Rules Lost

I was adding access rules to my border manager 3.9 server and when I apply
the last change I receive an error in imanager that says that i need to
execute fillattr manually.
I don't see the rules!!.
When I try to execute fillattr I allways receive in teh logger screen the
same message
MBAccess Main: failed to migrate Proxy configuration.
Failed. Migration Did not complete successfully.
I don't know how i could resolve this, I transcript the sentence i wrote
in the console
fillattr border cn=admin,o=estudio xxxxxx cn=border,o=bmanager,o=estudio
o=estudio
server name = Border
Server in in a ou called bmanager that is a child of my O that is estudio.
Could someone help me?

Netsh rules lost on reboot

I've created some portforwarding rules on our server.
And they are active while I am logged in.
But when I log off or the server shuts down, the rules get lost.
What is the best way to make those rules shown below permanent ?

Well i find the server 2012 firewall unstabel, i've seen some other posts about it too.
It seams when i logged on and run that cmd file, it keeps the process running a bit longer.
So i just lock my screen as admin on the server.
What i've done now is create scheduled trigger of the script 30 minutes after reboot.
But even then at random moments, a day , a week a month.. it can suddenly quit.
As if the advanced firewall by itself is unstable.
As for today for example suddenly our whole administration department couldnt access their software anymore because server 2012 had lost its mysql firewall rules, bizare.
I wonder maybe there are some vendors who sell an advanced firewall add on, with monitoring
Because i cannot trust Microsoft's stability here, its to much to unstable..

Mail filter rules lost after restart

Hi All
Recently, I found I will lose all the mail filter rules exept the News From Apple after I restart my macbook pro. Now the mail version is 7.2(1874), OSX version 10.9.2.

When i creat again and restart again, I will lose them again.

Access privileges lost in business rules

Hello everyone,
I noticed that my security for business rules have disappeared. Only my native admin account is able to see the groups that have access to BR through the EAS console. When I logon with my account or the main hyperion admin account (MSAD) I don't see the groups. I ran the sync utility and stopped and restarted the services but with no success.
Last Friday I copied over a production planning app into our dev environment and it seems that screwed up the business rules security.
Console version is 9.3.1.3
Does anyone have an idea on what is going on?

I think it will be more of an issue when you migrated the business rules 2 weeks ago, did you check the security after you migrated them, it can get lost on a migration.

Mail rules signatures lost

recently i changed my macbook pro (2008 late with lion) to the new MBP with ML. after that, at everytime i restart, l lost all rules and signatures. after i lost, even though i remade new rules and signatures, but i restarted again, i lost both. do you know how to fix this? thanks!

I wasn't clear at all in my OP, please forgive...
I do indeed see/know where my root user Library folder is. And within that folder the Mail folder, I see the V2 folder, and within that, the MailData folder, which contains all sorts of files. Several of these files indicate they have something to do with Rules, VIP lists, and Signatures. (Opening to preview these files in Time Machine even shows the data, albeit in code — of these assets as they existed when working.)
Upon attempting to restore these specific assets, the backups from Time Machine are NOT restoring the lost rules, signatures, nor VIP lists.
What's making this situation unique is this:
These sorting features WERE there when I had mail syncing under two iCloud IDs. In an attempt to "unify" my iCloud experience (across my MacPro, iPhone, and iPad) — I thought my rules, siggys, VIPs were under the "master" iCloud account. Evidently, they were not, and I deleted the account which contained these Mail function assets.
Currently I'm at a loss, as to where I can find the backup of those original assets — and where they go once I locate them in Time Machine. OY!!

Lost mail rules when upgrading to ML, can't restore from time machine

I've installed mountain lion and restored from time machine and mail rules were not there. There's only news from apple.
I tried to restore the rules myself (MessageRules.plist and MessageRules.plist.backup) but when opening mail rules were not there yet. Nevertheless, i can add rules manually, so if there was a way of looking at the past rules I could just copy them (though it's not the best way).

My rules are still there, so perhaps Apple support speak with resource forked tongue.
Comparing an old (pre ML) rules file from 20th June with the ML one, the differences are:
The file name was: MessageRules.plist, the ML one is SynchedRules.plist. Both are in my V2 folder, but the old Rules have been copied (by Mail, not me) into the new SynchedRules file.
In the old file, for each item (Rule) the first line was Active (Key) String (Type) 1 (Value). In the ML file, this line is no longer there, so the first line is AllCriteriaMustBeSatisfied.
You can see these differnces in the "preview" part of Finder Show Info, if you have the two files to compare.
Thus, just copying and renaming the old Rules file probably won't work, because of this difference. Mail probably just makes a new file because the copied file isn't as expected. It should be possible to edit the old plist file to remove the "Active" line, and rename it to SynchedRules.plist (but see below). The top is slightly different, just below <dict>, as this relates to the Active line. There are a couple of lines at the bottom that aren't in the new file.
The "Active" line that has gone is now in a file called RulesActiveState.plist. This file is just a list of RuleIds from the SynchedRules.plist (like this:

Doing this does sound rather tedious, but might be quicker than manually re-entering blocked email addresses etc. to replicate old rules. As plist files are in xml format, it should be possible to use a text editor to delete the unwanted "Active" line from the message rules list by Find & Replace All (with nothing). All this could then be copied to the "SynchedRules.plist. You would need to copy the RuleIds into the RulesActiveState.plist as well.
Make a copy of the files first just in case...

