    why? I don't know if this is the same issue, but we receive the same error if trying to "run" a form on a client machine that has an unpatched version of the Forms Runtime, but the Form was created with a Patched version and uses certain functionality such as a Treeview. The solution for us was to Patch the client version, and everything worked fine.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help!!!How to run Form Builder and Forms Runtime together?

    Dear Friends,
    I am new to Oracle Developement and need your help.
    Everytime I click the RUN icon to run a form from the Form Builder, the Forms Runtime starts, however, closes my Form Builder the same time. After I closed the Forms Runtime, the Form Builder shows up as before.
    In another word, I cannot have both Forms Runtime and Forms Builder at the same time. How can I run the form without closing the Form Builder so that it's eaiser to modify the form and time saving?
    Thank you very much.

    Thanks. But I cannot make by using alt+tab. I know it is strange.
    I could do that before but I don't know what's wrong with it now because start of the Runtime automatically hide the Form Builder until I close the runtime. Does anyone have any idea or same experience of this? Any suggestion?

    Hi guys and thanks for the replies,
    I found this on the help file which speaks about the access preferences and that's exactly the way I have it on my shortcut and works find when I use the userid option, but if I delete the userid, the menu asks me for the user credentials which is how I want to have it so each user has to type username and password : ifbld60 module=myform userid=scott/tiger module_access=database
    This is why I created the role to give each user special permitions.

    Same issue here... Been trying to get this working since a week now. I tried all the solutions like memory heap and all but no luck.
    One thing that I would like to know is that, in some threads the resolution was to recompile the INS_FORMS.MK file under /forms/lib32 but with my installation I don't have that "lib32" folder under /forms/ and I can not even find that file anywhere in my entire installation.
    I am using 12.1.1 on Windows Server 2008.
    Any help or guidelines is greatly appreciated.

  • Browser craches when trying to run Forms

    Hi!
    Got a problem here.
    I have installed DEvSuite (DB already installed for a while).
    I was trying to run forms builder. AT first I needed to install jinit-something which I did.
    After that forms builder would open in the browser but would not connect (some TCP error).
    Now browser started to crash. I click 'Run Form', brwoser opens and immediately crashes.
    It's true for both IE and Mozilla.
    I did re-install DevSuite and checkd whole system for viruses - nothing.
    The problem remains. I run it on a single stand-alone PC with XP pro.
    Any ideaswhat the problem is and how to fix it?
    Thank you.

    You could try using the java plugin (jpi = sun's java runtime) in stead of the jinitiator. It is in sometimes reported that a toolbar inside the internet explorer could crash the internet explorer.
    If you try to run inside the internet explorer of firefox and the coffee cup(jinitiator) in the system tray still exists then check in the console if there exists some error like jar's which are missing.

  • Form Builder crashes whenever I try to run form locally

    Hello,
    I am using Oracle Developer Suite 10g (Forms 9.0.4.0.19) on Windows XP SP3, IE8.
    Whenever I try to execute (run) form from Forms Builder locally Forms Builder just crashes (get error: Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close ).
    Any help please
    Best regards.

    First, the Builder crashing has nothing to do with what browser you are using. The Builder crashing is a Builder issue. It is possible that the Builder is crashing due to a corrupted installation or permissions issue at the OS level. It could also be a bug. So, as I mentioned already, it may be time to upgrade to a more 21st century version of the product or at least consider applying a current patch to what you have. Patches are only available to customers with access to MyOracleSupport.

  • Running oracle form builder 10g in windows 7 64 bit

    i am working in windows 7 64 bit
    oracle db 11g enterprise edition 11.2.0.10 64 bit
    form builder 10.12.0.2  32 bit
    my default browser is Google Chrome
    i have java 6 standard edition  1.6.0_34
    when i am trying to run any form this message appear " java (TM) is required to display some elements in this page"
    what can i do to run those forms?

    You can also refer to this OTN reference:
    Oracle Application Server 10g (10.1.2) Certification Matrix
    Other comments:
    1.  I would not recommend using Forms 10.1.2.0 with Oracle DB 11.2.x.  Patching Oracle Forms to 10.1.2.3 would be recommended.  Using version Forms 11 would be better.
    2.  Attempting to use the Developer Tools on Windows 7 is not a great idea although it can be made to work.  Developer Suite 10 is no longer supported and was never really intended for use on Win7.  Again, patching to 10.1.2.3 is recommended and required if you plan to follow the Oracle instructions and certifications.
    3.  Installing the Forms Builder (Developer Suite) on Win7-64bit is not at all certified and was never supported.
    4.  Using Java 7 was not certified and therefore not supported for use with Forms 10.x
    In general, Forms 10.1.2.x has been desupported.  Customer using this version or older should be working on a migration plan for getting to the latest supported version which is 11.1.2.1.

