Run time error running Vision Builder AI inspection from TestStand
Hello,
I have TestStand 3.1 and Vision Builder for AI v2.6.1.
I would like to run from TestStand a Vision Builder Program or steps. For to achieve that, I have followed the instructions on Application Note 215, Running a Vision Builder AI Inspection from TestStand.
After installation, the option in TestStand InsertStep>NI Vision Builder AI>Inspection works properly.
But when try to execute a step with that inspection, and whatever operation of that one, the result is the following error:
Run-Time Error
Details: Error executing substep 'Post'.
An error occurred calling 'ExecuteStep' in '_NIVBAITestStandSteps' of 'NIVBAITestStandAPI'.
Error Code: -2147417851; User defined code. Possible System Error: The server sent an exception.
At this point really I don´t know what to do, and I don't find any extra help apart of application note.
I will appreciate some suggestion.
Gonzalo.
Hello,
I've found some more information that may help. Since these TestStand steps are simply call a DLL with an exported ActiveX API, path issues may exist. In fact, the overwhelming number of times this error appears, paths seems to be the case. I am not sure why the error is an indication of a path issue, but that seems to be the case. I would recommend that you would reregister the DLL, this time in the same directory as the example sequence. To do this:
- Unregister the current DLL by going to Start Menu>>Run, and typing: regsvr32 /u NIVBAITestStandAPI.dll
- Move the DLL from the system32 folder to the folder in which the example sequence is saved.
- Reregister the DLL from the run command (regsvr32 <folder path>\NIVBAITestStandAPI.dll)
- Restart TestStand if it is open
I apologize for not having any concrete answers, but this one is proving tough without me being able to replicate the issue.

Run time error when trying to import bookmarks from firefox
When trying to import bookmarks from Firefox to Safari I get the following error message: "Run Time Error. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way." Safari does not function anymore and I have to close it. Can somebody help me? I am using a PC with Windows 7.
In the Bookmarks Manager (Library) there is a toolbar with the Back and Forward button and three other buttons (Organize, Views, Import & Backup).
* The first (gear) button is the Organize button with basic edit menu items for bookmarks
* The second button is the Views button that allows to change the sort order for viewing purposes (doesn't sort permanently).
* The third (star) button is the Import & Backup button that allows to backup and restore a JSON backup and import and export an HTML backup and import bookmarks from other browsers.
Hover each button to see the tooltip or click each of them to see what they do.

Run-time License for Vision builder
HI
I have created a VBAI file for my inspection in, but now I want to transfer the inspection LabVIEW and build an exe to run the application.
Now for running that application do I require a NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection Run-Time License or a NI Vision Development Module Run-Time License.
Thanks,
Ninad Regundwar
Junior Engineer | ARAV Technologies | www.aravtech.comInstead of migrating to LabVIEW, you might want to consider automating Vision Builder from LabVIEW and running your inspection by using the VBAI API.
Check out the examples located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Vision Builder AI 2013\API Examples\LabVIEW Examples.
The VBAI API allows to start a VBAI engine, open and run an inspection and retrieve images and results for each step.
When using this method, if you're running the LabVIEW program on the same machine VBAI is installed, you do not need to purchase the VBAI runtime, neither the Vision Development Module Runtime (unless you wish to process further the image returned by VBAI.
If you need to deploy that LabVIEW application on a different machine, then you'll need to purchase a VBAI Runtime license.
If you choose instead to migrate the inspection to LabVIEW, then you will need to purchase a full license of Vision Development module for your development machine (the code generated uses Vision Development Module VIs).
If you choose to build the resulting code into a LabVIEW application and deploy it on a different machine, you will need a Vision Development Module Runtime License for the deployment machine (but not a VBAI license).
Migrating the code to LabVIEW is recommended only in cases where you need to modify the code generated by VBAI. The code generated is indeed a lot more complex than using the VBAI API that I described in the first option.
Hope this helps.

I also discovered that dragging the user control onto my user interface doesn't allow alternate activation.
( I actually tried stopping and then starting but the result was the same )
Calling the routines as indicated in the header comments also gave some hiccups ( I had to remark some code to get the system working progrtammatically.

Template Builder not found followed by Run-time error '429'
Hello,
I am having problems with BI Publisher.
I am running the application on a Windows 2003 server via a Citrix connection using Word 2007 (SP2) (multilingual French/English). On this forum, I have seen numerous threads about this type of error but none seems to be working for us.
Symptoms:
I installed BI Publisher with admin rights (account A) and it works fine using this account
I copy the TBCrosstab.dot, TemplateBuilder.dot, WordAnalyzer.dot in another User Profile "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP" (Account B)
All macros are enabled in account B
The Add-ins menu shows but when I click on Connection I get the Template Builder not found error followed by Run-time error '429'
I uninstall BI Publisher from Account A and install it using account B
It now works fine with account B but I get the error messages in account A...
Does BI Publisher work using multiple accounts on a single machine?
ThanksDid you find a solution to this problem?

