Run-time error '-2147024894 (80070002)': in Word 2003

After installing Oracle BIP and attempting to use the add-in to login I get the following message: Run-time error '-2147024894 (80070002)': File or assembly name TBXDOUtilities, or one of its dependencies, was not found. I found another discussion about this from the past, and the general concept to fix this problem is to reinstall office, BIP, or .net framework 2.0. I first tried reinstalling BIP. No luck. I then tried repairing office, then uninstall/reinstall BIP again. No luck. I then removed office/rebooted/reinstalled office 2003 from the source disk (not our corporate package). I then removed dot net 3.5, 3.0, 2.0, and reinstalled dot net 2.0sp2. (It required me to remove all new versions to remove 2.0 to reinstall it). I tried BIP and then reinstalled it again. Still getting the same exact error. When I choose the log on option from BI pblisher I do have "starting .Net runtime" dialogue with a progress bar that sits at about 35% complete before I get the error. Is there anything else I could/should try to get this installed and working?

This problem is specific to word 2003. I installed word 2007 on an affected machine and it works fine. I had found an article that indicated an particular ms-office patch, kb907417, was required, but it is already installed on my machine. Another one indicated KB921566 was required, which was not on my machine, and I did install it. After rebooting I'm still getting the message.

Please re-install BIP desktop with the following steps.
    1. Uninstall BIP desktop from control->Add or remove programs.
    2. Open explorer and go to "C:\WINDOWS\assembly".
    3. Check if the assemblies which start with "TB" don't remain there.
    4. Please open the MS Word startup directory and check there is no file there. The directory is normally the following.
    XP:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
    Vista:
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP
    5. Open MS Word and check if you don't see the BIP tool bar.
-> If you see it, please move Normal.dot to another directory and try again.
    6. Please check that the OS user you use has an administrator privilege.
    7. Please go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs and check if the followings have been installed.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The issue is caused by a bug in Microsoft Visual Studio.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908002
Unforatunately, we were not aware of this issue, and our build system did not have this patch installed. As it seems all our test environments worked correctly with BI Publisher Desktop. We are checking if we can release a patch or find another work around.
The Microsoft site mentions the following work around:
Note This problem does not occur when you log on by using a Microsoft Windows user account that has restricted permission.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Run-time error for the chart  - TBUtilities

    Hello,
I'm trying to create a report template with the BI Publisher desktop plugin. The load of the xml file, the Table creation and PDF export work fine. When I want to add a chart to the template (Insert -> Chart...), I have a Microsoft Visual Basic Error:
    Run-Time error '-2147024894(80070002)':

    I use Word 2000 (9.0.8950 - SP3), .Net framework 2.0 and Java JRE 1.5.0_05.
I checked the other topic about this type of error but I didn't find any solutions...
Is there a patch to fix this error ???
    Thanks

Has anybody got an answer for this one, as it has just happened to me

  • SAP Gui 6.40 BeX Analyser problem (Run Time Error)

    Dear All
    Really need some help
We get the following error in EXCEL 2003 when running transaction rrmx from SAP easy access:
Run time error 91 Object variable or with block variable not set
When debugging we get the following error message:
    call pAddin.SetConnectionFromHandle(p_connectionObj).
We've rolled out the same package globally to all our users, some machines have this problem and some don't - which has been making this very difficult to resolve and troubleshoot.
We've tried patch level 29 of the GUI and this did not resolve.
I've read lots of threads relating to the .net framework and made sure all the service packs are installed, and also tried .net framework 2.0 and 3.0 - the problem still existed with both.
I'm really stuck and appreciate any guidance.
If we manually launch Analyzer (SAP BW 3.x) from the start menu, EXCEL and the BW add-in works fine... we only get the run time error when using transaction rrmx from SAP GUI.
    Please help!
    Thanks.