  • Can't run form from Form Builder 10g - Port configuration problem?

    Hi,
    I have installed the Database (10.2.0.1.0) and the Developer Suite (10.1.2.0.2) on two Linux machines (Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES 4 Basic).
    If I enter the frmservlet-URL manually everything seems to be fine.
    In one case I enter http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet, in the other http://127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet; in BOTH cases I get eventually a dark square and the status bar says "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started".
    HOWEVER, if I create a simple form with Form Builder and click on the Button with the green traffic light ("Run Form"), the form runs only on the machine where frmservlet listens on port 8890.
    On the other machine (frmservlet configured to listen on port 8889) Firefox pops up, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:32979/6dOrpwghCqnp8PhMT7KVT533m3IaArqFbPqPBOztZXWYSsNy" gets called, and nothing else happens. The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and it stays like this forever.
    I assume this is a port configuration problem, but I don't have a clue where to start.
    Any suggestions how I should proceed are greatly appreciated.
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Frank,
    Thank you for your reply.
    I doublechecked my configuration.
    In the dialog Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime the Application Server URL is set to "127.0.0.1:8889/forms/frmservlet".
    However, when I attempt to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33140/W2dwbV9eXS2fPkuKlxNhCxFWdEihwDviat2uV7ycrSotqwDN" gets called.
    The screen displays the string "ORACLE FORMS." and the status bar says "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...", and that's it.
    I wonder how the port number 33140 got selected. Interestingly, this time it is a different number; last time it was port 32979. In fact, the port number seems to change each time; I tried again and now it is 33189.
    I will now try to set the port number for the frmservlet to 8890.
    I choose Edit --> Preferences --> Runtime and set the application server URL to "127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet".
    I stop the container, open /home/oracle/OraHome_1/j2ee/DevSuite/config/default-web-site.xml and change the port number to 8890:
    <?xml version="1.0" standalone='yes'?>
    <!DOCTYPE web-site PUBLIC "Oracle Application Server 10g XML Web-site" "http://xmlns.oracle.com/ias/dtds/web-site.dtd">
    <!-- change the host name below to your own host name. Localhost will -->
    <!-- not work with clustering -->
    <!-- also add cluster-island attribute as below
    <web-site host="localhost" port="0" protocol="ajp13"
    display-name="Default Oracle Application Server 10g Java WebSite" cluster-island="1" >
    -->
    <web-site port="8890" protocol="http"
    display-name="Oracle Developer Suite 10g instance of Oracle Containers for J2EE Web Site">
    <!-- Uncomment the following line when using clustering -->

         <!-- The default web-app for this site, bound to the root -->
         <default-web-app application="default" name="defaultWebApp" root="/j2ee" />
    <!-- Do not delete this line. -->
    <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" />
    <!-- -->
    <!-- <web-app application="forms" name="formsweb" root="/forms" /> -->
    <web-app application ="reports" name="web" root="/reports" />
    <web-app application = "reports" name="demo" root="/repdemo" />
         <!-- Access Log, where requests are logged to -->
         <access-log path="../log/default-web-access.log" />
    </web-site>
    I restart the container, start Form Builder, connect to the database, and open my test form.
    When attempting to run the form, the URL "http://127.0.0.1:33437/Pl0n3ky9vmU5z37A7ScBnQhsGwq3jwuzJpgTAKWPMOYIzT8K" gets called (again a new port number, apparently picked radomly within a certain range) and nothing happens: "Waiting for 127.0.0.1...".
    However, when I enter the URL http://127.0.0.1:8890/forms/frmservlet I do (eventually, after confirming that I trust the certificate etc.) get a darc rectangle and the status message "Applet oracle.forms.engine.Main started", which tells me that my setup can't be that far off target.

    i tried same thing but still i unable to run the fmx on browser in my url tab i wrote like this
    http://indra-123:8889/forms/frmservlet?form=MODULE1.fmx
    But still its coming error on browser like "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."The url is well, the problem with the browser might be with the jInitiator's version, you may try by changing the jInitiator's version, or by changing the Internet Explorer's version to 7.
    Try this in your url:
    http://indra-123:8889/forms/frmservlet?config=jpi&form=MODULE1.fmxWith this new parameter you are using java instead of jInitiator.
    Have you tried using other browser like firefox ??

