Run Flash Video Conference in HTML
Hi! I am newbie in Flash Communication Server... How do I run
the Video Conference in HTML? I tested it at the website but it is
not connected...
Flash MX is really out of date.
I think it would be advisable to learn AS3 and perhaps have a good reference book available... can't really advise that one is better than another. But Flash AS3 is a very broad topic... if your goal is very focused..Flash Video Conferencing, then you may want to rely more on on-line resources, Forums, and reference material.

other Flash Forums:

but you'll need to work with a streaming media server so be sure to connect with the Red5 Forum I listed earlier as well as

This laptop cannot run Flash video on the BBC website
On this Vista laptop, I try to watch video of the Japan earthquake on the BBC website. But each video just shows a momentary red swirl, and then stays black.
I have the identical problem on FF4.0RC, and there I can also run it in 'Safe Mode', with all addons disabled. With or without addons, it behaves the same as 3.6.15; no video.
However, on the W7 laptop beside the Vista one, everything is fine, and the video runs in all three combinations there.
The Vista laptop will show Flash video from YouTube perfectly OK, so it seems to be something to do with how the BBC site presents video.
However, as the W7 laptop has no problems with the BBC site, it seems to be some configuration issue on the Vista laptop, rather than a general Firefox or BBC problem, or indeed, anything to do with my broadband set-up. (I'm guessing it's more subtle that just Vista vs. W7 here, as there are many other differences between the two laptops).
I have watched video on the BBC site in the past, but that was a few Firefoxes ago. I also note the BBC videos will not run in IE8 on this laptop at the moment, though they are fine on the W7 laptop in IE9 (though I don't think the 9 has anything to do with it)
Has anyone any suggestions as to what might be stopping the Vista laptop from showing the BBC videos?BBC iPlayer relies on Adobe Air. AIR 1.5.3 is the last version of AIR that supports Mac PowerPC and Windows 2000. AIR applications that require AIR 2 or later cannot be installed or used on a Macintosh PowerPC or a computer running the Windows 2000 operating system.

I am in the same boat. I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer, although all other flash videos (YouTube for example) are fine.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have anabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.
You can download TenFourFoxG5 from here:
http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:
http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported
But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine. -
Newbie asks about embeding flash video in simple HTML
Big newbie here. Appreciate any help. Just point me to an appropriate forum.
I was using DivX but, I wanted to try Flash.
I am NOT using any formal publishing software - just simple HTML I'm using <object> and <embed> tags to display a flash video.
Everything seems OK but, I want controls (play, pause, volume, etc) for the player and I want to display an image when the video isn't playing.
This stuff is common on other web sites so I know it's possible. But, I can't seem to do this with parameters. What am I missing?
Thanks!!!

FLASH video conference large scale over 100k simultanous connections
Hello
I am involved in project managment for a large video conferncing project involving over 100k simultanous connection and most likely to be increased 4 times by next six months.While figuring out the scalability area ,it was concluded that smart selection of hardware and origin-edge clustering will be suited most. Well while studying this documentation says it supports thousands of calls but unfortunately I could not determine the actual numbers. Can you tell me how many edge server will be needed for 100k simultanous calls/number of sessions per edge server and will we need license (4500$) for each edge server?
Quick support will be appreciated.There is no limit by theory on number of clients edge can support. It all depends upon your server machine i.e. hardware you are using like RAM, Processor , Network card and also other factors like your network bandwidth might also come into play. Also kind of work you are doing at server like what kind of applications are loaded would also matter.
Yes you have to buy license for each server but I am not sure about exact pricing, You can contact Adobe Sales to get exact details about pricing. -
I'm using "insert flash video" in DW8. I noticed that it puts
the skin and progressive swf files in the same folder as the page.
I'd like to move these files to a different folder. I was hoping I
could just do the "drag and drop" and it would update all the files
to know what has been moved. But that didn't seem to work. Any idea
if you can have the other files in a different folder? Does any one
know what code would need to be changed so it knows the new path?
Thanks for any help you can provide me.Here is what the page looks like...
http://www.margostern.com/extras_sucker.html
You will notice the flash .swf movie plays but it doesn't
include the skin
anywhere in the movie to control it... Why is this? Maybe
someone could
look at the HTML code and figure out what I'm doing wrong for
me?

