RTF (using XSL) Display

Just am curious to know if I can see a working demo of this anywhere.
(Using a xsl in a word template (RTF) and viewing it through BIP/APEX?
I am having issues viewing this in BIP whereas the preview in word works fine.
I have the Import for xsl pointing to a valid URL in the word template.

  • Image not displaying in pdf report using XSL-FO and using Oracle 11g databa

    Good Afternoon,
    I have created over 15 reports using XSL-fo, with the following syntax to display an image on the pdf:
    fo:block margin-left="0.24cm" margin-right="0.27cm" margin-top="0.0cm" ><fo:external-graphic content-width="scale-to-fit" content-height="scale-to-fit" width="1.73cm" height="1.57cm" >
    <xsl:attribute name="src">'url("http://readiness:7780/i/marforcom_symbol_rpts.gif")'</xsl:attribute></fo:external-graphic>
    </fo:block>
    This syntax works fine when using Oracle 10g, now my database has been upgraded to 11g and my image no longer displays in the reports. I have already upload the image into the database as a workspace image.
    I have tried to point the image @ the image by using url(#WORKSPACE_IMAGE#marforcom_symbol_rpts.gif)
    or <img src ="#IMAGE_PREFIX#marforcom_symbol_rpts.gif")
    and it still doesn't work.
    I have searched this forum trying to come up with a solution that will fix my problem and am unable to.
    Current config: Oracle 11g, using pl/sql gateway.
    I need to know how to point the xsl-fo file to the database, where the image now resides.

    Hi,
    I think you need load images to database XDB virtual directory /i/ and then use #IMAGE_PREFIX# substitution.
    This might help to access /i/

    I have no problems parsing the same XSL containing static Arabic text using Transviewer beans' XSLTransformPanelSample class. This means that my XSL has no errors in it.

    You need to use the correct and the same character encoding (charset) thorough the complete process.
    Whenever you get question marks, then it means that the charset used does not recognize the bytes (which on its turn are apparently encoded by a different charset).

    Here is one requirement in our project, where we have multiple purchase order in XML file, each of the purchase order may contains n number of lines. We have to create the PO report using the XSL-FO method.
    If any purchase order printed on n no. of pages then page from 1 to (n-1) should display only subtotal and n th(the last page for respective purchase order) page should display the total of all the line involved in the respective purchase order.
    I want to ask :
    how it can be done?
    Is it possible using XSL-FO or XSLT?

    If you are upgrading from an earlier version of XML Publisher, you must run the XML Publisher Template Re-Generator concurrent program. Use Standard Request Submission to submit this request from the XML Publisher Administrator responsibility. The request will prompt you for the following parameter:
    Regeneration Criteria
    Select "Outdated" to regenerate only outdated templates.
    Select "All" to regenerate all templates.

    That option is not available in FTP mode..
    This option is applicable only for the File adapter. If you enter a value in this field when configuring the sender FTP adapter, it will have no effect.

    Now, at this time, I can't see the XML data in the CC monitoring because the tool shows only the recent polling execute in the last 10 minutes. If the error recurs, I will check the payload of CC.
    How can I solve the problem with reading incomplete file (FTP mode)?
    ...Meanwhile I will try with Full cache refresh.

    Requirement is to create a multi sheet excel output. Because of this. I am going the XSL way and not RTF.
    Now, I need to create pie charts using XSL as part of the output.
    * Is it possible to create pie charts in .XSL? If so, any pointers?
    * I tried some SVG coding by referencing the below link but not result:

    * I also created the required chart in RTF and tried to use the underlying XSL-FO code. Not sure if I have used it in the right way. Has anyone tried doing that?

  • Using XSL-FO for Interactive Report PDF printout

    I am using XSL-FO, Apache FOP and use FO Designer to produce a PDF from SQL Based Report (not IR). This is working fine.
    How can use the same concept for Interactive Report. I can not see how to make IR to use XSL-FO and Apache FOP.
    It looks that IR is only working for BI Publisher. Am I right?

    Interactive Reports currently only support the built-in default XSL-FO layout, i.e. there are only limited customization options available. Report Queries (see Shared Components) and Classic Reports can either use the default XSL-FO Layout, or can be associated with RTF or XSL-FO based templates. We plan to extend printing support for Interactive Reports in a future version of Oracle Application Express to provide similar features as is currently available for Report Queries and Classic Reports.

    I have an RTF template that contains <xsl:text> &#10;</xsl:text> in one of the form fields because I want to force a Carriage return in the output.
    The form field looks something like:
    <?when?>
    Some text
    <xsl:text> &#10;</xsl:text>
    More text
    <?end when?>
    The resulting output is Some text &#10; More text. What am I doing wrong ?

    Hmmm..looks like the XMLP processor is not preserving the carriage return while processing the document. In fact i tried giving certain hexadecimal characters for achieving the carriage returns in the resulting document, but to of no use. It doesnot work!!!
    I used the following in my RTF template:

Now my XML does'nt contain information for all the weeks and I want to display 0 in the cell wherever the week is not applicable and the appropriate noofdays in the cell where information is there.
    So my output looks like this:

    View the .rtf file not display the data in BI Publisher Enterprise.
    Step 1, I created Answer-request, create .rtf file with Word and add the request name, Add bar chart and table, preview PDF is working fine with data, Upload this template to Answers, View Template from Answer is working fine with data.
    Step 2, Answers – More Products > BI Publisher > My Folders > Create a new report > Edit > Data Model > New > Type: SQL Query > Data Source: Oracle BI EE > Query Builder > from SupplierSales assign Customer, Periods, Sales Facts (select Region, state, Year, Units Shipped) > Results > Save > Save
    Click Layouts > New > enter Name ….. > Click Layouts > borrows .rtf file in Manage T file > Upload > Save > Click View
    It is showing only the .rtf file without data. Why there is no data?
    Please guide me to solve this issue.

    You really have to mess with the resoluton, espescially the refresh rate, as it varies from projector to projector, monitor to monitor. Even within the same brand! Because so many manufacturers are trying so many different things to become the next cool kid on the block, and the way the formats are being configured that's now part of the game.
    That's why so many professionally produced corporate shows hire a dedicated projectionist for the video presentations. Too many bugs in the honey.
    Refresh & sesolution are the first things to look at.
    Just so you know that colors in PowerPoint PC, and PowerPoint Mac, don't exactly match... go figure.
    I forgot to mention another thing, sometimes it's the projector that needs to be tweaked.