Run-time error "CONVERSION_CODEPAGE_UNKNOWN" occurred in BW SapNetweaver.
Today I have problem with this error dump: Run-time error "CONVERSION_CODEPAGE_UNKNOWN"
I got this problem from rspc chain manager but also from another place as place a filter on table VARI.
I suspect that this include "IMPORT_VARIANT_STATIC" got problem of the (Include)

This is first time that I got this error.
I think problem was linked to VARI tables and include IMPORT_VARIANT_STATIC in this program RSDBSPVD

Run time error while Creating IDN and Inbound Delivery
Hi All,
I am getting Run time error while creating Inbound Delivery Notification from Inbound Queue and Inbound Delivery from IDN
After debugging i come to know that system is looking for Patch Level SAPKNA7026 but in my system Patch is upto SAPKNA7022
Is there any OSS notes available to deactivate/resolve this run time error ? I tried 0001798794 Deactivation of hierarchical access functionality but system is still giving me run time error
Regards,
P@MHi Agrawal
As you are getting run-time error after entering the sold to party and material and the error is in SAPLV61Z ,
close the session for sometime and open again and then create sales order and then enter sold to party and material and then check wheather you are getting or not. If you are still facing the problem then take the help of the ABAP & BASIS consultant's.

How to display "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" dialog?
I'm learning how to develop an IVI-C specific driver using LabWindows/CVI. When I run my function from its function panel and it returns an error, I would like to display a dialog with both the error code and error message (as opposed to simply returning an error code on the function panel). This would save the user from having to call Prefix_error_message() to translate the error code to its error message. NI-DCPower driver is a good example of this behavior (see attached error dialog). How do I show the "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" dialog? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ErrorDialog.png 8 KBHi Shawn,
Thank you for replying to my post. The checkErr is just an error handling macro defined in ivi.h to goto Error: tag when the function returns a non-zero value. I have been using the checkErr macro (as well as viCheckErr and other macros) in my driver.
Using the same hp34401a specific driver as an example, please allow me to explain my question in more details:
Let's take the hp34401a_close function as an example. It is a simple function with only a few lines of code:
When the hp34401a_close function is run from its front panel using an invalid session handle (e.g. "8" in this screen capture):
You will get three "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error" popup dialogs, one from each of the IVI library functions that it calls: Ivi_LockSession, Ivi_UnlockSession, and Ivi_Dispose. However, there is no "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error" popup dialog from the hp34401a_close itself.
My IVI-C specific driver is behaving identical to the hp34401a specific driver.
In comparison, if run niDCPower_close function from its front panel using an invalid session handle (using the same "8" in this screen capture):
You will only get one "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" from the niDCPower_close function itself:
I think the behavior of niDCPower driver is much better than the hp34401a driver. It replaces the three "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error" popup dialogs from the IVI library with a single "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" popup dialog from the driver function itself. I would like to do the same thing with my driver but have not figured out how to display a "Non-Fatal Run-Time Error In Function Panel" dialog. Thanks in advance for your help! -
Run-Time errors using DAQmx and Borland C++ Builder 5.0
I've written a simple program on MS Visual C++ 6.0 to test my PCI-6014 board and it works fine.
I copied the code to Borland C++ builder 5.0 and had some linker problems with the .lib files that where solved with borland's "coff2omf".
Now I've been getting run-time errors when I use the function DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan()... The error code is -50251: "The specified software component is not available. The component was not loaded".
But I'm sure that the code is right, since it works fine on MS Visual C++ 6.0!
That the part of the code where I'm getting the error:
iErro = DAQmxCreateTask("", &thTask);
iErro = DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan(thTask, "Dev1/ai0", "", DAQmx_Val_Diff, -10.0, 10.0, DAQmx_Val_Volts, NU
LL);
Thanks for the help,
MarceloHello
Borland enables certain types of exceptions by default which are initially disable in MSVC. You will need to refer to the documentation for Borland Builder on how to disable floating point exceptions. I believe you can do it by adding the following statement to your initialization code, but you should double check this:
_control87(MCW_EM, MCW_EM);
These exceptions get thrown because we are doing some floating point initialization underneath. This is not an indication of a bug or a problem of any sort. Apparently you have to this for alot of libraries to work correctly with Borland (OpenGL etc...)
Hope this helps