Win7 32bit Flash videos won't play
I have 2 PCs, both running Win7 Home Premium current with all patches as well as current versions of Chrome, IE9, and Firefox. My 64bit desktop runs Flash videos just fine with all 3 browsers. All was OK until the last day or two. Now my 32bit laptop runs Flash videos in Chrome, but will not run videos in IE9 or Firefox - they load the page where I should see that page that is white with the little puzzle icon in the middle that I can click on to start up the video, but all I get in IE & Firefox is a page that has normal stuff on the sides, but the video part of the screen stays blank black or blank white depending on whether IE or Firefox. I uninstalled both Shockwave and Flash layers, rebooted, and then downloaded/installed these two items from Adobe.com:
1 Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.268
2 Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6.5.635
And then rebooted again.
Still no progress on getting the videos to play. What to do??
Added 8/9/2012
Still wont play videos in IE9 or Firefox. Here's a link to a video that will not play (it plays OK in Chrome). http://www.revolutiongolf.com/home/video/1775566388001

I have a problem, we have installed a VDI solution that uses Wyse V10L clients. The clients make an RDP connection to a virtual desktop and then is presented with a desktop environment.
From this RDP session we have made every attempt to get Flash based videos working, however the quality is very poor. We are experiencing delays in video and audio.We have installed all of the recommended TCX Multimedia packages, published by Wyse, even the Beta Re-distributer product and the quality has not been improved.
Can anyone advise how Adobe intend to combat the problem with running Flash video (youtube) via RDP?Hi Daniel,
Actually, there is a method to improve the display of Flash video in RDP sessions. Ericom Blaze is a software-based RDP acceleration AND compression product that improves video response over WAN and congested LANs. Besides delivering higher frame rates and reducing screen freezes and choppiness, Blaze accelerates RDP performance by up to 10-25 times higher, while significantly reducing network bandwidth consumption over low-bandwidth/high latency connections.
Ericom Blaze works with any standard RDP host, including VDI, Terminal Servers and remote physical machines.
You can read more about Blaze at:
http://www.ericom.com/ericom_blaze.asp?URL_ID=708
Or view a video demo at:

Flash video hesitates with Firefox 9.0.1
Hello,
I'm new to Firefox so just installed it the other day, latest ver 9.0.1. Found that running flash videos embedded in a web page has a jerky, hesitating apperance with the sound working fine but doesn't always match people talking. If I scroll it forward with the slider bar, it hangs for awhile. Flash works fine with IE8. I've tried all the usual fixes I've read about;
Uninstalled Flash with the Flash Removal tool, reinstall Flash for Firefox (several times)
Turned off Hardware Acceleration in Flash
Updated Java according to Firefox's plugin check screen
I have a Windows XP sp3 system with 3g memory
ATI AllInWonder 9600 with latest drivers
Any other ideas? It's funny as Firefox runs faster bringing up web pages but then dies on Flash.
ThanksTurns out that Firefox became a little more fussy about standards than IE. (Imagine that!!) Code created hidden inputs of type="text" , then called a javascript function and passed the values in the hidden inputs as parameters. The original code just passed the name of the input as a variable. The Firefox Webconsole then complained that the variable was not declared. Once I passed the variable.value, then the error went away, Firefox was happy, didn't break IE, so I'm happy.

I have an eMac. 1.25 GHz Power PC G4. OS 10.5.8.
Why can’t I find a Flash Plugin that will run my videos on Facebook etc?You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version, 10.2.152.25, 10.3.x beta, or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.
* Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)
Download this http://www.steelbin.com/FPforFBPPC.zip to your desktop, unzip it, and replace the current Flash Player plug-in which is in your main/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder, (not the user Library). Save the old one just in case this one doesn't work -
I'm using Windows 7 and Chrome and in the last day or so I've had no access at all to flash movies. I have the newest version of Chrome and the flash plugin. I've tried a number of things including enabling/disabling chrome plugins and it hasn't seemed to change anything. All flash video across the internet will not run.
When going here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html, nothing shows up in the box below 1. Not even an error message. Flash videos are not working in IE either, and I've tried reverting back to version 10.3 of the player. Some sites, including Adobe sites, behave as if I don't have flash installed and tell me to download it. Please, someone help!Wise of you to investigate in advance.
Your best bet by far nowadays is to get a laptop with hardware virtualization and either the Professional or Ultimate versions of Windows 7 installed. That way, you can use XP Mode.
Windows XP Mode (Toshiba)
Windows XP Mode (Microsoft)
You can even open an XP program directly from a shortcut in Windows 7.
For current models suitable to run XP Mode, I suggest you call ToshibaDirect at 888-520-3926.

