Run Rapid Install error:InDbCtxFile.uploadCtx()
Hi,
We are upgrading from 11.5.10.2(Database 10.2.0.3) to 12.0.4,while doing the Rapid Install wizard to lay down the file system,i have seen the errors in logfile as below.
1)Attempting upload of Context file and templates to database...ERROR: InDbCtxFile.uploadCtx() : Exception : Error executng BEGIN
fnd_gsm_util.upload_context_file(:1,:2,:3,:4,:5); END;: 1; The element reports_port is missing from the context file
/u1690/oracle/oad6/inst/apps/oad6_dnalx750/appl/admin/oad6_dnalx750.xml. The context file upload will not continue.
FAILED
2)Executing service control script:
/u1690/oracle/oad6/inst/apps/oad6_dnalx750/admin/scripts/adformsctl.sh start

Hi,
Did the installation complete successfully (i.e. the "Validate System Configuration" verifies that the configuration is correct)? If so, then you can ignore those errors and proceed with the upgrade.
From the (Upgrade Manual), Page 2-19 ..
Rapid Install (as it runs AutoConfig) records errors in the AutoConfig log file. These errors occur because the database has not yet been upgraded. They can be safely ignored. The errors will be resolved when you run Rapid Install (and AutoConfig) in Step 2 of the Finish the Upgrade section of Chapter 3.

Is there need to install pre-requisite of R-12 installetion like (Visual c++ 2005, MKS, GNU) with reference to note 402311.1 ??

EBS 12.1.1 Windows x86 Rapid Install Errors
By this point, I am CONVINCED that R12.1.1 is broken for windows x86, in the form that it is delivered at edelivery. I have tried installing it on 2k3 and XP all with the exact same errors. I have also tried the latest rapid install/StartCD version 12.1.1.10 released on 29th June with the EXACT same results.The following are the most common problems:
1) After starting Rapid Install, the first step is to cache the StartCD in the Temp directory under windows. Just as this step is about to complete you get the following error:
Windows cannot find '.\jre\NT\1.5.0\bin\java'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.
2) Sooooo, I copied a JRE 1.5.X folder contents into the new \jre\NT\1.5.0 folder under rapidwiz, the absence of which was causing the above error. This allowed me to go past this error only to stumble on this next error. At this point, Rapid Install just stops abruptly. The error as stated in the rapidwiz log is as follows:

RW-50010: Error: - script has returned an error: 2
Returning - 0
Funny thing is, one of the bug fixes in 12.1.1.10 is the above error. I dont know what was fixed, but I do not see a difference in the behavior.
NOTE: I tried keeping the 1.6.0 JRE that comes with the startcd in to the newly created 1.5.0 folder with the same results.
I can't help thinking that the two errors are related, ie., my fix for bypassing the first error might be causing the second error.
As most of you are likely to ask some standard questions, I'll just post their answers before you do.
1) My setup is a VM under VMWare Workstation 6.5 with a single network adapter that is a Host Only networked adapter with a static IP.
2) It does not matter if I do a Express Install or otherwise.
3) Errors are repeatable on multiple hardware platforms, my host system is an 8 core opteron server with 16GB RAM. My VMs have 3GB RAM and 2 virtual processors assigned. Errors were repeatable on a laptop with a turion x2 processor and one with an Intel Core 2 Duo.
4) I am using CYGWIN and it was installed using the Metalink note describing how CYGWIN needs to be installed/configured for oracle applications install.
5) R 11.5.10.2 was successfully installed on all VMs/Laptops.
6) There are no spaces in any of the paths.
7) The staging area was created with StageR12 as the root folder under a Local Hard Drive to the VM/Machine.
8) I get ABSOLUTELY no warnings/errors with my Rapid Install during the pre-requisites check phase. Following is a sample log:

11i Install errors on Windows 2003
Hi all
I've downloaded 11i.10.2 from the edelivery site, and unzipped all files to E:, so my staging area looks like E:\startCD, E:\oraDB, etc.
All the pre-install checks come up fine, however, the install fails on step 2 with the following error:
RW-50004:Error code received while running external process.Check log file for details.
Running Database Install Driver for ACC instance.
[Aside: This is the second time this has happened, the first using VIS for the SID. I now can't use VIS or ACC for the SID, as there are services set up for each of these. Does any one know how to remove these services (Start -> Administrative Tools -> Services)?]

