RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System dll reloction - hhctrl.ocx

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this means and if so how to fix it. I have looked on the web but can't seem to find the info.
RTHDCPL.EXE-ILLEGAL SYSTEM DLL RELOCTION
The system dll user 32dll was relocated in Memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation accured because the DLL C;\windows\system 32\hhctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for windows system dll, The vendor supplying the dll should be contacted for new dll.
Many thanks

Why you dont check the other threads posted here in the forum.
There a lot of postings which describe the solution for this update problem:

    DLL error! HELP ME?
This is what i got after a recent windows update had taken place and i had just restarted my laptop,
'Application popup: RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL Relocation : The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.'
What in the world could have possibly happened between the short time of an update?! I'm frazzled.
I'm guessing it might be to do with my speakers cause i googled this RTHDCPL.EXE...and it came up with the name of the sound device i have. ANY HELP AT ALL would be appreciated as i do not have any time to waste, i need this laptop for work.

  • Illegal system dll relocation, contact vendor for new dll

Unable to upgrade or test Schockwave due to the following message:

You get this when doing what?  Shockwave Player or Flash Player?
First thing I would recommend is a malware scan.

  • Calling back c++ method in an exe (not a dll) from java?

    Hi all,
I have to make an hybrid C++/java from an existing C++
application that compiled is a big single exe not a dll.
    I'm running under win32.
The application consists of several windows. The hybrid
will have widows in C++ and some in java. They have the
same menu and tool bar. In the C++, there are some
callbacks called when a button is pressed. How to call
these callback from java given the fact that the JVM and
the java classes are launched by the exe file.
I know how, from C++, start JVM and call my java window.
I also know how to call a C++ method that is in a dll from
    java. It's from the tutorial
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/native1.1/index.html
But I don't know how to call a C++ method that is in in an
exe which has launch a JVM from an object running in this
    JVM.
Is there somewhere an example like this?
    Thanks,

  • Apsdaemon.exe missing msvcr80.dll and won't run... Help???

I get this message at start up - "apsdaemon.exe missing msvcr80.dll because it is not found. Reinstall program"
Because of this my itunes won't work, I can't even repair it, and I can't even install it after removing it....
    Help?!?!?!?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Hhctrl.ocx

I'm getting an annoying error message when I open iTunes... it goes like this:-
    "iTunes.exe - Bad Image
C:\Windows\System32\hhctrl.ocx is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error."
There follow messages about contacting the vendor for support etc.
Weird. I know hhctrl.ocx is an Active X control, but aside from that, anyone have a clue what's going on here? I have the latest version of iTunes & am running Vista. I should stress that iTunes opens fine, but only after closing the error message.

made sure to order 2048 MB ...
okay. i went searching the Vista community at Microsoft for anything relevant, but unfortunately all the threads there seem to be on the problem that was hitting XP:
    Search Results: hhctrl.ocx
my thought here is that either your hhctrl.ocx has become deregistered, or just "gone bad" ... however it's probably prudent to get advice on reregistering it (or swapping it out) from someone who actually has a Vista box in their possession.
so it might be worth posting over at the Vista discussion groups. (not trying to get rid of you, just trying to get you on the radar screens of folks with more skills with Vista than i have.)

  • Installing LV 8.2 on Vista64. Unable to install - "regsvr32.exe on msi.dll"

Running Vista64, trying to Install LV8.2  .  This version works fine on xp, win7, and 2 vista machines  (I tested them) but not on this machine.
It is a windows error, and I have posted on their boards as well, but I figure ask here since the quality of intellect is higher.
    Anyway, the error reads
"The Windows Installer engine is corrupt. To attempt to resolve this issue, please register the engine by running regsvr32.exe on msi.dll."
I type "regsvr32 msi.dll" into the "run" command, following above instructions.  It fails; with error code 0x80040201 .  This error code is apparently due to a corrupted MS outlook profile.  Outlook is not installed on this computer, and has never been installed on this computer.
Just testing the waters to see if anyone has ever had these issues before I go fight with M$.