Dear All,
Firefox hangs when i try to play flash videos from any site but when i run firefox as administrator it works fine. (but Google Chrome, Opera & I.E9 Plays videos without running as administrator.) I am using Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Please help.A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Why do Yahoo Flash videos not always run correctly in Chrome and Firefox/Windows 8?
I upgraded early last month to Windows 8 Pro.
Running Yahoo! News and other videos (Yahoo! Screen, etc.; virtually all Yahoo branded products) I get a black screen, no error message on Chrome and Firefox. The videos run correctly on Internet Explorer.
I have not found a way to run these videos at all in Firefox or the 64-bit Waterfox.
In Chrome, I can DISABLE the internal Pepper-based Flash player and the videos will run (but nothing ELSE will: no YouTube, etc.)
I can keep a plug-ins page open in Chrome and repeatedly enable and disable the internal Flash player; I can copy and paste the URL for what I'm watching back into IE...or perhaps some kind and knowing person here will have a better idea. For me, I sense a bug somewhere. BTW...this machine dual-boots Win8 and WIn7. The problem does not exist in Win7. Please don't suggest going back to Win7; that's a VERY mature (translate SLOW and quirky; survived repeated change of motherboard and other major components) install that I'm continually weaning myself away from and rarely boot into it anymore (Win8 boots from SSD and is blazingly fast, Win7 not so much).
I have not found any site other than the ENTIRE Yahoo site that has this problem!
Jay from the BronxI'm back! Actually, this issue has been happening to me every now & then but I'd just given up on dealing with it. But now I'm motivated again.
I clicked on a video link in Facebook that sent me to NASCAR | Facebook which turns from the https URL to those two words on this site for some odd reason, and it just popped a box telling me saying Flash Player Upgrade Required - Get Flash Player and the video's image never displayed under that and it couldn't be played.
Then once again I went thru all of the steps to insure that both I do actually have Flash Player and that it is Enabled. I do and it is. I also read somewhere to click the gear icon in IE then click Safety > ActiveX Filtering. I do that and I see a checkmark next to ActiveX Filtering. I've tried it both with a checkmark and without one and there's no difference.
I have Windows 8.1 fully updated, IE-11 and Flash Player
I see the swinging tire swing image in #5. Verify if Flash Player is installed at Flash Player Help. -
HTML Email that contains Flash Video
Does anyone know of a way to send video (or Flash Video)
embedded within an html email so that it does not trigger the
Active X security warning?
Sending the file as an attachment is not an option. The main
objective is to have the video ( of Flash Video) start playing when
the email is opened.
Any inside on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am running OS X Mountain Lion/Quick Time. Is there any way for me to view a Flash Video?
http://perian.org has a free plug-in to expand QuickTime supported formats to include flash video (.flv).
You can also install the free Flash Player from Adobe.com. -
How to embed Flash video and control skin using HTML?
I am trying to use HTML to embed a flash video, however I encounter the following errors:
Error #2044: Unhandled skinError:. text=[IOErrorEvent type="ioError" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="
Error #2035: URL Not Found. URL: SkinOverPlaySeekStop.swf"]
Here is my HTML code:
<OBJECT classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
width="640" height="480" >
<param name="movie" value="Content/example.swf">
<param name="quality" value="high">
<param name="play" value="true">
<param name="loop" value="false">
<embed src="Content/example.swf" width="640" height="480" play="false" loop="false" quality="high"></embed>
</OBJECT>
Whenever I open the page I'll get a popup window with the above errors and once I click "continue" it will go ahead and play the video, but without the control skin. Can anyone tell me how to get the skin to show up?I found a solution at this thread. Basically, you just have to move your skin file (ie. SkinOverPlayStopSeekMuteVol.swf) to the same directory as your index.html file.
doghouseJim, thanks for the link. Although I didn't have to use swfobject in this case it is still good to know. Also, I didn't know that Flash can generate the HTML. This is a quick and easy way to see the video in a web browser and if you're using Firefox you can go to View > Page Source to see the code. If you just want to see the HTML, then all you have to do is go to File > Publish Preview > HTML and it will open a web browser where you can view the page source.

Hello, I am missing a very important feature in Logic Pro X which is the ability to drill down in the Piano Roll. In Logic 9 (and below) I was able to select multiple midi tracks and edit them in the piano roll (this is still possible in Logic Pro X)
