  • How SDA and DDA works in Java Card?

    Hi Friends,
    I want to know how exactly SDA and DDA works in Java Card technology..
    Yes, i know that SDA (Static Data Authentication) is valid for every transactions, but the key used is always same for every transaction made..
    and DDA (Dynamic Data Authentication) uses dynamic key for every transactions, it means that one key is valid for one transaction..
    But, i'm a little bit confused how this is implemented in Java Card..
    Is it related with SCP01 and SCP02?..
    Please help me regarding this..
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    I want to know how exactly SDA and DDA works in Java Card technology..This is an EMV concept and as such is not implemented in Java Card as such. You would have to create an implementation to be able to use SDA and DDA.
    But, i'm a little bit confused how this is implemented in Java Card..
    Is it related with SCP01 and SCP02?..It is not implemented natively in Java Card and are not related to SCP. SDA and DDA are for the EMV card application (card application data updates) and SCP is for the card manager (card content updates). While they could be considered similar concepts, they are not related in a Java Card sense.

  • Footnotes and DDA accessible pdfs

    I have been trying to make footnotes produce in InDesign readable, triggered by the footnote number within the text to no avail. These footnotes are not auto generated as I need full page width footnotes in a two column grid so are just paragraphs.
    I have tried:
    1     Tagging the paragraph footnote number as 'figure' with Alt text of the footnote copy.
    2     Inserting the number into an anchored text box tagging as above.
    3     Inserting the number as a picture into an anchored object box tagging as above.
    Help please. Should one of these work or is there a work around?
    Many Thanks

    Many thanks Peter for this, I think that the same problem exists with cross-references as well!
    Let me try and explain.
    What I have been asked to do is produce reports that can also be read by a screen reader for non-sighted people.
    The access tags available in InDesign generally work well with one or two exceptions - this being one of them.
    When reading a paragraph with a footnote number in it, the reader just reads the text-number-text ok and then reads the footnotes at the bottom of the page as paragraphs following the rest of the page text.
    What really needs to happen is that when the screen reader reaches a footnote number in a paragraph it should then read the footnote text before continuing with the rest of the paragraph.
    Hence why I have tried inserting the footnote text as Alt = 'footnote text' in the position of the footnote number in the paragraph.
    I hope that explains the problem better?
    Any solutions?
    Regards
    Pete Denly
    Hi, Pete:
    You are describing changing the reading order within the PDF. I don't know if it's possible to make this happen automatically in InDesign.
    A workaround would be to create cross-references to the footnote paragraphs immediately following the footnote reference numbers in the main text, so the screen reader sees the footnote text right after the reference. If you mark these "captured" paragraphs with a condition, you can hide or show them to create a normal PDF, and one for screen readers.
    To avoid readers processing the footnotes, you can conditionalize, and hide their condition when you show their captured text in the cross-references. You can cross-reference to hidden conditional text!
    Turning the conditions on and off will reflow your document significantly. I'm assuming that page layout isn't an important concern for screen-read documents.
    When hiding footnotes, the footnote separator line remains. To remove it, you'd need to turn off Rule Above in the Footnote Options dialog box.
    To manage making these variations of final output, you can create one template document for each variation. In this example, the template document for screen readers should have the footnote property of no rule above, and condition settings that display the cross-references that capture the footnotes in text, while hiding the footnotes. The template document for standard output should have the footnote property rule above set on (if you want it), and the condition settings that hide the cross-references and display the footnotes. The template documents don't need any content or layout. To bring the template document properties into your main document you can use Load Conditions and Sets from the Conditional Text panel menu. To do this for multiple files at once, create a book file for each output variation, add the appropriate template file and the rest of the document files to the book, choose the properties you want to load from Synchronize Options on the Book panel menu, then synchronize the book using the template file as the style source.
    Because InDesign  can't load or synchronize footnote settings across documents - you have to do it manually - it might be more convenient to drag pages from the master document (the one that contains all conditions showing, and footnote rule above on) into each template document, where the condition and footnote settings of the receiving document will apply to the incoming pages.

    Does anyone know if Flex is DDA compliant?
    How do you make Flex based applications DDA compliant?
    How do you make an expandable left hand navigation menu DDA

  • Difference between Realtime Data Acqisition and Direct Data Access ?

    Hi experts,
    What is RDA and DDA and whrere these two are used ?
    What is the Difference between Realtime Data Acqisition and Direct Data Access?
    Please explain me in a detail manner, i will assign points for ur valuable answers..............

