    Hi All,
    i'm trying to build account dimension from rules file along with properties.
    My source file for dimension building is like below:
    Parent,Member Name,Alias,Consolidation,Storage,Time Balance,TB Skip,Variance Reporting,Two Pass,Formula,UDA1:Account
    Account,Acc1,,+,Dynamic Calc,None,None,Non-Expense,Two-Pass Calc,,Revenue
    Acc1,Acc2,,+,Dynamic Calc,None,None,Non-Expense,Not Two-Pass,,Revenue
    Acc1,Acc3,,+,Dynamic Calc,None,None,Non-Expense,Not Two-Pass,,Revenue
    after building dimension 'non two-pass' values are showing as 'two-pass' and 'non-expense' are showing as 'Expense'.
    if any one knows please let me know.

    hi John,
    Here i'm building the dimension through generation build method.
    setting the properties as
    Field, Dimension, Field Type, Field Number
    Field1,Product,Generation,2
    Field2,Product,property,2
    Field3,Product,Generation,3
    Field4,Product,Generation,4
    After mapping it shows dimensions are correctly mapped.
    When i load the source file and the rule file, it shows error partially loaded data,.And it doesn't shows the shared member property. That is what asked How to modify the source file for building shared members using Rules file.
    Thanks,

    Now I have to create rule files to update these aliases.
    Please elaborate, so that it will be clear for me. As I am new, please make it up with steps.

    You dont need to create a rule file. You can create a alias table like this in a notapad
    $ALT_NAME 'First'
    0000002452 TA
    0000002459 HJ
    0000002460 HK
    0000002462 HM
    0000004012 CB
    0000004015 EA
    0000004025 BA
    0000004070 DA
    0000004087 GC
    0000004088 FD
    0000006231 CM
    0000009103 WP
    0000009106 WV
    0000009126 WW
    0000008458 NH
    0000008475 NY
    0000008481 NF
    0000008483 NG
    $END
    and Save it as First.alt and You can import like this
    1)Open the outline in edit mode.
    2)Select Outline > Import alias table.
    3)In the Open dialog box, select the alias table import file.
    4)Click OK.
    go to outline properties and the new alias table must be made Set as active to view the alias names.
    you can create and import up to 10 alias tables

    Essbase server 11.1.2.3.501 server LINUX red hat

    Hi John,
    it's not quite that
    I will provide more detail:
    In fact, we are 3 server Essbase : development, acceptance and operational there are a lot the new version of Essbase 11.1.2.3.501.
    The maxl treatment are launch since a other server : a treatment server that are a client maxl and ESSCMD in the same version.
    Before that, I'm migrate all the application and database from all alder server Essbase to this new architecture Essbase.
    All application and DATABASE (in BSO) was migrated by expot-import process, the all object (csc, rul, rep ...) was transfer by copy in each directories of database.
    The test after migration are very  satisfying.
    Now, we are on process of life on the Essbase server 11.1.2.3.501.
    The back office of India used the usually process to developed the lot.
    They take the source on SVN application (take the rule), deployed the rule on the development server, modify the rule and have this error.
    This error not appear after migration with the same rule ...
    I am skeptical
    Tx to your help on this subject.

  • Using rules file

    using rules file how to create consolidation signs like +,-,%,*etc..in the outline.

    You need them in a seperate column in your dim build then tag them as a "Property" from the Dimension Build Properties tab.

  • Data Load Rules file - Conditional load

    Hi,
    I need to create a data load rules file to load sales data. The data comes at product, entity, month, year, version, scenario, account level. I need to load data only towards two of the entities, NCC and NCCCBU, i.e if the product is coming under a particular hierarchy called UK then it needs to get loaded against NCC entity member and if the product is under the CBU hierarchy it needs to be loaded against the NCCCBU entity.
    All of the data comes in the same file so I need to load it in one go without splitting the file into two.
    Thanks
    Vikash

    You can achieve this.
    In the data load rule when you are mapping the entity column.
    set the propperties like this:
    Field properties -> Global Prpoperties
    Replace with
    UK NCC
    CBU NCCCBU
    Field properties -> Data Load Prpoperties
    Map the column with entity dimension.

