Rule no longer working (MobileMe account)

I create a rule to direct a specific domain to my junk box. This is for my MobileMe account. It worked for a while, both on my iMac and my iPhone (on the iPhone I would see the mail come in, then get moved out of my inbox after a few seconds)...
However, in the last couple weeks it doesn't seem to be working anymore. The rule is very straight forward, just take anything with a certain domain and junk it!
Any advice?

I see.  That is somewhat aggravating but I will find another way to achieve what I wanted I suppose.
Thank you.  Should I mark this is solved or unsolvable or something?  Sorry, I'm new to posting on these forums.
Edit:  I was able to achieve what I wanted with udevil as recommended by the wiki.

  • Mail Rules no longer working

Recently (after the iCloud) my mail is full of garbage that had previously had rules applied. The rules are no longer working, even if applied manually. If anyone is having this problem or know of a solution please advise. Thank you in advance.

I just had the same problem after installing MtLion a few days ago. Went to Mail > Perferences > Accounts > Rules and rechecked the box for the Rules I had setup before the Upgrade/Update.

  • Mail rules no longer work.

Having trouble with Mail rules that I have used in the past - they no longer work. Any ideas? Running 10.4.10

Yes, the same thing has happened to me.
But I'd like to avoid having to set up the the rules again (if I trashing the com.apple.mail.plist. I have a lot of rules, and it would take some time to set them up again. Does anyone know of other options?

  • [SOLVED] udev rule no longer working

I have a udev rule set up to automatically mount an ext4 filesystem when I plug a certain thumb drive in.  It was working fine until yesterday (probably due to updates).  Here is the rule, in file /etc/udev/rules.d/99-gfk.rules:
    KERNEL=="sd?2", SUBSYSTEM=="block", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0930", ATTRS{idProduct}=="6545", ATTRS{serial}=="1C6F654E4041ED601910053F", SYMLINK+="gfshare"
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd?2", SUBSYSTEM=="block", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0930", ATTRS{idProduct}=="6545", ATTRS{serial}=="1C6F654E4041ED601910053F", RUN+="/bin/mkdir /media/gfshare"
    ACTION=="add", KERNEL=="sd?2", SUBSYSTEM=="block", ATTRS{idVendor}=="0930", ATTRS{idProduct}=="6545", ATTRS{serial}=="1C6F654E4041ED601910053F", RUN+="/bin/mount -t ext4 -o ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,noatime /dev/gfshare /media/gfshare"
The symlink and the mkdir command are both working fine, but the mount command is not being run for some reason.  If I manually run the mount command it works fine.  Some possibly helpful output:
    # pacman -Qo $(which udevadm)
/usr/bin/udevadm is owned by systemd 212-1

I see.  That is somewhat aggravating but I will find another way to achieve what I wanted I suppose.
Thank you.  Should I mark this is solved or unsolvable or something?  Sorry, I'm new to posting on these forums.

  • Mail rule no longer works - how 2 debug?

i have a mail rule which takes an attachment & sends it on to an fba for further processing (via a do shell call) then moves the mail to a done folder.
my shell script works perfectly when invoked from the cli, but doesn't seem to even get called from the mail rule (which used to work under tiger)
and since "perform mail action with messages" doesn't allow interaction, i can't salt my script with display dialogs to debug...
so where does mail rule output go? is there an error log somewhere? console shows nothing...

on a hunch i added a delay right after i saved the attachment...that fixed it.
but i still don't have a way of seeing what's going on in a mail rule script.

  • Mail "Rules" no longer work in Mavericks

I have a lot of rules for moving incoming mail to certain folders I've set up.
Once I upgraded to Mavericks, it seemed that Mail just exploded with problems. Certainly Rules stopped working.
So I removed all my Rules (I have quite a few) and reinstalled them, one at a time.
Now? Sometimes they work. Mostly they don't. Sometimes they work sometimes *for the same sender*.
Any ideas or is this a "known problem"?
    Jeannette

Same issue here.  For the first 3 days after I set up some rules they worked fine.  Then today they don't.

  • Mail Rules don't work in Mavericks

It seems with the update to 10.9 Mavericks Mail rules no longer work. My email address was harvested by spamers and I have been using rules to weed throught the 100's of emails that I receive each day.
Russian Brides, Vigra, Learn a new language get moved into the trash when delievered. Now nothing happens.
I just tried to write a new rule and when I clicked the Prefs pannel I got the spinning cursor. After waiting for some time I did a force quit only to find that Mail was not responding.
Anyone have any ideas? I did not see any major changes with Mail and Mavericks so I'm not sure why it's been effected.
    MD

You might condider using an Applescript with Mail Rules.
Here's one that I use (Use whitelist to not move to spam):
(Just edit to your junk or whitelist)
Note:  The Applescripit must be saved to: ~/Library/Application Scripts/com.apple.mail/
    The rule:

  • IChat No Longer Works With Expired MobileMe Trial Accounts?

