  • .Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) report server.

    hi
    i have a question about Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) so many users are facing the problem in report server and even i faced the problem,
    i started the report server and tried to display the report but it was giving me errors sometimes
    REP-41213 unable to connect to report server and sometimes
    REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server <servername> failed and so on.
    but after using an ip address or MS loopback adaptor then it works perfect.
    in Forms [32 Bit] Version 9.0.4.0.19 (Production) its working with machine name and we do not need ip address and also we can start report server by services.
    But in Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) its not the same and all the time we start report server by command.
    Is there any solution in Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 that run report server without ip or loopback but only work with a machine name?.
    sarah

    Hi Sarah,
    my reports-server works all the time, and i did not do any configuration or install any loopback-adapter. I have a reports-server name like rep_<machine> and can use that in forms also as in URL-syntax.

  • Production database sync with Reporting Server

    we have configured always-on on node1 as primary and node 2 as secondary.Now I have launched a new node 3 SQL Server for reporting purpose.I want to have the node 1 Database to be in sync with node 3 Reporting server.
    As I dont want any overhead on the node 1 Production SQL server , I am planning to configure Database Mirroring to have both the database in sync rather than adding the node 3 in the Availability group and syncing the Database in node 3.

    Hi Born4sqldba,
    According to your description, you want to sync the node 1 and node 3 Report Server database. Right?
    In this scenario, since you only want to sync the ReportServer database, we suggest you still configure AlwaysOn Availability Groups because it's for databases. However the Failover Cluster Instances is for instances, and Database Mirroring
    feature will be removed in future version SQL Server. If you insist on using Data Mirroring and AlwaysOn Failover Cluster Instances, please refer to the link below:
    Database Mirroring and SQL Server Failover Cluster Instances
    Reference:
    Reporting Services with AlwaysOn Availability Groups (SQL Server)
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

  • New to Crystal Reports Server - Wondering if this is right product for me

    Good Day! This is my first time at the forums and I hope this is the right place to post my query.
    I have just recently downloaded the free trial software for Crystal Reports Server. I was directed to this software from a group of people on another forum.
    Here is my situation:
    I am currently an administrator for my companies various Service Level Agreement reports. I create the reports in Crystal Reports 9.0 and I connect using an ODBC driver to a DB2 database for a piece of software called HP OpenView ServiceCenter (Peregrine). The Peregrine software comes bundled with an older application called ReportCenter. In this software, I put all the .rpt files into one .ini file. ReportCenter then allows me to schedule the time and the date my various .rpt reports will run. For example, we have a daily report I schedule to run every night at 11:00 PM. At 11:00 PM, the software will then run the report and then export it to a file format of my choice (such as PDF or EXCEL).
    I was told from another forum that the Crystal Reports Server should allow me to perform the same functionality. Does anyone use the software in this manner?

    In addition to Srinivas' excellent replies,  it is also noteworthy that the cr server product line also has several SDK's for developing your own customized applications.  Quite a few custtomers have impllemented their own customized pages to schedule, view and export reports as well as for administration of the server(s) itself.
    I would like to suggest that you look more into a newer version of the product such as CR Server XIR2 or CR Server 2008.

  • Error while starting the report server

    When starting report server in Oracle 10g Reports from command prompt with
    rwserver server='server_name' It is flashing a error "'The procedure entry point psoasyn could not be located in the dynamic link library orapls10.dll"
    do anyone have solution for this.

    Hello,
    This kind of problems may occur when several Oracle products are installed.
    Create a BAT file that will set the PATH variable before calling rwserver.exe
    Example :
    set ORACLE_HOME=d:\oracle\oas10g
    set PATH=%ORACLE_HOME%\bin;%ORACLE_HOME%\jdk\jre\bin\client;%ORACLE_HOME%\jlib;%ORACLE_HOME%\jre\1.4.1\bin;%ORACLE_HOME%\jdk\jre\bin\classic;%ORACLE_HOME%\jdk\jre\bin;%ORACLE_HOME%\jdk\bin;
    rwserver server='server name'

