Run form 10g

I use forms 10g R2. When I run a form, it does not show the full size in the browser. Whats the problem? is their any tips?

I used http://localhost:8889/forms/frmservlet?form=myform.fmx&separateframe=true , where I used my form name instead of myform. However, it shows error age 'FRM-40010: can not read form..'.
When I open form builder and run from there, it does not show any form name in the URL. It just shows as follows:
http://localhost:8889/forms/frmservlet
MOreover, it does not show in full screen.
But when I add my form name, it shows the error.

Is there possibility to run Forms 10g on Windows mode, not on Web ?
    Thanks.

If you want to test your forms locally there is an OC4J component with the Developer Suite which can be started so you can run your Forms on your local station. This is no client/server but you run your webforms local.

  • Error running forms 10g on OC4J

    Hi everyone,
I installed Oracle DB 10g and Developer Suite 10g (did not install Ap. Server) at the same machine (different homes), everything seemed to be OK, I use sqlplus with no problems, then I did this:
    1) Created a table with just one field
    2) Created a test form with Forms 10g using wizard with just that table and that field (I connect to oracle with no problems on forms builder)
    3) Started OC4J Instance (but i have to leave the command prompt opened to run well)
    4) When I run the form, it opens Internet explorer then shows Oracle application server forms service, but with this message ORA-12560 TNS: Protocol Adapter error, I click OK and ask me for a user and password, but the same error!!
IS there any configuration that I have to do on OC4J?? Why I can connect to oracle from sqlplus, enterprise manager and so, but it fails running forms, specifically when open OC4J???
    Thanks in advance

    Is it .../forms/registry.dat or .../forms/registry/Registry.dat?
Let's go back to this post. I asked you to try a URL to your form in a browser window, not Forms Builder. The 2nd part of your answer, you said...
But if the OC4J instance is NOT running I have
    message says FRM-92120: Registry file
    http://walaa:8889/forms/java/oracle/forms/registry.dat
is missing."If your OC4J is not running and you try a URL from a browser, you should be getting a "Cannot find server or DNS Error", not an Oracle error. The only way I could reproduce your error above was to run from Forms Builder with OC4J started and having manually renamed my Registry.dat.
If you didn't edit your Registry.dat (and possible hose it), then someting just went wrong during the install. You could check you installation log. Mine is at C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\installActions2006-03-11_03-50-02PM.log and has a single line containing "Registry.dat" showing the target location.
Is this Forms10g R2 on Windows? You could uninstall ODS and reinstall in probably 30 mins to an hour. Maybe you want to consider that.

Did you save the form before running it, in the context of the builder? there is a known bug in this area.

  • Running forms 10g on PC with Forms 6i

I am currently running Oracle Developer Suite 6i (6.0.8.23.2) 32 bit etc. on Windows XP on my PC.
I now want to load Forms 10g etc. on the same PC. Is this possible? Are there going to be any conflicts with two dirfferent versions on one PC?
    Edited by: 781424 on 03-Oct-2011 01:45

    Hello,
    It is possible. (I have the version 6i, 9.0.2 , 9.0.4 , 10gR2 and 11gR1 on the same PC)
The only point to take care of is the variable PATH.
You can create some BAT files that will set correctly the PATH for each version

  • Running forms 10g from a discoverer ias installation. Is it possible?

Hi, I want to run an application based on forms 10g using an iAS 10.1.2 that is actually been used to run Discoverer. In the iAS directory structure I can't find the "forms" folder or any of the configuration files (formsweb.cfg, default.env, Registry.dat, etc). Anyway, I could find OC4J_BI_Forms, and when I run "opmnctl status" that service is up and running (Alive).
In order to install and run my forms application:
    - Do I have to install the "forms server" component to this iAS?, or may I use the current OC4J_BI_Forms to run other forms (and libraries)?
    - Or maybe, do I have to install the forms enabled iAS in a different ORACLE_HOME to be able to run my forms?
I guess the version and releases numbers are not completely relevant. All I know about versions is the installed iAS whose release is 10.1.2.
    Thanks in advance
    RuBeck

