Run Script Without Window

Is there an easy way to run an outside script(PHP?) from AS3? I want to update my file using PHP and I DO NOT want a window to pop up with the script. I have tried using:
navigateToURL (url,'_self');
And several other ways, but most don't work or they open a new window? Any other suggestions?

You want to look into using the URLLoader class to have an external file process information into your AS3 file. Try searching Google using terms like "AS3 URLLoader PHP tutorial"

Run script without logon

Hey there,
I have a task and I'm not sure about the feasibility.
I run a windows terminal server farm with roaming profiles and I would write a script which rename a folder on the user fileshare.
The user has \\fileshare\profile\important and I want to rename this folder to \\fileshare\profile\important.backup.
My problem is this is a sync folder. When the user has a session and execute this script - rename works, but when the user do a logoff the important folder would be write back to the fileshare.
And I'm not really sure how to solve this problem. My (abstract) idea is to build a simple batch script on a other fileshare and when the user clicks a button on an application the batch script starts with 120 seconds delay, during this delay the user logoff
and after this delay (and no other session) the rename
would be happen.
But how is it possible to execute a script (with user permissions) and in the same time a logoff my user session (and have no other session running)
I would be very happy about some ideas for my problem.

no - it should not be the part of roaming user profile (citrix profile management).
I have a folder and this folder synced on every logon on a terminal server. (some stuff from userprofile) - this folder gets corrupt.
my idea is, the user click on a batch script / application / whatever to say :"Hey, I think my userprofile is corrupt. Please restore it."
I can not rename the userprofile order on the terminalserver machine.. so the follow tasks are necessary (i think these tasks would be the best solution):
1) Logoff terminalserver session (the (corrupted) profile writes back to the fileshare)
2) Rename this folder on the fileshare
When the user logon the next time, they will get a new profile because on the fileshare isn't a folder with the right name.
to 1) isn't a problem.
to 2) is a problem. because I want to rename a folder on a fileshare with user rights without a session on a terminalserver.
so my idea was to have a kind of script which delete the user profile and to give over the user credentials. So a script/task can run with user credentials and user permissions to delete the folder on the fileshare (this is possible with the user rights)
without having an active session.
Hopefully I explained my idea a little bit better.

Hi, We're creating a test enviroment and we need to "rebuild" our Database (Tablespace) from scratch everytime we run a test.
What we need is to run all scripts files from windows command line, there is any command or application we can use here?

Create a scripts.bat file with something like this in it:
@sqlplus -S username/password@connect @scriptname.sql

Enterprise Manager Job for Scripting DataPump Export for Oracle Database Running On MS Windows Server 2008

I would like an example of an Enterprise Manager Job that uses an OS Script for MS Windows that would effectively run a datapump export of my Oracle 11g database (11.2.0.3) running on a Windows 2008 server. My OEM OMS is running on a Linux server with an Oracle 12c repository. I'd like to be able to set environment variables for date and time, my export file name (that includes SID, and export date and time, job name, and other information pertinent to the datapump export. Thus far, I have been unsuccessful with using the % delimiter around my variables. Also, I have put the "cmd/c" as the "Interpreter" but I am not getting anywhere in a hurry :-(

4. Is this new or persistent problkem?
5. If server and workstation has different SMB version, set higher to lower one (see Petri web for procedure)
6. Uninstall AV with removal tool and test it without AV

Boot Camp is everything you need to run a Windows application.
Boot Camp allows you to install Windows in a second volume, so you can start up there and run all your Windows apps without needing any Mac OS X app. It's true that OS X apps like Parallels or VMware Fusion allow you to use your Boot Camp partition in Mac OS X, but it looks like you don't want that

Why does Firefox on my Windows 7 PC hang (become unresponsive) while it waits for most pages to load or run scripts?

Firefox hangs (becomes unresponsive) when accessing many sites including Gmail. Eventually, when hung, Firefox will throw up a window saying "WARNING: A script has become unresponsive" or, in the case of Gmail, the page itself will say "Some Gmail features have failed to load due to an internet connectivity problem."
IE8 and Google Chrome are working normally. I've tried Firefox in safe mode, re-installing and even running Firefox portable from a USB thumb drive. Each time with the same result—Firefox hangs or becomes unresponsive while it waits for most pages to load or run scripts.

Your problem sounds like the one that a co-worker and I started to have about the same time. Check your Symantec client management control log. You might see a line like the following.

