Runclient gives the following error message :

Dear all,
please help as i am banging my head against the monitor trying to figure all these little things out. Currently, I am working through the j2ee tutorial. This uses the deploytool to package and deploy all files. however, when i try to run runclient from the command line, i get the following error message :
Application threw an exception:java.io.IOException: converterApp.ear does not exist
I cannot see wjy this should happen as the file converterApp.ear definately does exist. I have also added the application client file to the APPCPATH environment variable (as the tutorial instructs).
Any help would be much appreciated

r u sure that it's "converterApp.ear" and not "ConverterApp.ear " ..

PPC, also known as PowerPC has not existed on Macs since the beginning of 2006. Apple made a bridge software and included it with Mac OSes until 10.6.8 known as Rosetta that would allow you to run software written for the PowerPC Macs. 10.7 and later can't run that bridge software. You have one of several options:
Install 10.6 retail on a USB Flash drive, and run that application while booted from there.
Find an update designed for 10.7 or later of the software.
Find a combination of Virtualbox or Paralllels that can legally run a version of 10.6 side by side with your 10.7 software.
Run Windows on your Mac with Virtualbox or use CrossOver that requires no Windows to run a Windows version of your application.
Your Mac is an iMac Intel. I will ask a moderator redirect your thread to the 10.7 forum, and no action is needed on your part.

I've done all of the above suggested sign in methods, and yet ibooks gives me the following error message "This Apple ID cannot be used for the iTunes Store."

Found this in the forums here, it works.
"OK...I think I have found a solution. In settings, select tunes & app store. click on Apple ID> View Apple ID>Payment Information. It appears it is not saving or requiring payment information to be updated. This worked for me."

Restart PC
Uninstall iTunes and attempt to reinstall
Verify that I am signed in as an administrator
Download and save iTunes64Setup file, right-click, and run as Administrator
Disable Norton antivirus software
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I need to update my iTunes and my iPhone 3GS to the latest version and evertimes I click on "update" I get the following error message displayed - "cannot open URL". I have checked the permissions on my windows firewall and iTunes is not blocked. Windows Vista or Windows 7
If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, there are two methods to determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version. If one does not work, try the other.
Method 1: View System window in Control Panel
Click Start, type system in the Start Search box, and then click system in the Programs list.
The operating system is displayed as follows:
For a 64-bit version operating system: 64-bit Operating System appears for the System typeunder System.
For a 32-bit version operating system: 32-bit Operating System appears for the System typeunder System.
Method 2: View System Information window
Click Start, type system in the Start Search box, and then click System Information in thePrograms list.

Is this music purchased back in DRM days? I don't actually have any iTunes music so I can't test with my iTunes 7.5, but I know that without iTunes 10 you cannot even connect to the store anymore. I wouldn't think that would require an active connection to the store all the time, otherwise how could you play music on a computer in the middle of nowhere? Set the permissions for Everyone in the folder in which CCPackager created, to "Read/Write" enabled. This is strange since there is only an administrator account on the Mac (and that account already has read/write), but it seems to resolve the issue.

Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that.