You can easily do this using pack & unpack.
Change the machines in the managed servers where SOA is running. Pack the domain with -managed option. Unpack the domain in the new machine. Start the soa server now. It will start using the resources in the new machine.
    Eg:
Currently Machine A has Admin Server, One WLS Managed Server & One SOA Server. You want to shift SOA server to machine B. Change the machine of SOA server using Admin Console. Pack the domain in Machine A. It will create a template jar. Copy the jar file to Machine B. Unpack it there.
Make sure, you have same MW_HOME & ORACLE_HOME directory structure in both Machine A & B.
My answers are based on that you are on 11gR1.

  • Run form 10g from another computer

    Hi all!
I created form on my computer and run success. Now,I want to run my form on another computer
How I can run form another computer?
    Thanks all!

In general you have an url to call a form from any computer. This looks like
http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?<parameters>The parameters specify which acions should be taken, as you define the form to start, the user, ...
To "hide" these parameters, you can specify a "named section" (identified by a line like [thenameofthesection]) in the formsweb.cfg where all the parameters are defined, and give only the name of the configuration you want to start, like
    http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=thenameofthesection

  • How to run form 10g fmx file..

    Hi Everyone,
This is my first post in forums
    I have a problem
In the run time xyz.fmb file create a xyz.fmx file
after that i cannot run this xyz.fmx file without using Developer
Can anybody give me this solution how can i solve it
    Please please...
    Give it step by step...

    hi
please modify formsweb.cfg and create u r own config.something like this.
    Example Named Configuration Section
    # Example 1: configuration to run forms in a separate browser window with
    # "generic" look and feel (include "config=sepwin" in the URL)
    # You may define your own specific, named configurations (sets of parameters)
    # by adding special sections as illustrated in the following examples.
    # Note that you need only specify the parameters you want to change.  The
    # default values (defined above) will be used for all other parameters.
    # Use of a specific configuration can be requested by including the text
    # "config=<your_config_name>" in the query string of the URL used to run
    # a form.  For example, to use the sepwin configuration, your could issue
    # a URL like "http://myhost.mydomain.com/servlet/f90servlet?config=sepwin".
    [CONFIG]
    form=login.fmx
    separateFrame=True
    lookandfeel=oraclesarah

  • Running Forms 10g Locally

    Hi,
can some body show me please how can i configurate Froms 10g tu run locally, on my machine instead of run it in the central Forms server .
that will help to save time on my unit tests.
    thanks.

i copied this from a posting here, search and you may find.... but this is what you need to do to get forms running locally on your pc.
    Steps
    1. The Builder's Runtime setting must be configured correctly. Open the Builder and from the menu select:
    Edit > Preferences > Runtime
    2. Click on the button labeled "Reset to Default".
    3. In the box labeled "Web Browser Location", verify that the complete path to the preferred browser is entered. For example if you will be using MS Internet Explorer the entry will likely appear something like this:
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
    4. Click on OK
    5. An HTTP Listener needs to be running. Oracle provide stand-alone OC4J to fill this requirement. Be sure that OC4J is running. A shortcut is available under the developer start menu. This will open a DOS window. This window MUST remain open.
    6. If you have followed the above steps, you should now be able to click on the green traffic light in the Builder and run a form. If you have not already installed jinitiator, you will be prompted to install.
Make sure your tnsnames.ora file is up to date with the company standard file

  • Run Form 10g through Form 9i

    Hi
I want to run a form which is created by form developer 10g through form 9i, but there is a error that means not matching a version!
    Any solution?
    Thanks

I want to run a form which is created by form developer 10g through form 9i, You mean, form builder 10gR2 and deployed from OAS 9?
If that is true, the answer is:
Builder and deployed nust be same version, and I add, (may be ??) also patching must be same release( e.g Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) must be = OAS 10.1.2.0.2 Forms services)

