Rules don't execute consistently

I get email from a number of technical listservs and want to move them all into one folder. I have set up a rule to do this. It seems to work erratically, sometimes moving them and sometimes not.
Even if I open up a mailbox with a bunch of emails from these lists and select apply rules from the menu, it moves some of them and not others or none at all.
What's up?

Almost certainly, there is something wrong with the rule.

  • Rules created in worklist application don't execute

    Hi all,
    i am using BPEL 10.1.3,
i created a simple rule in the worklist application to reassign all the tasks of jcooper to jstein, the rule is active (a green light is displayed in the Active column) but the task is still assigned to jcooper,
is there anything else to do in order for the rule to be executed?
    thanks in advance

There is a bug already logged for this issue and Development Team will start working on this.
Its also the same when 'delegate' is used to reassign some tasks from one user to another.
    e.g.
If jcooper is leaving the organization , his taks needs to be delegated to jstein.
But , delegating the tasks do not get assigned to jstein (confirming by logging in with jstein).

I've implemented the note 1101544 in the central system
executed the report Z_CNVTDMS_08_FIELD_SET with P_PHASE to 'S'.
and after this, I re-executed the activity "Execute Consistency Checks" from the extended mode of the process tree several times.
But it remains the same issue.
    Did I miss anything?

  • Business Rules Do Not Execute When Saving a Form

When saving a form the attached business rules are not executing. Sometimes we are unable to validate business rules via AAS. When this happens we do a security refresh from Planning to Essbase and Essbase to Shared Services. At other times, we bounce planning and even Essbase and this seems to fix the problem. Today we have tried every combination (bounce planning, Essbase, AAS) and we are able to at least validate biz rules in AAS but we (i.e., users) are uanble to execute the biz rule when they save via the planning form. There are no issues running the biz rules when saving the form using an administration account. Can someone explain what's going on or provide direction as to why this problem happens and how to fix this issue?

    Hi,
Well is your version 9.3.0.1? If yes then you have my sympathies :). We too have this version and face similar problems with Business Rules. Usually things come back to normal after following the steps mentioned above. However what I would want to know is the following:
    1) From where are you running the Business rules? I am asking this because if you are trying to run from Smartview then I would suggest you look at the time it takes for the Business Rules to execute. If it excedes the timeout settings then it will exit out. However the BR might still be running in the back ground. This you can confirm by looking at the data.
    2) Have you checked if you have installed all the patches?
    Hope it helps.

    Amol

  • RV180W - Access Rules Don't Work

    Hi,
We have a RV180W and the Access Rules will not work.  I'm trying to block HTTP and HTTPS services for a specific workstation on our LAN, but the access rules don't seem to be working.  I've also tried blocking different services as well as ANY service, but it's not working.  I've tried rebooting the router after adjusting settings; I've tried adjusting services from the Port Forwarding menu first; and a couple weeks ago, I upgraded the firmware to version 1.0.2.6 and repeated all the previous steps.  Nothing seems to be working.  So far the only solution I could come up with is to block the workstation's MAC address altogether, but I don't want that because I still need it to hit the internet for other services.
    Thank you,
    Ryan

These are the Access Rules I've tried (firmware v1.0.2.6):

  • Determinations don't execute if I call action from determination

    Hello,
I need to trigger an action from a determination. If I do it action executes, however all determinations are skipped. And as a result calculated fields remain with wrong values. I debugged a lot, and found that determination don't execute if action was triggered during internal update (like other determination). As for me - it it huge undocumented drawback that can lead to big problems.
Why it was done in such way and what should I do?

    Hi Johnny,
I had a similar requirement. In my case I had to trigger a validation from an action.
So I had an object created type ref to the validation class & then called the execute method of that validation class.
So in your case, trigger the action class in the required determination. So that after the execution of the action class is completed it will go back to determination & the rest of the determinations will be followed.
    Hope this helps you.
    Regards,
    Sanket.

  • Exchange 2013: Inbox rules don't work on Journal Mailbox

    Hello,
    I've Exchange 2013 server with 2 databases:
    * First database has all user mailboxes & is journaled to second database
    * Second database has only 1 mailbox: Journal which collects all messages send / received  from / to first database.
I made Inbox Rules on Journal Mailbox  to delete unnecessary messages e.g. :
    * HealthMailbox messages with Subject: Client submission probe
    * [email protected] messages with Subject: Inbound proxy probe.
I noticed that these rules don't work. Why ?
    best regards Janusz Such

    Hi,
How do you create these Inbox Rules on journal Mailbox? Please share the detailed rule content here and we can check whether the rule was created correctly or not.
Instead of journaling all mailboxes residing on a mailbox database, I suggest we can configure journal rules to match your organization's needs by journaling individual recipients or members of distribution groups. For more information about
    journal rules, please refer to:

  • Sa-update runs but rules don't seem to execute after restore

    Hello,
After a hardware-related issue I needed to do a server restore.  In general, things seem to be up and running.
One problem:  the spam volume has increased.  As I scanned through sample messages, I think the issue is that the rule sets that sa-update keeps current are downloading but not actualy being run.  I don't see any errors to suggest per se, just circumstanial indications elsewhere.  For example, the additional scoring parameters aren't showing up in headers added by amavisd in the mail messages, suggesting they're not being run.
I am admittedly not very experienced with managing the rule sets.  If anyone has any advice on what's going on (or a means to verify that they are running) -- I would be most appreciative.
    Thanks.

