Run multiple apps iPad 4

HEllo. I'm still new to iPad so bare with me please. Is there any way I can run multiple apps on my iPad 4?

You can only have one app open on-screen at a time, but if you double-click the home button below the screen you should get a taskbar appear at the bottom of the screen which allows you to switch to a different recently used app (some of the apps that show on the taskbar will be active, but most will just be 'recently used').

hello, my eyesight issue happens occasionally, from time to time i run multiple apps that use the isight camera. when i close each app the isight camera's green light is still active. When that happens the only way to stop the isight camera is to reboot.
Is there a way to use activity monitor to identify and kill the process controlling the isight? My apologies in advance if this sounds windows (task manager) like.
    Thanks

com/kb/HT2411: Your camera can be used by only one application at a time.
(Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD."  Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)

  • Issues when running multiple apps on same JRE?

I've created an application that launches other Java applications, all running on the same JRE. I've noticed that this results in significant memory savings (60% or more). Performance doesn't seem to be measurably affected, but I've never run more than 4 applications at the same time on the same JRE.
Does anyone know of any performance issues in situations like this? JRE limitations? Any information would be appreciated.

"It's just not obvious from the 1.3 API docs that the classLoader is what's responsible for associating a set of classes with a set of threads."
No, that's not what I was implying. The default classloader caches the definition of previously loaded classes (ie, bytecode, static variables). By default, there is no way to unload a class. Static variables will also retain their values -- which could confuse an application that is run multiple times.
This is the suggested implementation defined in the JVM spec:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/vmspec/html/ConstantPool.doc.html
Basically, if a class has already been loaded, it returns it. You can write your own custom classload to prevent this (as the link you found suggests) or use multiple classloaders.
Imagine what happens when you write an application and then recompile a class WHILE running your application. Will the next instance of that class be updated? The answer depends on whether your classloader will reload the class from disk, or use a cached instance in memory (as the default one does).

  • Run multiple apps from one browser windows with 9ias r2

We are running 9ias r1 with forms 6i as our production server. Users are able to access one html page with multiple links to their applications. They can run one application, keep it running, navigate back to the html page and run a second application.
We are testing 9ias r2 with forms 9i, but when users try to navigate back to the html page to run the second application the first application closes.
Is there a way to have 9ias r2 work the same as r1 and allow users to run multiple application from one html page?

    Hi,
Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
You can take rdp of server 2012 R2 from Fedora Linux desktop by running Yum command or Gnome rdp support. Please check below article for information.

  • IOS4 doesnt run multiple-apps

Is it just me or is IOS4 just a major disappointment?
Although its great to be able to set up folders to put relevant apps into, the thing thats bugging me is this multo-app thing (to run several apps at once).
it just doesnt work! if i have music laying from the ipod player and go into an app, the music cuts out.
if i exit a photo editing app and go into something, when I come back its not from the same point i left it. and it certainly doesnt continue uploading photos, when in something else.
add the fact that its fiddly open a second app (it often just shuts the first app down), and it all mounts up to a waste of effort.
and dont get me started on having to enter all my IP and cellular data network addresses and passwords, everytime I do a bleedin backup!!!!

Do you know how to work the multitasking? you have to double-click the center button and it brings up the multitasking shelf, that's you keep them running and save where you left off.
    This is untrue.
The multi-tasking is built-in to the OS, but requires support from the app to actually work. If the App doesn't support multi-tasking, it is quit instead of suspended. How you suspend (or quit) the app does not matter.
The 'multi-task bar' isn't actually that. It's more a 'recently used apps' bar, or when all apps have been updated to support multi-tasking, a task switcher comparable to command-tab on Macs. Going into a multi-tasking capable app through the task switcher or from the home screen makes no difference.
By the way, the iPod-app should always continue playing in the background. If it does not, something is wrong. Try restoring your iDevice.

  • Multiple apps listening to one udp port

Launching second app instance gives error
java.net.BindException: Address already in use: Cannot bindIs there some way to make this work?

Thanks guys, this definitely verifies what I'm seeing, and I realize it's not just Java's problem. And I can't share the source b/c it's closed, I apologize for that. But it's basic socket level programming.
This really is the goal to run multiple apps, so can I get your advice along that approach-- one app listens on the UDP port, and collects all the data, and makes it available to several presentation clients. How to make it available? Regular TCP sockets? How would this middle tier program know when to flush its buffers--that is, when all the apps have gotten up to date? Does it need to know a count of subscribed presentation clients? Receive notification when they close, track if they've dropped off abnormally, etc... Sorry this sort of confuses me :o)
Maybe if there's a guarantee the UDP listener app is running on the same machine as the presentation clients I can use a different method besides sockets at that point?

  • Beach ballin' while running multiple applications!?