  • [Digester] Problem using recursion in xml rule file

    Hi!
    I am trying to parse an XML file using digester but getting a problem. The file has a recursive tag. The format of the file given below:
    <dpr-domain name="AircraftPerformances">
              <dpr-data-category name="AircraftClass" systemOption="FULLOLDI">
                   <dpr-attribute name="landingSpeed" systemOption="HALFOLDI"/>
                   <dpr-data-category name="holdingParameters" systemOption="HALFOLDI">
                        <dpr-attribute name="maximumspeed1" systemOption="FULLOLDI"/>
                   </dpr-data-category>
                   <dpr-data-category name="turnRate" systemOption="FULLOLDI,HALFOLDI">
                        <dpr-attribute name="maximumspeed2" systemOption="FULLOLDI"/>
                        <dpr-data-category name="accelerateRate" systemOption="HALFOLDI">
                             <dpr-attribute name="maximumspeed21" systemOption="FULLOLDI"/>
                             <dpr-data-category name="descendRate" systemOption="HALFOLDI">
                                  <dpr-attribute name="maximumspeed211" systemOption="FULLOLDI"/>
                             </dpr-data-category>
                        </dpr-data-category>
                   </dpr-data-category>
              </dpr-data-category>
    </dpr-domain>
    The rule file I have written for this is:
    <digester-rules>
         <pattern value="dpr-domain">
         <object-create-rule classname="check.Domain"/>
              <pattern value="*/dpr-data-category">
                   <object-create-rule classname="check.DataCategory"/>
                   <set-properties-rule/>
                   <pattern value="dpr-attribute">
                        <object-create-rule classname="check.Attribute"/>
                        <set-properties-rule/>
                        <set-next-rule methodname="addAttributes" />
                   </pattern>
                   <set-next-rule methodname="addDataCategory" paramtype="check.DataCategory"/>
              </pattern>
              </pattern>
    </digester-rules>
    But this is not working. If the "dpr-domain" tag is removed, then it works. Please help me by giving a solution for this problem.
    Regards,
    Arshika

    For this scenario,
    First I have used FCC for the same structure and CSV is also generated, but the CSV when opened with NOTEPAD it is not showing endSeparator , i.e my first row last element is concatenated with second row first element,there is no row seperator.
    But the same when opened with WordPad,we can see the data, row wise
    now the destination system open the file in notepad only.
    for that i tried using this Bean specified above but it is not fulfilling the requirement.
    The parameters I have mentioned in FCC are as follows:
    Recordset Structure : E1WBB01,E1WBB03,EAN_MASTER
    NAME                                      VALUE
    EAN_MASTER.fieldSeparator     ,   (comma)
    EAN_MASTER.endSeparator     'nl'
    E1WBB03.fieldSeparator            ,
    E1WBB03.endSeparator             'nl'
    E1WBB01.fieldSeparator            ,
    E1WBB01.endSeparator             'nl'
    Please provide a solution,why thr endSeparator is not shown in notepad.
    Thanks

  • How can I edit the rules file?

    How can I develop my program which can access rules file?I know that Hyperion didn't provide APIs to set properties of rules files.

    There is not way to edit the contents of a rules file (short of trying to reverse-engineer the file format for a load rule and write the file out yourself).What is it you are trying to do? While it would be nice to be able to use an API to create a rules file, most of the the things you use a load rule for do not require the ability to change them programatically.Regards,Jade----------------------------------Jade ColeSenior Business Intelligence ConsultantClarity [email protected]

  • Is this possible: SQL Dataload with generic rule file?

