dual-STI NVIDIA GForce 6800 video cards (w/64-bit drivers)
6 GB RAM
What's the latest word on successfully running PE8 (and PSE8) with 64-bit Win 7 (particularly with my current very stable computer setup above)?

I haven't had any serious issues as such with my Win7 64 bit PC.

Yes you can but you need to partition the drive into at least 2 separate drives.
To do that you need to use a Windows PC to do the first partitioning. Say you split the drive into two partitions each 1TB (or close to 1TB) each.
Partition fand format both partitions on a Win PC as one NTFS and the other FAT32.
Then move it to the Mac and Reformat the FAT32 partition Mac Extended (Journaled) with a GUID Partition Table.
I have that same drive and that is what I did originally with it. I now have it just for the Mac as I have other externals for the Win systems.

Fixbspflvr_nt64.exe cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit

Hello Folks,
Before doing an upgrade from DB2 9.5 FP 4 to 9.7 FP 2, when executed fixbspflvr_nt64.exe as per SAP Note 1332109 got
the following message:
"The program or feature fixbspflvr\fixbspflvr_nt64.exe" cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows copatible version is available"
We are using AMD64 hardware. Did some one had the same issue and got resolution, please share...

I am facing the same problem. I am unable to start my upgrade. I have raised SAP OSS message but I am yet to recieve a reply.
The tool is no longer available on IBM website too as they have released Fix pack 3.

Hi Jane, your info may still be there, look in the Users folder at root of the drive, how many users are there there?
It sounds like this may have happened...
Return to default desktop, apparent "loss" of home directory, (it can happen spontaneously too)...

How i got PE8 and windows 7 64 bit to work for me

First off, i have an ati video card, so if your issue is with your nvidia card there is help in the link i'm going to point you to, but i didn't have to try that out.
When i would run pe8 on windows 7 64 the display wouldn't work at all, and the program was so slow it was painful. i found this link on the forum, and followed the instructions, and everything worked. i didn't even have to replace the old files, because they didn't exist on my computer. i don't know if that's an installation thing with win 7, but the files weren't there. I tried to install twice and neither time did they show up, so i think the only problem for me was the dlls were missing. make sure you follow the instructions all the way, and the link to the new dlls is kind of hidden at the bottom of the page, so make sure you look for it. anyway, i hope this works as well for you as it did for me!

Issues with 64 bit win 7 clients printing from 2008 R2 print server

Hello All,
I have a Windows 2008 R2 SP1 64 bit server built with a print server role. My issue is 64 bit win 7 clients cannot add a new printer. The clients see the printer in the list, starts the printer installation, get to the point of downloading the
driver & then fails ' Windows cannot connect to the printer. ' the error is 0x0000012 or 0x000003ee. Any way I try to add the new printer I get the same result. The only way I can get the printer added is to do a local printer with the full path \\servername\printer_name
and then "have disk" and point to the driver folder on the print server to get the printer added.
Anyone have any thoughts on why the 64 bit clients will not add a new printer from a 64 bit print server ?

Please check if you can ping the print server successfully from this Windows 7 client computer. Did you encounter
the same issue when add other printers? Or just for this one printer?
Please type
regedit on Run to open Registry Editor and follow the path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Connections and check if there has existent printer connection on the registry key.
If any update, please feel free to let me know.

Perfomance/memory usage issues running LR 3.3 on 32 bit Win XP

I'm using LR 3.x for some time now, at the moment my version is LR 3.3. My machine is set up with a 3.6 GHz core 2 duo cpu, 4 GB of RAM and four samsung spinpoint hdd. LR 3.3 runs on Windows XP SP3 32 bit OS, usable memory is 3,25 GB. At HDD 2 LR is installed, at HDD 3 library is located, at HDD 4 LR cache (20 GB) is located. I use one "big" library with around 20.000 raw images. I use 1:1 preview and deactivated deleting preview.
I noticed that LR is working slow after some time of working on raw images. Tools are lagging, rendering takes very long and sometimes I get the error message that not enough virtual memory is available anymore. Also in task manager I noticed a continuos increase of memory usage, starting around 800 MB, ending up - I can't work anymore - around 3,00 GB. Memory usage never lowers.
Do you have any information how to solve this perfomance/memory issues? Thanks and best regards from Germany.

Considering buying MacBook, wish to run windows and Linux with VMware

Considerations:
Which MacBook pro, do they all support virtualization? I7 MacBook pro Retina display was the device I was considering.
What are the other considerations, storage capacity, HD or flash, or simply size?
The operating system I assume would be mountain lion with the mac, I assume thats not an issue.
VMware was the virtualiszation software I was considerring, any others.
Just basic starting information needed, in order to even see if it's possible and which path to take.