  • After upgrading AS to run Webutil, Reports Server is no longer found

    Recently we update de configuration of Application Server to use the WebUtil features (FileTransfer, etc) but some clients can not view the reports (the PDF files generated and the previous html page where are passed de parameters to generate de PDF file paramform=yes <--- I mean this parameteter passed to RUN_REPORT_OBJECT_PROC )
    The curious thing is that in NetScape it Works fine, but in MS Internet Explorer does not.
    Initially we thought that was the problem, a configuration in the client, but after formatting the PC, the problem persists.
    In the webutils log (after enable this capabilitiy) does not show anything abnormal:

    In a similar topic we read that it could be a problem with the reports classpath, but why webutils configuration works in some clients and with others does not?
    In the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT_PROC function instead using relative address for the reports servlet we changed for a complete adress, I mean
    RUN_REPORT_OBJECT_PROC(repid,
    '/reports/rwservlet')
    replaced with:
    RUN_REPORT_OBJECT_PROC(repid,
    'http://ias.website/reports/rwservlet')
    But the problem persists (we have the reports and forms services in the same server)
    and after debugging the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT_PROC function, in this line
    rep_status := report_object_status(report_message);
    report_object_status returns null
    Why happends this?
    Could you help us? What information need to be posted to this? what else we need to do?
    We configured webutils as mentioned in the Oracle® Forms Developer
    WebUtil User’s Guide
    Release 1.0.6
    We're using MS Windows 2003 Server, Oracle AS 10g and Oracle DB 10g
    The RUN_REPORT_OBJECT_PROC function (procedure) is the same what is mentioned in
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/10g/frmrepparamform.pdf
    and the same that worked fine for a long time ago.

    We added the following lines to webutiljini.htm
    For IE
    <PARAM NAME="BROWSER" VALUE="InternetExplorer">
    <PARAM NAME="MAYSCRIPT" VALUE="TRUE">
    For NetScape:
    BROWSER="Netscape"
    MAYSCRIPT="true"

  • Report created in SSRS 2008 is not able to upload in 2008 report server

    I have created a report in SSRS 2008 version. Our reporting server is 2008 R2. I'm getting the error given below while uploading the .rdl file to report server.
    The report definition is not valid. Details: The report definition has an invalid target namespace 'http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition' which cannot be upgraded.
    Then I've checked the code of the solution and it is created in 2008. It is given below:
    " Microsoft Visual Studio Solution File, Format Version 10.00 # Visual Studio 2008 ........."
    Also, I've checked the code of .rdl file but that made me confused. It shows that the file is created in 2010.

    Visual studio 2010 is also installed in my system. Also, I have noticed that even if we try to open a report then by default it is showing data tools option.I have tried multiple times to create report in 2008. But, still the same result. Also, I could find
    that ,the report will be in 2008 till the creation of data source. The report will be converted to 2010 after creating data set. I have been creating shared dataset and I was getting the above issue.Then I have tried by not creating a shared dataset and
    directly creating dataset in the report data and it has been created as 2008 report. I was able to upload this report to report server 2008R2.
    Can any of you help me to find why the report is created in 2010 while creating shared dataset?

    Hello Julie,
    You mix up Version of Visual Studio, Reporting Services and Report Definition; all those products have Independent Version numbers and are not related to each other.
    Important are the Versions of used SSRS and BIDS, the plugin for Visual Studio. By the Version of Report Definiton you have create a Report with BIDS 2008R2 or SSDT = SQL Server Data Tools; see
    http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/reporting/2010/01/reportdefinition/
    Are you sure you have SSRS 2008 R2 (in post subject you wrote SSRS
    2008)? If it's SSRS 2008 then you really can't deploy the Report to SSRS, you would have to use BIDS 2008 to create the report. Check the Version of SSRS or use "Report Builder 2.0", you can start it directly from "Report Manager"
    URL.

