i set up a arch32 in arch64 by "Arch64 Install bundled 32bit system".and the firefox worked fine now,but how to type other's language (like chinese) in it?

Flash media (youtube, pandora, etc) scans thru, does not play media. 32bit Firefox/IE

When I try to play a videos or music from site like Youtube, Pandora, Bandcamp, or anything with a flash player, the media seems to just scan thru at the rate it can be buffered, which is faster than the play speed. No audio with play, sometimes screen shots with flash. Any fix?
But when I go to a site like http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/completion/aih/?exitcode=0, the flash video plays fine.
I am running XP SP3 32bit with both Firefox (10.0.2) and IE (8.0.6001.18702)

No sound in java applets in 32bit firefox with bin32-jre plugin.

I got sound in flash, but not in java applets. Is this a known issue? Any workarounds?

I should probably make a wiki article (or ad to the Java wiki article) about this, since it seems to come up quite often (especially on Ubuntu forums, actually). The only good solution I've found is to use Pulseaudio, and rename the java executable to java.bin, and make a script called java in the same folder, and put this in the script:
#!/bin/sh
padsp /opt/java/jre/bin/java.bin "$@"
By the way, the path to the java executable is /opt/java/jre/bin/ I've tried using the same method with plain ALSA by using aoss, and it works sorta, but it causes random crashes of Java, so that's a no go, have to use Pulse.

FLASH PLAYER 10.1 does not work on my 32bit browser

the newest version of FLASH PLAYER 10.1 would not work on my 32bit FIREFOX browser. so I installed flash player on a 32bit VERSION of internet explorer. it worked fine for a few days till ADOBE asked me if i wanted to update my player. NOW IT DOES NOT WORK ! ! ! NOW IT DOES THE SAME "GREEN FLASHING BLANK SCREEN THING" THAT IT DOES ON MY FIREFOX BROWSER ! ! ! WHAT GIVES ? ! ? ! ? !

Hello I have a Dell inspiron 6400 computer with window's home vista and with the latest standard Internet explorer. i was enjoying the fact that i could watch Youtube and other such sites until i was prompt to downlaod the latest version (10.1) flash player. which like anyone else I did, but not the mcfee anti virious as it would be inconflicsion with Norton anti virious.
Now when i go to view a youtube etc I just get a blank or black screen.
Please how can i rectify this problem

Firefox will not start after interrupted update to 5.0

I was updating Firefox from version 3.6 (I think) to 5.0. Simultaneously I had done a update on Windows that seemed to have stopped. The update of Firefox had also come to a stop. As I remember it the installation was complete, and I was attempting to start the program, when Firefox was checking compatibility with installed plug-ins and so forth.
The Windows updates installed fine afterwards but after several reinstalls of Firefox, I still can't seem to get it to start.
There is no error message or notification at all when trying to start Firefox.
One processes is created, staying steady at 50% CPU and 26 404 K memory.
If i try to open another instance of Firefox I get a process that takes 0% CPU and about 1 844 K memory.
Summary:
Firefox fails to start after interrupted update to 5.0 from 3.6.
There is no error message.
Firefox never starts (and the process never shuts down), just shows in the Task Manager under Processes steady at 50% CPU and about 26 000 K memory (I've seen it do this for at least 20 minutes, before terminating it).

The ''real issue'' is what is going on. On one machine the update process works, but on my other machine it does not.
The machines are identical IBM T60s with Windows XP.
This is a real mystery, as well as being annoying.
A clue or suggestion any one?

Nope - you need the 32bit Java to go with the 32bit Firefox if you want Java to run

Why Do I Have Multiple Versions of Adobe Flash Plugins in FireFox

Hello,
I usually have 2 versions of Adobe Flash plugins installed in Firefox at the same time: the most recent version and the prior version which remains behind after an update. I usually disable the older version but sometimes this also affect the updated version leaving me without Flash capability in FireFox.
This week I updated FireFox's Adobe Flash plugin to 12.0.0.43 but was surprised to discover the 2 prior Flash versions also remained. Now Firefox had 3 versions of Adobe Flash plugins. I discovered the Adobe Flash uninstaller and uninstalled all Flash from my computer. Surprisingly when I reinstalled Flash player in FireFox, again 2 versions were installed: 12 and 11. I attempted to use the uninstaller on FireFox alone but it did not recognize the older Flash plugin, only the updated version 12.
The recent Adobe Flash update, version 12, is a 'Critical Security' update. Therefore, I am a bit anxious to resolve this issue. I hope you can assist me with this issue.