  • Problem in running forms 10g of 5 different departments

    Hi All,
My company has 5 departments, and each department has its own database.
Each department has some forms in them and has a top level form which calls another from from it, and some forms even calls reports when a button is pressed.
The thing is, all the department's forms have same naming convention.
    Ex:
top level from in department1 is form1.fmb,
top level from in department2 is form1.fmb,
top level from in department3 is form1.fmb,
top level from in department4 is form1.fmb,
top level from in department5 is form1.fmb.
Not just top level form, but also few more forms have same names in the other departments.
And, a from in department1 doesnt not call any form or report from the other department.
The logic in those forms is different. Just the naming convention is same.
My company has only 1 application server installed. And I want to deploy all the departments forms which has different databases.
So, I configured the formsweb.cfg as
    # System parameter: file setting environment variables for the Forms runtime processes
    [department1]
    envFile=department1.env
    # System parameter: file setting environment variables for the Forms runtime processes
    [department2]
    envFile=department2.env
and in department1.env file I will point FORMS_PATH to the folder that contains fmb, fmx files of department1.
So, after deploying on the Application Server, end user/client can call the form like
    http://server_name.com:7777/forms/frmservlet?config=department1&form=form1.fmx
Now, the problem is that department1 is not working. I tried to shuffle the order of departments in the formsweb.cfg file and found that, it always picking only the last department listed in the formsweb.cfg file. If I have 2 departments listed in the formsweb.cfg file like above, it picks only department2 form only when I call the department2 url at the client end. When I call department1's form, it is not picking anything and showing me a blank page.
    Help me..

I just tested this in 10.1.2.3 and it works correctly. I did the following:
    [a]
    envFile=a.env
    envFile=b.env
    [c]
envFile=c.envIn each case above, the env files contain unique FORMS_PATH entries and in those path are unique forms (fmx).
So, you like have one or more of the following going on:
    1.  A case sensitivity issue
    2.  You have a config section title without a closing bracket.  In other words rather than doing this:  [dept1], you accidentally did this somewhere:  [dept1
    3.  You have made the changes manually, but did not stop the EM process before doing so.  In this case, you should stop all EM and middle tier processes and restart.  If using v11, stop and restart WLS_FORMS
    4.  You are running an unpatched version of either 10.1.2 or 11.1.1 and there was a defect which has since been corrected.  Be sure you are running the latest patched release.

    Help me in this

    Edited by: maddyd2k on Mar 31, 2011 3:46 AMHi
first, yes this utility is very useful but it is not mine ;) all credits goes to Peter de Vaal the author !
for your requirements, take a look at Peter's documentation on how to set up the utility for developer suite (the webserver is the oc4j standalone)
you must define a virtual path to your FormStart folder and html files :
Step 2. Define a virtual path
The FormsStart directory must be made accesible through the http protocol. The way to do this is to define a virtual path for your web server.
For Oracle Developer Suite the webserver is the stand-alone oc4j. You define a virtual path in file orion-web.xml. This file can be found in:
    <DS_home>\j2ee\DevSuite\application-deployments\default\defaultWebApp
Add the following line before the </orion-web-app> tag:
         <virtual-directory
                virtual-path="/forms/fs"
                real-path="C:\oracle/FormsStart/html" />
For Oracle Application Server the webserver is Apache. You can specify virtual paths in httpd.conf or in one of its include files (oracle_apache.conf, forms.conf). We suggest to specify it in forms.conf (in <AS_home>\forms\server, For 9i and 9.0.4 it is: forms90\server\forms90.conf).
Use Enterprise Manager Website to edit this file (Click on HTTP Server, then on Advanced server Properties, then on forms.conf or forms90.conf).
Add the following line, below the list of other AliasMatch tags:
    Windows:
    # Virtual path for FormsStart Utility
    AliasMatch ^/forms/fs/(..*) "C:\oracle\FormsStart/html/$1"
    Unix:
    # Virtual path for FormsStart Utility
    AliasMatch ^/forms/fs/(..*) "/app/oracle/FormsStart/html/$1"JeanYves
