Run ARM when turned on

Hi all,
When I upload a VI in to my lm3S8962 board, it run as long as it is connected to the PC. If I disconnect the PC, turn off the board the turn it on without connecting to the PC it doesn't run. Is there a way to let the VI run automatically by turning on the board like with C-RIO?

Hi,
I was trying Vi examples from "find examples". the las example I tried is"game.lvproj" that doesn't not run in debug mode. After that 'm not able to buid any Vi even a simple blinking VI. I recieve this error message:
Build Failed
Build target 'LabVIEW'
linking...
Program Size: Code=18512 RO-data=576 RW-data=1144 ZI-data=37968
".\Obj\LabVIEW.axf" - 0 Error(s), 0 Warning(s).
I restardet labview and the PC and I'm not able to build the VI.
How to resolve this?

Mini fan runs even when turned off

Yesterday the fan started running loudly (seemingly top speed) and it won't stop even when the computer is turned off (only way to kill it is to pull the power cord). The vents on the bottom have a bit of fuzz on them, but nothing outrageous. Other than working on the motherboard (which I'm not capable of doing), what can I try? I did reset PRAM...nothing changed.

Is the power/sleep light on or off when the Mini is "off" but the fan is running?
If the light is "on" in some fashion, can you start the Mini by pressing the Menu button of your Apple Remote once?
If you can't do this, I fear you have a logic board problem similar to the one first diagnosed by brisbanebazza:

Unless you know someone who can do electronics soldering, generally the fix for this would be to replace the logic board, which is usually too expensive to be economical in my opinion.
BTW, no harm in gently vacuuming the fuzz out of the vents, with the Mini closed up, not open.
After you vacuum, you might also try something wacky: try running the mini upside down for a short period of time.

I have a MacBook Pro 2008 with 17 inch screen. Experiencing a lock up when turning on power to boot up. While booting up it goes to gray screen with Apple logo and disc spinning icon running and doesn't go to my desktop. Any solutions to the problem?

I have an early 2009 17 inch MacBook Pro that just went on the fritz. When turning on the power it will go into boot up mode to the gray screen with the apple logo, then the disc icon will be running and will continue running, not allowing to proceed to my desk top screen. It's pretty much locked up at this point where I have to do a forced shut down by holding down the power button. I've tried everything that I know of such as taking battery out and pressing power button for 5 seconds and then reinstalling battery. I've cleaned inside of computer with compressed air duster in can as well as other key commands for resets. I've read that this is a common problem with the earlier MacBook Pros. Is this a problem that I can fix or does it have to be taken in for service? Any solutions to the problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

the battery won’t melt because of long connection to the AC charger, although that has the potential of reducing the battery’s life.
Do you have access to a second 60 W AC charger to test with your MacBook Pro, or access to a second 13-inch MacBook Pro against which your AC charger could be tested?

Satellite P855-10G runs out of battery even when turned off

Access the BIOS and turn OFF the options like: Waking up on LAN and Keyboard.
In Toshiba HW Setup I recommend disabling the USB Sleep and Charge function as well
Both enabled options might allow discharging the battery even if the unit is OFF

Apple logo and menu no longer come up when turning on my 2nd gen nano. However, if I just hit the right buttons the songs play and it runs normally. On occasion the logo and menu come on but it is now in chinese. Should I restore or Junk?

Do what you are being told. Plug the phone into a computer running iTunes and restore the phone.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partitirion & use Disk Utility from there.

Flashing question mark when turning on my macbook

When turning on my macbook (aluminum 13" late 2008 5,1 model) the only thing I achieve is to have a folder within a question mark on it, flashing.
How can I have access to my Mac????

In most cases the problems may be caused by one or more of these:
Problem with the computer's PRAM - See Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM.
Boot drive's directory has been corrupted - Repair with Disk Utility.
Critical system files are damaged or deleted - Reinstall OS X.
The disk drive is physically non-functional - Replace the hard drive.
Note that the information I have provided is what Apple recommends, If other users suggest different solutions than found here, then be sure what they recommend does not impact on your warranty, if any, or ability to get continuing Apple service.
Please don't start removing drives or changing cables unless you know what you are doing and have exhausted other non-invasive alternatives outlined here. If you perform any work yourself that is unapproved by Apple, then you will void any warranty you may have and lose all further Apple Support.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
The main difference if you are using Lion or Mountain Lion is that you must first boot from the Recovery HD. Simply boot from the Recovery HD to perform the above.

2. Reinstall Snow Leopard

After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.
Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing The Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Why apps keep opened even when turning the iPhone 5 off then on?

Hi guys, please tell me if this is the current bahviour of iPhone, when turning the device off, with many apps opened in the background, turning it on again, it keeps opened! It's like hibernating your computer, isn't it?

They don't.
What makes you think the apps are still open after restarting the phone?
If you are looking at the app icons at the bottom of the screen when you double-tap the home button, then those are NOT running apps. That is simply a list of recently used apps. Which apps you have recently used does not change when restarting the phone.
Most apps on the iPhone do not run in the background anyway.

When using bootcamp computer shuts down when turning the screen down.

Im using the latest version mac os x macbook retina 15display. When im running Windows 8 through bootcamp I'm having problems when turning down the display the computer always have to reboot again. I have to start it and choose to boot from Windows 8. But when entering Windows8 again it will remeber its state from when turning the screen down. This also causes a problem that I can not use only a single external display because I always have to have my screen up because when turning down it will shut down and my usb devices as mouse or keyboard will no be able to detect the computer. This is not a problem on my Mac Os X partition.

I am simply lookig for some help not an argument. I am not an RF specialist however have setup a few wireless networks in my tenure at Wynn Resorts. I fully agree that wireless networking is an art and a science however the powers that be in Network Land have toughted wireless networking is the easiest and quickest way to get two computers to talk with one another. As I previously said I have already turned one (1) MBP in for this problem and Apple decided to replace it because they could not fix the problem with my particular MBP. This MBP was running Leopard when the problems started
I am having a hard time believeing that there are several other devicces in my home that depend on a wireless network to operate and my MBP is the only one having an issue. I took this a step further and decided to see what would happen if I tried to connect wirelessly via Fusion. In Windows 7 I am able to print and scan to my hearts content without any issues. I am able to browse the internet as much as I want. I close Fusion and try to connect to my printer via wireless and nothing.
In order to get Apple to help do I need to get a Network Analyzer and capture packets when I have these problems? Out of the 1000 + posts is there a consolidation of which answer is the best? BTW I am accessing the internet via a wireless connection using Fusion and Windows 7.
In response to Linc's comments, I will look at the router specifications however I did not qualify that these devices are not using the wireless connection at the same time. Right now I would guess there are maybe two (2) or three (3) at the most that are actively transmitting / receiving information. -- Thanks

To rule out software probem, do the following:
Run OS Recovery
Disconnect all devices from your computer.
Boot up from your computer by holding down the command+r keys. This will take you to the recovery drive.
Select Disk Utility & hit Return.
In Disk Utility select the HD on the left & click on Repair Disk (bottom right).
When you reach the desktop after doing the above, repair permissions & restart your computer.
To rule out hardware problem:
Run Apple Hardware Test.
