Rule around text boxes?

How do we remove the rule around text boxes?

Hi graphicscoordinator,
There currently isn't a option in FormsCentral to remove the rule that appears around text fields. There is a Feature Request form where you can sumbit your request for this feature, however. Visit https://adobeformscentral.com/?f=XnF-KJVCovcEVQz9tZHYPQ.

  • Unable to removed rules around picture boxes

    Using CS3. Fairly new user of InDesign. It appears that the weight of rule around a box s set at zero. However a rule still appears around the picture. Not all boxes appear to have this, so it would seem that there is a setting somewhere which sets this as a default. Can anyone please help a new user with this. Thanks.

    When you say it appears, do you mean on screen or in print?
    If in print, make sure that in addition to being set to zero weight that the stroke is also set to None color -- generally, these two are linked together behind the scenes, but it is possible to have one without the other. Logic in (some?) PostScript RIPs impose a minimum weight of 0.25 points to prevent very light strokes from becoming completely invisible -- this is what can cause a zero-weight but colored stroke to appear in print.
    If on screen, you're probably mistaking the frame edge display for a stroke. Use View/Hide Stroke Edges to convince yourself there's no stroke (or switch to a preview view). After that, it's a matter of personal preference whether you have stroke edges on or off.

  • How do I get rid of various lines around text boxes when using navigation panes

    How can I get rid of these various lines that are displaying sporatically around different text boxes . . . but only when the navigation panel is displaying?  I previously had the issue and changed the text box properties to no fill.  It fixed the problem in the document with no navigation panel, but once the navigation panel is displayed the lines appear.  And yes, I fixed the text box properties before creating the bookmarks for the navigation panel.

    Every device, browser and browser version has its idiosyncrasies.
    Just using a stroke and a drop shadow should not have been enough to require Muse to convert the page fill to an image. Were/are there also other effects on the page? Are the page corners slightly rounded?
    Bevel and Inner Glow definitely require an image to be created. Most other effects/properties do not.

  • Stroke around text boxes??

    Is is possible to give text boxes a stroke?? I am creating a announcement sheet and the previous way they did it was in publisher where they had a background and then a filled text box with a stroke around each one.

  • Gray Box Around Text Boxes in PDF

    I've created a text box with a picture frame "stroke" (the one that looks like a slightly curled piece of paper). When I export the file to PDF and open it in Acrobat, in addition to the background graphic of the paper with the drop shadow, there is a faint box that circumscribes the actual text box within the graphic. This faint box does not display when I view the PDF in Preview (or in Pages). This happens in both Pages 08 and 09. When I print from Pages or Preview, the faint boxes are not there. But when I print from Acrobat, they are. Also, I've created the PDF from both the Share>Export option and the Save PDF option in the Print dialog box, with the same results.
    Is there any way to not have this faint box appear in the PDF when viewing it in Acrobat? This problem is preventing me from being able to distribute the document in PDF format to PC users.
    Thanks.

    I'm disappointed that Pages '09 still does this, although it may be because of Adobe's wacky way of handling PDF documents. I've posted examples of this on this forum before, but nobody was able to help. The line artifact isn't because of the text box, but rather the picture frame effect you're applying. These lines not only appear on screen in Acrobat, but print that way too.
    There is a workaround I use when I create Pages documents using graphic borders like the curled paper one you mention.
    Instead of exporting your Pages document as a PDF, use *Print>PDF>Save As Postscript...*
    The PDF button is at the bottom of the print dialog box, select *Save As Postcript* from the pull-down.
    Once your .ps file is created, double click it and it will open in Preview. Then save it as a PDF from Preview using *File>Save As...>PDF*. Open this file in Acrobat to check it, and you'll find that the border problem has gone away.
    One note: Upon close-up side by side comparison, you'll notice that your graphics aren't quite as crisp looking, like they've lost some resolution. But I've had both versions professionally printed at high resolution, and the difference is very minor. It's just that the original Export feature of Pages produces better looking PDF files, especially on Macs. Your PC users have to use Acrobat Reader, which doesn't seem to render PDF documents as nicely on screen.
    Hope this helps.

