Rumors. New Digital Book Reader (PRS-T3/T3S)?

As last summer for PRS-T2, this summer leaks out at the FCC visit, the probably new Sony Reader PRS-T3/T3S. In these public FCC documents:
https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Exhibits&RequestTimeout=500&called...
there are only photos, dimensions, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n) and battery capacity (3,7V, 3,6Wh)
and:
“Remark: The sample selected for test was prototype that approximated to production product and was provided by manufacturer.”
What do you think about it?

This is really beautiful!!!

But why PRS-T3 couldn't be like this...
Anyway: It'll be a Sony!!!

  • How do I get my Adobe Digital book read out loud.

    I am disabled and need to use text to speech. I purchased an ebook which is an Adobe Digital Edition. I have really enjoyed using Adobe Reader with the Read Out Loud feature and was shocked when I discovered I could not use this feature on the Digital Editions. If I knew Adobe cared so little about the disabled I would sought the book in a different format.
    Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to be able to get this expensive book read for me?

    I do not know quite what you mean by "paid for them to transfer all my data and programs over"...  I'm hoping you are not implying that you simply copied (had copied) programs from your application folder to your new computer.
    You still need to go through the installation process to install Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

  • Sony e reader prs 600 not showing in bookmark pane on my new Mac with Snow Leopard

    I have a brand new sony e reader prs 600 it is supported but I am unable to see it on the bookmark pane in my new Mac with Snow Leopard is it something to do with Snow leopard?  Or why can I not see my sony e reader?  thank you

    According to the Adobe website ADE 1.7.1 is compatible with Mac if you
    look at system requirements and with the Sony reader if you look at
    supported devices.  Though it doesn't mention Macs latest O/S.
    and if I download an Adobe digital editions book, can I then move it
    to Sony's ebook software, or is the format unsupported on the Sony
    Ereader?

  • I would like to convert my LPs to digital on my new mac book pro with retinal display . How can i do this?

    would like to convert my LPs to digital on my new mac book pro with retinal display
    . How can i do this?

    The new Mac's do not have analog audio in so you will have to go with a USB audio in device or else if you do not yet own a turntable (or are looking to upgrade) you could get a turntable that has USB out.
    The Griffin Technology iMic USB Audio Device is a low cost consumer grade solution if you already have a turntable.
    For recording I use Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder which does a good job and has the ability to run the audio signal through various filters.

  • How to reset the Reader Digital Book.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    There are two different types of reset procedures you can do on your Reader Digital Book - soft and hard.
    Soft Reset
    IMPORTANT: A soft reset can be performed anytime and will resolve most issues.
    Locate the reset button access hole. It is labeled RESET and, depending on your model, can be found on the back or bottom of your Reader device.
    PRS 500 NOTE: On the PRS-500 model, you must remove the soft cover to locate the rest button access hole.
    Using a thin object such as a paper clip or stylus (included with touch models), press the RESET button.
    The screen will not change after pressing the RESET button. You must now slide the POWER switch or press the POWER button (PRST1 only) to turn on the Reader device again.
    Hard Reset
    WARNING: There is a risk of data loss. After doing a hard reset, you will need to restore your content. Your purchased books can be restored from your account at the Reader store.
    IMPORTANT:
    You should only do a hard reset if necessary and as the last step for troubleshooting.
    After you do a hard reset, your Reader device will need to be authorized again from your Reader store account.

    I have a Kindle and have just purchased 4 new e-books - downloaded with Adobe Digital Editions. Now how do I get them on my Kindle?

    To remove the book simply touch and hold the cover on the main page.  A little pop up will ask, remove?  Say yes.  The book content will de deleted.   The cover will remain on your main page with a little down arrow so that you can redownload it if you wan in the cloud view.  In the device view, it simply disappears.
    Note at the bottom of the page are a couple of switches, labeled cloun and device.  The device switch shows you books on your device.  The cloud page shows your whole catalog, and the down arrow allows you to bring down anything in your catalog to the device.

  • Sony Reader PRS-505 don't appears on Digital Edition for Mac OSX 10.5

    I now, Sony® Reader PRS-505 appears on Mac as mass storage card, but in the specifications for Digital Editions, it doesn't say any think about that is not support for mac, and I would like to know if the Sony® Reader PRS-505 doesn't appears on my mac because is not supported by Digital Editions on Mac or because I have a problem. If not , Is going to be a support for it on the immediate future.
    Now that Digital Editions offer support for Windows I believe Adobe have to offer parity for Mac.
    Thanks very much.

