Run time data types

Hello every body,
i want to create a run time data type CHAR_10
IS THERE ANY WAAY like
create data dataref type ('C').
this statement creates a data reference of type C
but can i specify CHAR_10
create data dataref type ('CHAR_10')??????

Hi,
  Try using the field-symbols..
  FIELD-SYMBOLS: <FS> TYPE ANY.
  DATA: V_CHAR(10) VALUE 'TEST'.
  ASSIGN V_CHAR TO <FS>.

  • Which is the best alignment for a Date-time data type (WPF)

    Hello,
    sorry If I'm asking this question in the wrong place (If you could help me where to ask it :) )
    I have read the Microsoft guidelines for Layout. Left and right alignment are briefly described... but I don't see anything for Date/Time data type? What is the best alignment for this type of data?
    Can you tell me where I can find the relevant information? Microsoft guidelines or other?
    We are using WPF.
    Thank you very much :)

    Welcome to the discussion area!
    +1) Will using the TC on a wireless network as a repeater half my connection speed while doubling my coverage?? In that case it might be worth it..+
    Unfortunately, the Time Capsule will only "extend" a wireless network if the network has been created by another Apple "n" router. So the Netgear would not be compatible with the Time Capsule for this purpose.
    If you could connect the Netgear and Time Capsule together using an ethernet cable, you would be able to create one large wireless network.
    +2) Do I have any reason to believe I could get better coverage using the TC as the Base Station and trying to virtually impossible task of setting up the Netgear as a bridge?+
    Not sure about "better coverage", but the Time Capsule would create dual band networks operating at both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz so faster devices could connect at 5 GHz for maximum speed and slower devices would connect to the 2.4 GHz band.
    In addition, if the Time Capsule connects directly to your cable modem, you could enable the "guest" network feature if you needed that function. (However, if the Time Capsule is configured in the network as a "bridge", the guest network feature cannot be enabled).
    On a quick glance, your Netgear router does not appear to be a simultaneous dual band device. If that's the case, you could configure it to expand either the 2.4 GHz band or 5 GHz band (assuming it will handle 5 GHz) for wider wireless coverage. But, the connection between devices would need to be via ethernet cable, and as you point out, the Netgear would need to configured as a "bridge" in this type of setup.
    If running the ethernet cable is simply not possible, take a look at a pair of ethernet powerline adapters to accomplish the same task using the AC wiring in your home to transmit the ethernet signal. While not as good as a straight ethernet cable, this type of connection would still yield better performance than wireless only, if the devices were compatible.

  • How to change at run-time the type of a step?

    Hi,
    How topic title, i need to know how change at run-time the type of a step. I have, i my sub-sequence, a step whose type must change at run-time based upon the occurrence of a condition. How can do it?
    Thanks.

    I need to do this: At verify of a condition, one specific step at the end of sequence must change from statement to numeric limit test and viceversa.
    However, is right to no writing self-modifyinf sequence  unless handle rece condition on step that i want change at run-time.
    Moreover i ask myself: If for change the type of a step i need first delete the substep and later create a new one relative to the step that I want, then it is better and make more sense to create dynamically the step that i would like to have depending on the condition that occurs, right?
    Thanks

  • Run time data binding via FormCalc/JavaScript+wrong text formating

    Hello Everybody
    I need to print a text block with company details depending on company code (different details for different codes). I tried to use this code for event "calculate":
    if ($record.LS_HEADER.BUKRS == "1000") then
    $ = $record.COMP_DETAILS_1000
    elseif ($record.LS_HEADER.BUKRS == "1000") then
    $ = $record.COMP_DETAILS_2000
    endif
    $record.COMP_DETAILS_1000, $record.COMP_DETAILS_2000 are elements from the form context which are linked to textmodules.
    This code works and it prints correct textmodules for different company codes. But the printed text is not formated like text in the textmodules. The most important thing here is that these texts are always printed as a single long string and I need paragraphs like in the textmodules. It's a problem... If I use a statical binding (without FormCalc programming) the text modules will be printed with correct formating.
    Using of checkbox "Allow Multiline Lines" hasn't helped here...
    Have you any idea how should I do the run time data binding?
    Thank you very much in advance!

    Hello,
    the important part is "If I use a statical binding (without FormCalc programming) the text modules will be printed with correct formating." That means you can get the text in the shape you want. Just do that. Get all the texts. Next use the JS/FC scripting to hide all but one text. You get only one text to display and you use static binding to get the proper text format.
    Hope this helps, Otto

  • Run time data source credentials in SUP

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to use run time data source credentials for a custom application which I developed for iphone. But during run time I get JCO error - Incorrect username/password. However if I use normal static connections then I am able to fetch data.
    Has anyone encountered similar issue with SUP ?
    Regards,
    Victor

    I can be wrong, but I will try to help you.
    Did you get this problem when you are trying to deploy the MBO?
    IF yes make sure that you are using same user/pass that you use in the back-end, usually the application uses the sup credencial {supAdmin/s3pAdmin}. You can use the openDS to create a new user <SUPInstall>.....\openDS\bat\control-panel.bat after you create a new user, and when you login in, user will be automatic linked to the device.
    and check if you have the latest JCO connector [dll's and jar's] placed in the right place.
    I hope I helped you.