Set up rule and lost mail!

I thought I was doing a 'good' thing when I set up a rule in Mail that said if the email address does not contain my exact email address, please move it to the junk folder. I set it up for both my cable company's email address and for my Mac address. Went back into Mail- all messages gone from both accounts!! Wiped out. So I went back into Rules and removed both rules. The Mac mail reappeared but my cable company emails did NOT reappear. Now I can probably recover them cuz I back up every morning but since the backup this morning, of course I have gotten some emails which did not get backed up. What happened?! Where did they go? Can I get them back? Ugh! Judy

Mail rules are stored in iCloud if you use iCloud.
They're in ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~mail/Data/MailData/SyncedRules.plist.
Note you should be VERY careful about modifying anything under Mobile Documents as it's iCloud and changes/errors/deletions you make will be instantly synched to all your devices.

Rules being lost in SBS 2011 (?) and Outlook 2013

Hi, Got a query on this. I have quite a few rules set up on Outlook 2013 using our exchange system. Usually they work fine. Recently though some of them keep disappearing which is annoying. Some are local machine based and some are server based.
One particular rule does the following. A monitor sends me an email saying a system is down, when it arrives in my inbox a rule forwards a copy to two colleagues. For months this has worked fine, then all of a sudden it has stopped.
Two things happen, one is that this rule ( and similar ones) disappears from my rules list, it's hard to say when as you don't really notice when something stops working, you just wonder ones day why your colleagues are not dealing with things that go wrong
whilst you are out of the office.
The other thing I've noticed is that some rules sometimes (this redirect on receipt) get the check box for it turned off, also the rule is then in RED text. I do sometimes note an error/warning message about this rule too, but its been a while so I can't
remember exactly what this is.
Does anyone know why rules get turned off /deleted / set to RED text?
I've gone through some investigation and found that sometimes you can have too many rules and it is possible to amend settings so that ther is more space but I'm still looking for instruction on this (it's vague though I have done this before a loooong time
ago)
I know default space is 64kb and you can up it to 256kb, but I lack instructions for this, other causes apart from too many rules have been recorded as having rules with long names, but how long is long?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Please confirm if the Outlook rules are disabled by other users who have permission for your mailbox. Please backup all your Outlook rules. Run
Outlook /cleanrules to start Outlook and delete all client- and server-based rules. Then create new Outlook rules to have a try.

Connection with a server or service is lost

I have small network setup with Mac OS X as the server and around 6 clients (mix of PC's and Mac's) authenticating from OD on the server. Since last week I am getting this strange error from server admin "Connection with the server or service is lost. Contact the n/w administrator or try log on again.". I get this error message every morning and none of the server features can be accessed including the log in to the network which fails on all the machines. Everything will work fine when I reboot the server.
So, I wanted to know what is causing this problem & how to go abt fixing it?

I can confidently rule out the possibility of an intruder interfering with the network.

So there is no malware on the local client and server boxes, nor on any printers, nor on any WiFi widgets or managed switches or other network infrastructure, and there are no unauthorized wired or wireless connections? That's a very rare achievement. Congrats; most excellent work! (It's probably not malware, though; it's more likely some authorized activity or authorized person and not malware. Though yes, it could be malware.
As for the disconnection here...
This could be building cleaning crew borrowing an electric outlet for some of their cleaning equipment. Unplug router, plug in the cleaning equipment, clean, plug router back in, leave. Or some helpful security guards shutting off a power switch or a breaker as part of the nightly rounds, or any number of other variations, too. A vacuum cleaner running across a damaged network cable, or a glitch or sag or transient caused by a high-demand electric device changing its power state.
Find out which widget (router, switch, firewall, whatever) is involved and work from there.
Also look for traffic spikes and other such; for odd network traffic patterns.
Scheduled reboots of network devices or such?
Hardware problems?
Also look for time-out programs and idle activity monitors and related; these are rare on Mac boxes, but have been seen in other environments, and have been seen on various network servers.

started yesterday. No voice mail at all. When I tap the voice mail icon the phone immediately dials some number and that number rings busy. I can't select anything else. Using Virgin mobile/ I am stumped.

Other than changing the SIM card, you don't mention any troubleshooting you did with your phone.
If you haven't already, try the following steps as needed:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Setting.
Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.
Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
Restore in iTunes as a new iPhone
IF the last step doesn't fix it, there is a hardware problem and you should make an appt. with an Apple Store Genius Bar. The fact that you haven't dropped the phone by no means rules out hardware issues.

Move Mail Rules: Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion

I copied the following files from my SL (MacBookPro) to my new ML (MacBookAir):
user/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
user/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
copied into this directory on the new machine:
user/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/
Not sure what the "V2" is doing there, perhaps that's an issue? But, when I open Mail, the Rules are not showing up. Only the default "News From Apple" is there. Nothing else.