    I can concur that this Mac workaround does not actually work, for protected digital editions checked out from a public library website.
    The Adobe staffer said that as a one time process, you can authroize the reader itself on a windows machine, by stating "Next, plug in your Sony Reader and then in ADE, select the Reader and choose "Authorize Device" from the Library menu"
    I did not see this option, the only authorize command in the library menu was to authorize the computer, not the reader.
    On my windows machine, my PRS-505 shows up in the Adobe digital editions software, and I verified that the copy of digital editions was registered to my adobe ID (email address). I can use the windows digital editions software to copy checked out titles to the PRS-505 no problem, they last the 3 weeks they are supposed to and open up fine on the 505.
    On the Mac, I can download checked out titles from the library to the mac digital editions software, and read them on the Mac. They last the 3 weeks as expected.
    I can also, using the mac's finder, copy the downloaded digital edition book to the reader, which shows up in the finder as a mass storage device. When I fire up the reader, the transferred titles are there.
    HOWEVER, if I try to actually read the checked out title from the library (that I copied over from the Mac) I get a blank screen that says "not authorized". Going along with this, the title, in the library view on the PRS-505, does not show the little "day counter" that counts down how many days you have from your 21 day borrowing window.
    So yes, you can use the Mac finder to manually copy a downloaded digital edition to the PRS-505, but its not actually authorizing that copied book to the reader, so you can actually READ it on the reader. That authorization process only seems to happen on a PC, when you use the digital editions software to do the copy instead of the Mac finder.
    So I don't think there is an actual workaround, at least not for me.

  • Can't create new digital ID/certificate - Reader shutting down unexpectedly

    I had Adobe Reader X (10.0.0) installed and when I went to Edit|Protection|Security Settings it would pop up a dialog then shut down immediately.
    I upgraded to the latest X build (10.2.1 or something), and the same thing occured.
    I turned off Protected Mode and now instead of just shutting down it showed an 'Adobe Reader has stopped working' dialog (I did save the crash dump file but then lost it unfortunately, however there was nothing obvious in it)
    I then installed version XI (not sure why Update didn't tell me about this).
    When I tried to start that, it shut down immediately.  I read here that this was a known problem of sorts, and ran the EULA program to allow it to at least start up.
    Next I tried to find the equivalent "Security Settings" dialog in version XI in order to create a new Digital ID, and eventually found what looked like the right option under Edit|Preferences|Signatures|Identities & Trusted Certificates.
    But when I click the "More" button...it just shuts down immediately.  The 'More' button for "Document Timestamping" causes the same thing, as does the 'More button' on the tab for Edit|Preferences|Security. I managed to get a screen shot and it's just the partly painted "Digital ID and Trusted Certificate Settings" shown before it disappears completely, with no other dialogs displayed or any options to capture the crash dump.  I attached a debugger to it and managed to get this stack trace:
    First-chance exception at 0x700b2a5a in AcroRd32.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x700de9f4.

  • If I buy a digital book in  EPUB size from a web site, how I may read it on my IPad? Specify that I didn't buy it from Apple Store.

    If I buy a digital book in  EPUB size from a web site, how I may read it on my IPad? Specify that I didn't buy it from Apple Store.

    First, epub has nothing to do with size, it is a file format that is popularly used for ebooks, but ebooks published in epub file formats vary greatly in file size.
    It will depend on where you buy it.  Many books are DRM locked (Digital Rights Management, a software lock).  If so, in order to load it into another companies reader or reader software, you need to use something like Adobe Digital Editions to "authorize" the book on the device.  Apple's iBook software does not work with ADE.
    If the book was DRM free, you should be able to read it in any ereader or ereader program that supports epub format.
    If the book is DRM locked to B&N, Amazon, Kobo or whichever seller you shopped from, then the simples thing is to download their free app for the iPad (they all make one, in fact they all make free apps for iPad, Android, Mac OS X and Windows).
    So the short answer is yes, you should be able to read any epub ebook file on an iPad, although not necessarily in iBook.
    So, books from
    Amazon - get the Kindle reader app
    B&N - get the Nook reader app
    Kobo - get the Kobo reader app
    non-DRM epubs can be read in iBook, Nook, Kobo, or Google Play