I might have thought the uninstaller would have found and deleted the old FlashPlayer. Maybe it was a custom install and in an odd location. (I suppose another possibility is that registry entries are wrong).
Try totally uninstalling FlashPlayer using the Windows Control panel, before re-installing. Then check with the FlashPlayer uninstaller before reinstalling again.
Note whilst doing this that Windows Internet Explorer has its own FlashPlayer plugin that is separate. You will need to reinstall both the Fx fox & IE plugins afterwards. Also note that for 32bit Firefox you will need the 32 bit FlashPlayer.

Why does Firefox run slower on Wondows 7 64bit?

Ok so I just totally rebuilt my system but instead of reinstalling Windows 7 32bit I decided I wanted to run a 64bit version instead. But when I ran 32bit Firefox was my fastest browser and now that I have a 64bit its in 2nd place to IE9 beta. So was just wondering really if there was a 64bit edition of Firefox that I'm not able to find.

32 bit Firefox Segmentation fault on 64 bit host

I'm running CentOS 5.2 x86_64 (64 bit). I've done may
installs and got flash working using a 32bit firefox.
This is a newly installed host and I have a 32 bit firefox
installed yet flash 10 always causes a segmentation fault when I
access a web page that has flash content.
strace on firefox shows:

Yes, you can install 32-bit client software, as long as you use a separate ORACLE_BASE and ORACLE_HOME to do so.

Firefox and AnyConnect 3.1

Is anyone have issues getting AnyConnect 3.1 to work with Firefox on Windows 8. I have upgraded the client on the router and tested vs. OSX Safari and Firefox on Win 7 32 bit. All works fine. The issue seems to be on Win 8 and Firefox 15. Java starts and then hangs after it launches the Java Applet.
I have seen some previous discussions on this and the recommendation was to go up to 3.1 on Win 8. Another fix was to go into the Java Control Panel and uncheck Enable Blacklist revocation check. Does not seem to help. The webvpn pages gets to the following:
"Web-based installation was unsuccessful. If you wish to install the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client, you may download an installer package."
I have manually installed and still no go. I have double checed the plugins in Firefox to make sure that Java is enabled - it is. This cropped up after upgrades to Java. The JRE is Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_07-b10).
On the infosec side, Win 8 is running MS Sec. Essential (Windows Defender on 8).
Anyone have any ideas?

Just a little bit more info after some more experimentation. I have a VM with Win 7 (32bit), Firefox 11 and Java SE7U1. Tested AnyConnect and it worked. Upgraded Firefox to V15. AnyConnect stopped working. Updated Java to SE7U7. Retested and AnyConnect worked. Went back to the Win 8 machine - same version of Java (SE7U7) as on Win 7 machine. Firefox is 15 (x86 en-US) also. Anyconnect does not work,

We currently do not support windows 8. Developers might start working on it once the final release of windows 8 comes out. We also have some internal enhancement requests filed for it but currently there is no ETA for this.

On two computers with ubuntu 12.04 & firefox 15, firefox sync does not work

I have three computers that all use ubuntu 12.05 and firefox 15.0
I cant nake firefox sync work, although in eralier days it was flawless. I cant figure out whether the syncing up or syncing down is the problem. Is there any way of knowing what is in the contents of the sync cloud?
I have tried all the remedies posted on the firefox sync site

It is NOT officially recommended to use outdated versions of Firefox, as they will be insecure. (Obviously many users will be able to make their own decisions on the risks and consequences, but others looking for quick fixes may read this thread later)

[SOLVED]32 bit firefox on 64 bit arch

I want to use flash but from the output error message it looks as though flash could not be compatible with 64 bit firefox. I would like to know how to get 32bit firefox from the repositories or is there some way to run in compatibility mode with a 32bit option. Thanks.

ATTENTION MOZILLA DEVELOPERS!!!! I have had numerous issues all occuring within 24-48 hours,The latest is location/address bar not working completely! Who has solutions and fixes that actually work???

