA still - does it have to be disabled everytime I want to access the admin page? Then turned back on?
    ugh!
    thanks -
    Mary

LOL - This forum is great, I've been here 5 minutes and now have some fresh perspectives on a couple of problems.
I would NOT recommend paying for ZA. What the heck were they thinking when they created their 'Zones'? They should have named it something else for one, like 'Complicated rules and policies that are guaranteed to hack up everything you try to do (and it gets even worse when you restore the settings you tweaked back to their defaults)' But I guess that's a little too long.
Marynospam: Your Windows firewall (if ur on windows) will do a pretty good job of keeping out unwanted visitors from the Internet. It will NOT stop malware from calling out! Modern day scumbags slip you a trojan that will spy, record, copy, and call them back with whatever they want from you. If you are using Microsoft Windows DO NOT TURN OFF your 3rd party firewall! Of the firewall/security vendors I have experience with, McAfee is the best. I have only used their firewall and viruscan, and don't have experience with their 'spyware' package.

    Hi support team,
I have found that letter of "Alarm and Clock " is showing inappropriate in either the first of Thai alphabet or vowel of "า".

Regarding Alarm and Clock inappropriate in Thai language on Ultra Stamina Mode
    Hi support team,
I have found that letter of "Alarm and Clock " is showing inappropriate in either the first of Thai alphabet or vowel of "า".
-The first of Thai alphabet should show full name as "ก",not half of "ก"
-The vowel of "า",not half of "า"
    Please refer the link :https://app.box.com/s/rfsph14jw4mmepk2rqsjc949v1cilpp4
    Please help.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Alarming and Event Data Storage Locations

I'm having a problem where the Alarms and Events files are filling up the system disk and causing Lookout to crash.  Is there any way I can set things up so that those files are stored on another disk?  I already have the Historical files being archived on a separate disk, but the alarms and events seem to have stayed on the System disk.  The system disk doesn't have that much free space all the time, which is why I put the historical files somewhere else.
Also, I have the Historical Data system set to only archive data for 90 days (it was changed a while back from storing perpetually), but I still have files in the database going back years.  Is there a way to purge the old data out?
    David Dudley

    David,
It's important to note the alarms and events are actually in a separate database from Citadel.
This KnowledgeBase article discusses removing/archiving alarms from the database:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/B23BDD585BAEB25086256C00005C2851?OpenDocument
Moving the alarms database is a bit more tricky.  It uses the MSDE 2000 SQL engine, which defaults to using a database on the drive it gets installed to.  I think short of installing Lookout to another drive, there's no "easy" way to move it over.

  • [Bug?] DSC - Clusters Different between 'Read Alarm.vi' and 'Alarm and Event Query.vi" but Contain 'Same' Data

    Howdy!
Why are the clusters different coming out of the Read Alarm.vi and the Alarm and Event Query.vi when they have the exact same data?
The only difference is the order of two last elements.
I am leaning towards bug on this one, unless these clusters need to be distinct for some reason?

    Thanks for posting Ravens Fan
I re-jiggered my API to reverse my datatypes then applied changes to my application code.
It wasn't that painful to update.
My current understanding is that this bug affects one VI, so I decided it was easier to wrap that VI with the bugfix.
Attached is my implementation if anyone wants it too.
    Cheers

  • Waveform X Axis

Offset and