    Hi,
    Eventhough the aim of the two methods are to report on the latest data, there is a difference in both.
    In Realtime Data Acqisition you are loading the data into BW and then reporting on that data from BW Infoproviders.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/52/777e403566c65de10000000a155106/content.htm
    I think you are refering to Virtual providers by the term Direct Data Access. In  Direct Data Access you are not loading data into BW. Data is residing in R/3 itself. Your reports will fetch data from R/3 directly. The data is called during execution of a query in the source system.

  • RE: NT Server Reboot and Forte Partitions[Ref:C943460]

    Hi Bradley.
    At our customers, we need one of our Forte applications to be running for data
    communications to take place. After a reboot, we need this application's
    partitions to come online. The way we did this (as you suggested) was to use a
    BAT file, and then install this as an NT service (we used a utility that comes
    with the NT resource kit - srvany).
    This works fine for us. One of the issues we had was that the partitions tried
    to come online before Oracle was running - this resulted in the dbsessions
    failing and the partitions not coming online. We got round this by preceding
    starting the partitions with a loop that polled Oracle until it was up. Needless
    to say, piping all output to log files was essential for us to figure out what
    was going on.
    Hope this helps,

    Subject: NT Server Reboot and Forte Partitions [Ref:C943460]
    I have a system administration question for users with NT servers in
    their Forte environment. If I have installed Forte partitions on an NT
    server which I would like to startup when the server is rebooted, then
    what are my options for scripting this to happen automatically?
    Currently the only Forte process on the server which starts up
    automatically is the Forte node manager, through the installed NT
    service. I have been contemplating setting up a BAT file process as an
    NT service which would wait for the Forte node manager service to start,
    and then execute an fscript file to start the required forte partitions.
    How is this situation being handled in other environments? Thanks.

    Hi Brad,
    I am not sure if this is the right solution in the long run, but if you
    login into NT after reebot you can create a simple client that "pings" your
    service objects and put the shortcut into the Startup Group. I think such a
    client may also be useful to monitor your Forte server for application
    specific parameters, instead of relying only on logs/econsole.

  • ApEx and Section 508 compliance

    1. Is ApEx section 508 compliant? </br>
    2. Any documentation available on this topic? </br></br>
    (Section 508: employees with disabilities need to have access to information and data in a manner comparable to the access and use by employees who are not individuals with disabilities) </br></br> Vasan

    Hello,
    1. Is ApEx section 508 compliant? APEX can build 100% 508/DDA compliant applications. What Apex does not do is enforce 508/DDA compliance nor does it automatically insert accessibility features. Tab index's shortcuts to skip navigation , proper headings etc. This is left up to the developer to do so that you can properly address your application and or organizations accessibility requirements.
    One thing that is sometimes a sticking point is APEX's use of javascript. While you can create an APEX application that does not use javascript it has quite limited functionality. APEX does follow Oracle's stance on accessibility and javascript.
    http://www.oracle.com/accessibility/standards.html
    JAWS testing has also taken place with APEX and with properly built applications and the applications work great.
    2. Any documentation available on this topic? Building an accessible application in APEX is exactly like building an accessible application in any HTML environment. Set your tabindex's correctly, make sure data tables have proper headings , make sure that labels are properly linked to form items and such. There used to be a APEX and accisislbuity blog posting but I don't think it's available anymore. Searching this forum will also return you some results.
    Most accessibility issues come from improperly constructed templates, and making sure that page report and label templates have accessible features usually takes care of most issues.
    Our VPAT can be found here http://www.oracle.com/accessibility/templates/t780.htm and is currently being updated to cover all versions up to 3.1 , there have only been minor changes.
    APEX is also going to start taking advantage of ARIA features http://www.w3.org/WAI/intro/aria so that developers can more easily create rich interactive applications that still can use AJAX and other DHTML features. But there is no reason you can't start including ARIA features in your applications today.

  • Difference between source file and source structure

    Hello,
    I have a source file with around 60 fields. But I need to upload only 5 fields. I defined a source structure in LSMW with 5 fields and specified the file with 60 fields as the source file. But when the data is read, only 2 out of 5 fields are read. What should I do?
    Thank you

    Hi !!
        In case you are selecting only limited fields form a file with more fields in LSMW . Please apply following consideration :
    1. Add a dummy field in your source structure to make the whole structure size equal to the  total width of all fields in the source file. This is because in LSMW the file is read for the length of the SOURCE STRUCTURE width only . So if i want to read only field3 in following example i still need toa dda dummy field to ensure LSMW reads a total width of source file as the FIELD3 is at absolute end of the source file from length 40 to 60 only .
    For example :
    if my source file ahs following firve fields : FIELD1 (10) , FIELD2(30),FIELD3 (20) .
    Declare your source structure as : FIELD3 (20),FIELD_DUMMY (40) .
    2. When you deifne the source file in LSMW step 7  take care to notify whether you have field names at start of file or the field order is same as
    source structure .
    This should close your issue or get in touch for more here buddy

  • A problem with Threads and loops.