OK, so I've done the following - which DID work and i no longer get the RUN TIME error:
    -uninstalled SAPGUI
    -uninstalled Office 2003
-uninstalled all .net framework versions + updates.
-install .net framework 2.0 with SP1
    -install microsoft office 2003 + SP3
install sap gui 6.40 + patch level 29
However, if anyone out there has got an easier and quicker solution to this problem I'd REALLY appreciate it. I have got lots of our users with this problem and it took a long time to complete all the steps above.. there must be something easier to do to fix this...
    thanks for your help

  • Run-time error 5097 on Selection.InsertFile in Word 2013 macro

We have been running Word 2003 macros to generate large volumes of document files for 10+ years.
Now running the same code using Word 2013, we are getting Run-time error '5097' on this line of code:
    Selection.InsertFile filename:=pFileName
We have over 40 code sets that potentially call in 20,000+ Word document files. 98% of the time this code will work; but several files will not insert when this code attempts to execute.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Dawn Cox

    Hi Dawn,
Thanks for the detail information for this issue.
Since the file even can't be inserted manually, this issue is not relative to the code. To get more effective response, I would suggest that you reopen a new thread in
    Microsoft Community- Word or
    TechNet- Word forum.
And to help other communities to narrow this issue, I also suggest that you provide a sample file for testing.
    Hope it is helpful.

  • Unable to open attachments in my aol email account, i get a run time error. I am able to open them in ie. Also unable to open up a downloaded doc in word.

Since updating to firefox 15. whatever and now 16.0.1, i have been unable to open up any email attachments in my aol email account. I am able to view them via internet explorer. Initially the attachment will open (i can see it) but then a message of "run time error" comes up and when I close that window, the document goes blank. Also, today I clicked on a link via an aol news story and the same thing happened. It went to my firefox downloads, I was able to see part of the document and then that window with "run time error" message in it popped up. Help!!!!

This is a tip I got from ehow.com:
"While less common in Firefox, runtime errors can still occur on that browser. To prevent it from happening again, merely uninstall and reinstall Firefox on your computer."

  • Run time error '9' while installing BIP Desktop 10.1.3.4.1 for Windows

    Hi,
I've been getting 'run time error '9' Subscript out of range error while installing BIP Desktop.
I have MS Word 2003 and the laptop's OS is Windows XP SP3. I have searched the net and this forum for suggestions
and followed what was recommended (install .NET framework 2.0, make sure no MS Office processes are not running while
installing the software, Admin rights at Registry level on BI Publisher folder etc..) but no use.
This is a new laptop which I just received. On my existing laptop (which has similar configuration), I've installed BIP long time
ago and do not remember facing this error. If any one has come across this problem recently and was able to trouble shoot it,
please share with me how you were able to overcome the problem.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srini

    Hello,
Since I haven't heard from any one, I have opened a service request with Oracle support.
Support recommended that I down load a desktop publisher from edelivery.oracle.com but even that didn't help.
    Will keep you posted.

  • Template Builder not found followed by Run-time error '429'

    Hello,
I am having problems with BI Publisher.
I am running the application on a Windows 2003 server via a Citrix connection using Word 2007 (SP2) (multilingual French/English). On this forum, I have seen numerous threads about this type of error but none seems to be working for us.
    Symptoms:
I installed BI Publisher with admin rights (account A) and it works fine using this account
    I copy the TBCrosstab.dot, TemplateBuilder.dot, WordAnalyzer.dot in another User Profile "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP" (Account B)
All macros are enabled in account B
The Add-ins menu shows but when I click on Connection I get the Template Builder not found error followed by Run-time error '429'
I uninstall BI Publisher from Account A and install it using account B
It now works fine with account B but I get the error messages in account A...
Does BI Publisher work using multiple accounts on a single machine?
    Thanks

Did you find a solution to this problem?

  • Excel not even open - "cannot complete this task with available resources" and then VBA run-time error randomly appear!