    Hi,
Maybe its because LV 8.2 does not support 64bit OS'. Vista64 is supported since LV 8.2.1

  • APAgent.exe error dnssd.dll on startup with the suggestion to reinstall. How do I remove the error?

I am giving away my windows XP laptop to my 80 year old Mom and deleted itunes and ipod software.
Now getting APAgent.exe error dnssd.dll with the suggestion to reinstall. How do I remove the error? I don't want to reinstall on this laptop.

Did you uninstall Bonjour from the PC? Airport software uses Bonjour, and it looks like your Airport base station agent is complaining about the missing Bonjour (dnssd.dll is a Bonjour file).
Is your Mom going to be using the Airport capabilities of the laptop? If not, it might be easiest just to uninstall the Airport utility and/or other related Airport software.

  • Accesing system DLL resources

    Hi.
I need one application in DLL´s Visual Basic i access it jni way very well. but when i put this access code in a WebDynPro i get one message of denied permision to com objetcts...
I think that i have to modified a grant permission in the java.policy file.
My DLL´s are living in c:windowssystem32
i think that grant permission could be the next
    grant codeBase "file:c:windowssystem32-" {
      permission java.security.AllPermission;};
    is it correct ???
is it the way o there are another ?

First off, I would try adjusting your settings in the build spec. ie. Experiment with the settings by:
    1. Going to the advanced category and generating a build log file
    2. Enable debugging
    3. Go to additional exclusions and modifying these settings by disconnecting type defs and de-selecting all the other options.
If this doesn't work try deleting the build spec and starting the process over. Build specs can sometimes become corrupted.
I am not sure what system.dll is used for but if it is needed for some reason then the best thing to do would be to figure out what system.dll is where is should be located and see if it is there. If it is not you may be able to see troubleshooting steps online to recover it. Do you know any more information about this dll? It seams to be so general that searching for it is difficult. I would advise against download just anything off the internet named system.dll just as a warning. If it is a commonly needed dll. It would be a target for malware or virus'.

  • Hhctrl.ocx  not found

    Hi all,
Last Thursday, I have copied a RoboHelp X5 project which I
own for three years to a new place on my desktop.
Ever since, I can't open the generated CHM file:
Clicking the CHM results with an error message regarding a
    missing Hhctrl.ocx file.
BTW - I can't generate a viable CHM from the old project,
    either.
The file, indeed, is not on my desktop.
I can't find it on the installation disk, either.
    I'd appreciate any direction,
    Avi

Hi Avi. This is normally caused by a program being
uninstalled that unregisteres the file. You need to register the
    file again. Click

    Hello,
Is the ThinkPad still on Windows XP RTM level?  If so, try installing Service Pack 3 for Microsoft Windows XP and then re-running the ThinkVantage System Update Utility.  There might be some dependencies in those faulting modules which require functionality in the XP SP3 level Windows kernel.

  • Wbengine.exe faulting, ntdll.dll module at fault

    Hello All,
I've got a client with a WD Sentinel running Storage Server (Server 2008 R2 based). We setup Windows Server Backup and it worked for a couple of backups. We then added a second drive and encrypted both with Bitlocker. Now, I'm getting the following
error in the logs. It happens right after the volume shadow copies are created, when the dialog box says "preforming consistency check." There are no other errors that I can find. Any thoughts?

I did see that website, and have checked for any extra software. The Western Digital and Intel softwares are the only ones loaded.
While the behavior is quite similar to the error that is described there, it's not exactly the same. The fault offset and process are different. I've started working with Debugdiag to get a better idea of what is really going on. Here's the output from the
latest crash after I've installed all applicable hotfixes:

  • Explorer.exe crashing - twinui.dll?

With some relative frequency (several times an hour) explorer.exe is faulting and restarting.  I only noticed because the system tray repaints.  I am not sure if this is related to the applications I have installed, or is unrelated.
Has anyone else encountered this?  Any ideas as to what is going on?

When the Windows Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the created file (cmpressed as 7z or RAR) to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with
the Debugger, maybe I can see the cause.