SparrowDCLXVII've downloaded 11i.10.2 from the edelivery site, and unzipped all files to E:, so
my staging area looks like E:\startCD, E:\oraDB, etc.You have to correct the set up of the stage area directory. The installation file system must contain a directory, Stage11i, in which the downloaded files will be unzipped. The file structure under that top-level directory will be automatically created when unzipping the files.
So, all what you need to do is the following:
- Create new directory E:\Stage11i
- Place all the zip files you have downloaded under this directory
- Unizip the files within this directory
By the end, you should have a directory structure similar to the following:
E:\Stage11i\startCD
E:\Stage11i\oraDB
E:\Stage11i\oraAppDB
E:\Stage11i\oraiAS
E:\Stage11i\oraApps
E:\Stage11i\oraNLS
Run Rapid Install from the Stage11i directory. -

I am trying to Install R12 on VM ware machine (linux , RHEL 4) , created the operating system users and setup the staging area.
When i run the rapidwiz from the command prompt I am getting the following error.
Could you please , help me fix this one.

If the DISPLAY is set properly and you still get the same error, then I would suggest you download the latest RapidWiz version (Patch 7308107 - Rapid Install 12.0.4.9).
I am installaing it in a vm ware image by connecting an External HDD of 1 TB to a laptop with 2 GB RAM, do you advise me to try installing it on a desktop with higher configuration ? IT has close to 270 GB of free space.With this configuration, you should be to install 12.0.4 directly on the laptop.
For 12.0.4, the total space required for a standard system (not including the stage area) is 73 GB for a fresh install with a production database, and 161 GB for a fresh install with a Vision Demo database.
For the stage area, you need at least 33 GB to accommodate the file system and database files in the stage area.

Error installing RAPID INSTALL R12 on Linux
I did a Rapid Install of Oracle Applications R12 (which contains 10g database) from the root user. After the installation, the system validates the configuration and it shows some problem with database availability. I have attached the log for database availability (bottom of this email), which shows the error "RW-50011: Error: - Apps ORACLE_HOME connection test has returned an error: 2"

Verify that Oracle Data Mining and OLAP are installed in your database by using SQL*Plus to connect to the database as SYSDBA and running the following command:

If the query does not return ODM, then you do not have Oracle Data Mining installed. To install Data Mining, use SQL*Plus to connect to the database as SYSDBA and run the following command:

I am attempting to install Exchange 2013 on to a 2008R2 Server on a domain running 2008R2 DC's. I have worked every error resolution I can find, but I can't get past this error.
Error:

Any assistance is appreciated.Are you running the installation from an ISO-file?
If so, then copy the files (preferably
Exchange 2013 w. SP1) to the local disk
and run the install with elevated privileges.

hai all ,
i faced problem when im install fresh ebs R12
my environment :
sun sparc 64 bit
solaris 11
this occur when i try to install fresh R12
using rapidwiz , the error say ORA-00821: Specified value of sga_target 1024M is too small, needs to be at least 2100M
and when creating control file failed,
is any clue with this problem ?

To set the number of VCPUs for a given Logical Domain (LDom), use the 'ldm(1M)' with the 'set-vcpu' option:
# /opt/SUNWldm/bin/ldm set-vcpu <number> <logical_domain>
For example to configure eight VCPUs for the Logical Domain named "ebs1":
# /opt/SUNWldm/bin/ldm set-vcpu 8 ebs1
Please review the Logical Domains Administration guide for detailed information.
Users can then revert the number of VPUs to the original or desired values as a post EBS install step.

During one step, the system check my configuration.

Unable to deploy any image with WIM file. Vanilla or Custom Image gives the following error:

I'm running OS 10.4 and purchased Mac Box Set with Snow Leopard. When I run the Snow Leo install it errors saying I need OS 10.5 to run the install. How do I get around this? I've read that it's possible to go direcectly from 10.4 to 10.6.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward. -

Which operating system are you running? It might still be running in the background. You may want to check your Task Manager or Activity Monitor. Or better yet, if you feel uncomfortable with that, try logging out of your user account, then back in. That might kill any stray processes.