  • Simple question around text box action listeners....

    Hi, I'm hoping there is a simple solution to this question.
    What I have is a text box, by default it will be empty. what I'm looking for is Some kind of action listener to be kicked off when ever a user writes in the textbox......
    here is a little bit of code i'd "like" to do....
       textBoxBean.addPropertyChangeListener(new PropertyChangeListener() {
                public void propertyChanged(PropertyChangeEvent event)
                     if (businessTypeBean.getText() != null){
                         // do somthing
                     else{
                         // do something else
            }); The only problem is the the silly thing never gets called.....
    a silly question but, unfortunatly all this is change a tooltip and enable disable a button based on weather or not there is something in the textbox....... Sigh......
    Any ideas would be great.
    Cheers,

    But you do waste your time with the above.......... With the hope that you will actually learn how to ask a meaningfull question the next time.
    You still have people totally confused about what you are asking. Some people think you have an AWT based question. Others think its a Swing related question.
    Your question is about an ActionListener, but you code shows a PropertyChangeListener. It seems like you are asking about a Swing component, but there is a Swing forum for Swing related questions.
    We are not mind readers. Ask a well thought out question and you will generally get a well though out response.

  • How do you put rules around a text box ina pages layout template? The inspector tab seems to allow rules on top, bottom or both, but not on all four sides.

    How do you two format facing pages to appear as a single page for a photo spread?

    It seems you have one question in the title and another in the post.
    1. Select the text box. In the Inspector palettes Graphic tab choose Stroke. You can chose Line or Frame.
    2. See this discussion Double Page Spread?

  • How to put boxes around text

    Hi
    I have a section of text that i want to put a box around as an outline
    I managed to do this using   the inspector - text - more - border and rules.
    everything looks great in the authoring tool in both orientations.
    However, When I preview the book on the ipad the boxes are perfect in landscape but the showv outlines for each line of text that ends with a carriage return.
    Is this a bug with the software...
    Mark..

    Govan,
    1. It's helpful to give a full and complete description of your problem when first posting in order to get a complete answer and avoid follow up posts.
    2. There's no need post the same answer twice.
    My answer: The stroke/line around a text box is all or nothing. If you want to eliminate the line between adjacent text boxes you'll have to draw a white line over the offending line to cover it up. Once this is done, select both text boxes and the line (using shift-click or command-click) open the Arrange menu and choose Group (or press Option-Command-G). This will keep the white line in place if the text boxes move.
    Good luck,
    Terry

  • Wrap Text box around text

    Does any one know if iweb offers a feature to shrink the text box so it just fits around the text...I know how to do it manually but was wondering if there was an automated feature....I haven't found it
    or if iweb has a feature that allow you to lock objects together so they become one object...I am adding text and a picture to a few boxes that are 2 tone green with a border and it would be great if once I created them I could lock them...I haven't figured out how to do that ...any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Solved: InDesign CC: Problems with text in text box: text flows around invisible object

    I just upgraded from CS4 to CC. I have two problems with text in some text boxes:
    The text seems to flow around invisible object that I cannot find or delete. It's as if there is a photo or other object behind the text box; but when I press COMMAND-a to select all, I don't see any such object.
    When I move this text box, the layout of the text within changes. For example, when the box is high on my spread, the text flows correctly within the box; but when I move it down, it flows around that hidden other object. For another example, when the box is low on the page, the text starts at the top of the box; but when I move the text box up, the text starts somewhere in the middle of the box.
    I have checked margins of the text box and the paragraph options of the text paragraphs (margins, indents, alignments). They all look OK.
    If I modify the text box, checking the box "Ignore text wrap", then the problem goes away; but then the text also will not flow around a real object that I want it to flow around.
    Solution:
    There were objects in a hidden layer on that one spread. It seems that in CS4 when you "select all" you would also select objects in hidden layers; but in CC it doesn't.