  • Convert Data type from Oracle Data time string to SQL Date time data type

    I have a time stamp column pulled from oracle into a SQL server db table varchar datatype column.
    Now i want to change that column to date time.
    Following is the data present in the table:
    01-APR-11 02.15.00.026000 AM -08:00
    01-APR-11 04.15.00.399000 AM -08:00
    01-APR-11 06.15.00.039000 AM -08:00
    I want to convert this data into sql server datetime data type.
    Please advice.
    Thanks,
    Sam.
    I am unable to find the solution in other sites which is why I have posted it in Oracle forum for seeking solution.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Sam.

    Sam,
    How are you actually loading the data into SQL*Server - are you using something like an Oracle gateway, BCP or another Microsoft utility of some sort ?
    If you are using an Oracle problem then we may be able to help but if using a Microsoft utility then you should really follow up with Microsoft to know what format the data should be in to use a Microsoft utility.

    Mike

  • Time Data Type

    Hi,
    I am using Oracle Database 11.2.1. I have created a new column on a table to store just the time element in format (HH24:MI:SS) and selected data type 'TIMESTAMP' but I get the following error when inserting a record:
    insert into t values('08:45:00');
    ORA-01843: not a valid month
    Does the session need to be altered or a different data type required?
    Thanks

    You have to make it date type value by using to_date. like:-
    SQL> drop table t;
    Table dropped.
    SQL> create table t (col date);
    Table created.
    SQL> insert into t values(to_date('08:45:00','HH24:MI:SS'));
    1 row created.
    SQL> select * from t;
    COL
    01-JUL-13
    SQL> select to_char(col,'HH24:MI:SS') res from t;
    RES
    08:45:00
    {OR}
    SQL> alter session set nls_date_format = 'HH24:MI:SS';
    Session altered.
    SQL> select col from t;
    COL
    08:45:00
    SQL>
    NB:- No need of creating TIMESTAMP datatype column, DATE type column can store HH24:MI:SS format information.

  • Time Data Type when Exporting to Excel

    Hello,
    I have a report I wrote using crystal reports XI. There is a datetime field which I converted to a time field through the use of a formula and the time function.  When I right click on the field and view the data type it says time.
    However, when I export to excel the field comes up as a custom field.  How do I get it so that the exported field will appear as a time field in excel?
    Thank you for your help.

  • TIMS  DATA TYPE

    Hi friends

    Hi,
    Declare a variable
    <b>DATA: curr_time(6) type c.</b>
    Get current time into the variable by passing sy-uzeit to the variable i.e.
    <b>curr_time = sy-uzeit.
    </b>
    For further processing of time in HRS,MIN $ Sec format, you can <b>use offset concept</b> with the variable <b>curr_time.</b>

  • Date and Time data types

    I've read that there are limitations with EJB QL queries when dealing with Date and Time objects. Specifically, Ive read that its recommended that longs (milliseconds) should be used in EJB QL queries instead of java.sql.Date and java.sql.Time. Ive also read that, in the where clause, the operators >= and <= cant be used when comparing date or time objects. Is this accurate?
    If the first limitation is true, then does the date and time fields have to be represented as longs in the entity beans? and do the mapped columns (in the tables) have to be of numeric types for successfull synchronization?
    When using longs for dates and times, can the >= and <= operators be used in the where clause?

    Hi ,
    I am facing the same problem and my scenario is also same (BAPI's).
    So can you please tell me how you overcome this problem .

  • UPDATE SQL query using WHERE and a date/time data type... Multiple changes...

    I'm using the LabView Database Connectivity Toolset and am using the following query...
    UPDATE IndexStation
    SET Signal_Size=200
    WHERE 'StartTime=12:05:23'
    Now the problem is that this command seems to update all rows in the table IndexStation... Not just specifically the row where StartTime=12:05:23
    I have tries all sorts of {} [] / ' " around certain characters and column names but it always seems to update all rows...
    I've begun to use the SQL query tab in Access to try and narrow down as to why this happens, but no luck!
    Any ideas!?

    I completely agree about the Microsoft issue.
    But it seems no SQL based manual states that { } will provide a Date/Time constant.
    Is this an NI only implementation? Because I can't seem to get it to function correctly within LabView or in any SQL query.
    Chris.
    There is nothing about the database toolkit in terms of SQL syntax that would be NI specific. The database Toolkit simply interfaces to MS ADO/DAO and the actual SQL syntax is usually implemented in the database driver or database itself although I wouldn't be surprised if ADO/DAO does at times munch a bit with that too.
    The Database Toolkit definitely does not. So this might be a documentation error indeed. My understanding of SQL syntax is in fact rather limited so not sure which databases might use what delimiters to format date/time values. I know that SQL Server is rather tricky thanks to MS catering for the local date/time format in all their tools and the so called universal date/time format has borked on me on several occasions.