  • How to charge the Reader Digital Book.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Follow these guidelines when charging your Reader Digital Book:
    If you charge via a USB connection and leave your Reader Digital Book connected to the computer to charge and the computer goes into sleep/hibernation, charging will stop and the red charge indicator on the Reader will turn off. If left connected, your battery may begin to discharge. To avoid this, turn off any sleep/hibernation settings while charging or set your sleep or hibernation settings to come on after your Reader Digital Book has been charged and then disconnect it from the computer once charging has completed.
    If possible charge the Reader device using an AC Adapter (optional for some models). When using the AC adapter to charge your Reader device, depending on your model, you with either see a lightning bolt symbol that appears next to the battery icon [FIG. 1] or a battery icon with an arrow [FIG. 2] that appears in the lower-right corner of the display of your Reader device. This is an indication that it is connected to AC power and is charging the battery properly. If the symbol is not present, double check the AC Adapter to ensure that your Reader device is properly connected. This symbol does not appear while charging via a USB connection.
    It will take approximately 4 hours to achieve a full charge with a computer. It will take approximately 2 hours to achieve a full charge with the optional AC Adapter.
    If your Reader Digital Book is left connected to a powered USB hub while the computer is shut down, your battery may begin to discharge. Disconnect your Reader from the hub when the computer is not powered on.
    Always verify that your Reader is fully charged by disconnecting it from the computer and checking the battery indicator. The battery indicator will display 4 black bars when it is fully charged
    After charging your Reader device, if the Reader Library software is still open, you should use the eject button in the Reader Library software to safely eject your Reader device. If you already closed the Reader Library software, you should use the Safely Remove Hardware feature of the Windows® operating system.
    NOTE: When storing the Reader for a long period of time, use the Device Shutdown feature in the Advanced settings menu. After using Device Shutdown, it may take approximately 30 seconds for the Reader to start the next time the Reader is turned on.

  • How to authorize a Reader Digital Book to a Reader (eBook) Store account.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    To transfer books from a computer to the Reader Digital Book, you must authorize the Reader Digital Book to your account. Authorization links your Reader to your eBook Store account, allowing books purchased from the eBook Store to be transferred to the authorized Reader. You can authorize up to six devices to a single account.
    From your home computer and home network, do the following:
    Launch the Reader (eBook) Library software.
    Log into your eBook Store account.
    Turn on the Reader Digital Book.
    NOTE: For best results, we recommend that the Reader Digital Book be fully charged before starting the authorization process and authorized from your home computer and network. Work related computers and networks often have security measures preventing the authorization process.
    Connect the Reader Digital Book to the computer.
    In the eBook Store pane, click My account.
    On the Account Management page, under My Authorized Devices, click Manage Devices.
    On the Manage Device page, under We have detected the following attached Devices:, click the Authorize this device button.

  • Transferring adobe digital books from computer to reading device

    I recently purchased the CyBook reading device. I then went to ebooks.com and purchased 3 digital books. I downloaded them to my computer (Mac) and then attempted to place them on the Cybook. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get them transferred. Can anyone help?

    What kind of Samsung device?
    If it is a dedicated eReader it should show up in Digital Editions (ADE) when plugged in by USB.
    ADE 2.0- has compatibility issues with some eReaders; try the older version, see note at bottom.
    If it is a tablet, you need DRM capable eReader software; I suggest Bluefire.
    Then copy the books using a file manager (eg Windows Explorer, Mac Finder). to the mounted drive
    ~~~~
    There are lots of bugs in ADE2.0 (and 2.0.1).  Try replacing ADE2.0 with the older but more reliable v1.7.2.
    (You can have them both installed at once if you like.)
    Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.
    / searching / reading at both Adobe sites, Sony sites, library sites etc. for almos
    t one month to find a solution to this problem.
    I couldn't imagine that we had bought a device (Sony 650 Touch) that did not hold the correct software nor the correct manual. Unbelievable.
    To those who come after me... go to THIS SITE http://ebookstore.sony.com/download/
    and download the application for PC (top left) orMAC (top right). It takes time, but it works !
    I'm just so happy now !!