  • Crystal Reports Server XI R2 - RAS service will not start

    We had a copy of Crystal Reports Server XI R2 running on a Windows 2003 SBS Server and the database running on SQL Server 2000 on the same box. We were forced to upgrade this server Windows 2003 SBS Server 2003 R2 with SQL Server 2005. The upgrade worked fine however after the upgrade we could no longer open reports in infoview.
    We soon realised that the RAS(Report Application Server) service was stopped however we could not start it.
    We tried doing a full uninstall(deleting the directory and registry info) and reinstall several times on the same server pointing to the existing database and trying to create a new database in both MYSql and SQL Server but again the same problem. While our licensing agreement means we can only install it on one server we tried on another and again we had the same issue.
    We see several errors in the event viewer of the server, these are:
    -Unable to create the Corba OSCA factory and register it on the eBus (Source:BusinessObjects_crystalras)
    -Failed to register with the CMS 'Server Name'. Please make sure the CMS is up and running. Attempting an automatic retry. (Source: We see this error show on a fair few of the service after stopping and firing up services, but they seem to disappear)
    -An error occurred while creating a Page Server subprocess.(Source: BusinessObjects_pageserver)
    If I try firing the crystalras executable just for interest sakes I get a "No valid license found for this product" error.
    We thought it may have been a license issue caused by the upgrade but have been told that the license key still appears to be valid.
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hey did anyone ever answer your question, I have exactly the same problem 4 years later, sigh

  • Pre-Purchase Question - Deploying Crystal Report to SSRS Report Server

    Our company has recently installed a SQL 2005 server for our accounting system.  I had intended going down the path of using SQL Reporting Services as our reporting tool and deploying them to the builtin Report Server.  However, I've been using Crystal Reports for years and find it much more user friendly for a non-programmer to use.  I can actually write a report in Crystal, SSRS took me 3 days to achieve very little, I believe it requires too much SQL reporting knowledge for a beginner.
    After spending many hours trawling the net looking for a solution to this problem, I found that Crystal comes as part of Visual Studio.  However, I also believe the version of Visual Studio that comes with SQL2005 is the basic version, and I'd need the Pro version to get the Crystal add on.
    To this end, I've downloaded the trial version of Crystal 2008 and installed it.  I find I can write a report in Crystal, and then I can manually add that report to a SSRS project. When I open the Crystal Report within Visual Studio I can see all the correct Crystal toolbars and menus etc, so it would appear that the installation of Crystal for Visual Studio has integrated properly.  I can then deploy that report to the Report server and see the report on the web page.  However clicking to open the report then opens the full Crystal Reports application, instead of just displaying the report in the web page.
    I've been unsuccessful in finding a solution to the above deployment problem.  I'm seeking a solution so that my users can just see the report without Crystal itself opening up.  I've been advised that there is a Crystal Report Server that I can purchase, but I don't wish to go to that expense when we already have this functionality built into our SSRS server.
    Can you please advise if it's possible to deploy the Crystal report to the SSRS Report Server and then open the report within the web page without opening the full Crystal app, and if so what steps I would need to take to implement this.
    If this issue can be resolved, I'll be more than happy to purchase the full Crystal 2008 package and forget SSRS as a bad idea.
    Sorry to be so long winded, I wanted to be clear what the issue is.  Any information /advice would be very much appreciated.

    Hello Diane,
    I would not know if Crystal Report can be used with SSRS but I know for sure that you can use the embedded Crystal Reports Version with comes with VS 2005 or VS 2008 to create reports and to display them in web and windows application.
    We have lots of samples how to do this in our [dev community|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/].
    Also, you can use [Crystal Reports 2008|https://boc.sdn.sap.com/developer/library/CR2008SDK] with MS SQL 2005.
    Other products like Crystal Reports server can also use MS SQL 2005.
    Please see our [supported platforms for CR 2008|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000712280&_OBJECT=011000358700000675322008E] on windows.
    Hope this helps

  • Report server 6i and Report services 10g

    what is the extra features in Report Services 10g which are not available in Report server 6i.
    why would we use AS report services 10g rather then report server 6i,and our only requirment is to run oracle report on web which can fulfill with the help of reports server 6i.

    There is a long list of new features and I cant put all of them here
    You can see docs below
    For running on Web 9i, 10g moves to Servlet based architecture (though old cgi mode is available for backward compatibility). Reports behaves as a component in IAS and can be monitored and managed through Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