    Hello,
    when loading a flat file into Essbase, one can define in the header the data load field names. In the data load, the dimension names are given and at the end the Data. In the rule file under Options > Data source properties > Header a reference to this line could be made. This works fine.
    We want to load data with SQL in the same way. One load rule with a substitution variable for the view selection and we can use it for all data loads. We have specified the dimension names in the table column header. The data column was defined as "data" - without quotes.
    The result so far is, it will not load.
    The question is - does somebody tried this before and can help me on this?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Philip Hulsebosch
    www.trexco.nl

    the data column can be repersented in multiple ways, the way I typically do it is to define it to the member it belongs to. In my example where your substitution variable &currmth is "Jan" then "Jan" would be the column name. Next month when the sub var changes to Feb, it is Feb.

  • Need the ability to export rule file field mappings

    Hi. I have a number of rule files that have a large number of field mappings (i.e. the Replace -> With options on the Global Properties tab). I was just wondering if anyone has found a way to export these to excel or similar.
    Thanks

    "The reason is due to bad print when having a view is shaded" Could you please explain?
    What are you planning to resolve? Which format has the printing issue?
    What other print options you want to use in addition to the forcetoblack?
    Please provide samples and steps to reproduce the problem. Thx

  • MDT2012 Upd1 - Settings in rules file are not reprocessed after selecting another TS

    We use MDT 2012 Update 1 and we have several tasksequences.
    I found an article on how to use different settings per task sequence (from Mike Walker). This works fine.
    So, when I select a task sequence and click next to go to our next screen in de Windows Deployment Wizard (the Computer Details) the settings are correct.
    Unfortunately when I click back in the Windows Deployment Wizard to go back to the task sequence screen and change to another task sequence, the old settings are still visible in the Windows Deployment Wizard.
    Is it possible to clear the settings and to reprocess the rules file?

    Yup, that's a problem. when parsing CS.ini, there are some variables that are skipped if they have already been added. If you create CS.ini that will populate the TimeZone, If you go back and re-run the cs.ini, TimeZone won't get set again, because it's
    already present.
    Instead I would recommend using the Johan Method:
    http://www.deployvista.com/tabid/36/EntryID/139/language/en-US/Default.aspx
    That will *NOT* allow you to get settings within the task sequence, but hey...
    IF you need to reset the Task Sequence, you can create some code in the TS selection Wizard Page to delete a set of variables whenever it's entered.

  • Essbase rule files

    Hi
    How does ODI works when I use rule file to load data into Essbase. Does it still uses the KM or it uses rule file to load data..
    I know there is a bug in Essbase KM for data load.. whats the difference in having the load rule in the interface to not having the load rule for loading data?
    Also for loading Dimensions can load more that one dimension in the same interface using the load rule?
    -app

    Hi,
    1. Essbase is not a RDBMS, but it has its own database - file based.
    So, we would need a rule file to load data to Essbase.
    2. We cannot load to 2 different dimensions with the same integration [This is because every essbase dimension becomes a target and you cannot specify more than one target in an integration].
    Even in the Essbase rule files, you need seperate rule files for different dimensions. This is because every dimension has different properties and Essbase needs to know which dimension to send the members, while loading.
    Let me know if this help..
    Cheers,
    RS

  • Essbase Rule File

    Hi All,
    I have to build a conditional rule file. I have a huge data in an excel file .
    Based on two column values , I have to map the data to a different member in the outline.
    Example : In the excel file , If Col1 = 4321 OR 5443 OR 8766 and Col2 = 765 then load this data into Expenses .
    Similarly If Col1 = 8821 OR Col1= 2134 OR ... Col2 = 9911 OR .. then load into Revenues ..
    Like this I have to form somany conditions.
    Please let me know how I can build the Rule file ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    If you really have to do this in Rule file -which I don't highly recommend, then below are the steps:
    1. Duplicate column 1 and 2
    2. Merge duplicated column 1 and 2 with an "-" in between. (i.e. 4321-765, 5443-850 etc)
    3. Select this field and go to field properties, replace corresponding combinations to either "Revenue" or "Expense".
    4. Complete the field, header mapping etc. and load your data
    Cheers,
    Alp