At first we thought that it was a Javascript problem until we noticed this log. The key words are 'Block' and 'FlashPlayerPlu'. This problem recently started for us, perhaps with a software push 1-2 weeks ago. Internet Explorer does not hang when accessing pages with Flash.
The Flash page does eventually load after a long time. However, since the whole browser hangs for a while, for the most part having the Flash plugin enabled makes Firefox unusable if accessing pages with Flash.
Disabling the Flash plugin solves the hanging problem, but I do not know what is causing the problem, nor do I know when a combination of Windows 7, Flash, and Symantec will work. Your later version of Symantec shows that we might have the problem for a while, but I do not know what customization CSC did with Symantec. My coworker did run a complete virus scan, uncovering nothing. Another co-worker is running Windows XP. She does not have the problem, but I do not know what other versions of software she is running.

Safari 3 cannot run scripts in new window

The problem that I am encountering is that Safari cannot seem to run scripts in a new window. Whenever I click on a link, nothing happens. This occurs on sites like http://www.nbcolympics.com/video/share.html?videoid=0824hd_ccben209 (when I am trying to view the videos) and http://music.aol.com/radioguide/ (Trying to play the stations).
I'm not sure if it's a JavaScript issue or something. I have enabled Java, JavaScript and plug-ins in the preferences pane. I also tried disabling the pop-up blocker but that didn't seem to work. It usually works fine in Firefox (though the nbcolympics site insisted that I didn't meet the browser requirements, when I clearly did.) Sorry I can't provide you guys with much info, I don't know much about web stuff.

Run after effects script without opening after effects?

I have a project as a template. I want to run a script that injects itself with the project and replaces videos and text depending on the contents of my script file. So far so good, but can I run the script without opening after effects GUI? I use this now: afterfx -r c:\script_path\example_script.jsx. Is it considered best practice to have after effects GUI up and running if going to do many script changes on the template? Basically I am looking for the same functionality as aerender with no GUI.

To my knowledge scripts cannot change projects without the program actually running. Scripts merely call reflections of the internal commands which only are available when the program runs in full. Perhaps some of that has changed in AE CC, but I'm not aware of it.

There could be a 32 bit vs 64 bit issues-is the old machine a 32 bit? and what is the new machine as far as 32/64 bit. I am not sure now if CS5 has in the help menu of the PS app the selection to update within PS if so that might work. I know that the Creative cloud app for installs updates etc has caused me much consternation over the last couple few years. Last it could be something like your Software firewall settings or anti-virus anti malware programs. I know that updating the infamous adobe flash that Internet Explorer pop ups setting and having AV turned on as opposed to off can interfere or plain break the update ability

Script Alert "You should only run scripts from a trusted source."

I created a small javascript which opens Photoshop and resizes some images.
I want to be able to double-click the .JSX file from Windows Explorer, and have Photoshop execute the script. Likewise, I want to be able to run the .JSX file from the command line.
The script runs perfectly. However, the problem is that I don't want any user interaction. I want to be able to run the script from the command line without the user having to click anything. What happens now when I try to run the file from Windows Explorer of the command line is, I get a Script Alert with the following text:
You are about to run a script in Adobe Photoshop CS3. You should only run scripts from a trusted source. Do you want to run the script? Yes/No
Is there any possible way to bypass this message or to answer in the affirmative?

My bad. "The /users/<user_name>/documents/Adobe Scripts" folder is working for this purpose for me. I needed a path to it and forgot that the ~ resolves to the current user. Sweet.

End-User Experience error running agent on windows server 2008 R2

I have installed implemented the end-Uer experience agent in a Windows 7 without issues but when we have installed the SDM 7.30 agent and the SAP GUI 730 in a Windows server 2008 R2 and we have configured the agent as End-User experience monitoring Robot in solution manager.
We have distributed one script without issues but the executios are failing with the message:
"SAPGUI Compontent" could not be instantiated (sapfewse):605
We have reviewed the bellow notes but wothout success:
1261706 - Kill bits set for SAP GUI Scripting
1092631 - Remote vulnerabilities in SAP GUI for Windows
We are able to run the scripts in the server directly in the SAPGUI and even with the EemEditor.
SAP message is open since last week, but my be you can provide a faster response.
Could you please help me.