    Hi Joe,
Actually I was accessing DU with the restore disk in the drive, but no menu. Didn't have to hold any key down during startup. It would either want to install or give me access to DU. I did all the DU stuff numerous times. Sometimes it would give me errors on verify at which point I would repair until it said it was ok, other times it said it was ok. After each time, I tried to install...no go.
Holding C down only gives me the ? screen. I have to hold Option. That's how I figured out how to get to the cd's menu. Tried DU fixes from there...no go. I'm on my second attempt at restoring, but the copying bar is moving so slowly that it will take days at this rate. It's about 1/10th of the way after about 3 hours now. At this point I don't even think it's making any progress. No sounds from the optical drive. I think I hear the hd working, but not positive.
The first time it seemed to stall, I forced quit and when I went to DU, it showed Powerbook G4 software on the HD, which is what the optical drive lists is on the cd. It still wouldn't start without the cd in there tho. How long should this restore take if it's working?
This is driving me nuts...very frustrating. Nothing about a pc seems to apply here. At least on a pc, when you erase &/or partition a drive, you can install the os. I am absolutely regretting not getting a pc notebook instead. I'm a Digital Media Design student and instead of working elsewhere on projects that have deadlines, I'm not only not working on my projects, but am stuck at home bouncing between 3 computers (pc for internet, imac for converting downloaded files that aren't helping, and getting absolutely nowhere with this notebook. Sorry for venting, but I'm pretty proud of myself for not using profanity at this point.

  • Report and Alert don't executed in the error handler with a JMS proxy service

    Hi,
I'm working with OSB 11.1.1.4.0 and I'm facing a problem with the error handler of my JMS proxy service.
My error handler contains two main elements :
    - a Report action
    - an Alert with a JMS destination defined
When the business service failed the message remain in the queue. It's the expected behavior.
    The problem is :
    - the report is missing
    - the alert is raised but missing in the JMS destination defined in the Alert setting.
I've noticed if I add a Reply with Failure or Success, Report and Alert are successfully executed.
Unfortunately the message don't remain in the JMS queue.
What can I do in order to have my report/alert done and the JMS transaction rollback in order to keep the message in the queue ?
I've already met this problem in the past with alsb v3 and my solution was to add Service Callout in the error handler in order to externalize these actions.
This solution is not convenient and I hope another solution is possible.

Inventorying workgroups can be difficult, especially when it comes to remote access and network security. Because workgroups are not centrally managed, some of the items discussed in this
wiki article on preparing your workgroup environment may require you to visit each machine individually.
For non-domain credentials, you do not use the <systemname>\<user> format, you simply enter the user name. Regarding how to enter the credentials, if you have an account that uses the same username and password on all machines and is an administrator
on all of those machines, then you can enter that in the All computers credentials page of the wizard. You can also do this if they are different user names. However, if some machines have an account with the same user name, such as Administrator,
but different passwords on each machine, you will need to use the Manually enter computer names discovery method, and then enter the information for each group or each machine.
As you can tell, workgroup environments can quickly negate any benefit that the agentless inventory nature of MAP provides.

  • Hardware Rules don't work - failed to return a task

I am trying to make some post-imaging changes and though I'd give the Hardware Rules a go ( which I haven't used for a long, long time .. not in ZCM at least ). I am not getting an error similar to :
    http://forums.novell.com/novell/nove...rror-91-a.html
Except for mine doesn't have an error code, it just says "Error: Failed to return a task" when I check for work to do manually ( F9 when running img on the device ). This device has been factory imaged using the image supplied with Zenworks agent installed and zac fsg -d was done before hutdown. I am not sure if that matters or not as I belive h/w rules are supposed to apply to both registered and non-registered devices ?

When I try to apply the same imaging bundle to a different notebook ( using a different h/w rule ) - clearly using the right ProductName or BiosSerialnumber - it simply returns "No work to do". Which is better than failing to return a task but still .. doesn't do any work, really. Here it is:

Am I missing something here ?

Try Clearing the ZISD on the device and see if it follows the rules.
If so, we can go from there..............

  • Interface names get swapped, but udev rules don't work

I'm using the (apparently nightmarish) broadcom_wl module.
    This:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Br … every_time
    and this:
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … es_varying
don't work.  the 10-network.rules file I create is just completely ignored.
    Any ideas?
Arch is my distro of choice for my desktop, but it is turning out to be an enormous PITA on my laptop.

    hmmm,
    NAME
The name, a network interface should be renamed to. Or as a
temporary workaraound, the name a device node should be named.
Usually the kernel provides the defined node name, or even creates
and removes the node before udev even receives any event. Changing
the node name from the kernel's default creates inconsistencies and
is not supported. If the kernel and NAME specify different names,
an error will be logged. Udev is only expected to handle device
node permissions and to create additional symlinks, not to change
kernel-provided device node names. Instead of renaming a device
node, SYMLINK should be used. Symlink names must never conflict
with device node names, it will result in unpredictable behavior.
    try creating symlinks instead.

  • Sound rule doesn't execute properly

I have a rule that announces the arrival of a particular sender's message with three steps: move the message to a folder, play a sound, bounce the Mail icon. In recent weeks, the message arrives, gets moved, and the icon bounces. Sometime later, when I'm doing something with another message (e.g, replying or sending a new one), the sound kicks in. I've tried reordering the rule steps and had added and removed the "Stop evaluating rules" step, but it doesn't make a difference. Another poster thought it might be related to the fact that I'm using custom sounds vs. system sounds (which do execute immediately).
    Any thoughts?

"volume: can't open /dev/mixer " is for the users who use OSS so there; you should find out what uses OSS and change it if it is possible and not solely on oss.
and the error I am having is because I defined the specific software to hwd:0,0. so what i should do is to check my softwares and set the audio output to "default"
So in another word use you sound card and in output option of your sound card choose "default over hwd:0,0"
