Run SQL statements from a textbox
Hi
I'm trying to execute multiple insert/update or Delete statements from a textarea of a page. I'm basically trying to replicate the same functionalility as SQL Workshop for users to access and run sql statements for it.
I know in SQL workshop you can run multiple insert/update or delete statements using the following syntax:
begin
insert into table_1 (col1,col2)values('WER','QWE');
Insert into table_1 (col1,col2)values('ABC','DEF');
End;
I have created a textarea called :P1_SQL with a submit button which when pressed it runs the execute immediate :P1_SQL. It works if its a single insert command. I've tried the begin...end option which bring up the following error message:
ORA-06550: line 1, column 6: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "" when expecting one of the following: begin case declare exit for goto if loop mod null pragma raise return select update while with << close current delete fetch lock insert open rollback savepoint set sql execute commit forall merge pipe The symbol "begin was inserted before "" to
Any ideas how I could get this to work?

The process code that I have is as follows:
Declare
l_sql varchar2 (4000);
begin
l_sql := :P3_SQL;
execute immediate l_sql;
End;
in the textarea I had entered the following
begin
insert into TBL_TEST_SQL(name,useR_id)values('abc','erf' );
insert into TBL_TEST_SQL(name,useR_id)values('dec','erf');
end;
I was actually hoping to concatanate the 'begin...' part and the 'end;/' part on to the beginning and end of the sql statements.
Any ideas??

Hello
I have SQL statement with parameters and I want client to run it from APPS.
What should I do for this.What client are you talking about? Something like sql*plus? Or do you mean the Oracle Apps GUI front end?
The best way is to properly set this up as a concurrent request. That will allow the user to enter any parameters and run it whenever. But that's an issue for a different forum.
Whatever you do, don't give out the apps password <shudder> -
Run sql statement from batch file
How can we execute SQL Statement using Batch file???
I did a test.
create batch file test.bat
sqlplus "username@db /pass" @\script.sql
script.sql file has following statement
select sysdate from dual;
exit
it is working but I want to call sql statement in the same batch file instead of calling .sql script file. how can I do that any idea..This is very easy in unix shell scripting, but AFAIK, not available with Windows. It's a function of how the shell/command processor handles input redirection.

It seems when you are starting RMAN it's executing some commands (one 'ALTER SESSION...'. It's seems to be a batch which has a bad value for SORT_AREA_SIZE. Find it and modify to a proper value as message shows. If you can't find start RMAN by calling directly the executable ($ORACLE_HOME/bin/rman or %ORACLE_HOME%/bin/rman.exe). -
Where to run SQL statements in Oracle Database 11gR1 ?
Folks,
Hello. I have just installed Oracle Database 11gR1 and login to Database Control page. There are 4 tabs on the top: Database, Setup, Preference, Help and Logout.
I just create a table "table1" in "Database" tap. But I don't see anywhere to run SQL statement such as Select, Insert, Update.
Can any folk tell me where to run SQL statements in Oracle Database 11gR1 ?
Or
Can any folk provide a User Manual for Oracle DB 11gR1 ?You can run from a terminal or install an SQL client and connect from there.

Assuming you have an oracle OS user on Linux you can try typing sqlplus at you OS command prompt. Generally you will have a .bash_profile with setting like this:
# User specific environment and startup programs
PATH=$PATH:$HOME/bin
export PATH
# Oracle Settings
TMP=/tmp; export TMP
TMPDIR=$TMP; export TMPDIR
export ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle
export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0
#export DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
export TZ=CST6CDT
export ORACLE_SID=ORCL
export ORACLE_TERM=xterm
#export TNS_ADMIN= Set if sqlnet.ora, tnsnames.ora, etc. are not in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin
export NLS_LANG=AMERICAN;

Run sql statements in PL/Sql Developer without installing Oracle database?
Hi all,
I wish to ask is there any possibility to run Run sql statements in PL/Sql Developer without installing Oracle database?
Regards.Hello Jimmy,
this is the forum for the tool SQL Developer and, as the title says, *(Not for general SQL/PLSQL questions)*.
PL/Sql Developer is not an Oracle tool, but from allound allroundautomations.
And you need access to a database to run SQL statements. This does not need to be one installed by yourself.