  • How to set up rules/conditions on a drop down box to ensure its been filled if a value in a text box is selected.

    Hi, I am in midst of creating a form in infopath. I have a text box field in which the user will enter the number of issues he has. if the user has entered the number of issues he has, then he will need to select the type of issues from a multi selection
    box. Thus i need to know how to set up rules/conditions to ensure that the user has to complete the multi selection box if he enters a value in text box for the number of issues.

    I assume what you are asking is to make multi selection box as mandatory. If not please explain with a example
    Try below:

  • Creating a frame around a text box?

    I'm new to Illustrator (I'm running CS4 on a Mac) and I'm creating what is essentially an organization chart. (It's actually something more of a decision tree, but that's not important.)
    I've searched some other forums and I discovered the Area Type Options. I'm using that to create 6 pixels of inset spacing between my text and the outside of the text box. Now, I'd like to have a 1 or 2 point frame drawn automatically around the text box. One place told me to go to Object > Text Frame. However, when I highlight the text box and go to Object there is not Text Frame option (either available or grayed out).
    It doesn't seem that I should have to manually go through the work of drawing a rectangle around every text frame.
    Can someone point me in the right direction to have Illustrator make the blue (electronic) frame into a real visible one?
    Thank you in advance,
    Bflat Blues

    Thank you so much. That did the trick.
    However, I'm surprised how arcane this simple technique seems to be. I wanted to draw a straightforward org chart and Illustrator didn't appear to make it straightforward at all.
    It's probably me. From what I can see, a new Illustrator user trying to use it for something this simple is like using dynamite to kill a fly.
    I just need to play with it more as I'm working through exercises.
    Once again, thank you.

  • Is there any way to keep a photo/text box  where you placed it after it is checked as inline, I have text wrapping around many photos-Pages seem to move the photos to the middle of the page and that will not do for my project.

    I have a book I want to sell as an EPUB when done...only one problem I got the message when doing so: " floating objects aren't supported in ePub format" So I found out by checking inline format that will work but it moves the text box and photo to where it want to go and not where I want it to be...this will not work so how do I make it stay where I place it and still save without the error of floating object issues.... In addition, when I let it go where it wants to go it lets me stay as an ePub and takes me to iTunes producer ( I have my books on iTunes made with iBooks Author) and is this right...I want to make it ready as an ePub not for Apple but for other eBook readers... Can anyoe help? Thanks

    I copied text & paisted it and then draged the 3 photos from the file...then clicked on the photo then clicked the inline boxon tool bar nexed to floating one and that is how I did it
    I do not know what you mean "cut & paist"  how do I get the photo in from my picter folder if I do not drag it to the page in Pages?
    I went to my photo folder and copied a photo and paisted the photo on the top left part of the page and it went there but there was no text to the right of photo...I could crop the photo to what ever size but no text to the right of photo...
    This is just too big of a mess of a program as it should be easier then this,,,I hav e 300 photos in this project and would have to re-paist them all...that is nuts...
    I see the button to the right of inline and floating that has 6 [lace to have the photo but the text does not float around the photo...
    If this is what your talking about this very little freedom in my page layout as I need it to let me place it where I need it to be and the wrap the text...
    There has to be an easier way to get my books ready for other formats other that Apple's iPad...iBooks Author was way eisier to make ready for iTunes...Love that program!!!
    Want my books for sale on all the other formats and was told by Apple Pages whould do it...
    I must be be out to lunch or the designers at Apple are ???

    I have never used my mac for desktop publishing before and am running into some real problems.  How do you put a border around a text box?  Can you edit the border - color, thickness, etc.?  Help!

    I think the best solution is to read Pages documentation, go to Help and you have a long list of options. Pages is capable of quite sophisticated things, some features are above Nisus or Mellel, so it is not so simple to summarize things in a few lines.