In the past, you could use an expired .Mac (now MobileMe) trial account's username, to log into and use iChat. But I believe now that this no longer works. Apple must've changed the rules. Can anyone else confirm this? I haven't been able to use iChat for about a month now, logging in with an expired .Mac trial account username.

Have not heard of a expired .me not working.
Try logging on to AIM on port 443 rather than port 5190.
Go to IChat in the menu bar > Preferences > Accounts.
Log out of AIM and then use the Server Settings tab
    Set the port to 443.
    Log back in again.
might be worth a try .
"change your user login setting to AIM, do not use .MAC setting
in user name field, type your full user name. example : [email protected]
it will not appear the password incorrect error."

  • POP Accounts no longer working after 3.0 Update?

Before I upgraded to version 3.0 of the OS, I had two POP3 email addresses set up on it, they are still there but no longer work (download or send) nothing in the settings has changed from pre 3.0
Anyone else experienced this problem? Anyone got a solution?
My .Mac/MobileMe accounts are working as normal BTW....

    Delete and re-install them.

  • How do I create a MobileMe account to publish my site if Apple no longer offers new MobileMe members?

I don't have a MobileMe account and I click to create but I can't, probably because they came up with iCloud.

In your case, MobileMe is no longer an option.  For current MobileMe users, they are just several months away from it not being an option for them either.  iWeb will still publish using FTP.  There are several 3rd party web hosting options catering to iWeb users but most hosts will work just fine.  But some design elements are only available to MobileMe users.
    iWeb is a beautiful and easy way to publish but there are a few things to consider;
    1.  There are many other non-Apple options that do this sort of thing much MUCH better.  It's been a few years since Apple gave it a significant update.
    2.  Unless Apple reverses itself, iWeb, while still functional, is basically end-of-life.  It never made the transition to the Mac App Store which is now the only retailer for future iLife products.

  • Will my website, which I published through my mobile me account, no longer work as soon as I switch to iCloud, or will it continue to be supported until June. I know I will have to publish it at Go Daddy or something similar, but am not ready to do that y

Will my website, which I published through my mobile me account, no longer work as soon as I switch to iCloud, or will it continue to be supported until June. I know I will have to publish it at Go Daddy or something similar, but am not ready to do that yet. I just got an iPad 2 and want to get swtiched over to iCloud, but will wait if it will make my website inaccessible.

Your iDisk, together with your website and Gallery if you have one, will be unaffected and will continue exactly as before after you migrate to iCloud.
The migration process will probably log you out of MobileMe so you may need to go to System Preferences>MobileMe and log back in to be able to access your iDisk in the Finder. Web access will be unaffected.
You will need Lion 10.7.2 on your iMac.

  • MobileMe Sync Failed.. but I no longer have an account

Every time I try and use the internet on my iPhone 3gs I get a popup that says "MobileMe Sync Failed". I used to have a free MobileMe account, but no longer used it because it expired. The account is not in the settings on my phone any more, but I am still getting this popup ALL THE TIME! I would like to know how to get rid of the message. I do not use any MobileMe accounts at the moment, so I would like it to stop because it is REALLY annoying.
    Thank you!

Restart your iPhone by pressing and holding down the Sleep/Wake button until you get the slide to power off.
If that does not work then...
    Reset the iPhone. Setting>General>Reset>
If that does not work then...
Restore the iPhone to it's factory settings and test.

  • The computer my iTunes account was locked to no longer works

As the title says my computer that has all my tv shows and that on no longer works.
I was reading when I bought the tv series and that, that its locked to one computer only. So what happens now that its broken?
Do I have to rebuy everything when I get a new computer or am I able to re download once I get a new computer?
Is there anything I can do?
    thanks
    penguincat

Content is not locked to a single computer. You do, however, get only one download per purchase for any content other than apps and iBooks. So unless you have a backup, as iTunes itself advises you to make, or have those shows on an iOS device, you may indeed have to repurchase them.
If you lack a backup and an iOS device with those shows, your best hope is that the hard drive in your old computer still works. If it does, you can mount it to your new computer, either internally if there's room for another drive or in an external case. You should then be able to drag the TV shows and any other content from the old hard drive into the iTunes window in your new computer. Once there, all you should have to do is authorize the computer to your iTunes Store account (Store menu in iTunes -> Authorize This Computer).
    Regards.
    Regards.

  • How to make multiple MobileMe accounts work in iCloud?

I have 2 MobileMe accounts.  One is an old @mac.com that I use strictly for e-mail.  The other is my current @me.com (with an alias @me.com address) that I use for everything including iTunes store account.  I've already moved my @me.com account to the cloud.  Here are my questions:
Do I move the @mac.com to the cloud on my iMac?  Will it override any calendars, contacts, etc.?  I want to add it to my iOS devices as well (iPhone and iPad at least).  I see under accounts on my iPhone I can add an iCloud account, but can I add it without compromising all the data from my @me account?
Do I have to do anything to the alias account to move it?  Will it go away if I do nothing once MobileMe goes away?
    Thanks for any help.
