Run form 9i and above as same as 6i

i'm new to oracle and i would like to run form in 9i as same as 6i (not applet).

We made the decision about seven or eight years ago that Forms 6i would be the last client server deployment model. As a developer you can still develop and run on a single machine and your Forms will appear in a browser. For deployment you would deploy to the Application Server.

Help!!!How to run Form Builder and Forms Runtime together?

Dear Friends,
I am new to Oracle Developement and need your help.
Everytime I click the RUN icon to run a form from the Form Builder, the Forms Runtime starts, however, closes my Form Builder the same time. After I closed the Forms Runtime, the Form Builder shows up as before.
In another word, I cannot have both Forms Runtime and Forms Builder at the same time. How can I run the form without closing the Form Builder so that it's eaiser to modify the form and time saving?

Thanks. But I cannot make by using alt+tab. I know it is strange.
I could do that before but I don't know what's wrong with it now because start of the Runtime automatically hide the Form Builder until I close the runtime. Does anyone have any idea or same experience of this? Any suggestion?

It is possible to deploy 6i forms & reports by Apache Web
Listener. You will have to edit the httpd.conf configuration
file and add your virtual path as Alias. The Virtual Paths are
/dev60html/
/dev60cgi/
/jinitiator/
/dev60temp/

Can I run AE CS4 and CS3 on same system? +Ram Q's

I haven't been able to teach my motion graphics course in a year so I am behind on AE doings and the state budget cuts cancelled the purchase of my new laptop SO I only have CS3. I am scrambling to make this course work!!
Q: Can I run AE CS3 and CS4 on the same system? (we have CS4 on some lab machines but some students have only CS3 at home)
Q: Blimpo AE CS4 says it needs "2Gb RAM" vs CS3's "1Gb RAM for DV" (our application) - will CS4 even install and start w/o 2Gb? If so, can one at least do simple, straightforward work with 1Gb or is it hopeless?

"Simple, straightforward work" is very much a matter of definition. As long as we talking basic title, menu and background design at SD resolutions (PAL/ NTSC) or below (web) without resorting to oversized source files, it might work to a degree. I doubt, however, you will ever be abel to do anything remotely HD. Memory errors and warnings will be a constant companion....

Running DMVPN Hub and Spoke on same router?

My client has a project in which traffic flow is hierarchial in nature. Using DMVPNs, the design is for a "center" router to be a DMVPN spoke to the cloud above it, and a DMVPN Hub to the cloud below it. I have tried to lab this up, but no success. I initially build the center router as a DMVPN spoke to teh upper cloud and all is well. As soon as I had the second tunnel config (as the DMVPN hub to the lower cloud), the first tunnel goes down and my EIGRP flaps. Im running EIGRP across the DMVPN tunnels. The two DMVPN clouds are using different network IDs and are running separate EIGRP routing instances.
I can post configs if desired - just wanted to see if anyone is doing this or knows whether it is possible.

I know it is possible using two DMVPN clouds, but it seems that you need DMVPN phase 3 in this situation. This is suitable for the hierarchical model you want. Take a look at the following link

ADF Form Submision and Commit on Same button

HI All,
I have created a jsff which contains 2 forms. My requirement is to create a button which first submits the form and then do the commit too on same button click.
I am able to do it in 2 steps, as i have Submit button and commit operation available.
But my query is that Submit is not displayed as any operation, Then how can i write any method in my bean for making sure that i do both the tasks on same button.

Forms 6i and 10G on same PC?

Hi,
Does anyone know if there are any issues with installing forms/reports 10G on a PC that has forms/reports 6i? For a period of time I would need to be developing with both versions. Assuming I install them into different Oracle homes I haven't found any documentation saying it can't be done?

Running Oracle 9i and 10g on same box

Hi Guys! :-)
I have a development box (Win2003) that I run one Oracle 9i home on, and I wish to install a 10g home aswell. I need to install the new Oracle 10g listener on a different port. Can someone please give me some directions / how to guide how to do that ? I'm using OUI to install.
I have tried searching this forum and Metalink, but didnt find any stuff that could help me..
I'm pretty new to Oralce, this may be a easy config matter.