    Hi, I have some code that needs to be constantly running, like while(true)
          //code here
    }However, the code just checks to see if the user has input anything (and then if the user has, it goes to do some other stuff) so I don't need it constantly running and hogging up 98% of the CPU. So I made my class (which has the method that needs to be looped, call it ClassA) implement Runnable. Then I just added the method which needed to be looped into the public void run()
    I have another class which creates an instance of the above class (call it ClassB), and the main(String[] args) is in there.
    public static void main(String[] args)
              ClassA test = new ClassA();
              Thread thread = new Thread(test.getInstanceOfClassA());
              thread.start();
              while(true)
                           //I do not know what to put here
                   try
                        thread.sleep(100);
                   catch(InterruptedException iex)
         }However, the thread only calls run() once,(duh...) but I can't think of away to get it to run - sleep - run -sleep forever. Can someone help me?

    Hi, I have some code that needs to be constantly
    running, like while(true)
    //code here

    input anything (and then if the user has, it goes to
    do some other stuff) so I don't need it constantly
    running and hogging up 98% of the CPU. Where does the user input come from. Are you reading from an InputStream? If so, then your loop will be blocked anyway when reading from the InputStream until data is available. During that time, the loop will not consume processor cycles.
    public static void main(String[] args)
              ClassA test = new ClassA();
    Thread thread = new Thread(test.getInstanceOfClassA());I have never seen this idiom. If ClassA instanceof Runnable, you simply write new Thread(test).
              thread.start();
              while(true)
    //I do not know what to put
    do not know what to put here
                   try
                        thread.sleep(100);
                   catch(InterruptedException iex)
         }However, the thread only calls run() once,(duh...)Yeah, why would you want to call it more than once given that you have an infinite loop in ClassA.run()?

    You can also try to provide a greater Priority to your player thread so that it gains the CPU time when ever it needs it and don't harm the playback.
    However a loop in a Thread and that to an infinite loop is one kind of very bad programming, 'cuz the loop eats up most of your CPU time which in turn adds up more delays of the execution of other tasks (just as in your case it is the playback). By witting codes bit efficiently and planning out the architectural execution flow of the app before start writing the code helps solve these kind of issues.
    You can go through [this simple tutorial|http://oreilly.com/catalog/expjava/excerpt/index.html] about Basics of Java and Threads to know more about threads.

  • Problem with Threads and a static variable

    I have a problem with the code below. I am yet to make sure that I understand the problem. Correct me if I am wrong please.
    Code functionality:
    A timer calls SetState every second. It sets the state and sets boolean variable "changed" to true. Then notifies a main process thread to check if the state changed to send a message.
    The problem as far I understand is:
    Assume the timer Thread calls SetState twice before the main process Thread runs. As a result, "changed" is set to true twice. However, since the main process is blocked twice during the two calls to SetState, when it runs it would have the two SetState timer threads blocked on its synchronized body. It will pass the first one, send the message and set "changed" to false since it was true. Now, it will pass the second thread, but here is the problem, "changed" is already set to false. As a result, it won't send the message even though it is supposed to.
    Would you please let me know if my understanding is correct? If so, what would you propose to resolve the problem? Should I call wait some other or should I notify in a different way?
    Thanks,
    B.D.
    Code:
    private static volatile boolean bChanged = false;
    private static Thread objMainProcess;
       protected static void Init(){
            objMainProcess = new Thread() {
                public void run() {

                       GetState();
            objMainProcess.setDaemon( true );

    Thanks DrClap for your reply. Everything you said is right. It is not easy to make them alternate since SetState() could be called from different places where the state could be anything else but a status message. Like a GREETING message for example. It is a handshaking message but not a status message.
    Again as you said, There is a reason I can't call sendMessage() inside setState().
    The only way I was able to do it is by having a counter of the number of notifies that have been called. Every time notify() is called a counter is incremented. Now instead of just checking if "changed" flag is true, I also check if notify counter is greater than zero. If both true, I send the message. If "changed" flag is false, I check again if the notify counter is greater than zero, I send the message. This way it works, but it is kind of a patch than a good design fix. I am yet to find a good solution.
    Thanks,
    B.D.
