Run startup apps
how to run or stop startup apps in nokia 500
the only thing you can do is ensure that the apps you have installed aren't set to open on Startup of the phone (you can usually enable / disable this in the specific settings of the application itself)/.

STEPS TAKEN:
Logged into Mac for first time today.
Noticed a new individual file in Directory Library ".a.text". (Settings disply hidden system file/folders)
File contained only the text "--purge".
Meta data on file directed source to bash process run @ startup.
Attached History command output.
Disabled ARD for now.
SETTINGS:
All Sharing was Off.
Firewall was set to Block All Incoming Connections.
Home network with no other active users at time.
Upgraded to Mavs 10.9.2 last night.
Do not use any file sharing or remote access into Mac.
The SSH host attempts were my old Amazon EC2 instances.
Appears to start bitcoin app and few databases.
Worth noting I've been having tons of various issues last few months.
Thanks.

<POB> ENDI'm extremely unclear on exactly what's happening. You mention something about a script running at startup in your subject, but then never mention that again. What's going on there? Where are you finding that script?
That script would suggest someone playing a joke on you, by making your computer say "quack" every time you start up. That's not indicative of malware.
On the other hand, a hidden file as you describe is a common malware trick, though I'm not sure why it would only contain "--purge" - that isn't a complete command, as far as I know, and the purge command isn't likely to be used for malicious purposes anyway.
Still, you do have some indication that you're using Bitcoin-related apps, and there has been some Bitcoin malware that has appeared recently. See:
New CoinThief malware discovered
Note that the post on MacRumors that you refer to in your second post is almost six years old, and references a vulnerability that was closed later in 2008. It's completely irrelevant to any modern system. -
Hello folks,
I installed Jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 and migrated my application from the Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0.1 by following the wizard.
Now my application cannot run. The following is what I get:

Shared Variable Conflict with RT Startup App
I think I am running in circles trying to determine what my problem is. Please look at the screenshot I have attached.
I setup three different network shared variables (two in one library, the third in a second library) on my RT target. I have deployed them manually probably half a dozen times. I then build the executable, and tell it to make it a startup app.
I then created alias shared variables on my user computer. They are setup as PSP variables that I linked thru the dialog boxes NI provides. A sample URL of one of these variables is: \\169.254.0.2\rtDataRouter\Data
I deployed this library on my user computer. From what I was reading, I am not sure if that is the correct thing to do if I am having the RT target host the main variables (we want to be able to hook up multiple clients at remote locations, hence have the RT host them). So I tried it both ways, with the aliases deployed and without.
If everybody is still with me, when I run pure development environment, Labview 2009 SP1, deploys everything to the RT, I then run my local app, it says it is deploying items, and then it runs, shared variables seem to talk to no problem. Doesn't seem to matter if the aliases were deployed or not (I do have auto deploy turned off).
Next, I try deploying the RT startup app, it reboots, I hit the run arrow on local machine, and I get the conflict window! Again, I try manually deploying the libraries on both the RT and local machine, rebuilt the executable, reboot the RT, run the local app (still in development environment), and I get conflict window!
Part of me thinks, I am simply missing turning one thing on or off. From the tutorials on NI's site, I think I am in the ballpark, what am I missing???
My project is 99.99% done other than getting the executables done. Any insight and help you can give would be HUGE for me to get this out the door!!!

DS Open timeout in cRIO startup app
I have a cRIO application that upon startup opens a collection of Datasocket references to local NSV's. When running from the development environment everything works as designed. When I build and run as a startup app
then I get Error 56 Timeout on a few of the NSV's. The timeout is set to 10000ms so I am sure there is plenty of time. Despite the error messages, the DS references appear to be valid and I can read NSV data with them.
I am just ignoring the errors for now but would like to find an explanation.sachsm,
Are you using the DSC (Datalogging and Supervisory Control) Toolkit? There have been issues seen with timeouts assoiated when DSC is used with the RT module. If not, is there anything else you can offer about your code or your system to help us out here?

Enabling "Startup Apps" option in the "Change Action Center settings" window
Hi
I have Windows 8.1 Update Enterprise
64-bit.
I noticed that, in the "Change
Action Center settings" window, the
"Startup Apps" item is disabled.
How come? How do I enable it?
What is the purpose of this option?
Thanks
Bye
BalubetoAs per my understanding startup items are the programs/apps, shortcuts, folders, drivers, scripts etc that are set to run automatically at startup when a user signs in to Windows. Disabling this might cause system issues, so its probably enabled
and greyed out by default.