Windows 7 32bit Firefox 3.6.1.1 .... I really liked Firefox until recently!!!!
I'm not even going to explain all the problems I have had in the last 2 days, but i will tell you i have read so many forums and have done A LOT of fixing, 8 hours worth!! So before someone suggests for me to try a common fix I have done almost all things like. 
Disable extensions 
Disabled/Remove add ons 
Tried all in safe mode 
Deleted files in Firefox Profile 
Renamed files in Firefox Profile 
I have done almost everything except remove Firefox and use a different browser. 
What gets me most is this site (Mozilla support) is the least helpful!! i have found solutions that worked off of Non Mozilla forums!! 
Ok here goes...... 1. Auto complete works in location/address bar, when I click ENTER on keyboard or click the blue arrow in address bar NOTHING HAPPENS!!! I can go to bookmarks click on one and it will go right to the page! It's like the address bar is dead! 2. I have NO search engines in the search bar located right next to address bar, the only solution I found for that called for typing commands in the address bar, which i can do but it wont do anything!!! 
Please keep in mind I did a full Google search on these problems and have found that a lot of people have the same issues regardless of Firefox versions or Operating systems!! 
This is my last attempt to get accurate and proven solutions/fixes to these problems before I wash my hands of Mozilla, I'm sure someone will tell me to just do it!!! 
I am hoping to get knowledgeable responses to this post!!

You can locate the current [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] this way:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory > Open Containing folder
If the 11.01 & 11.02 are empty backups then make sure that create a backup of the other .json backups elsewhere as soon as possible to avoid losing backups that may still work.
The other profiles appear to have older bookmarks. You can check the file compatibility.ini in a profile to see which version of Firefox last used that profile.
A possibility is to create a fourth profile to test each of the JSON backups and check which bookmarks they store. If you open that profile with the -no-remote switch then you can copy and paste bookmarks from one profile (instance) to another profile. Both profiles need to be open at the same time to do that.

Adobe flash player - webcam bild verpixelt,wenn ich sende

nun ich habe seit etwa einem Jahr ein Problem mit dem Adobe flash player.Bin schon am verzweifeln und hoffe dass jemand hier eine Idee hat was ich noch tun könnte.
Mein Problem:
Ich kann mit meinem Adobe flash player ohne Probleme Inhalte aufrufen in deutlicher und guter Qualität. Mein Flash Player wird ordentlich erkannt und in neuesten firefox,internet explorer oder chrome gut wiedergegeben.
Sobald ich aber mit den flash player meine eigene webcam aufrufe möchte mit einem web browswer wird mein eigenes Bild ordentlich erkannt UND ist sehr verpixelt/undeutlich.
Mein aktuelles System:

Internet Explorer 9 in 32bit
Firefox 10
Google Chrome 16

Was ich bereits versuchte:
- in den flash Einstellungen schon alles mögliche ausprobiert..auch die Hardware Beschleunigung aktiviert und deaktiviert.
Dort fiel mir aber etwas seltsames auf....wenn ich auf mein webcam bild recht klicke und versuche die qualität zu verstellen (steht auf Hoch) sehe ich nicht wirklich ein Unterschied zwischen Hoch und Niedrig..
- hab kaspersky komplett deaktiviert, Neustart ohne dass kaspersky aktiv war ..ohne Erfolg
. in den webrowswer alle relevanten Einstellungen versucht ..ohne Erfolg
- meine logitech webcam ausgetauscht zu Test Zwecken mit einer anderen webcam von Microsoft,weil ich dachte es liegt an logitech
- Zugriffs Berechtigungen in der windows Registrierung überprüft..alles ok dort ..also wieder ohne Erfolg
- mein DSL Router ausgetauscht und die Firewall auch dort deaktiviert..ohne Erfolg
- dass DSL Kabel komplett erneuert..auch wieder ohne Erfolg
- hatte ich mir einen neuen Computer mit dem aktuellen Betriebsystem angeschafft ( hatte vorher Vista 64bit)..die Installation in Standard gelassen und den aktuellsten flash player installiert weil ich dachte es liege vielleicht an einer anderen Software ....jedoch auch wieder das selbe Problem..brachte kein Erfolg
- die Grafikkarte wurde ausgetauscht beim PC Wechsel ...und wieder nichts
- den Adobe flash player mehrmals ordentlich deinstalliert mit Hilfe vom ADOBE Deinstallations Programm
- mein computer arbeitsbereich nach störenden geräten überprüft
- die Webcam USB Steckplatz öfters gewechselt zum Test
- an meinem laptop mit intergriertet webcam und vista 32 bit geht es wie es sollte...hmm..jedoch nicht bei meinen grossen rechner
Was auch wichtig wäre zu erwähnen, wenn ich meine webcam über die logitech software aufrufe oder der Many Cam Software wird mein Bild glasklar wiedergegeben.
In skype oder yahoo messenger sehe ich mich selbst auch deutlich ohne verpixelung..meine freunde klagen dor auch nicht über ein deratiges bild wie ich es sehe sobald ich über einen web rowser sende. Mit dem Adobe Flash Media Live Encoder wird übrigens meine webcam auch deutlich wiedergegeben.
Das eigenartige ist, dass ein neues Betriebsystem und Computerwechsel mit anderer Hardware kein Erfolg brachte.
Ich googelte bereits wochenlang doch ich fand keine annähernd ähnliches Problem irgentwo.
Dachte ja auch schon dass es am 64 bit windows sytem liegen würde, doch der flash player ist ja auch dafür inzwischen tauglich. Oder sollte das windows 64bit system von vista und window 7 doch schuld sein ??
hab' mal zwei snapshoots von einer webcam test seite gemacht, damit ihr das problem selbst sehen könnt.
Es ist sicherlich kein weltdrama, doch es stört mich und es nervt mich
Sooo..nun hoffe ich, das irgendwer vielleicht eine zündende idee hat, was da falsch läuft.

