RTL issue

Hi
I need help regarding RTLs. I am accessing a webservice
through Adobe Flex using HTTPRequest tag. The problem is that the
data returned by webservice is correct, but when that data is
assigned to some label tag, it doesn't appear correctly. That is,
the data is correct in form of words, but incorrect in form of
sentences. Words parsed by the parser are formed correctly but when
there is a sentence found in RTL, it is parsed but displayed in LTR
style which is incorrect behaviour. (I am not using any external
parser, the default parser is being used. I am using Adobe Flex for
creating UI)
I have checked all the language settings of windows, and they
are fine. But don't know why i am having this ambiguous behaviour.
Someone suggest me the perfect solution???
Regards

Welcome to our community, saq!b
You probably don't realize it, but you posted your issue in
the wrong area. Here, we discuss issues related to Captivate. The
Flex forum is where you should post your question. If I could move
it there for you I would. But we don't have that capability here.
So the best I can do is give you a link to visit there easily.
You may visit the Flex forums (and re-post your question) by
Clicking
this magickal link
Good luck in finding a solution there! Rick

2. Application Globalization Property : Application Language Derived From - Item Preference
3. On the login page I have a Select List P101_LNG to choose Language.

Item Name : FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE
Type : Item Value
Computation Point : After Submit
Computation : P101_LNG
5. I have done all the Translation steps like Creating Mapping with Language Code ar-kw, Seed translatable text to translation repository, downloaded translatable XLIFF file, updated the target for the file and then uploaded and published.
Now when I run the forms the pages does not appear Right to Left on Selection of Arabic Language on the Login form.
Note: On using Application Language Derived From - Browser (use browser language preference) it works fine.
Am I missing something? Have I done something wrong?
Please help.

Now there is different problem though.
Once I click on Logout I get the following error:
Error ERR-1016 Application "1000" Page "101" not found (requested language="en-us")
Page 101 is the Login Page and it exists, even then why such an error.

• Issue with RTL order in hyperlinks on Pages 5.2

Hello,
I am having an issue with the Arabic order when trying to add a hyperlink to a text in Pages 5.2. When I type the sentence without the hyperlink the order is perfect, however when I add the the URL link to the selected text the sentence order becomes corrupted.
Could you please let me know if there is some feature that I am missing to apply or is just that the RTL support on Pages 5.2 is not very good?
Do you have a workaround to this problem?
So far the only way to solve it that I found it was to create a transparent text box with the link over the sentence. However I would like to found a better solution to this.
Screenshots for reference:
Correct order without link.
Incorrect order with link
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

You client insists on .pages format?

Many thanks for the link Pieter.
I recently created a wiki that lists all of the fixes, their tracking numbers, associated Kbase numbers, Kbase titles and links to the kbases:
http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/tgK3Dw
It's 90% complete. I think I have a few Kbases to do to complete it.

• Having Issues with High CPU Usage with fluxbox & pekwm

Greetings,
I have searched for this issue and it seems that something similar has happened in the past with an old xorg, and it seems that someone is having a similar issue that they can point to kde as being the culrpit. However in my case, this is a fresh install and is not using any kde libs. Please allow me to explain the issue.
The power supply on my main computer finally gave out, and being incredibly poor at the moment I can not yet replace it. So, I pull out an older computer that I had once set up for my kids, but took it away from them when they were abusing it. I always make backup dvds and such monthly so I didn't have to worry about any lose of data, however I desired to keep my larger hard drives from my main computer. After testing to ensure that the hard drives were fine, I did some minor surgery, and did a fresh install of arch linux onto my back up computer. Since I prefer pekwm, I installed pekwm as my wm of choice, and outfitted it quickly with mpd+sonata, firefox, pcmanfm, and tint2. Then I rebooted into my pekwm 'desktop'.
It was running sluggish. Firefox was easily maxing the cpu up and beyond 100% and it felt ten times worse than any heavy DE I used in the past. I checked to make sure I had the right video driver installed. As this computer runs a 64MB nVidia GeForce2 MX with TV out video card, I searched nvidia's page and the arch wiki, noting that the driver needed is nvidia-96xx. Well I had already suspected that during install, and thus had installed such driver. I double checked my xorg.config and it has the right driver listed.
So I checked out some lighter browsers. I tried both Midori and Iron (which is similar to Chrome but without google spyware or whatever). Well both run better than firefox, Midori being the lightest one, but Iron quickly being my favorite. Still, the problem remained. Moving windows caused cpu spikes, opening more than one tab, or more than one program caused cpu spikes and the computer to slow down and sputter, freezing at times.
So I tried out another wm, fluxbos, which is another of my favorites. Seemed somewhat better but only fractionally, which I consider odd because pekwm has always seemed snappier than fluxbox to me in the past. Running lxtask (still mouse dependent, sorry lol), I was able to take note of the following...
FLUXBOX
lxtask 6% CPU usage average
PCManFM 5% CPU Average
Fluxbox 1% to 2% cpu usage
gksu 3% cpu usage
pidgin 3% to 7% cpu usage
firefox up to 62% cpu usage
midori up to 38% cpu usage
iron up to 50% cpu usage
mpd 11% cpu uage
Xorg (with no window movement) 2% cpu usage
Xorg (moving windows around) up to 80% cpu usage
PEKWM
lxtask 6% CPU
pidgin 7% cpu
tint2 1% cpu
pekwm 1% to 5% cpu
pcmanfm 7% cpu
firefox up to 85% cpu
python 1% cpu
midori up to 38% cpu
iron up to 25% cpu (odd...)
Xorg (with no window movement) 1% cpu
Xorg (when moving windows around) up to 80% cpu
Both were using around 118 MB RAm and weren't yet touching swap. As I see it I am thinking xorg or video driver related, yet I already made sure that I had the correct video driver. Here's my Xorg.conf

