Please, I would appreciate some feedback from you guys...
Thanks

Check this note, though not applicable to your upgrade version.  This can give you some clue.
Note 788768 - Problems during upgrade in the phase RUN_RSPTBFIL_DEST
Also try to stop the Shadow instance, restart it manually and try to repeat this phase.

    1. Is figure 5.3 in page 165 correct?
    I think it should be
    Temporary system: DEV 6.0
    Productive system: DEV' 4.6C -> QAS 4.6C -> PRD 4.6C
    2. Is this transport route possible?
"During this phase, you continue dual maintenance of the development
systems. You also transfer changes that you make in DEV' to DEV, and
transport changes to both quality assurance systems."
    DEV' 4.6C -> DEV 6.0 -> QAS 6.0 -> QAS' 4.6C
If we modified some standard programs and transport between two different SAP versions, I think the programs can't work, right?

Here, you need to do manual replication between both development system. No transport is possible because of different versions. I am not sure about the document that you posted but same is explained very well in upgrade guide. Please check there.

  • Certain Devices failing during OS .wim deployment after upgrading to 2012 R2

We just upgraded to 2012 R2 and for some reason, now some of our newer machines goto BSD loop after the the apply drivers step.  I have re-imported all of the drivers for these machines into the driver database and driver packages and updated dist points
but still having the same problem.   Will not boot into OS in safe mode either.  I had to remove the HDD to retrieve the smsts logs which say the following: (thanks in advance, any help would be appreciated)

Dont look for WinPE drivers. WinPE is just a slimmed down version of the full OS.
    http://foxdeploy.com/2013/10/02/differences-in-winpe-versions/
Since you are using WinPE 5.0 x64, you want Windows 8.1 x64 drivers.
What model are you trying to image? Are you sure drivers are needed at all? Can you boot up to WinPE 5.0 and get an IP?

  • Compatibility between SAP ERP upgrade with SAP PI 7.3 sp12

    Hi Experts,
Our SAP ERP system getting upgraded to ECC 6.0, ehp 7, SS7 and we need to check its compatibility with the current SAP PI version(7.3 sp09) and its future upgraded version which is sp12.
Would any one kindly help me to track the PI system compatibility with the ERP upgraded version and its adverse effect(if any) on interfaces between PI and ECC system?
    Thanks
    Navneet.

    Hi Navneet
If your PI is already on 7.3, it is compatible with ECC6 EHP7. For more details refer to the SAP note that is mentioned in my reply on the thread below.

    Hi Amirsd,
You will need to use your Solution manager system to apply EHP 4 to your newly installed system.
Use MOPZ to generate XML file which contains the packages to be downloaded to upgrade your current system to EHP 4.0
After that download EHPI tool from SAP Marketplace and use EHPI tool to install downloaded packages.
It would run in 7 phases including downtime phase.
Let me know if you have any queries. !!!!

    Shobhit Garg

since 2-3 weeks I've had some FAIL during the boot (after having upgraded the system, I remember that there was involved an upgrade of init script probably, or something connected with the booting process).

  • Role of Time Mgmt functional consultant during SAP Upgrade from 4.7 to ECC6

    Hi,
Could anyone explain the role of a time management functional consultant during SAP upgrade from R/3 4.7 to ECC6.0. Please provide me if you got any documentation.
    Thanks,
    Sunny

"After you upgrade to SAP ERP 6.0, you can enhance the functionality of your application without performing a further
upgrade thanks to a new deployment technology u2013 the SAP enhancement package for SAP ERP. The enhancement
packages simplify the way you manage and deploy new software functions for SAP ERP." - that is the real benefit of ECC 6.0
There aren't any major changes to PTM functionalities from 4.7 to 6.0. I hope your system is already using IT 2006 instead of IT 0005. Under functional role, you are required to configure/test any functional upgrade and manage data.

  • SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 upgrade?

    Hi,
Currently we have "SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 ides" system with us. Can we upgrade it to ECC 6.0 EHP4 ?
Main concern is can ides system be upgraded to higher versions?
I can see latest avaialable ides version is ECC 6.0 EHP4 ides but there are no upgrade DVDs available at service market place.
    Thanks,
    Ambarish

    Hi Ambarish,
The IDES upgrade is not recommended and not supported by SAP. Reason being, IDES content contains many objects in the customer namespaces and the upgrade would certainly run into issues due to these. SAP Support also cannot be sought for, as the upgrade itself is not recommended. We have performed IDES upgrades, but encountered many issues during the procedure.
u201CIDES Content: Please note that all Support Packages / Enhancement Packages / Upgrades do not have any additional IDES-specific parts. You will not find additionaly demo data in your system after a technical upgrade.u201D
This states that standard SAP content delivery routes (SPs, EhPs, Upg exports) will not contain any IDES content, which is logical. The IDES content is not required by all customers needing SPs, EhPs or upgrades.