  • Problems running Forms in Forms Builder 6.0.8.21.3

    I have upgraded some Forms from 4.5 to 6i. I compile and run the forms in Forms Builder 6.0.8.21.3. However I have a problem when running a specific form. When I run the form directly from Forms Builder the problem do not appear.
    But when I call the same form in Oracle Forms Runtime by calling the forms from the menu, the row with push buttons that I have defined do not appear.
    I have faced a similar problem earlier and then I solve the problem changing the order of the Data Blocks in the Object Navigator. I have tried this, but so far it does not work. Do the order of the Data Blocks affect how the Forms will be displayed? What about the order of the Canvases? I hope someone can help me with this challenge.
    I run win 2000 and do not get any runtime error messages.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Roar

    Roar,
    the order of blocks does only influence the navigation but not the visibility. However, if the button bar is on a canvas that doesn't show if the focus isn't in it then having teh button block on top makes sure the focus is set there. Are the push bottons on a separate canvas or are they on the same canvas as your data ? If not, then how do you ensure that the stacked canvas gets displayed ? Anyway, running the Form from teh builder uses teh same client/server runtime that is used when running your application stand alone. So it must be something within teh navigation (I am guessing).

  • Run Form in Form Builder 9.0.4.0.0

    Hi All:
    I have installed developer suite with form builder 9.0.4.0.0. Installation was successful but when i run a form from form builder it opens a browser window having address of html file resides in my c:\documentsandsetting \username\localsetting\temp\xxx.htm. Actually this htm file is created dynamically in specified location with different names on different requests and then open actual form having address http://host:port/forms90/f90servlet. (i didn't see this behaviour in 9iDS).
    Actually my problem is that my browser didn't get first address (c:\documentsandsetting\username\localsetting\temp\xxx.htm) correctly when i press "RUN FORM" button in form builder it contains http://%%20c:\documentsandsetting\username\localsetting\temp\xxx.htm and because of this address my actual form is not shown. If i ommit http://%%20 manually from address bar and press enter then my form runs perfectly.
    Please tell me is there any solution exist for this problem.

    Thanks Ronald for ur reply but unfortunately this method didn't work. I have changed my browser setting as follows
    -ActiveX controls and plug-ins
    * Download signed ActiveX controls
    Enable
    * Download unsigned ActiveX controls
    Enable
    * Initialize & script ActiveX controls not marked as safe
    Enable
    * Run ActiveX controls & plug-ins
    ENable
    * Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting
    Enable
    and even after i have restart my form builder and oc4j instance i have faced the same problem.
    Plz. let me know is there any other solution exist.
    Regards

  • Run report thru form builder

    hi
    I have a table
    EMP(empname varchar2(30),
    empno varchar2(20),
    add1 varchar2(60),
    add2 varchar2(60),
    sal number(10,2),
    comm number(10,2)
    i want create a report and
    parameter form and run it thru form builder
    can it possible i select column name in parameter as a list and report
    show data only these column
    if any solution plz help me
    with thanx

    I think you can achieve this as follows:
    set up a new parameter, say P_FIELD, with initial value of empname
    in your data model have an sql something like
    Select
    P_FIELD as field1 from EMP
    pass the column name to P_FIELD and the report will return that column

  • Run form via form builder

    I'm having trouble running my forms via the forms builder. Everytime i click "run", a new browser window opens with url like http://127.0.0.1:1917/FYCu0odZTxl42wlbLoQ06rso8zKuYWEVV1TpUq4OddxheEMT
    The port and uri is new everytime.
    I have tried with and without the "App server URL" setting in the preference. I'm able to go directly to the form servlet. I aslo have installed JInitiator
    I have tried with both IE and Firefox and both behave the same way.
    My OC4J is up and running.
    Am i missing some setup ? I'm out of ideas...please help.

    Hi,
    the OC4j knows this from your default.env file
    In this file you can set your forms_path. If your directory is mentioned here than OC4J will pick up your form.
    Are you sure it's running on 8819 and not 8889?
    What version of windows do you have and of IE and firefox?
    So you can access this
    http://yourserver:8819/forms/frmservlet
    This should give you a forms installed succesfully form at runtime
    If it works put this in your edit preferences runtime url in your forms builder
    you can also put named configs in your formsweb.cfg and use different env files to have multiple applications starting
    if you do so there is an example from webutil
    your URL looks like http://yourserver:8819/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