2 Items - Pre 2 - Google Calender not connect & Recovery Woes!

Have 2 Issues...
One is supposed to being worked on for a solution, being unable to log into new Palm Pre 2, a week old, that cannot import my Profile from my Pre 1, with maybe hundreds of Pounds Paid Apps.
Second, whilst I wait for Palm to call back, again, I have a new profile to keep me going, however, my GOOGLE CALENDER IS NOT WORKING in Palm Pre 2 and although Googlemail lists under Accounts for Calender, in one area, It DOES NOT APPEAR IN THE OPTIONS TO MAKE IT A DEFAULT CALENDER. Only Yahoo, Palm, are available to set for default creation of calender. The Google is Ticked/Checked with all options under accounts, including Calender, and Googlemail works fine with Mail, Contact and IM... I used Google Calender and Contacts for a year on the Pre 1, but does not, now, on a new temporary new profile whilst waiting for my main profile to be fixed. Pre was 2.0.0, but updated to 2.0.1, with doctor, but still not working on the third profile...
I set Yahoo Calender as default, which is a pain, as awaiting Palm fixing my profile, so cannot be saved on temporary profile palm, but Yahoo. Yahoo website is a mess and cannot use it to create appointments, likely a hangup from using Windows 7 64bit Premium, and Firefox, Internet explorer, Opera, all do not like Yahoo Calender website at all.....
Please get me my Google calender back.
With the Profile recovery thing, I never talked about the Calender Google problem. The profile thing i spent maybe 10 yours in 2 days, on chat, plus hours talking on saturday, when they called me, and we had a bash, and eventually the lady had me make an automatic log of everything that has happened in my Pre 2, even through multiple hard resets, the data stays there, then had to send it to Palm by email, which I did, and she said she will call back sometime this week. I am anxious. It thought the profile problem might be related to the registered email address, as i think on loading profile palm checks to ensure the email address is still valid and pings it, or something, and on Thunderbird, around the same time, I was getting errors when trying to read my AOL emails, and I had to press try again, and it worked. this happened loads of times over a week. However, i changed the email to a different email, and it still did not link up for profile, but did set the new Pre 2 to the default device. I turned back to original email address.
But she did not know about the googlemail Calender not working or even showing as an available default calender...
Any Ideas.....
I have Huntingtons, and has difficulties and takes me hours to post sometimes, and leaves me unable to proof read, sometimes, so I apologize for spelling errors...
Extra info above may help others with profile recovery issues, as I await a fix, as was told, in no way, could they transfer my data and apps to a new profile, but they must fix the excisting one.

Part Good News, I got the correct profile from Pre1 transferred working to my Pre2, which is wonderful....#
However, still have issues
navigating yahoo calender web site, on amd 64bit windows 32bit firefox ie and opera (maybe Java issue... anyone else have issues accessing yahoo calender site and using it?
Googlemail calender is still duplicating up to 4 of the same calenders in Pre 2, and even on new profiles, and different profiles, it still does not allow changing to yahoo calender items, or deleting the gmail in pre 2.....
Any Ideas....:-)