Run time error when trying to complete a build
Hi,
I'm running a copy of CS5 Master Collection on a Windows 7 64 bit PC and using Encore to build an interactive DVD. I have been using the program for about a year and had no problems however this week I have been unable to complete a build.
When I set the program to run a build, it spends a long time (over an hour) building motion menus, then moves on to 'Transcoding' and at some point in this process I will get a "C++ Run Time" error message and I am forced to shut down the program and start again.
I have tried building both a DVD Disk and a DVD image but both have the same result. I have also set the assets files to 'Dont transcode' in the project bin however this does not make any difference.
Can anyone suggest anything else I could do?
Thanks
ChrisHi,
Many thanks for the advice. I wanted to give you a bit more information.
I have just attempted another build using 'Run as Administrator' ( to rule it out) however it has come up with the same message at the same point.
The message is as follows:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:C:\...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
To answer your questions: I am not using Dynamic Link or Premiere Pro for this project. The video files I have imported were created in either 3D Max or Aftereffects. These files were rendered as lossless AVI's and then we used Sorensen Squeeze to convert them all into DVD native MPEG2 files. The audio files we are using were converted to DVD native audio files (MPEG2 audio) in Aftereffects.
We did this in an effort to ensure a high standard of quality.
Regarding the kind of files - we are giving encore the MPEG2 video files, MPEG2 audio files and PSD menus.
One other thing to mention - the error comes up at the same point each time I try a build. The progress screen on encore says 'Transcoding' however we have set all of the files to 'Don't Transcode' - this seemed strange to me however I could be wrong.
We do have some long file names in the project so I may have to amend these however I wanted to see if you could suggest anything else first.
Thanks again,

Segment Builder - run time error
Hi All,
I am working in sgment buillder in CRM 6.0, I created TG and when i try to open it in GUI it throws run time error "CREATE_DATA_UNKNOWN _TYPE " . i understood this is ABAP runtnime error.
Kindly give your valuable suggestions.
Warm regards,
Sathish Prabhu.RHello,
Check The reason for the dump could be because of the custom badi implementation. check your badi implementation for CRM_MKTTG_SEG_MEM_EX.
It has two methodds
IF_EX_CRM_MKTTG_SEG_MEMBER_EX~GET_TG_MEMBER_STRUCTURE and
IF_EX_CRM_MKTTG_SEG_MEMBER_EX~GET_TG_MEMBER_STRUCTURE_REL
For these methods, check whether you are passing the structures.
Thanks

Template builder - run time error '429'
Hi all,
I'm getting a Visual Basic "run-time error '429' ActiveX component can't create object" in two separate environments. One is using Word 2007 the other Word 2003. The error occurs when I try to log into PI Publisher from Word. I can't find any info on this error. They are both 64 bit machines and I have the .NET 2.0 for 64 bit installed. Has anyone seen this?
Thanks!
PatrickCorrect, you do not need Oracle client software installed. But, where does Desktop get installed? Under C:\Program Files\Oracle\BI Publisher\BI Publisher Desktop. One of the folders therein is DotNetInstallFiles. Then, consider this:
"With OLE DB .NET, applications can access the Oracle database from any .NET programming language.
The provider now supports 64-bit Windows natively, including Windows x64 and Windows Itanium."
I would venture to say that older versions of Desktop were probably not tested on 64-bit PCs because who uses Office on 64-bit Windows? Even in the certification guide, it states that all possible combinations of J2EE compliant engines, databases, OS, etc have not been tested. Digging into the BI installed files, you see ADO-related files. -
Xml Publisher run time error '5148'
Dear
I am using XML publisher to convert data in excel from the oracle,so first i have generated data in xml by report builder and open xml file in Word document through >template builder >data > load xml data,it's find but i use insert menu and select all field then it give message which i have mentioned below,
run time error '5148'
The number must be between 1 to 63
I think, is it column limitation because i have done this activity later but right now i have added more column so may be that's why it is showing the error but my client need to show data in excel,so how i can fulfill this requirement,is there any other solution ?
Please help on this regard. thanks in advance.Just for future poor souls who may be pulling their hair out over the same issue, I eventually got to the bottom of this cryptic error message.
Do not try to import all your fields at once if your group has over 63 of them, as it will fail.
If you use the Insert Table option, and try to put all the fields in at once, it will give you a more meaningful message, and the one it SHOULD have given you in the first place, which is "A table cannot contain more than 63 columns".
So - Import them, a few at a time. Then move them all into one group and you're good to go.
