Run MSOnline Module without installing Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant
Hi guys,
I would to check if it is possible to run Azure Active Directory Powershell (MSOnline) without installation of
Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant
Azure Active Directory Module for Windows PowerShell (64-bit version)
I'm coming from the point of application deployment where the objective is to reduce additional installation to the server and to package the DLL, PSD1 (if required) of the Azure AD Module and run it like a portable app.
Did anyone manage to do that?
i found the modules installed in one of my testing machine C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\MSOnline and i tried to run the module in a new server without any installation of those mentioned above, it gives Type Initialization error. I
believe it is caused by lacking of Microsoft Online Service Sign-In Assistant.
Where are the dlls stored for MS Online Sign-In Assistant so that i can try to copy to the new server and test?
Thanks in advance!
Cheng

That link is no good. It is older than the links shown here:

When you google (or bing) for this product, it takes you to the RTW link or version 2.1.. To use AD services with O365 Powershell you get error you need version 7 or greater. (Yet another wasted hour bcause MS don't keep their stuff current and
hides links and you have to dig for it)

Microsoft Online Services Authentication option disabled in the OData Data Source for SSIS
I am attempting to use the new OData source for SQL Server 2012 (
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42280)
to access SharePoint Online data. I should be able to do so by selection the "Microsoft Online Services Authentication" option, but it seems to be disabled. Does anyone know how to enable it?
Cheers

Run swing applet without installed plug-in
Is any possible way to run swing applet without installed java plug-in? Does exist way how to load swing classes from server?
Is any possible way to run swing applet without
installed java plug-in? Does exist way how to load
swing classes from server? It is impossible to run a swing applet without the plug-in.
There may be a solution : include the swing library in your applet,
so you don't need the plugin anymore (personnaly i prefer having
the plugin downloaded once and the use it as needed).
For the load from a server you will need to be more specific, but
don't forget : the applet don't run on the server, so it won't request
Swing classes from the server. -
Running java application without installing JRE
We try to run Java application without installing JRE, by copying java.exe (and other JRE files) together with our jar file. This does not work.
Can it be solved? Can you elaborate on the steps to create a java
application without installing JRE.
Regards,
padmaPadma,
The solution is to deploy my JAR together with JRE files, without running standard JRE installation. This makes possible to simply ensure that my JAR will run with THIS SPECIFIC JRE. This is important from QA point of view. Also, installation of my application does not change configuration of JVMs on the computer.
The solved problem:
Standard JRE installation may change the default JRE for many Java applets and application on computer. Changing version JRE may lead to some programs misbehaviour (JRE backward compatibility does not always work and different Java versions not always live together well). Thus, some IT departments are very nervous about JRE version change.
Hope, this explains my problem and the solution. -
Microsoft Online Services Team notifications use 'alternate email address'
Could someone direct me to where I can log a 'feature request' or report what I actually consider to be a 'bug' in how Microsoft uses user profile information in Office 365? Maybe this is the right place...???
Anyway, it seems like a really bad choice to use the email address provide for the purpose of emergency account access (if you lose your password) for notifications about your Office 365 account.
*Alternate email address
If you forget your password, we will use this email to help you reset it and sign in to your Office 365 account.
So, for example, my wife works for a firm for which I am the Partner of Reference on their Office 365 account. My wife is the local admin for the firm's Office 365 account and has given her personal Yahoo email account for the above required 'alternate
email address'. So now, every time I get a notification about their account from the Microsoft Online Services Team, she gets a CC to her personal email account. This is not only illogical and annoying, but violates the stated purpose for providing the alternate
email address. That, in my opinion, make it a 'bug'.
Thanks!