So what I am wanting help with is finding the solution to the cpu usage so that I can use this computer at least until I can afford a new power supply or whatever. I am open to any good suggestions, though I must state I am not really interested in tiling wm's at the moment. I am just not a true minimalist.
Thanks in advance for any and all help. I understand that there is a lot of info in this post, but it is my hope that with this info the problem can be solved. If there is info I didn't provide that is needed, please let me know.

also check that you have
session.screen0.opaqueMove false
in your .fluxbox/init this will probably help a bit if it is currently true,

• SSRS print layout support RTL rendering

Hi.
is there a support of printing report with matrix that is set to RTL (LayoutDirection) which displays in ReportViewr control with property RightToLeft set to RightToLeft.Yes in DisplayMode = PrintLayout.
the report looks fine in the report viewr in DisplayMode = Normal, but when goes to PrintLayout, it seems that the left data on page is rendered first.
example:
this is the display of the report viewer, I would like to print the columns by the same order it displays here:
and this is the result when clicking Print Preview: the first page displays the data of the last columns and if i go to the last page (page 9) i will see the data of the first column as displays in the previous gif, I don't have a clue why?
is there a property that can be set to force the print layout to render RTL.
anyway, it seem to me as a bug since the Report Viewer displays the data correctly and renders the data RTL as expected.
Please help.
Thanks,
Lior Schwimmer.

Hi Lior,
According to your description, you have created a matrix and column group is sorted based on the time field. But when you specify the RTL layout for the matrix, the report doesn’t display correctly in print layout.
As we tested in our environment, if the row group contains many records while the page width is not big enough, the issue could be reproduced in Print Layout. In Reporting Services, the print Layout is one of the hard page-break renders, it will insert
page breaks horizontally and vertically based on the physical page size to provide an optimized reading experience when printed.
In your scenario, you could change the Orientation as Landscape and specify the Width as a higher value, then make the report can display on one page. If one page is not sufficient to contain the report, the issue will occur as you mentioned. This is by
design.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
Best regards,

• Change Apex 5.0 pages direction to rtl to support Arabic

Dear All,
I started using Apex 5.0 my issue is how to change the page direction to be right-to-left I've added <html dir="rtl'> on the page template this works fine for most of regions on the page the only issue is the navigation menu still appears in left side of the page I think because position is fixed there. I've spend a lot of time trying to get it from the right side of the page along with the page header but i couldn't please help!!!!
Thanks..

Can i Get any Help??

• I can't past in any text from Photoshop to Premiere, RTL or LTR Latin, Hebrew or Arabic text to Premiere Pro cc 2014. It works only between Photoshop 2014 - AE 2014.

Any one suffering from the same issue?
I use to write text RTL(right to left) written languages like Arabic and Hebrew in Photoshop, where after copy and paste the text in Premiere to get the job done. With the latest version of Adobe cc 2014 I can't copy and past any text in to Premiere from Photoshop any more, not even text written in latin. Any one has the same problem or work around this issue possibly. It still works fine to copy/paste arabic text written on Photoshop in to After Effects, but Premiere pro 2014 when you paste any text.
I'm sure this forum works as feedback for Adobe in general and my question is:
- Does adobe have any intention in the future to implement RTL text writing in Adobe CC or not? Could any one please answer this question from ADOBE?
As media consultant I can only recommend for my clients using RTL to use Apple FCP X which has built in RTL support and a new way of editing and greater workflow.