Yes. And with these modern multicore processors, you can dedicate a few cores to the guest OS to improve performance. One thing you must have is lots of RAM; enough to keep both the OS X host and all the guest systems happy. Since a new Mac will sport Mountain Lion inevitably, 8GB is a minimum choice. Remember you can upgrade the RAM (and drive) with third party alternatives far cheaper than what Apple sticks you for it.
Virtualization options are Parallels Desktop (most expensive), VMware Fusion (intermediate) or Oracle VirtualBox (free). The two commercial options are naturally more polished than the freebie, but it is fast catching up.

Macbook Pro running slowly and crashing with sleep

Title says it all, really. Whenever I open my Macbook Pro, after closing it to sleep, I have to hard-reset my computer by holding down the power button. Occasionally this problem springs up if I manually have my computer sleep, but typically only when I close it. Additionally, recently it's started running quite slowly as well. I've tried verifying/repairing permissions on the boot disk, but "Repair volume" just does the same thing over and over when I try it. I have 4GB DDR3 RAM, a 2.7GHz DualCore Intel i7 processor, and the Intel HD3000 Graphics Card chipset. 500GB internal hard drive (not a Solid State Drive to my knowledge), of which a little more than half is used. I'm pretty sure my laptop is the 2011 model. I'm running OS 10.7.2, or whatever the latest official release happens to be. Any help would be appreciated, seeing as I close my laptop between classes during the day, and having to reboot it every class is incredibly obnoxious.

I can't provide screenshots at the moment. I live near UNH so I sent it in to them for a supposed hardware fix - I got an email today saying what they tried didn't do anything. I read somewhere about deleting a certain extension relating to power management of the CPU (AppleIntel______.kext), but I didn't get to try it before I sent my computer in, and I can't find that article again. The only thing I had recently installed was Poker Night at the Inventory (a game from Steam), but I installed that on a separate laptop with no issues (my dad's 15" MBP). The fresh Lion install did put me up to 1.7.3. My activity monitor shows like this, normally, only "kernel_task" is taking up 300% CPU and my entire little CPU-meter at the bottom is filled with red. This is a screenshot from my dad's Mac, right now, which is identical to mine except it's a 15" instead of a 13".

Mackbook running slow and hot with osx lion

Does anyone else have the same issue with Lion on their macbook or know what to do to sort it?
My macbook takes for ever to start and open apps (sit looking at the beach ball for ages waiting for web browser to open and I've tried the lated versions of Chrome and Firefox - all the same). the same issue with most apps espeacially itunes.
Also the cooling fan seems to run overtime now and a lot harder than when snow leopard was installed (I can't remember hearing the fan running) and can the open apps which were open when the mac is shut down be disabled once and for all or do you have to check the box every time?

Fans Running Fast And Loud With Kona LHe Card Installed?

Hi,
I have a Power Mac G5 Quad, and it makes noise with fan kicking on after it goes to the sleep mode? I took all the 3rd hardware off it, memory, drives and etc. The LHe Kona I have installed and when my quad is put on the "sleep" mode the fans kick on?, but when I move my mouse it stops? Anyone of you guy have this problem?

Running Totals and Formulas with Cross Tabs

Hi,
I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 and am having two issues using Cross Tabs.
The first is that I want to have two crosstabs. They both will have a common Y axis (Oppourtunity.Sales Rep), and on the Y Axis I want one to show all (Opportunity.Create Date) where (Opportunity.Staus = Won) and the other where (Opportunity.Staus = In Process), but I can't figure out how to contruct the formula to return this result.
The other issue, is that in addition to summarizing based on Sum (Opportunity.Expected Revenue), I would also like to create a running total to show the cumulative (Expected Revenue) Week over Week.
Any direction would be fantastic.

Firefox runs slow and stops for a bit

I find that running flash games such as the ones through Facebook have a lag or the browser freezes up and I have to wait for it to finally go through after sometimes 20-30 seconds. Yet, Chrome and IE9 work without issue moving right through to what I click on.

Also, I have found this to be the same on every computer I use.
Windows 7, Windows 8
Firefox Vers: 17.0.1
Flash: 11.5.502.135
As you can tell, all this is up to date. Its the frames inside the flash window that end up lagging. I used to strictly use Firefox because it didn't have these issues. Now its reversed and I have started to use IE again.
One correction, IE versions I'm using are both 9 and 10.

Dear Mayank,
You can use "CGICMD.dat" file. This file can be used to add key mappings.
You add following lines at the end of this file.
MYKEY: USERID=<user_name>/<password>@<connection_string> %*
You need to restart your OC4J Instance to make above changes effective..
Then, in your web.show_document url include "CMDKEY=MYKEY".
This will definitely solve your problem.