Running application(.jar) without installing sdk
I have developed a javafx desktop application for my college students and gave them the application packaged into a jar file....Now the problem is that they want to run the application without installing the entire sdk.....Is there any way to run it without installing the entire sdk.....
Hope Philho gives a useful answer as he does to all my other questions......Alas, I don't have all the answers... And I must leave some work to do to other people! ;-)
AFAIK, there are only two solutions: install the SDK (not a big problem, is it?), or the official way: use a JNLP file that will run the application while automatically downloading the runtime. -
When trying to add my Partner Intune rights to my Microsoft Online services account, I get the error;
Note: your existing Microsoft Online Services account is not eligible for one or more partner benefits.
Learn more
Does anybody know how to work around this?Hi Mathew, this worked for me:
1. Sign into your Microsoft Partner account
2. Go to Orders & Benefits
3. Select Download Software
4. Click on Microsoft Online Services
5. Under MPN Online Services click Expand products
6. You should see Windows Intune click this
7. There is one final link to click
This should add you Intune licenses to your portal

In Windows Server Essentials 2012 R2, all of our online services integration features, including Azure Active Directory and Office 365, are supported only in environments that
have a single domain controller. In environments with more than one domain controller, integration of these services is blocked due limitations in the user account and password synchronization mechanism in Windows Server Essentials.
I am happy to announce that with the recent Windows August Update released on (8/12/2014, PST), this limitation has been removed. This update adds support for both Azure
Active Directory integration and Office 365 integration features in domain environments consisting of a single domain controller, multiple domain controllers, or Windows Server Essentials as a domain member server.

Can I run this program on other machine without install sql server ?
If I can't. Are there other program simpler than sql server help me run it ?
THANK ALL !Agree with Nicolas. You need to modify connection string to point to proper server name. This might help in getting proper name of instance.

Run exe file without installing labview
i created my labview into exe file. I need to run this exe file on another computer which have no labview application. There's anerror when i try to run it.What do i have to do without installing labview application into another computer?
Solved!
Go to Solution. As Freelance_LV already asks, there are possibly additional components you require for your EXE to run.
The easiest thing to point out is required hardware devices and their drivers. If that is available (or not used), the EXE should run with the correct LV RTE (runtime engine). You can think of the LV RTE as of the .NET framework.
Please note that most drivers and runtime engines from National Instruments are free of charge for deployment. But there are some runtime engines which are liable to costs.

Cannot install Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant.
Well, I am having some issues installing "Windows Live Essentials" update and "Games for Windows Marketplace". I have found that the cause of this is from "Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant", (wllogin_64.msi) which I am unable to install.
Things I have tried:
Removed every live related application with the windows cleanup tool.
Tried to install wllogin_64.msi as administrator.
Tried to install wllogin_64.msi in safe mode.
Restored from an earlier system point.
Ran chkdsk.
Ran a virus and spyware scan.

