Rule or script or not possible?

Here's the deal. I have several rules set up that move my incoming mail to various mailboxes. Once in those mailboxes, I can't seem to figure out how to have individual emails deleted after a 30-day period. It appears that rules only automatically apply to an email when it is first downloaded and once it is transferred to one of these folders I must manually select all emails and run a rule to delete old emails. This is quite annoying with over 20 mailboxes.
IS THERE ANY WAY TO HAVE MY MAILBOXES AUTOMATICALLY UPDATED TO DELETE OLD EMAILS?

If the rules aren't working for you, you could set up a Smart Mailbox.
In Mail, in the menu bar, go to, Mailbox > New Smart Mailbox..., then configure it as follows:
Contians messsage which match (all) of the following conditions:
(Date Received), (is not in the last), (30), (Days)
Then select all the messages and delete them.... A little Automated and a little Manual!
You may want to look at the other options on theis screen as well!
These smart albums, folders are all over the place, iTunes, iPhoto etc.. and are very useful.