Thank you for the tips. This works about 90%. I was hoping for a more complete and elegant solution. For example, the "Previous Reciepients" list was lost. Also, I am afraid something else less obviouse was lost, but I won't realize it until sometime in the future.
I searched the Web farily extensively, and these discussion threads, to no avail. There was one tip that called for removing the V2 folder and droping your Mailboxes in there, but this left the Inbox and Trash mailboxes empty. (I would link to it, but I misplaced the link).
I even tried upgrading my old system to 10.8 Mountain Lion (thought this would do it for sure), but the Installer TRASHED my Mail completely. 3/4 of my email messages were gone, and the rest were in the wrong places. That was a shocker.
Any additional thoughts would be apprecicated. Also, any discussion on what is new in this Verion of Mail that required the new folder and Mailbox structure (e.g. the addition of the V2 folder in the Library->Mail folder). I have searched around a bit, but have not found an explanation. Any suggested reading would be appreciated.

I have a Cube (X) that gets data from a ODS (A) but one of the key figures gets the data from another ODS (B) with a routine in update rules and I want to change it to ODS (C)

Jabber for IPhone and Directory lookup rules.

At a client I have some problems with getting the Directory lookup rules to work.
I AD the costumer has formatteded the telephoneNumber in this format: +45 4444 XXXX
That is with 2 spaces in the phonenumber.
With Jabber for windows,cups, cucilync etc i have the choice of using "PhoneNumberMasks", so that I avoid the problem with the spaces.
But how do i do it with the directory lookup rules.
I need to make sure that I can do a lookup on 3 different calls.
Full E164 numer:     +454444XXXX
National number:     4444XXXX
Local call:               XXXX
Alt the moment i have those rules in place, but somehow I'm not getting the search for 8 digets national call.

Should still work. But would be good to check indial into jabber with the phone unplugged, just for testing purposes.
also, you have checked the partition and configuration on the TAB device is the same as on the deskphone?
Can you attach call manager traces when making a test call and attach to the case. Let us know the extension and device names you have used in the test, and a timestamp of the test.

Why is ipad2 still online and active when supposedly in lost mode and locked?

hey all,
i need some help regarding a situation i'm in!! the overview is i'm going through a messy breakup at the moment and my ex has possession of my ipad2 (a wi-fi model that's running ios6)!! it's supposedly for my 7 year old son's use (he's autistic)!! anyway, since it's registered to me, i had restrictions enabled with a 4 digit pass code where i had location services turned on, and i disabled my mail account and other things that would not be appropriate for my son to use or access, such as skype, facebook, etc!! basically, all that was on it was his game apps, safari, youtube and our photos of days out etc!! my ex was paranoid i was spying on her through the location service....... i explained that it was a security feature that would enable it to track it if it was lost or stolen!! she even thought i was listening to her conversations and watching her through the camera!! i explained this was absurd and paranoid!! anyway........
well, here's the problem!! after having the restrictions enabled for months, oddly enough after receiving a summons last week requesting her to attend court next week concerning the matter of my contact with my son, i noticed yesterday on my find my iphone app on my icloud account on my macbook the locations services was disabled and the ipad was online, being used!! realizing immediately she's obviously figured out my restrictions pass code and turned off the locations feature!! i immediately put it into lost mode (receiving an email confirming), and within minutes, it was offline for about 4 hours!! in the afternoon, i checked it again, lost mode was disabled and it was being used....... so i put it in lost mode again! 30 seconds later, it was disabled........ finally, i put it into lost mode and added a message that would be displayed on the screen stating 'be warned: i am aware you are using my passcode and password without my permission, which is a criminal breach of my privacy! ignore this & i will report to the police!'! it went offline! 7pm i received a text to my iphone asking my my son couldn't access the ipad and why was there a request to phone her! i ignored, as i know this was a game!! whilst in work, i received an email to my icloud mail inbox stating that 'lost mode had been enabled'......... making me realize she must also have access to my apple ID to gain access to icloud to enable lost mode! it stands to reason that you cannot tell the device you are actually using it is lost and lock it down!! finally, i updated the lost mode with a new message stating i was going to the police and she freaked out!!
so, that's the situation! the questions i need answered are:
*aside from a lucky guess, how else could she get my pass code and icloud pass word? is it possible the ipad has been jailbroken, hacked or spyware has been used to get my pass code and password?
*how come, when in lost mode, it says on the find my iphone feature on icloud that it's active (green spot) and 'online: location services disabled'? should lost mode not render the device unusable? i monitored it for at least an hour last minute...... it kept changing it's status from 'online: location service disabled' to simply 'offline'!
*in the 'find my iphone' app on icloud, next to the lost device, there's a symbol of an orange padlock! what does this actually mean? if it means it's locked, then how can it be online and seemingly active?
just to cap off, i've requested the device be returned to me (my ex has ignored this, stating only she intends to replace this device so she's free from my control and spyware) and i've contacted my solicitor who has offered to send an official letter requesting it's safe return!! as the device is registered in my name and contains my personal information, i understand the implications for her is that she's committed theft and possibly used criminal means to invade my privacy!!
any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