Has anyone else seen the "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources" error message appear when Excel isn't even open? It keeps happening to me, and it's the strangest thing.
It seems like interacting with Excel files sometimes prompts it - for example, I just turned on my computer this morning, checked my email, and then opened Google Chrome to upload some Excel files. Excel hasn't been opened at any point since the machine
booted up, but this Excel error popped up while I was uploading the files.
Checked the Task Manager because I was baffled (not that this is the first time it's happened), and there's no Excel application running, just that silly error message. Choose OK on that error and a VBA run-time error message appears (not even sure if it's
    Excel VBA or Word/Outlook but I assume it's Excel - it's the good old 1004, application-defined or object-defined error).
Debug is greyed out, so it won't let me debug to see what the problem is. Choosing End brings the "Excel cannot complete this task with available resources" message back for one final performance.
This happens on a not-infrequent basis: Excel isn't open, and I randomly get this set of Excel errors: 1) "cannot complete task", 2) VBA run-time, 3) "cannot complete task" again. Then it's done, until the next time it happens. Weird.
I have 32-bit Windows 7 and Excel 2013/2010/2007/2003/2002 (I know!) but the issue only started after installing 2013. I also get the "cannot complete this task" message regularly when working in Excel (generally with Power Pivot or something legitimately
memory-hungry though), and restarting the application does the trick. I don't mind a heads-up when I'm gobbling up too many resources, but when Excel's not even open, it's a bit ridiculous. It's like I have a zombie Excel! Does interacting with Excel files
via upload/moving around Windows Explorer actually trigger some sort of Excel action in the background?
Any ideas would be most appreciated!! Thank you :)

    Hi,
As the memory error messages , it can be very generic and don't always identify the real cause of the issue. We may try to use the KB that Mr. KR mentioned above to troubleshoot it.
On the other hand, if the file is xls format, we may convert to the new file format .XLSM and test.
    http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Office_Productivity/Office_Suites/MS_Office/Excel/Q_28339883.html
Next, try to disable hardware graphics acceleration from File > Options > Advanced > Display section and disable Aero Themes (if you enabled) to check the results.
For the hangs and crashes issues, we may use ADPlus.vbs to troubleshoot:

  • Template builder - run time error '429'

    Hi all,
I'm getting a Visual Basic "run-time error '429' ActiveX component can't create object" in two separate environments. One is using Word 2007 the other Word 2003. The error occurs when I try to log into PI Publisher from Word. I can't find any info on this error. They are both 64 bit machines and I have the .NET 2.0 for 64 bit installed. Has anyone seen this?
    Thanks!
    Patrick

Correct, you do not need Oracle client software installed. But, where does Desktop get installed? Under C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop. One of the folders therein is DotNetInstallFiles. Then, consider this:
"With OLE DB .NET, applications can access the Oracle database from any .NET programming language.
The provider now supports 64-bit Windows natively, including Windows x64 and Windows Itanium."
I would venture to say that older versions of Desktop were probably not tested on 64-bit PCs because who uses Office on 64-bit Windows? Even in the certification guide, it states that all possible combinations of J2EE compliant engines, databases, OS, etc have not been tested. Digging into the BI installed files, you see ADO-related files.

  • Xml Publisher  run time error '5148'

    Dear
I am using XML publisher to convert data in excel from the oracle,so first i have generated data in xml by report builder and open xml file in Word document through >template builder >data > load xml data,it's find but i use insert menu and select all field then it give message which i have mentioned below,
    run time error '5148'
The number must be between 1 to 63
I think, is it column limitation because i have done this activity later but right now i have added more column so may be that's why it is showing the error but my client need to show data in excel,so how i can fulfill this requirement,is there any other solution ?
Please help on this regard. thanks in advance.

Just for future poor souls who may be pulling their hair out over the same issue, I eventually got to the bottom of this cryptic error message.
Do not try to import all your fields at once if your group has over 63 of them, as it will fail.
If you use the Insert Table option, and try to put all the fields in at once, it will give you a more meaningful message, and the one it SHOULD have given you in the first place, which is "A table cannot contain more than 63 columns".
So - Import them, a few at a time. Then move them all into one group and you're good to go.