I would really like some help on this one, I have games that I bought through the marketplace and I can't access them without this sign-in assistant.Hi, I'm having the same issue as the OP. I just recently got Resident Evil 5 for PC. I've had it like a month and I can't get it to work. At first I tried it on my desktop, which runs on XP, and I found out part of my issue was the fact that some of my parts
are out of date. However, I could never get Games For Windows Live to work because it would never connect to download my profile because of a "network error". I later found out that there's something called hotfix.exe that you need to have to get it to work.
I looked THIS up and found it on the Microsoft website and then found out, thankfully, before I ran it that someone else had been having the same issue as me with Left 4 Dead, and when they installed hot fix it crashed their computer, and they no longer have
an operating system.
So I did NOT run hotfix.exe on my desktop. I have been since waiting to get my laptop back to install it. It runs on Windows 7, and is considerably newer. Now, I have sat here for 7 hours waiting for RE5 to install. It installed, finally and brought up the
game screen. I went to sign into GFWL, and it worked! However, it also said that there an "update" that needed to be completed and gave me
bullshit saying that if I didn't do it, it would sign me out. (This is also the same message it has been giving me whenever I try to sign into Messenger. It should also be noted that as well as with messenger, it won't fucking install.)
So, anyway, I downloaded and installed the update. It closed out the game, started it back up and I went through the same process again. I downloaded this mysterious update THREE times. Finally, I restarted my computer. I went back into the game and was
met with the same message again. This time I closed it out and went to run Games For Windows Live to see if maybe I could find a list of needed updates and do them all at once. It told me I needed the sign-in assistant to run it so I went to download that.
Like OP, I'm being met with the same issue. It just goes through the process every time and always closes out because of some "error". On top of this, now I can't even get Resident Evil 5 to start. It keeps giving me yet ANOTHER "error" message. I don't
know what to do next aside from un-install it and try again, but I sat here for
six fucking hours waiting on it to install the FIRST time. This is also the third computer I have sat and waited to try and install this game on. I am at a total loss, and I'm very, very angry. If I may rant for a second:
What the fuck are all these mysterious "errors" I keep having on a new computer that's running perfectly, and why the fuck don't they explain what the goddamn error is so I can fix it? (In hindsight, that might be in the logs but I've been to angry to look
into them.)
And also, in my searching for fixes for this problem, I've come across posts from 2008 and 2009 of people having
the same issues. Explain to me why the it's 2011 and it's STILL not fixed?
I am not happy with Microsoft right now, at all. I think it's bullshit you have to even sign up for an account to even save the info. None of the many other games I play do that. And how are we supposed to be able to play the goddamn games if Games For Windows
Live is glitched? I've never done anything with GFWL before this so I didn't know it was having these issues. Do I need to search EVERY aspect of a game AND it's software AND the people that made it available to make sure I can play it now?
Is spending 2 thousand dollars on computers from Microsoft and another 30 on a game not enough of a payment to be able to
play the fucking game? -
Unable to install Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant v6.5
Hello,
I am trying to install the 'Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant v6.5' downloaded from 'https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=15106'.
Since the target operating system is Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, I am using the 'wllogin_64.msi'.
However, the installation hangs at the following screen:
The install logs state the following:
MSI (s) (D0:A8) [01:43:22:934]: Executing op: DialogInfo(Type=0,Argument=1033)
MSI (s) (D0:A8) [01:43:22:934]: Executing op: DialogInfo(Type=1,Argument=Windows Live ID Sign-in Assistant)
MSI (s) (D0:A8) [01:43:22:934]: Executing op: RollbackInfo(,RollbackAction=Rollback,RollbackDescription=Rolling back action:,RollbackTemplate=[1],CleanupAction=RollbackCleanup,CleanupDescription=Removing backup files,CleanupTemplate=File: [1])
MSI (s) (D0:A8) [01:43:22:934]: Executing op: SetBaseline(Baseline=0,)
MSI (s) (D0:A8) [01:43:22:934]: Executing op: SetBaseline(Baseline=1,)
MSI (s) (D0:A8) [01:43:22:934]: Executing op: ActionStart(Name=CAPerformMUOptIn,,)
Action 1:43:22: CAPerformMUOptIn.
MSI (s) (D0:A8) [01:43:22:934]: Executing op: CustomActionSchedule(Action=CAPerformMUOptIn,ActionType=3073,Source=BinaryData,Target=CAPerformMUOptin,)
Due to constraints, I cannot paste the entire contents of the log, but the installation hangs at the above mentioned location.
Is this the expected behavior of the installer ?
If not, how do I fix this ?
Please help.
Thanks.Hi Soumen Ray,
Is this the first time to install this software ?Have you tried to restart the machine and reinstall to have a check ?Is there anything recorded in the Event Viewer ?

Run labview executable without installing
Hi
We need t run a LabVIEW executable without the need to install the runtime engine first.
In fact we use a LabVIEW program to distribute LabVIEW within our company.
We add our own library and a special license request form and make it possible to install a LabVIEW development environment
with only the push of one button.
In LV8.2 however this no longer works. First the runtime environment has to be installed before we can run our LabVIEW application.
Previous LabVIEW versions worked OK.
Are we missing an option in the installer somewhere or can somebody show the way to make this work again otherwise we have to keep 8.01 until infinity....
greetings from the NetherlandsHi Albert,
Long time no see... Perhaps at the user group meting okt. 5?
We (Andre) did some experiments with this just last week. He copied everything from the normal installation directory (program files) runtime directory to a new directory on a clean PC. In the same directory he put an executable, and it did run properly (although I think he also copied the models directory to get proper control images).
Only thing is that at the startup of the exe, we get a dialog "Installing...". Still working on that. This might even work from a CD...
He made a big effort to remove all previous LabVIEW stuff, but to be honest, we didn't try it on a completelly "clean" system.
Regards,
Wiebe.

I've tried everything to get my keyboard backlight to work, but it won't!
Hi guys, I know this subject has come up before, and I've tried all the suggestions given (ie re-booting, pulling the battery etc). When I pull the battery or re-boot, the backlight will work, but only for a few seconds and then dims again. Every now
