Run 6i report on 10g report

Dear
I have to migrate forms6i applictions on DS10g; I have some reports wihch are using report paramter forms. As for as I know 10g report run on PDF or iexplorer.
My question is how can I call report from forms's menu and user some report parameter to filter report ?????

When we changed over to the 10g reports server all of our reports in 9i no longer work. This is the most common error we receive.

We do not use the keymap option. We pass all parameters to the report via the url. Will this cause a problem with passing %? Also, we do not use a DEFAULTCHARSET in the rwservlet.properties file. Could this be the problem?
Here is one error we get:
REP-50003: Bad command line: ps_tirnoadf= destype=cache ps_respoffc=TORAPER ps_eiacodxa=xxxx report=xxxxx.rdf userid=xxxxxx/[email protected] desformat=pdf ps_tirorgby=
Or we get this error:
REP-52006: Failed to decode the specified URL %1
These reports work when called from a 9i server and do not work when called from a 10g server.

Running the Forms and Reports in 10g

Hi Experts,
We are using 11.5.10.2 and oracle 9.0.2a s the database. Recently we upgraded 9i to 10g and its working fine. Now we are planning to Upgrade 11i application to R12.
We already developed some custom forms and reports in 11i environment and also working fine in production.I have developed one new report using 10g report builder and created the rtf template according the rdf file and registered in the 11i environment and after submit the request from SRS window..I am getting following error.
Environment will now switch to UTF-8 code-set.
Parts of this log file may not display correctly
as a result. This is an expected behavior.
XML_REPORTS_XENVIRONMENT is :
/testAPP/testora/8.0.6/guicommon6/tk60/admin/Tk2Motif_UTF8.rgb
XENVIRONMENT is set to /testAPP/testora/8.0.6/guicommon6/tk60/admin/Tk2Motif_UTF8.rgb
But i am able to modify the existing reports which are already registered in 11i environment. Please suggest the right approach!!!

From 6i to 10g "How to run a 10g report from OEM scheduler"

We recently converted all of our 6i form and reports to 10g. We had forms and reports running as batch processes.
Now that we are using 10g it is understood that we cannot run the forms as we did in 6i using OEM scheduler, so they were converted to scripts.
Our problem still remains, How do we run 10g reports as batch processes?
Can we use OEM scheduler?
Is there a better product to accomplish this task?

How do you execute your Reports ?
Do you execute it from the Builder ?
If you execute it from the Builder, do you use Run Web Layout or Run Paper Layout ?
(If you have upgraded a Reports From 6i, there is no web layout , so you have to use the Run paper Layout
The web layout is something new that appeared in Reports 9.0.2)

Steps to take.
(1.) In command prompt type RWSERVER SERVER=repserver1 to star the rep server.
(2.) If you get "Javaw.exe The procedure entry point psoasyn could not be located in the dynamic link library orapls10.dll." error do one of the following
        (a.) Type the full name for the server. D:\OracleDevR2\bin\rwserver SERVER=repserver1
               or, if it does not work
        (b.) Add D:\OracleDevR2\bin to the system env. variable PATH
(3.) Start OC4j
(4.) Now you can access the jobs using URL like:
    http://192.161.11.143:8890/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=repserver1
      where 192.161.11.143 is your machine's IP address.

Report Error when running 10G Report

i am running 10G oracle forms and reports and i am calling reports through 10G forms using web.show_document(url,_blank);
but the follwing error is printed on the new opened web page
REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server mtmreports failed
what is its reason ?

So the server (we will call it server1) you have "Redwood Cronacle 6.0.2" installed on has a C: drive and a D: drive. On the D: drive is installed Developer 6i (D:\ORADEV6I). You can install Developer Suite 10g also on the D: drive (D:\ORADEV10G for example). After that, setup Oracle iAS on server2. The good news is you have to change very little code. You can:
Not use the iAS server at all and use the following command (similar to how you are doing it now) in Redwood:

I am aware that discoverer report can run through command line using "dis51usr.exe /connect username/passward@connection_string /opendb "DISCOVERER.<<report name>> /export xls"".

Can you please mention from where we have to execute/run these commands? After setting enviornmental variable, are these commands run from any location or we have to go to particular server location and then execute (ex. from directory BI or else).

We have need to run 6i and 10g reports from the same physical server running OAS 10g.
Are there issues / conflicts?
There are hundreds of 6i reports called from many applications. Converting completely is a separate project on the books.
The need is to utilize 10g graphs on this urgent project. The graphing in 6i has not gotten along here with RAC and other distributed architecture. Additionally, I believe the 6i graph runtime would have to be installed on each client workstation... again, hundreds.

Report Developer 10g won't run

I wan't to run Report Developer, but when I start it only appears Reports logo: Oracle Reports Builder 10g and nothing else.
In the task manager there is the rwbuilder.exe.
What can I do?

the other products had functioned normally. Only the Reports presented this behavior. <<u never know until u get to spefifics. Usually products are certified to run on specific jvm versions.
That means it is fully qa tested on that jvm.
It doesnt necessarily mean it wont run in previous jvm version, or that it will run for all cases for a previous jvm version.

10g report won't run in 11g

Hi,
I'm trying to migrate some reports from our 10.1.2.0.2 app server to an 11.1.2.0 one. The report I am currently working with compiles and runs fine in 10g Reports Builder, but when I copy it to the new 11g middleware server and try to run it, it gives me the following error:
REP-1247: Uncompiled program units exist.
REP-1247: The report contains uncompiled PL/SQL.
There is no uncompiled PL/SQL in the report (that I can find), however googling this error it appears there could be something else wrong. I have been unable to get Developer 11g working on my workstation and I can't find a script to compile the report on the 11g middleware server. I am using a .RDF report and not a .REP one. Can someone help me troubleshoot this problem?

Hi,
you can try the following options
1- Run the report passing RECURSIVE_LOAD=no as parameter and see behavior
2- To compile all the reports you can use rwconverter and a windows script.
Example