  • Oracle Report Server Issue with Japanese Characters

    We are trying to setup a Oracle Report Server to print the Japanese characters in the PDF format.
    We have separate Oracle Report servers for printing English, Chinese and Vietnamese characters in PDF formats using Oracle Reports in the production which are running properly with Unix AIX version 5.3. Now we have a requirement to print the Japanese characters. Hence we tried to setup the new server for the same and the configurations are done as same as Chinese/Vietnamese report servers. But we are not able to print the Japanese characters.
    I am providing the details which we followed to configure this new server.
    1.     We have modified the reports.sh to map the proper NLS_LANG (JAPANESE_AMERICA.UTF8) and other Admin folder settings.
    2.     We have configured the new report server via OPMN admin.
    3.     We have copied the arialuni.ttf to Printers folder and we have converted this same .ttf file in AFM format. This AFM file has been copied to $ORACLE_HOME/guicommon/gk/JP_Admin/AFM folder.
    4.     We have modified the uifont.ali (JP_admin folder) file for font subsetting.
    5.     We have put an entry in JP_admin/PPD/datap462.ppd as *Font ArialUnicodeMS: Standard "(Version 1.01)" Standard ROM
    6.     We have modified the Tk2Motif.rgb (JP_admin folder) file for character set mapping (Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-1=UTF8) as we have enabled this one for other report servers as well.
    Environment Details:-
    Unix AIX version : 5300-07-05-0831
    Oracle Version : 10.1.0.4.2
    NLS_LANG : JAPANESE_AMERICA.UTF8
    Font Mapping : Font Sub Setting in uifont.ali
    Font Used for Printing : arialuni.ttf (Font Name : Arial Unicode MS)
    The error thrown in the rwEng trace (rwEng-0.trc) file is as below
    [2011/9/7 8:11:4:488] Error 50103 (C Engine): 20:11:04 ERR REP-3000: Internal error starting Oracle Toolkit.
    The error thrown when trying to execute the reports is…
    REP-0177: Error while running in remote server
    Engine rwEng-0 crashed, job Id: 67
    Our investigations and findings…
    1.     We disabled the entry Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-1=UTF8 in Tk2Motif.rgb then started the server. We found that no error is thrown in the rwEng trace file and we are able to print the report also in PDF format… (Please see the attached japarial.pdf for your verification) but we are able to see only junk characters. We verified the document settings in the PDF file for ensuring the font sub set. We are able to see the font sub setting is used.
    2.     If we enable the above entry then the rwEng trace throwing the above error (oracle toolkit error) and reports engine is crashed.
    It will be a great help from you if you can assist us to resolve this issue…

    Maybe 7zip or another tool has workarounds for broken file names, you could try that.
    Or you could try to go over the files in the zip archive one-by-one and write it to files out-1, out-2, ..., out-$n without concerning yourself with the file names. You could get file endings back via the mimetype.
    This script might work:
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <zip.h>
    static const char *template = "./out-%04d.bin";
    int main(int argc, char**argv)
    int err = 0;
    zip_t *arc = zip_open((const char*)argv[1], ZIP_RDONLY, &err);
    if(arc == NULL)
    printf("Failed to open ZIP, error %d\n", err);
    return -1;
    zip_int64_t n = zip_get_num_entries(arc, 0);
    printf("%s: # of packed files: %d\n", argv[1], n);
    for(int i = 0; i < n; i++)
    zip_stat_t stat;
    zip_stat_index(arc, i, ZIP_FL_UNCHANGED, &stat);
    char buf[stat.size];
    char oname[sizeof(template)];
    zip_file_t *f = zip_fopen_index(arc, (zip_int64_t)i, ZIP_FL_UNCHANGED);
    zip_fread(f, (void*)&buf[0], stat.size);
    snprintf(&oname[0], sizeof(template), template, i);
    FILE *of = fopen(oname, "wb");
    fwrite(&buf[0], stat.size, 1, of);
    printf("%s: %s => %lu bytes\n", argv[1], oname, stat.size);
    zip_fclose(f);
    fclose(of);
    zip_close(arc);
    return 0;
    Compile with
    gcc -std=gnu99 -O3 -o unzip unzip.c -lzip
    and run as
    ./unzip $funnyzipfile
    You should get template-named, numbered output files in the current directory.

