Ruined credit by Verizon from a final bill that was NEVER sent

I have the exact issues as MANY Verizon customers. I was a LOYAL customer for at least 10 years and moved Verizon services with me twice. My last move I wasn't able to use Verizon so I was forced to use another company for internet and cable. Showing appreciate for my years of loyalty, Verizon decided to RUIN my credit without even a phone call or letter informing they were going to do so. I gave them my new address, returned all equipment and paid what I thought was my final bill. I didn't find out I had anything outstanding until I received a letter at my new address from a collection agency. I got this letter right as I was trying to qualify for a new home. My credit score dropped 100 POINTS!!!! Somehow the collection agency had my new address but Verizon never entered in their system OR sent me a final bill. I have disputed this charge with all 3 credit companies and Verizon STILL will not remove. Apparently, if you are loyal to them for MANY, MANY years, never miss a payment, were never late and have no choice but to use another company for service they want to ruin your life for 7 years. I called Verizon MANY times, spent hours on hold and speaking to rude, uncaring, unprofessional reps and was hung up on several times. You can't reach anyone that can help you - they transfer you from one department to another and get ZERO help. This is the WORST COMPANY I have ever dealt with and I will NEVER use any of their services again. I am unable to move and get a new home now because I was loyal to Verizon for YEARS. Thanks Verizon for ruining my life over $80 ...YEP $80!!!!! Not sure if any of the other Verizon former customers that now have ruined credit found a way to resolve this. If so, any help would be GREATLY appreciate as Verizon has no intention of doing the right thing. JG

I am very sad to hear that this has happened.  I always have problems with Verizon but I do not call the contact number located on the website.  I google "Verizon corporation" and call that number to speak with a more professional individual.  I have received positive assistance in each situation (sad to say there was more than one issue).  Anyway, I suggest you not speak with an agent on the "Contact Us" number.  They are very rude, non-caring individuals.  Hope this helps so you can by your home. • I just found out my credit score dropped because Verizon One bill put me through collections for my final bill that I never received and after almost two hours on the phone transferred back and forth they still could not confirm if I owe money or not.

After 2 hours transferred back and forth between billing, one bill, home and wireless no one could prove that I owed money.  Wireless said I owed nothing and home said I had a credit for cancelling a couple days before the billing cycle but owed for wireless.  After a three-way called between Home and Wireless and Wireless insisting I do not owe anything, the Home representative disconnected herself, the wireless rep promised me a call back the next day to get the other department online and to get everything resolved.  No one called me back next day and the day after.  Knowing this could go in circles and don't want to do anything bad to my credit, I paid the settlement amount to the collection agencies.  Now I saw that my credit score got ding for an amount that Verizon couldn't prove that I owed.  I should not have paid it at all.   If someone from Verizon reads this message, please get back to me and get this resolved.  After more than 15 years with this company, this is making me so frustrated.  I liked Verizon services but at this point I am going to start looking for someone with better billing.

I called customer service, spoke to Verizon Wireless Representative but they cannot pull anything on my record.  So after two transfers I asked to speak to financial services.  Spoke to Ronnie Ext 5100.  Representative was very rude, not listening, kept on insisting that since I paid the collection agency I cannot dispute.  Said should not have paid the collection agency.  Rep was over talking, not listing to me explaining my frustration of being on the phone for hours in November between Verizon OneBill, Home and Wireless and got nothing resolved, and that's why I paid.  Said there's nothing she can do except to put a note to Credit Bureau that the account is paid in full.  I asked to talk to a supervisor or a manager and she said no one can do anything else.  I insisted and she asked me to leave a phone number to call back.  After all the calls and speaking to many reps, this is the worst.  Now I am back to square one waiting for someone to call me back.  And my credit score is still one hundred points lower thanks to Verizon!!!

  • I just updated my os to lion and had to reinstall firefox . i accidentally lost all my bookmarks. I have a backup from before the update that was done through time machine but I can't find firefox in there. How can I retrieve them ?

I also have the app for my iphone which is still synced with my account and has my bookmarks there but I don't know how to get them onto firefox. The account i used to sync my bookmarks on my iphone app was under the email address [email protected] as is this one. I tried logging in with the first account but no pw I tried worked. I tried to get a new pw from the site but I was never sent an email to reset it so I created a new account under the same email address.

I got my contacts back by doing another restore!  Relief..
But only a very few odd apps are showing up on the 3GS
    Any suggestions?

  • How do I import music from a flash drive that was formatted with a windows PC to my MacBook?

How do I import music from a flash drive that was formatted with a windows PC to my MacBook - the drive is showing it has over 3GB of info on it but none of the files are showing up in finder?  I had backed up my iTunes library on the flash drive about a year and a half ago before I switched from a dell to a MacBook pro.

What I found works for me is to make sure iTunes keeps the music files organzied in the iTunes Media folder according to album, artists, etc. and that it copies the music files there when adding them to the library.  That way, if something happens to the library, the raw files can always be re-imported again.

  • I have a MacBook and am running Mac OS X 10.6.8, I thought I couldn't get a virus but a friend recently told me she got one of those stupid link emails from me that I never sent. What can I do?

I have a MacBook and am running Mac OS X 10.6.8, I thought I couldn't get a virus but a friend recently told me she got one of those stupid link emails from me that I never sent. What can I do?

When a virus infects a Windows PC one of the first things it does is mine the PC's e-mail address book. It will then send out e-mails containing itself to addresses in the address book using another address from the address book as the sending address.
The only way you can tell where the e-mail comes from is to look at the long headers. In Mac Mail View>Message>Long Headers.
So it probably wasn't sent from your Mac but from a PC who has both your addresses in his mail .