    Srikishan

  • SAP ERP 6.0 EHP7 upgrade optimal resources

    Hi,
I am performing EHP7 up gradation on SAP ERP 6.0.
    SYSTEM H/W: 8 CPU's   50 GB RAM
    OS : windows server 2008 R2
    DB: oracle 11.2.0.5.0
SAP source release : ERP 6.0
SAP target release : ERP 6.0 including EHP 7
I have performed above said activity on test system / development system / quality system /production system. The time to complete different systems varied beyond my expected/planned values.
I understood that there are users logged into production system till pre processing stage of SUM tool.So the long running phases (ACT_UPG , SHADOW_IMPORT , etc ) took approximately double the time than other systems.
May i know various other other reasons ,for productions system , which reduces performance (in terms of run time). Is there any ways to improve performance (in terms of run time) .
I have increased R3trans processes,Batch process to higher values during configuration phase of SUM tool. What are the optimal values which can be given in for fast upgrade.
    thanks & regards
    uday reddy

First read the SAP note 1616401 - Understanding parallelism during the Upgrades, EhPs and Support Packages implementations to understand how you can make use of parallelism when you are doing an upgrade. There is no point in having more R3trans processes assigned when there is no sufficient resources available on the server. In order to make effective use of this you should make sure there is enough CPU and memory available on the system.
The activation phase is expected to run for a long time but there are possibilities to improve the performance by adapting the memory parameters of the shadow system. You may refer to these SAP notes 1674812 - Performance improvement for ACT_UPG
1223360 - Composite SAP Note: Performance optimization during import
1897538 - Long runtimes when accessing DD27S in ACT_UPG phase

  • Upgrade of SD to SAP ERP 2005,   FI stays on SAP R/3 4.0

    Hi,
There is a task to upgrade first the SD module to SAP ERP 2005,
but keep the FI module running on SAP R/3 4.0
Is it possible to implement it like this?
Have anyone been dealing with such distributed integration before?
    Best regards
    Maxim

Technically you can upgrade  , but SD is highly integrated with FI  like credit check , tax  etc . With the upgrade it might change the structure of table the link between both the system might effected. You should talk to the Functional consultants and they can give you the advice
    Thanks

  • Check Connection of Communication Arrangement for SAP ERP Financials Using IDoc Failed

    Dear experts,
We are checking outbound connection from C4TE to ERP in Communication Arrangement for SAP ERP Financials Using IDoc Failed.
We get the attached error message:
    Checking connection failed
Error accessing service; Service Ping ERROR: Forbidden (403)
What could be the reasons, in ERP side, through Tcode SMICM, we didn't see any log from C4TE side, and we cannot ping the ERP side successfully.
One more thing, in C4TE, we tried to set the connection to an SAP internal ERP system, and the connection was successful. But when relinked to the customer ERP system, connection failed.
    Could it be firewalls reason?
    Thanks!
    Best regards,
    Wendy

    Hi Wendy,
Yes the assumption could be one reason as well for the error (403 forbidden), but there could be several other aspects also to get the 403 error, for better understanding the reason for the error,  may I request you to create an incident send it to us.
Also please try once running the scenario in C4T and check if the relevant documents are being sent through Outbound Service or not.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Oracle CC&B Upgrade (1.5.15 - 2.3) - 6 CBL programs failing during applyCM

    Hi,
our team is carrying out the Oracle CC&B upgrade from 1.5.15 to 2.3.
we are able to compile the COBOL programs on the Micro focus environment. But about 6 COBOL programs are failing during the package installation (while executing the applyCM.cmd)
I presume that an intermediate code that is generated for SQLs within the program is failing. The sample error message looks like
"Incorrect SQL Declaration". It would be helpful if you could provide us some pointers to resolve this.
Any input on this will be helpful.
    Thanks
    Veena

This is too little information, please be more explicit.
Also have you raised an SR for this upgrade?