Sorry, that's not a very helpful or accurate answer. All the Action Center does is NOTIFY users. It doesn't disable anything. The startup items are still set to run automatically and can still be enabled or disabled through the Task Manager. And the question,
"how can I enable it" was not answered. -
At some point i've installed something and every 30 minutes or so I get an annoying popup window to ask me which do i want to connect with, wifi,3g, etc etc... I uninstalled the 2 i suspected causing this but they were not the ones...
So I googled and Googled until i could not google no more, I give up really either could someone tell me where the file i need to view/edit is, or point me in the direction of an application i can use to view my bootup/startup app list... I can see about 3 apps starting up after i boot the phone, there should only be 1!!!!
Thanks (some forum said it's an ini file, love'd to know where)Try best taskman from ovi store, or RamBlow, both will show you what's running and let you 'kill' them !
Good Luck

IMac suddenly working less- no sound, no startup apps, lag!
I have been using my iMac 27 inch for half a year, with no errors, no glitches, nothing unusual. Recently, however, after my keyboard's batteries went low, upon startup, the screen updated every half-second until logon, all startup apps don't open as they did and my sound is blank.
What I mean my blank sound is that firstly the icon in the menu bar for volume doesn't appear. Pressing any volume buttons results in a grey sound icon, all bars full and a circle-cross icon, signifying I have no sound. Plugging in my headphones in a port or taking them out does nothing, and my headphones work on my iPad, so I'm assuming the sound on Lion is bugged for me.
Opening Launchpad, Mission Control or switching desktops also results in extreme lag, too.
One more thing has happened, as well- X11.app's icon is the same as the default app icon in XCode.
Can anyone help me fix this?
Note- I am not afraid of Terminal commands, being gifted in Unix for years and moreso in Linux. I'm stumped by this though. It seems running
killall Dock && killall Finder
then restarting done the trick for me. Everything solved, no glitches.

Is autoconfig required to be run for apps password change
Is autoconfig required to be run for apps password change -- We are only changing APPS and APPLSYS passwords.
How to Change Applications Passwords using Applications Schema Password Change Utility (FNDCPASS or AFPASSWD) [ID 437260.1] -- does not mention anything about autoconfig.
Please clarify.
ThanksIt's mentioned in the document twice
1. For APPLSYSPUB/GUEST as you mentioned
2. Under "Verify the new password" which cover the apps/applsys passwords
If you search the doc for "AutoConfig" you will find it there.

Has anyone in this Forum had problems with installing and running Adobe apps on the new MacPro?
I have been trying to install Photoshop CS6 & CC and Acrobat Pro XI on my Mac Pro (late 2013). I keep getting a 'configuration' error message and wondered if the problem was wide spread.

Good to hear someone has had success. The lack of it here is frustrating and depressing.

I have AppleTV and Ipad2 running VJay app to my TV over a private cisco router disabled firewall but I keep loosing the video on my TV after a few minutes what can I do?
I also get this problem on my iPad, so probably not related to the AppleTV. On the iPad I restarted Airport Extreme this time, and then the iPad saw my Home Sharing.
So to recap, restarting the router or Airport Express allowed the iPad and AppleTV to see Home Sharing. Restarting AppleTV also allows AppleTV to see Home Sharing.
So does anyone have any idea?

I have 2 iphones4! Do I have to create one apple id for each device or I can have both in one apple id? I'm asking cause I'm trying to run findmyiphone app for both devices!
Here's what I do. My wife and I each have an iPhone. We each have our own Apple ID. I also have another totally separate Apple ID. The ONLY thing that one has been used for was to set up Find my iPhone for our phones and my iPad. There is no reason the MobileMe setting for find my iphone can't be something completely different from your regular Apple ID UNLESS you already use MobileMe, in which case the 2 conflict in ways I don't understand as I don't subscribe to it.

Hello all - have an HP Envy 4500, using the eprint centre, sched apps printing OK, but confused as to how to run the apps on demand. For example, HP Quick Forms. I can schedule, I can look at samples, but how does one print out a desired sheet such a sheet of graph paper on demand? I can't figure that one out, and also how does one post a comment. I don't see any button for that either. Another example is the App "Universal Crossword". I can schedule it and have them print, but how can I manually print one? So this applies to all the apps, how does one simply use them on demand instead of scheduling. Clickong on the app itself just gives the sample views.
Thanks for any help.
This question was solved.
View Solution.Hi harrc,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see that you have some questions about the apps you find in HP Connected.
To print a sample of any of the HP Quick Forms, you can print them on demand from the front panel of the printer. As for the remaining apps, there isn’t an on-demand option available. For reference I’ve included the Getting Started With HP Printables.