  • Please help with my crystal reports server 2008 trial setup

    Firstly, if this is in the wrong section feel free to move it. I find this forum is to big to find the information i need, in fact trying to find anything i need on this website is almost impossible. So far not impressed with SAP at all! we download a trial and when we have problems nobody can support us and we have to post in the forums for answers, which i find disgracefull to be honest. So this post is my last attempt of finding the answers to my problems or we are going to forget crystal reports server for good! I was also told that if i wanted help setting this up then i would have to pay, thats not how things usually go when we download a trial of any software!
    Anyway, rant over!!
    Right, we have windows server 2008 and have installed crystal reports server 2008. So far all i have managed to get working is the reports themselves which run and schedule fine. The dashboard and business views are so confusing i just dont get it at all, the manuals dont help either becuase they are rubbish basically. But my first problem is trying to get windows AD authentication working! easier said than done. I have spent 4 days trying to get it working but nothing is happening. this is what i have done so far
    Set up all the options in the CMC to enable AD authentication, mapped a few groups one of which i am a member of.
    Then i setup the krb5.ini file like below (removed my server name and domain name)
    [libdefaults]
        default_realm = DOMAIN.CO.UK
        dns_lookup_kdc = true
        dns_lookup_realm = true
        udp_preference_limit = 1
    [realms]
    DOMAIN.CO.UK = {
        kdc = DC.CO.UK
        default_domain = DOMAIN.CO.UK
    i also have that other file bscLogin which looks like this...
    com.businessobjects.security.jgss.initiate {
    com.sun.security.auth.module.Krb5LoginModule required;
    The server inteligence agent has been set to use the same username as i specified in the CMC which is also the service principal name and the administartion name
    i have set the web config file to use SecWINAD as default, i have also set it to give the option of enterprise, win ad etc in a drop down list
    i have gone round in circles for days following the instructions, and nothing is happening
    Also i dont see any usernames within the groups i have mapped , am i supposed to see any? am i supposed to add them manually?? if so, whats the point in that?
    So now everytime i try to log in i get this error message
    Account Information Not Recognized: Active Directory Authentication failed to log you on. Please contact your system administrator to make sure you are a member of a valid mapped group and try again. If you are not a member of the default domain, enter your user name as UserName@DNS_DomainName, and then try again. (FWM 00006)
    There is also another error message i get, which isnt coming up right now but it says somthing along the lines of could not authenticate at this time (FWM 00005)
    i fail to see what im doing wrong. I shoudl also point out that the username i am using for everything is our own network admin password!
    any ideas on things to check before we give up with this all together?

    Hi Roberto,
    With the changes when SAP took over BusinessObjects the support packaging also changed. It's the way it is now but we are moving to and giving as much options as we can. SAP works on the Self Serve practice. the info is available but you have to find it, which is another thing we are working on to improve for BOE/CRS.
    Best place to start is in the CMS link off the start menu, You'll find the Admin Guide and Setup/Configuration Guides. • How to add a new font into Report Builder and Oracle Forms/Reports Server?

    Hi,
    I've searched the forum and can't find this being discussed.
    My developers run Report Builder 10.1.2.0.2 on their XP laptops.
    Their reports run (in production) on Oracle Forms/Reports Server 10.1.2.0.2.
    This server runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
    They've got a client who wants reports using the "Garamond Western" font.
    So....how do I get this font onto the developer's Report Builder laptops, and onto the Oracle Forms/Reports Server?
    I've moved various 'Garamond' fonts into C:\WINDOWS\FONTS on both the laptops and the server, but neither seem to recognize it.
    Thanks for your help.

    Thanks.
    This answers 1/2 of my question.
    The developer can now use Report Builder on his laptop, with the new fonts.
    But when he moves this new Report to the Oracle Application Server/Forms-Reports Server, it fails to use the new fonts.
    The Oracle App Server/Forms-Report Server is Version 10.1.2.0.2. It runs on MS Windows 2003, SP2.
    I have installed the exact same fonts on this server, into C:\WINDOWS\Fonts.
    I have used REGEDIT to change REPORTS_PATH....and placed C:\WINDOWS\Fonts; as the first value in this field.
    I have then stopped and restarted the Forms-Reports Server.

  • Report Server 2005 Issue

    Hi ,
    I am getting the following error message when trying to access the Report Server after I configured my reporting services in SharePoint Integrated mode(which gets completed by the way).
    An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError) Get Online Help

    Any Idea what may be causing this.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Atul,
    Based on my research, this issue can be caused by Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint not installed on the Report Server. If in this scenario, please try to install it.
    The Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Add-in provides a set of features that enable you to run a report server. And It is installed through a Setup program that you run at a command prompt on a server that has an instance of the SharePoint product
    or technology you want to use.
    For more details, please see the following documents:
    Installing the Reporting Services Add-in
    Requirements for Running Reporting Services in SharePoint Integrated Mode
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
