RTMT Displaying Critical Service Down, However The Cluster is Stable.

Hi All,
Need a little ?
I have a CUCM Cluster consisting of 1 x Pub & 1 x Sub in a Dev Enviroment, we recently installed RTMT and noticed we get the following alarms
for the Pub and Sub.
Alert Name = Critical Service Down,     Severity = Critical,     Description = Service Status Down SNMP Master Agent
Alert Name = Critical Service Down,     Severity = Critical,     Description = Service Status Down Cisco Messaging Interface SNMP Master Agent
The alarms are genegrated every minute and is really annoying. Can't figure out why we keep getting this as the Cluster appears to be fuctioning ok.
Is there anyway to put a Halt to the alarms?
Please see my attached screenshot any help is appreciated.
Regards
Charles

These are precanned alerts for Critcal Service Down alarms in RTMT.  The SNMP Master Agent and CMI services that are listed here are considered critical services; however, they would not typically have any impact on system performance.  In fact, if you don't use SNMP then you wouldn't need the SNMP Master Agent service activated or started.  So, I believe the likely scenario here is that all of the services in the cluster are activated but not all of them are started.  In other words, you may have activated everything and then selectively started the services you need.  I believe if you deactivate the specific services referenced, you should stop getting these alerts.

  • I am unable to make or receive phone calls.  I also have not been able to connect on chat.  Is service down in the Boston area?

If service is down, it would be really a good thing to let your customers know.

I am having the same issues. I thought it was just my phone.
Seems to be a sporadic problem with the service as I know others on Verizon that have service.
Several tweets have gone unanswered.  Would be nice if Verizon would acknowledge this issue and let us know what is going on and when we can expect service again.  I am 7mo preg with other kids in school, and have NO means of getting calls in or out if I am needed in an emergency.

  • 4G LTE service down in the Norfolk, VA area?

I've not had a 4G LTE connection in several days.  3G working well, but the speeds are, well, 3G speeds.  I work in Norfolk, VA (23501) area and live in the Smithfield, VA area (23430).  Usually get outstanding 4G LTE service in both locations, and along the commute route.  4G has been down for days.  Can anyone explain why or if they are experiencing similar issues?

I had this issue for months. See this forum thread. https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/813020
It's a network problem. Probably due to congestion. I never had slow data during off-peak times. I tried to work with customer service to get it someone to look into it and service the nearby towers but they just make it way to convoluted and confusing to get anything done. Thanks Verizon and your forced arbitration.
I switched about a month ago to Ting Mobile. It's now costing me half the price and my data speeds are actually 4G. Ting.com.

  • I want to suspend my verizon service. However, the service is not available at this time.... Could you help me to address this problem?

I suspended my verizon service for last 3 months and it has been reconnected few days ago. But I want to re-suspend the service for 3 more months. As far as I know, I can suspend the service up to 180 days. How can I re-suspend the service? The web shows "the service is not available at this time" for every time i attempt to suspend the service. How can I resolve the issue?

I'm sorry you're having issues with suspending your line dyoung_lee.  For each line of your account, you can only suspend your service for up to 180 days in a 365-day period. Have you suspended your before in the past  year? Your line can remain suspended for up to 90 days.

  • Service down in the Portland, TX. area??

Hi, I have had Verizon now for almost 2 years, and have been in this same residence for the whole period of time. This morning, I noticed my phone, as well as my wife's phone (we both have iPhone 4 32gb phones), kept dropping out of 3G and going to Extended, and sometimes nothing at all. Cannot make any phone calls, whatsoever. Texts go through really hit and miss.
These are our only phones. We do not have landline service. We need our service back!!!
    Ian

        Hi txsizzler,
I am sorry to learn that you are experiencing service issues. No services issues are noted in our system for Portland. I trust that your service is back to normal by now. If you still have service issues please reprogram your phones by dialing *228>send>option 1>power off/on at end of call.
Please keep in mind that this is a peer to peer forum and while our Social Media team monitors the posts, the best way to get immediate assistance when network issues are suspected is to call 800-922-0204 from a different line to troubleshoot your device or send us a message on twitter at @VZWSupport.

Today my iMessages are not going through - eventually they turn up as text messages hours later. I can't find any information on the service status. Can anyone confirm if it is offline or point me in the direction of a status update?

  • "Service Cluster left the cluster" - lost all my data

My four storage enabled cluster nodes lost all their cached data when the all services left the cluster in response to some issue(?). Is that the expected behavior? Is the correct procedure to transactionally store to disk so you can reload when this happens or should this simply never happen? Seems like this should not happen. These four nodes are on the the same server. At about time 12:31 everything goes pear shaped.