Unless there is a compelling reason, I would encourage you to use one listener for ALL databases on the machine. The rule is that it needs to be the highest version
You have several options:
1) do a completely separate listener-only install into it's own home. Stop (and set to 'manual service') the 9i listener and start the 10g listener on port 1521. Re-register the 9i database using the 'alter system register' command.
2) install the listener as part of the 10g install. Stop the 9i listener and start the 10g listener on port 1521. Re-register the 9i database using the 'alter system register' command.
3) install the listener as part of the 10g install and modify the port on both the listener (see listener.ora) and the database's LOCAL_LISTENER parameter.
I prefer 1) simply because that allows you to upgrade/patch the listener totally independently from any DB version, while still leaving version -specific listeners around that can be used in an emergency.

I have a Mac Pro and a extra internal hard drive that I would like to put lion on the extra one and run snow leopard on my original one and be able to boot from either one. How does one go about doing this or is it possible?

OPTION key will continue to work. Can alspo be used to select an external clone (CarbonCopyClone, $40 download) backup to boot in case of HD failure. AND OPION key can be used to select the "Recovery Partition" of Lion in case you need it (Command-R also accesses the RecoveryPartition).

New laptop Win7; when I try to start Firefox, I get error mess, "Firefox already running", I uninstalled and reinstalled with same results.

This started after I did a windows easy transfer of some Quickbook files from my old computer to my laptop. I have uninstalled firefox and downloaded the latest version from the website and still get this message. I cannot see where it can be running. Thnx, Bill.

This sounds like it's not the Firefox installation itself that is messed up, but your profile folder (where your personal settings like bookmarks, passwords, etc are stored). You say you used easy transfer, and that might have gone wrong somehow.

Can't run both PBG4 and Macbook on same TC network

I am trying to connect both a pbg4 and macbook core duo to my network using newly purchased time capsule. I first used Airport Utility from macbook hard wired via ethernet and set up the network. I have an AsDsl network with an old Westell Modem that always works in bridge mode and connects to my ISP via PPPoE. I used to use an US Robotics 8054 wireless router into whose WAN port I would plug in the modem.
I set up the TC as the main router, enabling my password at my ISP. Everything worked like a charm with the Macbook. When I tried to connect the PBG4, no luck. No matter what I did the PBG4 couldn't get the TC.
So I attached the US robotics to the one of the TC LAN ports. Using my old network, the pbg4 can access the TC and the internet. The macbook cannot access the TC at all.
I think this might be a DHCP problem. I think my set up doesn't allow more than one computer to be on the web. Also, something about the US robotics network makes the TC network invalid.
Any thoughts?

if you have two hard drives the easiest might be to install panther on the second hard drive. this way you don't have top partition anything. make sure the drive is properly formatted it should be formatted mac os extended journaled with APM partition scheme. then just boot from the Panther install disk and install panther on the second drive. note that this will only work if your mac originally came with panther. did it?
to switch between installs you can change the startup disk in system preferences->startup disk. then reboot. alternatively, reboot normally and hold option at the chime. this will boot you into startup disk manager where you can choose which drive to boot from.

Any known issues running Forms 10gR2 and 11g DB?

Running Forms

Hello all:
I am running forms 9i and am now able to get it to run in the browser. Is there a way to make the form fill the entire browser for better viewing? Any help for a newbie is greatly appreciated.

Figures! I work for two days to find an answer, I then ask for help here, and within five minutes find the answer. Well, an answer.
I noticed the start and stop OC4J instance in the Forms Developer program group. So I started it, reset the preference setting in Forms and ran the form. Everything seemed to be going well. The browser (IE) downloaded JInitiator, installed it and attempted to load the form. However, now it says it cannot resolve the TNS name.
Huh? All the other applications, SQL Plus, Enterprise Manager Console, the RAU, everything is able to resolve the connect string. Did I install this JInitiator in the wrong directory (I accepted the default)? How do I fix this?