If I run multiple programs with 10.5.2, I get the spinning beach ball a lot while doing the most basic things... I bought a mac to be able to run multiple apps comfortably.
My pram is cleared, I repaired permissions, I booted up in safe mode. I did it all. I did everything except going back to 10.5.1
    _+*Where is 10.5.3??*+_

I also have a beach ball issue in 10.5.2 (although it has happened in Tiger also).
I'd say this is quite rare, I've only had it happen three times in total (2x on a MacBook Pro and 1x on a Quicksilver G4).
What happens is that the frontmost app starts beach balling for some reason and it can't be force quit. If I go to another running application I can scroll around fine and also move the window/windows belonging to this app, but as soon as I "do" something (i.e. try to quit it or save an open document) it also starts beach balling. If I try to open another application that won't "come up" properly (pulsate in the Dock) and the it also stalls with the beach ball. This happened when I tried to launch Application Monitor. Eventually the Dock also stalled and the Finder and everything.
    Screenshot:
    http://home.mac.se/star-affinity/beachballing.png
Just now 30 min. ago it happened on my G4 after I just closed the Software Update window after install of the new AirPort software. Beach ball for closing a window? And of course it spread to the other applications, very similar to the way described above.
Not to the interesting part: I can log in to the machine (from another computer of course) using SSH and every thing seems fine when I run the "top" command! No application is using a lot of processing power or anything. I wish I had more Unix command knowledge as I maybe then could do some core dumps of the system or something, because this really feels like some kind of (quite rare, but still) bug in OS X.
Of course it's not impossible that it's a third party program I have running, but I doubt that. Especially on the G4 where I have very few third party background programs (SteerMouse is the only one I think).
I'm seriously thinking about filing a bug report with Apple, although it's very hard to narrow it down as I have no idea what trigger the problem.
Except for this rather serious issue I think Mac OS X Leopard overall is a joy to use!
Therefore it would be really nice to have this out of the way or at least know what's causing it.

  • My husband and I have separate iTunes accounts and multiple devices (iPads, iPhones, iPods etc) how do we share our music and apps between our devices if we have different iTunes accounts.

Help! My husband and I have multiple devices (iPad, iPhone, iPod ) that we we have linked to individual iTunes accounts ie he has his account with iPad, iPhone, PC and iPod linked/sync and I have my account with iPhone, iPad, iPad mini, PC etc.. How do we share our music and apps across/between our accounts?

It probably means that only one of you can use iCloud or at least sync calender/contacts with it. I would guess that you could manually manage the other phone as you have before.

  • Running multiple copies of an App on one NetWeaver server

Hi there,    (V12 with ERP/ECC transactions)
We are setting up our landscapes/environments for development, beta testing, final QA and production.  I am wondering if we can combine development and beta testing on the same system.
The obvious concern is that they will have copies of the "same" transactions.  If we don't do anything special, the data source name is hard coded in the transaction and as we are on the same MII server, they can't point to different data sources unless we edit the transactions.  Is there a way to have a transaction use a configuration of some sort to dynamically specify the actual data source?
Are there any other issues attempting to do this?
    Thanks,
    --Amy Smith
    --Haworth

    Thanks Jeremy,
    Thanks for the suggestion Jeremy.
Our server is not capable of another instance.  It is not easy to get our SAP Basis people to install and configure a new system and we are not allowed to do it ourselves.  I was trying to find a way to use our existing instance of NetWeaver/MII to run multiple copies of the application.  In J2EE apps I have worked on, it is as simple as copying the software, changing the URL, changing the application config files for the data source and deploying the new duplicate app under a different name.
Seems that in MII the transaction "hard" links the data source name to the data source definition and that link is not dynamically configurable.  Would that be a fair statement?
    Thanks again,

  • Run Multiple Instances of Windows Store App

We have a desktop app which we are considering porting to Windows Store. Our app allows the user to generate orders. If the user wishes to generate several orders simultaneously, they open several instances of our app.
Is it possible to run multiple instances of a Windows Store app on Windows 10?

    Hi,
Another thread in MSDN forum already answered this question:

The app is still single instance, but it can now open multiple windows by calling
CoreApplication.CreateNewView. This is demonstrated in the

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

"what does it take to get final apps working on an iOS 7 iPad"
Well most of the school made tutorials that i've seen over years, didn't really have too much code, so it may not take much at all to get it working - it might even work straight away.
There's always some work required - but the pay off will be worth the effort.
Problems to look out for :-
    can't use 3rd party xtras,
    can't use embedded fonts,
can't have easy keyboard entry (you'll need to redesign everything for touch),
scroll text fields need a bit of reworking,
11khz sounds files need to be set higher,
some 8 bit graphics bomb out,
there are some lingo commands that just seem to bomb out the app (work around these with other lingo commands!)
embedded Flash objects need a little bit of work to get them working right,
videos need to be in swf format.
If you're only running them on (in school) iPads - i'd say go with the side loading option.
best not to bother with the app store - if you can.
There are a few other enterprise options that might also suit.
