Rubbish Bin Icon on Android 4.4.2 tablet A5500 disappeared

Yesterday my tablet A5500 suggested I should do a system update (I suppose this is an Android update, but I'm not sure). After this update I've lost my bin, so I can no longer remove anything.
Could anyone tell me how I can get my bin back or how I can restore it or how I can switch back to the last version of Android, that I only downloaded one month ago?

Hello Monarch, thanx for your quick reply! Before I tried your suggestion of resetting the system, someone I know suggested that the Android people may have used an iPod/iPhone trick, and that is indeed what happened: pressing your screen now opens extra crosses over your icons. You can delete your apps by clicking these crosses. This makes me wonder though: perhaps I should have bought an iPad after all...

I just got brand new Lenovo tab A7-40 with Android 4.2.2. When I brought it home all was fine, then when I connected tab to the WI-FI an update appeard and after applaying the update- the RUBBISH ICON is gone. I went to the shop and got another tablet as replacement. Came home all was fine..... until same update done same thing. Factory reset does not help.
Do you know what is wrong?

Unfortunately your video is private....I can't watch it.
That being said...There's nothing wrong with your tablet,just got updated to Android 4.4 and Lenovo's Android 4.4 new UI=User Interface(you were running Android 4.2 before).
On the old 4.2 UI to remove/uninstall an app you had to long press on the app's icon and drag it to that RUBBISH ICON.
Now on the new UI(and on Android 4.4 devices in general) things are a lot simpler: Just long press on the desired app icon and then press the ''X'' situated on the upper left side of the icon.....That's it....No more ''RUBBISH ICON'' on Android 4.4 KitKat.

What rubbish bin? There is no Trash like on Mac, or Recycling bin like on Windows. If you deleted an app or other content, it's gone. There is nothing to empty.

No, I haven't noticed. Mine works fine.
All I can suggest is the standard troubleshooting steps in order.
Restart your phone: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset your phone: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Suport for 96x96 icons for Android

Any chance AIR 3.7 and Flash Professional will add support for 96x96 icons for Android deployments? This is becoming a much more popular icon size on newer Android devices.

Hi... I notice that the most recent beta (1820) has an item in Notable Fixes and Enhancements that would indicate support for 96x96 icons on Android - (3504874 - [Android] Android xhdpi icons (96x96) are not supported). At least I interpret its inclusion in this section means it was fixed.
Are additional updates to Flash Professional product required to take advantage of this. I installed this version of the SDK and don't see 96x96 as an option in the Android Settings. Also if I manually modify the application.xml and add an entry for a 96x96 icon, it is stripped out when I publish.

I am working on the Android version of my AIR app and reading the documentation about icons:

it seems like the app only needs 5 icons for Android:
"On Android, the icons specified in the application descriptor are used as the application Launcher icon.
The application Launcher icon should be supplied as a set of 36x36-, 48x48-, 72x72-, 96x96-, and 144x144- pixel PNG images.
These icon sizes are used for low-density, medium-density, and high-density screens, respectively."
I am just double checking, as the iOS version needed a far longer list of icon sizes, but are these five the only icon sizes needed to package an APK with AIR?

You are correct in only needing those 5 icon sizes. The next thing I go on about, you may or may not already know. One thing that you will have to do though is get the application settings finished as much as you can through the UI because you will have to manually edit the file to add the remaining two sizes. The Flash Pro interface only supports the first 3 sizes. To add the remaining two, you have to manually edit the XML app descriptor file, adding in the other two icons, then save and set the file permissions to read-only. After that, you can publish the app and it will have all the sizes. The read-only part is required because Flash will overwrite whatever changes you make to the XML file when you publish.

Hi Dennis, thank you for the reply. I have Adobe Reader installed and open. When I click on the pdf documents an error message box opens and says "Error. The document cannot be opened beacause it is not a valid pdf document". Perhaps the pdf's on the USB memory stick are corrupted. I can't open them on the laptop either. I'll reload them and try again.

does't suprise me at all sony needs more experienced beta testers really those that actualy use device bit more extreme then normal user would.
If something is stable in extreme conditions then its likely perfectly stable talking about actualy running lot apps leaving everything open and opening new tab for anything etc while doing normal every day tasks that everyone usualy does or more.
other then that they should probably test much longer have bit more patience while testing while perhaps testing 5 tablets at same time.
perhaps they could use some software that mirror commands they do to nearby tablets on a grid so they can even test 100 tablets at once to see which one gives in and randomly shutdown first.
or just to to have a different build on each tablet to see which one is most stable and which one fails so they can rule out bad builds.

I drag Firefox icon onto quick launch task bar, but it disappears everytime upon Windows start-up.

I had Firefox in my quick launch task bar. One day it disappeared. I dragged the Firefox icon from "Programs" to the quick launch bar. It also showed up in C:\documents and settings\owner\ Application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\. But every time upon Windows start-up, the Firefox icon appears for a few seconds and then disappears. The entry in C:\documents and settings\owner\ Application data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\ also is no longer there.

Many thanks for the quick reply. I have done as you suggested. I ran SFC, which did not report any errors. I copied to a USB stick and then deleted all traces of Firefox from my machine, not only in the "Programs" directory but also in "AppData". I downloaded the UK specific Firefox Full Installer and reloaded the application.
Everything is now working exactly as it should and Firefox is back as my default browser.

When will Adobe AIR support 96x96 and 144x144 icons for Android?

I´ve been searching the Forum for any hints on this. I´m not sure but is there really no solution for it!?!?
The first post I found was this one: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1088092 from October, 25th 2012 asking for a solution.
One year after this post I installed Adobe AIR 3.9.0.1050 to Flash Pro CC - but I still can´t add these Icons. Really?
Do I miss anything? Can anyone please tell me how to add these Icons to my Android App so I can upload it?

The new update(Flash Pro CC release - November 2013) that allows to publish the AIR applications with newer icon, is now available to you. This Flash CC update will update your flash version to 13.1.0.217.
You can update from the Adobe Creative Cloud application or from Flash Pro CC Help -> Updates menu.

Can't find hardware icons on android samsung galaxy s4?? Firefox OS 31.0 SGH-I537

Read all the topics and there is no icon for hardware on samsung galaxy s4 active phone. There was an icon in April 2014. After April update, numerous factory resets in August/flashed and other updates I can't find the hardware icon. I signed up to be a volunteer and I received a message to activate and introduce myself which I did. I have received no reply from any mentor from Mozilla support group.

Is it possible to change the Skype instant message icon apperance on my android phone (Motorola Droid) so I don't get Skype IM's confused with a text message? When I get an instant message from Skype, I'm not sure if it's a text message or an instant message from Skype since the icon looks the same. I'd like to difference the two. Thank you.

Trash bin icon on recent apps screen (4.4.2 / Z2)

Hello friends!
Recently, a hovering trash bin has appeared on my recent apps screen on my Z2. I have no idea why, I cant interact with it in any way, and its just sort of sits there.