    Hi Andrew
I had a quick look at your logs but cannot say for certain why your cluster died. I can say that losing data is a normal consequence of node loss though. If you have the backup count set to 1 then you can lose a single node without losing data. If you lose more than one node (on different machines, or the same machine if you only have one) over a very short space of time then you will almost certainly lose at least one partition and hence lose the data within that partition.
Going back to you logs is is difficult to determine the underlying cause without the whole set of logs. You have posted links to four logs but from looking at them the cluster has about 16 nodes. I know from experience (as we had a cluster that was quite unstable for a while) that tracing these issues through the logs can be a bit awkwrd but you soon get the hang of it :-)
For example in the log http://www.nmedia.net/~andrew/logs/1.log you have...
    2011-01-14 12:31:16.807/49993.331 Oracle Coherence GE 3.6.0.0 <D5> (thread=Cluster, member=9): MemberLeft notification for Member(Id=3, Timestamp=2011-01-13 22:37:52.106, Address=192.168.3.20:8088, MachineId=27412, Location=machine:amd4,process:4428,member:Administrator, Role=CoherenceServer, PublisherSuccessRate=0.9975, ReceiverSuccessRate=0.9999, PauseRate=0.0, Threshold=93, Paused=false, Deferring=false, OutstandingPackets=0, DeferredPackets=0, ReadyPackets=0, LastIn=261ms, LastOut=277ms, LastSlow=n/a) received from Member(Id=22, Timestamp=2011-01-14 08:21:22.284, Address=192.168.3.121:8092, MachineId=27513, Location=machine:H1,process:3716,member:Howard, Role=Order_entry_window, PublisherSuccessRate=0.8326, ReceiverSuccessRate=1.0, PauseRate=0.0024, Threshold=1456, Paused=false, Deferring=false, OutstandingPackets=0, DeferredPackets=0, ReadyPackets=0, LastIn=0ms, LastOut=8ms, LastSlow=n/a)...which is Member-9 recieving a message about the departure of Member-3 from Member-22, so you would then need to look at the logs for Member-22 to see why it thought Member-3 had departed and also look at the logs for Member-3 for that time to see what might be wrong with it.
The more worrying message would be these...

Do you have GC logs of these processes. Are all the servers connected to the same switch or is the cluster distributed over more than one part of your network? Do you have too much on one machine, are you overloading the NIC, are you swapping, all these can cause delays and/or los of packets.
We have had problems with storage disabled nodes doing long GC pauses and causing storage nodes to drop out of the cluster. Our cluster was on 3.5.3-p8 whereas you are on 3.6.0.0 which is supposed to have better node death detection so you might not have the same issues we had.
Sorry to not be more help,

  • Display drop down in the breadcrumbs region

How can I display a drop down in the breadcrumbs region on opposite side of the breadcrumb entry? I have played with Displayed and element properties of the drop down but did not made any difference. The Drop down is displaying right below the breadcrumb entry. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Try:
1 - Create an HTML region in "Page Template Region Position 1" and set it to Column 2
2 - In the "Region HTML table cell attributes" setting, put: align=right
3 - Put your select list in this new region and set the Label Alignment to Right and the Horizontal/Vertical Alignment to Right
As long as your breadcrumbs are in the region position, they will be on the left and your select list will be on the right as setting the new region to Column 2 splits the row into two cells and the remaining settings above just ensure that everything is displayed to the right of the second column.

    Hi Jona,
Sometime Inner Events might cause this problem.
While handling events avoid processing/handling inner events. pVal.InnerEvent is a boolean property that helps you to identify this issue. So I suggest you to use EVENT FILTERING, if you are not doing that.  Let me know if you still have issue.
As Ad Kerremans said, you try to catch events by global  try catch.

