Run out of battery and lose your work!

Jesus christ, i'm fed up with apple!
I was working on my ******* term paper, and i ran out of battery, my computer then won't start - as usual, when I plugged in the adapter.
Seriously, come on!
That's one of the reasons why I bought it, you never loose your work, bla. bla. bla. Suit up, Apple!
Well since this is a discussion, I might as well ask if anyone has a fix or might have the same problem?

Well, yeah, that's a pretty easy way to look at it!
But my mac used to start up at where I left off, even if it ran out completely. U don't always have an adapter in your pocket! U see?
For sure, but there is a *_command + S_* shortcut to save your work from time to time !

  • Ipod runs out of battery and doesn't work?

Okay... so I'm leaving for a camp in 2 days for 3 weeks and my iTouch isn't working. It recently ran out of battery. So at a friends house, I charged it into a wall. It now only shows a USB cable/charger pointing at the iTunes label/logo. I am far away from my house (up north) so I obviously can't use my iTunes. What should I do? It's frozen and I can't get to my music, or anything. So I would be bumming if I was at camp for 3 weeks without any music.

When you say, "Forced restart", do you mean holding the Home and Lock button together?  If not, try that.  If so, then sorry, I can't think of anything else.  You might need a trip to an Apple Store/Reseller, or call AppleCare (if you have it).

  • My iphone 4 regularly gets stuck on the apple logo screen and stays there until it runs out of battery, and even during charging. what can i do? I have restored it, still it gets stuck on apple logo, anyone pls help.

  • My iPod touch 5 has run out of battery and wont charge what do I do?

My iPod touch has run out of battery and is failing to charge or turn on! What do i do?!

    - See:

    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • MBP Does not sleep it just runs out of battery and dies

I did a fresh install of Leopard yesterday and I have a BRAND NEW MBP Battery, I fully charged it and let it drain down, instead of the computer going to sleep, it just ran out of battery and died.
Is anybody else having this problem and if so, do you have a fix?
    Thanks

    Hi Again Daniel
Again, please excuse a suggestion that may come across as insulting, but I generally work on the premise that to assume is inviting problems... So...
In the sleep preferences system preferences pane, you have two sleep options (for a laptop anyway). One for battery and one for mains power. I suppose you have checked the setting in both areas...
I should also apologise for not suggesting that a PMU (or System Management Controller) reset is the most likely cure for your battery issues... It was rather late when I offered my previous suggestions.
Here's the link to the Apple page which describes the procedure:

I hope this does the trick.

  • I left the battery of my iphone 4 run out of battery and know it does not recharge

yesterday i forgot to recharge my iphone4 when it was nearly out of battery so when i wanted to use it today it was already dead
so i put the phone on recharge but it looks like it does not recharge and i cannot even turn it on.
can anyone please inform me of what the problem is and what should i do.

It takes up to 15-20 minutes of recharging after auto-shutoff for the phone to restart.
    1. Charge with AC adaptor for 1 hour.
    2. If phone has not restarted, reset iPhone (no data loss):  Press both home and power buttons for up to 30 seconds, releasing when the Apple logo appears
If no signs of life after a reset, there is a hardware failure that needs evaluation by Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

  • My iPod 5th gen touch won't turn on after running out of battery and then being charged for several hours

I was using my ipod touch 5th gen, when it ran out of battery. I wasn't able to charge it all night because the lighting adapter plug broke, and so this battery sign and the lighting charger sign kept popping up telling me to charge it. It ran like that all night and when I woke up it wouldn't turn on at all. I tried plugging it into a few different computers to charge it, and after several hours it still won't turn on. I tried plugging it into my computer with iTunes up, but it still would not charge and my computer would not recognize that it was there. Anyone want to give me some tips?
    Thanks

  • My iphone has run out of battery and displys the charging battery when connected. But it doesnt actually charge or is recognised by my mac.

When my phone ran put of battery it went to 1% i charged it all night from a outlet, however in the morning it was still on 1%. So i switched it off to charge, it then said no charge. Then when i try to charge it no charge goes in! Even when plugged into my mac nothing happens, the phone displays the charging battery but the mac doesnt pick up on the phon ebing plugged in. help?!

Clean iPhone charging port with toothbrush. See if better. If not and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution. If no coverage, Apple has battery replacement program which costs $80. If you go your own route, consider batter replacement and/or charging port replacement with attached flex cable, both are less than $10 parts.

If the Home button is broken, best thing to do is take it in for repair, or get an estimate. Make a Genius appointment.

  • Why does my MacBook Pro sometimes restores its RAM when I open it, even though it did not run out of battery?

Sometimes when I open my MacBook Pro, it restores its RAM, as if it has run out of battery, even though it has not run out of battery and it has been charging. Why does this happen, and should it be happening?

It's similar to hybernation mode in Windows.
If you put your laptop to sleep, after X amount of hours it will move to the "deeper" sleep level (save memory to disk and shut down...), to save up battery.
Otherwise if you left your laptop asleep in the evening, you could wake up to a dead battery. Not a great surprise when you in hurry to leave the house with your laptop...

    Hello douraid,
Start with the article below to get your iPhone to take a charge. Once you get it powered back on, you will want to sync again to make sure nothing was lost during the attempted sync.

  • Everytime my iPad runs out of battery i have to plug it into itunes and i have to keep restoring it

everytime my ipad 2 runs out of battery i have to plug it into iTunes. Once i have done that, everytime i do it tells me to restore it.
Ps. i have dropped my iPad and it keeps pressing the home button randomly (and even presses the home button countless times it turns to negative colours). I have tried everything:
    resetting the iPad
    turning it on and off
update it to the latest iOS etc.
Also when i plug my iPad into iTunes wanting to sync the music (which i havnt been able to do in months!) it automatically restores or tells me to do so anyways.

    Hey BuffaloB2013,
First, try force closing the App Store, which you can find out how to do here:
iOS: Force an app to close
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5137
And if that doesn't work, I would reset the device:
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

there was a recent software update that seemed to screw HDV up.  Do some searching here over the last month or 2 and you'll find a bunch of posts and some possible solutions.
Worst case scenario, do as Shane suggests.  But might I suggest you take a look at the user tips section of the forum.  there are some great tips on how to prevent these sorts of problems by cloning your startup drive, etc.