  • I was sent an email from a family member that was not her email address with just a link and open the link. What should i do?

I was sent an email from a family member that was hacked that had a link and by mistake open the link, what should I do.

Spammers harvest email address from a variety of sources. Just because your family members name is on the email does not mean that your family members email was hacked. But it's a good idea you let them know you did receive that email. In the meantime do not respond to the email and delete it from your device.

  • HT201269 How do you get photos back from an iphone that was never backed up?

help!!! is there any way to get pictures restored from a phone that was never backed up to the icloud?

If you never backed up the photos anywhere, and they are no longer on the iPhone.... then they are gone.
Next time, back up your photos more regularly.  Use PhotoStream.  It's free.

  • How do I remove songs from an ipod touch (that we never put on there)?

My daughter has a 5th gen ipod touch. When she opened it tonight, there are songs on there that we never put on it. I plugged her ipod in and opened itunes and the songs showing on the ipod are not showing up as being on the ipod when we are looking at itunes. In other words, when I am in itunes on my pc, when I click on music under her ipod's name it only shows a few songs (the ones we manually added) but not the ones showing up in the music app on the device. I have it set to manually manage music and always have. How do we get them off the ipod? I have home sharing turned off in the ipod and cloud is not enabled. How did they get on there and how do I get them off? These songs were not all bought through itunes but they are in itunes on the pc.
Also, "show all music" in the ipod settings is not on. Also, these songs were not on it yesterday. She listens to music every day using the shuffle feature and up until tonight, only the few songs she manually added would play. Now they all want to play (and it's not all of the songs from itunes either, so I'm not sure what made just these songs show up).

automatic downloads is turned off and already was. Nothing happens when I swipe left and right on songs that are not supposed to be on it (and they are also not showing as being on the ipod when it's plugged in). I don't think the songs are actually on the device but they do play when she shuffles her songs and she doesn't want that. And there's no rhyme or reason about which songs are showing in the songs list.
As for syncing, the ipod had not even been synced since we first bought it and put songs on it. The correct songs were on it the entire time until yesterday. It had not been synced at all (only plugged in to charge and itunes was never turned on while it was plugged in). What is involved in "syncing correctly"? Don't you just hit the sync button in itunes? We have 5 ipod touches in our household and have since 2009 or so, so we aren't complete beginners when it comes to them. We've synced before.
eta: for now I've created a playlist of the songs she originally wanted on there, so that she can at least shuffle through just those songs. We'd still like to solve this though.

  • I need to export photos from my ipod touch that was synced to my old PC which crashed.  I have a new PC with itunes.  My itouch is backed up to it now but I don't want to sync it because it warns that my itouch content will be erased.  Help!

My old PC crashed.  I now have a thousand or so pictures on my itouch and nowhere else.  I have backed up this itouch to my new PC with itunes.  I want to move or copy the pictures from my itouch to a folder on my new PC.  The older photos do not show when I look at the folders, just a handfull of new pictures that were saved by game apps on the itouch.  What is the best way to do this?

The photos are on the ipod.  Photo sync will erase them.  I need a way to extract them from the ipod, or to.extract them from the ipod backup that is who knows where on my PC.
I've been searching for an app to do that with no luck.  They all seem to want a newer OS than is on my ipod yet I have the most recent update installed.

  • Can I restore my iPad from a sync/backup that was made on a different computer but copied to my current one?

I regularly sync my iPad with my mac by plugging it in with the USB cable and hitting the "Sync" button in iTunes. Until recently, I had a computer with Leopard that just died. Luckily I had a backup of everything, including my iTunes folder, on an external hard drive. When I plug my iPad into my new computer (which has Lion), I can see all my apps and my preferences regarding what to sync have been saved.
Unfortunately, one of my apps, Papers, had a lot of information on it that was lost recently and I'd like to restore that information if possible. The Papers support people told me that it should be stored in my iPad backup, so if I restore it from a backup I should get that data back. But on iTunes is says that the last backup on this computer is "unknown". I don't know if that means there is no backup, or if it just doesn't know the date because it was copied from a different computer. Regardless, it makes me nervous to hit restore when I don't know if I have a backup or not.
    My questions are:
    1) Can I access a backup of my iPad on my new computer?
    2) If so, would I just hit "Restore" and it will give me the option of restoring from the backup that was there?
I want to make sure if I restore my iPad I won't lose anything accidentally!
    Thank you!

I just wanted to update this chain since I was able to solve the problem I had. My iPad backups were on a time machine backup, but not on my new computer. In my most recent time machine backup I navigated to:
~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup and took the most recent folder from there. I copied that folder into the corresponding directory on my new machine, and then when I opened iTunes and plugged in my iPad it was there and I was able to restore it!
Note that if you have multiple devices, you can open that folder in the Backup directory and find the info.plist file, and near the top it will say the name of the device, so I was able to tell which was my iPad backup and which was my iPhone backup.
    Problem solved!

  • Can I recover photos lost from an iPhoto library that was on an external HD?

I had about 2,000 photos on my iPhoto library that was being stored on an external HD that is plugged into my AirPort Extreme base station 2TB.  Today, I imported another 550 photos from my iPhone to that library and now all that seems to be there is the latest iPhone import.  I can't find the old photos anywhere - they seem to have vanished.
I tried running iPhoto Library Manager's rebuild function but it only comes up with the 550 photos I imported today.

You can try a file recovery application like File Salvage - you can download a free trial and it will scan the disk for you and tell you with might be recoverable. Actual recovery will require that you purchase the app. There may be many files with the same or similar names. Always recover the largest file size.
There are other such apps. Search on Macupdate or the App Store
