Run report from EBS with Discoverer running on a separate server

Hi.
Usually, when I define a report as a form function, it can be accessed using an URL.
In my current project, Discoverer (10g) is running on a separate application server (but using the same database). Is there any way of specifying a function in E-Business Suite to open a report from an external server?

Actually, the URL is to a form function, which in turn will open the report. This URL is just pasted into a jsp in iStore.
If there's another and maybe better solution, I'd really like to know.
I think the ideal solution would be a jsp querying the database and displaying all Discoverer reports assigned to a specific responsibility, then linking directly to the report in viewer, but I don't think this is doable without extensive work.

Numbers are not formatted when run report from EBS

I am opening a new thread to solve my problem of formatting the number in xml report
I dont understand i format the field number in rtf template and the number is displayed correctly when i preview it in pdf.
The situation is like this :
1. i have a field which calculate the sum for every page.
i am using this code to calculte the sum for every page

But when i run this report from ebs the sum amount is displayed like this 444,44434 wich means that the dot is nt displayed .
Can anyone tell me what am doing wrong or how can i resolve this problem ?

FRM-41214 unable to run report from forms with parameters

Hi all,
I am unable to run a report from forms if I pass parameters. Report is running fine in reports builder and in url if I access the report straightly.
I used set_report_object_property to pass the parameters.
Any clues to solve this problem?

Running Reports from Client Machines in which the reports are residing on t

Hi Folks,
I'm using Developer 6i with Oracle 9i. I can run forms from the clients so that the FMX file is residing on a shared drive on the server, but when I try to run reports which also reside on the shared drive of server, I get error that unable to find the report. Do I need to install report server on the client machine/server or am I missing some basic step here?

We need to do the same on 9i forms and reports, we are running into problems.

I have entries in my keymap file and I can call my reports via

Ok, I was able to figure out the functions that were confusing me. For my own record and for those that do not know, I will list how to create the objects necessary to add a new report to a menu.
1-Write JSP (should be written just how Oracle writes theirs)
2-Creat function for the new JSP page as System Administrator responsibility
3-Use Sys Admin to add the function to a menu somewhere
4-Using AK Developer responsibility, create an attribute with the label of the attribute being the name of your function you created. Oracle's convention is the name of the attribute has FS in it.
5-Using AK Developer, lookup the ASF_FUNC_SEC_REG region
6-Drill down into that regions attributes
7-Add a your newly created attribute to this region

How to create a variant to a report from another program at run time

when i am using FM : /OSP/REPORT_CREATE_VARIANT to create a report variant from a program then i am getting an error 'For object /OSP/ERPNR , number range interval 01 does not exist ', how should i avoid it or can any one help me out to create a report variant from another program at run time with the results of the program.so that i can execute the report from here with this variant

If i understand you,
- You can use a FM like [RS_CREATE_VARIANT|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/advancedsearch?cat=sdn_all&query=rs_create_variant+&adv=false&sortby=cm_rnd_rankvalue] to create a variant and then use it in the [SUBMIT|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_03/helpdata/EN/fa/096d67543b11d1898e0000e8322d00/frameset.htm] statement USING SELECTION-SET.
- But you may also use SUBMIT with WITH parameters which doesnt require variant creation and with much less programming efforts.
- You can mix the two solutions also.

I am using oracle 9i on windows 2000 server and no 9iAS at the moment. On client side, i have windows xp and 9iDS installed. I want to run report from forms in 9iDS testing environment.
my forms are running ok but now i need to run report. so what i have done is that i have created a report object in form and following are enteries present in it at the moment.

i have installed report server with following command
rwserver -install 9irep
i have changed entry in rwservlet.properties like
SINGLESIGNON=NO and i have removed the following entire block of 9irep.conf, which i have read from some documentation

i get the following error message when i run my form
frm-41214 Unable to run report
and then next message is
frm-41217 unable to get report job status
i debugged the report id and it is
9irep_0
returned by Report_Job_Id := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(Report_Id);
When I checked the Report Queue Manager
it is showing status like
(9irep)Terminated with error
and detail it shows is
Unable to connect to the specified database.
Now I am wondering what to do next.
any suggestions???????

Hello,
From your description, it seems like the report is faling due to a database authentication problem. When you run your report from Forms, Forms internally passes the its database connection information to Reports automatically. So ensure that you are connected to a valid database in Forms, before the report is called.
Please verify whether a simple report which does not require a database connection, for example, a report containing only a boilerplate text object, is running correctly. Also, in the trigger code that you have specified, you should add the following:
SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY(Report_Id, REPORT_DESTYPE, CACHE);
so that the report output gets generated to the server cache, and can be retrieved using rwservlet/getjobid.

Hi how are u all.......i am shahzad and i have little problem....i am working on developer 6i with oracle 9i database..........now i upgrade into developer 9i.....now the problem is that when i call the report from form then error is generated that is like'you cannot use reun run_product here use run_report_object'
Any one plz tell me how to run report from forms 9i also how to pass parameter too...means check the parameter from forms and give me the reports

When run report from form(6i) on the web,error FRM-921000

While I was trying to run report from form (6i)on the web,it will give me this error
message FRM-921000 and hang.
But when I try to call form using form,I do
not have the problem.
May I know ehat is the cause?

I am running Forms 6i on the web and attempting to call me report via RUN_REPORT_OBJECT. I am getting the same error as Jenny FRM-92100. I need to pass a parameter list so I don't think I can use WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT. Any ideas???

OAS in Unix: URL not found when run report from Form???? please help

We have succesfully install OAS with Form Server and Report Server in
Unix. We able to run Form and Report direct from browser. But we having
problem to run Report from direct Form within the browser. The message from
the browser was 'The requested URL was not found'. We use run_product to run
report from form. Below is the statement:-

i m not very much in developer 9i.from last 2 month i m doing developer 9i.I m desiging and running

Actually what i did,i created a report and save that report with .rdf extension.I set reports_path(In Registry) property to the particular folder where i put all of my reports.In forms developer i add the report as report object from that folder.i set the following few lines in a button click event

The 'rep_lab02' is the name of the report that you give in the node reports
p_fec_uno and p_fec_dos they are the parameters in the report