...The only things that changed were an update to Yosemite, I started using Time Machine to make regular backups...
Please check this blog post. Updating from Time Machine can cause this issue: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later).
Thanks,

• Export to Word with LayoutDirection of RTL on Tablix

When exporting to Word from SSRS 2008 R2 - setting the LayoutDirection of a Tablix to RTL causes the rendered table in word to appear in inverted order:
Selecting the table and setting Table direction (in the Table Properties dialog) to Right-to-left once already in Word corrects the issue.
Leaving LayoutDirection as LTR renders in the correct direction, but then tabbing through the table in Word is in the wrong direction.
Any chance that SSRS can be made to render LayoutDirection=RTL to Table direction=Right-to-left?

Hi Sq,
I have tested it on my local environment, we cannot reproduce this issue. My test environment is SQL Server Reporting Service 2008 R2 and Microsoft Word 2010 on Window 7. So this issue may be caused by your design structure of your report, if possible redesign
the report to check if this issue is persists or not.
If the issue persists, please elaborate the structure of your report, if possible could you please post both the report and the dataset with sample data to us by the following E-mail address? Then, I can try to reproduce the issue again and for further analysis.

• IE 10 and 11 can't display Google Chrome's landing page correctly in RTL languages (Hebrew, Arabic, Persian)

Hi,
I’ve been trying to download Google Chrome from the official Hebrew version website (https://www.google.co.il/chrome/)
Using IE11 on Windows 7 SP1 from different computer setups, but every time the blue download box-link simply
didn’t show up. I’ve checked this with browserstack.com and found out it’s not a local issue, and also occurs on other RTL languages such as Arabic and Persian on Windows 7 with IE10 and IE11:

• Issues with Arabic in Mac OS X with Flash 10 / Flex Gumbo

I've been looking at converting an existing Flex 3 project to have an Arabic language version, so I have been looking at the TLF to help do that. Originally I intended to just use the components for using TLF in 3.2, but it looks like I may need to use Gumbo for font embedding.
I'm using the TextFlow to create an editable input box and so far I've run into a number of odd behaviours; can anyone explain where I might be going wrong, or an easy workaround?
This is the code I've been playing with as a test:

private static const textInput:XML = <TextFlow xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/textLayout/2008">

اتحاد الصحفيين العرب يدينس

\u064A\u0648\u0644\u062F \u062C\u0645\u064A\u0639 \u0627

</TextFlow>;
[Embed(source="./fonts/AdobeArabic-Regular.otf", fontName="Adobe Arabic", cff="true")]
private var arabicFont:Class;
private function initApp():void
var textFlow:TextFlow = TextFilter.importToFlow(textInput, TextFilter.TEXT_LAYOUT_FORMAT);
textFlow.direction = Direction.RTL;
var cf:CharacterFormat = new CharacterFormat(textFlow.characterFormat);
cf.locale = 'ar';
cf.ligatureLevel = LigatureLevel.EXOTIC;
cf.fontFamily = "Adobe Arabic";
cf.fontLookup = FontLookup.EMBEDDED_CFF;
textFlow.characterFormat = cf;
var sprite:UIComponent = new UIComponent();
sprite.x = 20;
sprite.y = 20;
sprite.width = 200;
sprite.height = 100;
var controller:IContainerController = new DisplayObjectContainerController(sprite, 200, 100);
textFlow.flowComposer.addController(controller);
textFlow.interactionManager = new EditManager();
textFlow.flowComposer.updateAllContainers();
addChild(sprite);

I've found I've had to use the cff embedding to have the font showing correctly and also not garbling the characters. However, even with cff embedding on, I've found that Mac OS X keyboard inputs come out as garbled roman characters rather than Arabic.I'm sure there are examples of Arabic working in OS X though - is there something particular about how I'm setting up the TextFlow that could be causing this problem?
Thanks in advance for any responses.

Euan,
This is a known issue listed in the release notes. Copied from the release notes:
[Limitations on Keyboard Input of International Scripts: Some international scripts using Unicode encoding cannot be typed into Flash Player 10 on Macintosh OS or Windows. While all writing scripts supported by Flash Player 10 can be displayed correctly, keyboard input for some of these scripts may not function. Keyboard input will work correctly for several writing scripts including Roman, Chinese, Japanese, Cyrillic, and Central European languages on both Windows and Macintosh. On the Windows platform, typing works correctly only for writing scripts such as Arabic, Hebrew or Thai that have Windows codepages.]