  • The Cluster service is shutting down because quorum was lost

Hi, we recently experienced the above issue and after looking for explanations I haven't been able to find any satisfying answers when other people have posted this issue.
    Our problem is as follows:
    2 node 2008R2 cluster running SQL 2012
Each node is a HP BL460c running in a HP C7000 Blade Chassis.
We were updating the flexfabric cards on one of the chassis.  The other chassis had been patched the previous week with no problems.
During the update process the flexfabric cards, which hold the Ethernet and FC connections, reboot so before work had begun all active cluster services had been failed over to the node in the chassis not being worked on.  However despite this the cluster
service shut down on this one particular cluster.  All other clusters running across these 2 chassis continued to run as expected.
As other people have posted before we saw the following errors in the system log.
1564: File share witness resource 'File Share Witness' failed to arbitrate for the file share
1069: Cluster resource 'File Share Witness' in clustered service or application 'Cluster Group' failed.
1172: The Cluster service is shutting down because quorum was lost. This could be due to the loss of network connectivity between some or all nodes in the cluster, or a failover of the witness disk.
Run the Validate a Configuration wizard to check your network configuration. If the condition persists, check for hardware or software errors related to the network adapter. Also check for failures in any other network components to which the node is connected
such as hubs, switches, or bridges.
However we cant understand what could cause this to happen when the service is running on the node in the chassis not being updated, especially when the same update was performed the week before with no issues.  How can both nodes lose connectivity
to the File Share Witness at the same time?
Cluster Validation tests run fine and don't highlight any issues.  The file share witness is accessible from both servers.

    Hi,
Please confirm you have install the Recommended hotfixes and updates for Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Failover Clusters update, especially the following hotfix.

  • Rtmt error exception in publish content on Critical Services cucm

Can  anybody help to me or suggest what is the problem.
    Thanks for advanced.

i found the problem just now, this occurs when you have a mixed cluster UCS/MCS, the reference of this bug is presented in the next link,
    http://tools.cisco.com/Support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId=CSCty47592
this was fixed in the release  8.6(2.23061.1) and up.

  • How to upload files in cluster without bringing down the cluster.

    Hi,
    Here is my problem:
My weblogic portal 7.0 application should run in 24x7 environment. The production
system is running in a cluster mode with external staging. Both the managed servers
are pointing to the same application sync database.
So to give a solution to this problem, we are trying to bring down one managed
server down and apply the patches into that managed server without bringing down
the other. Since webflow files and entitlements needs to be synchronized with
the portal database. If we perform a sync on the portal database, there might
be a chance that it might corrupt the existing portal database state. Our deployment
would not be complete unless we perform a sync on the other managed servers. So
we could not able to update the latest pathces into the cluster without bringing
    down the cluster.
What I would like to know is "Is there any work around to get rid of this problem?".
I would be delighted if any one provides the solution.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Ratnakar

    Hi Ratnakar,
When you perform sync you do it against the admin server which in turn does it
to the managed server. If you want to apply any changes to webflow you can do
it on the live system itself. I mean apply the new webflow and entitlements and
do the sync on the live system. Also while doing sync there are two modes. One
mode will sync only the modified changes and the other will apply all of it. You
can opt for the first option by which you can sync only the modified changes.
This may bring a small disturbance but it will be unnoticed.
The other option is to have two separate domains(each having one admin & one or
more managed servers) which may be having two separate portal databases. In this
way you can apply patches to one domain while other domain may provide the service.

thank you thank you for taking an interest. this is so frustrating.
i only have apple keyboard, mighty mouse, and 20 inch cinema display connected. this morning took out memory and tried to boot up with individual pairs in the first bank. first the (2)256, the (2) 1g, and then the other (2) 1g modules. everytime I get the weird fuzzy wheel under the logo after a while, black screen flashes, then grey apple logo fuzzy screen then black forever.
I ran tiger updates this morn. still will only boot to safe mode. then tried to run leopard disk to install it
will not boot from leopard disk.
tried safe boot, then doulble click install leopard, restart, then the saga repeats with the pixely red square around the wheel.
these are fresh drives with only what came on instll disk loaded.
thanks again for taking an interest.
i love this system(well at least i did). I want to install leopard on my powerbook too but am terrified to do so right now since it is working and I have work to do. Can't afford to have no computer to do my work on...self employment is great?!
This is making me crazy. I anxiously await your words of wisdom.

  • The cluster service terminated, error 7024, cannot create a file when that file already exists

    I have a test 2-node Failover cluster using Server 2012 R2
As of last night the cluster service on one of the 2 nodes is down with this error:
The Cluster Service service terminated with the following service-specific error:
Cannot create a file when that file already exists.
    EventID 7024
The Cluster service waits 60 sec, tries to start, and the same error occurs again.
Any idea where to look to identify which file this error is referring to, or how to go about identifying root cause and getting a solution?
    thank you.
    samb

    Hi Yeswanth
Then you can try with a "Add Counter". This will create new file each time with the same name but a counter will be added to the file name at the end specifying the number of times it is created.
You can also the specify the format to create the counter once select this option u can correspondingly fill the Format and step fields.
    Will this be fine.