"samba-discovery". An automounter script for windows shares

At the last lan party I found it quite annoying to mount samba shares by hand all the time (as I don't use a smb capable browser with fuse like dolphin or the like). So here's what I've come up with. Explenations on how it works are at the start of the script. You can also download it directly from here. Basically you run it and anything available on the lan will be tidily mounted to /mnt/samba-discovery/*.

thanks a lot, i wanted to write that script for a long time, but never got around. one thing though, you shouldn't mount stuff in a subfolder of /mnt because /mnt itself should be kept for such purposes (unix file hierarchy standards, afaik)
but that should be easily fixed by myself

"Run Scripts" giving a problem to create portal domain

Hello All.
I am new to weblogic portal development. Was trying to create my basic sample portal in weblogic_portal_10.3.4 with the help of documentation. I am getting in running scripts when I was creating the domain. I have followed the below steps, please help me if you find any issue with my steps.
1. downloaded Weblogic_Portal_10.3.4 and installed in my windows 7 environment.
2. launched eclipse for weblogic portal.
3. opened portal prospective in eclipse.
4. right click on server tab and selected "Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.4)"
5. opened "Domain Configuration Wizard"
6. Selected "Create a new Weblogic domain" radio button.
7. in the next screen for "Generate a domain configured automatically to support the following products"
selected "Weblogic Portal 10.3.4" radio button
8. in the next screen given the domain_name
9. in the next screen provided the password/confirm-password for administrator user
10. in the next screen selected JRocket SDK and development_mode for my domain.
11. in the next screen just left all the default configuration for the datasources. ( non of the datasource is selected in their check boxes)
12. in the next screen just clicked on "Next" button and "OK" on my popup
13. in this screen "p13nDataSource" is selected on my left top window area, All 3 SQL Files are selected for loading database.
Clicked on *"Run Scripts"*

CFGFWK-60839: Database Load Failed!
Please help me if you find any problem with the steps that I am following to create my weblogic_portal_domain.
I was following the steps mentioned at : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15919_01/wlp.1032/e14252.pdf to create my domain to start portal development.

Those are the WLP 10.3.2 instructions. But, the 10.3.4 instructions in the tutorial (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26806_01/wlp.1034/e14252/setup_dev_env.htm#i1014619) are wrong, too.
In 10.3.4, with derby, Run Scripts doesn't work any longer; it should still work the other database (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.). Instead, for derby, just create the domain, accepting any warning dialogs about databases that come up. After that finishes, in the domain directory, run create_db.cmd (on windows) or create_db.sh (on *nix and Mac). It should create the derby database files in the domain, and include everything needed.
I'll send a note to get the docs updated.

Running Quicktime in Windows Vista

I have a four year old laptop with Windows Vista as the operating system. Since joining the support communities in August 2010, after buying the Ipod, I have never been able to view the support videos or run Quicktime without "run as administrator" being checked.
Something has changed. I can now run Quicktime or view the videos without any "Run as Administrator".
This could be a result of:-
EITHER Apple has issued an update to Quicktime - there was no definite indication of this
OR it could be the result of a reputable disk optimizer which I have installed to clean up all the "junk" on the hard disk.
I have never seen a solution to this problem - the main reason for viewing the discussions. It has been discussed many times and it has always been left as open problem.
It suggests that the problem is registry related, i.e. it is related to a registry error. I can't pinpoint which registry it was as there were so many errors detected.
Has anyone else seen this change, without having to optimise the disk?

Thanks for your reply. We have not been in a discussion before. I first posted the problem in August 2010 and received no response, other than someone telling me to repost to the correct place!
I watched a discussion of yours on this subject from around 25-10-2010, and stayed in the background.
I had many years at work interfacing with industrial microprocessors, and learned to "sniff" out problems from the early 1980s. Before that it was "simple" logic and analogue circuits. Most problems were nothing to do with the micro - or electronics - at all, but it always took the blame. Dealing in depth with personal computers is a different and more difficult approach.
The System Optimizer I am using is Norton Utilities 2011, so it's not just a "disk optimizer" even if it optimises information stored on the disk. The are no secrets these days, as there are other products available which will achieve the same results. The software may help to prolong the useful life of the laptop for another 2 years or so. It's cheaper option than buying a new laptop. The biggest improvement made was by increasing the RAM to the maximum which this machine can handle at 2GB.
I was never happy with the "run as adminstrator" situation, but now that ASC is a https site then things are more secure.
It's never clear exactly what a registry cleaner does, but it presumably works down a chain of commands until it reaches a dead end.
The next step will be to see what the current parameters of HKEY_CURRENT_USER......QUICKTIME PLAYER are set at and possibly revert to the old setting to see what has changed - possibly a risky procedure.