Patterns to execute a SQL Statement from a Droplet (select)
Hi,
I need to perform a query on a table, Example: select * from ARF_QUERY "the database used is Oracle. I would like to know if the atg has some
standard method to perform this database connection and execute the SQL statement from a Droplet (select).
Thank.I dont think there is any generic droplet to run a select query directly against a table.
However, there are various lookup droplets available that run on the repositories.
Like /atg/targeting/RepositoryLookup droplet. you can run it for specific id or for all.
You might want to have a look at it in documentation of how exactly to use it.

Hi All,
Please let me know how to retrieve the SQL statement from ST05 output or how to know what is the field
browsed and what was the input in SE16 from ST05.
Thank you.
With Regards,
Gandhi SubramaniHi,
Go to ST05.
(1)- Activate Trace.
(2)- Run the desired T-Code for which you want to do the SQl Trace.
(3)- Go to "ST05" and deactivate Trace.
(4)- Then Press Display Trace.
(5)- Then POP will come. Just press Execute.
(6)- Your SQL trace will be displayed, with the table names and the Field names and the logic which is retevering data from specific table.

Extracting SQL statement from a Webi document's data provider using SDK.
Hi all,
Is it possible to extract the SQL statement from an existing Webi document's data provider using BO SDK? I've searched through the class library but haven't found any information on this yet. If you have done it, could you provide some guidance. Many thanks.I found the following Java code that might be of some help to you. I realize you are using .NET but this might push you down the right path.
The trick here is to use the Report Engine SDK to get the DataProvider of the DocumentInstance. Then, look at the SQLDataProvider to get your SQLContainer.
My apologies for the poor formatting. This didn't copy and paste over to the forums very well. I've cleaned up as much as I could.

How to store data into database by reading sql statements from text file
how to write java program for storing data into database by reading sql statements from text file
Step 1: Create a property file to add various queries.
Step 2: Read the properties file using ResourceBundle
Step 3: Use the jdbc to execute the query read from the property file.
So in future if you need to change query no need do any modifications in java program. But depends on how you use the property file. -

How to isolate the Sql Statement from Java Code
Hi
I Need to know that can we segregate the Sql Statements and convert them to Stored Procedures so as to isolate the Sql statements from Java Code.
So i have one static web page which uses four select Statements so what i want is to create a stored procedure encapsulating these queries. So that the Java Web Developer will simply call the Stored Procedure instead of using four different SQL Statements.
Suppose the developer has these four Statements
Select ename,empno,sal,job from emp;
select empno,ename,mgr from emp;
select deptno,dname from dept;
select emp.ename,emp.empno,emp.deptno,dept,dname fromemp,dept;
So can i encapsulate these four Sql Statements in one Procedure and the Web developer can call the Store procedure and dont need to write the Sql Statements in his code.
Can Anybody guide me how to write this Stored type of Store procedure.
Thankshttp://www.google.com/search?q=java+windows+registry
Next time, search yourself. It might be beyond your belief, but you're really, really not the first person to wonder about this. -
Exec SQL statement from BW to MS SQL
Hi Experts,
I need to execute sql statement from BW on MS SQL Server.
I want to do it in process chain. There is a so called ABAP Program Component.
How to implement such a program or function module that will execute on MS SQL Server an sql statement such as for instance:
"Create view SOME_VIEW as select * from XTABLE".
I have already configured database connection using DBCO transaction.
Waiting for response.
KrzysztofThanks, but that is not what I was asking for.
I just need to send some SQL statement from BW to MS SQL Server using ABAP program (exec sql or something like this).
Could you provide me a pattern of such an ABAP program?
The sql statement is not importent here, I have already extracted data from MS SQL to BW, I have configured dataflow, process chains and so on.
No I need to determine DELTA on MS SQL Server. I've got some ideas but I need to know how to send SQL statement from BW to MS SQL Server using ABAP program.
Please any help will be appreciated
