Running 2005A & 2005B version in same machine

Dear Masters,
I'd like to know, is it possible running 2 different version of SBO (2005 A & 2005 B) in the same machine? Please let me know about the work around.
Thanks and Regards,
Lailus

I had a look at SAP Notes.
You are correct with 2004 / 6.5. SAP Note 765303 says that you can run these two together, although the SBO-COMMON is a 2004 version.
However, that appears to be a special case. SAP Note 1114115 from November 2007 has only one statement - 'SAP does not support running 2 different versions of SAP Business One on the same server'. This seems to cover 2005 and 2007.
Again, my understanding is that on one machine, all B1 systems must be at the same version and patch.

Douglas

  • Debug version & Release version on same machine?

    Hi all
    I'm new to sdk. I've few questions..
    I've indesign cs3 realease version in my system. Now I need to install indesign cs3 debug version in the same. Will it make any problem??
    or can I install it in different user in the same?
    will the debug version have all features that release version has? For example, if I develope a script with debug version will it work on realease version and viceversa?
    many thanks
    THAMIL

    Once again I'm using CS4, not sure if CS3 writes user prefs in the same fashion.
    Is your concern with user saved preferences?
    I'm assumming that the location you referenced is where user preferences will be written for Indesign on a Windows machine. Since user preferences are comprised of things like color settings, font info, scripts, workspace setting etc. As you change any user stored setting via the release or debug builds both apps will write to the same prefs files. So any changes you make to prefs in the Debug version should be honored when the release version is next launched.
    There are settings specific to the debug build for tracing and so forth, but I beleive those are limited to the current session and are not saved across sessions.
    If your concerned about registration data, that info (on a Mac) is stored in the same Adobe Registration database file but each Adobe app/version has a separate entry.
    Hope that helps

  • Running Multiple JDKs on the Same Machine

    I've been developing with the 1.4.2_07 JDK, but my company is moving to the 1.5.0 JDK as the new standard for our product. Of course, we're going to continue supporting the 1.4.x JRE as a deployment platform for the near term.
    As a developer, I'm going to need to have both JDKs installed, side-by-side so that I can use both of them in my development/testing cycles. So I just downloaded and installed the 1.5.x JDK, and I defined the following environment variables:
    JAVA_HOME_1_4 = C:\j2sdk1.4.2_07
    JAVA_HOME_1_5 = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02
    JAVA_HOME = %JAVA_HOME_1_4%
    In theory, I should now be able to switch JDKs just by changing my JAVA_HOME variable to %JAVA_HOME_1_5%.
    Easy as pie.
    Unfortunately, that doesn't work, because the 1.5 JDK installs a number of registry keys which hard-code the current java version. So, even when I have JAVA_HOME set up to point to the 1.4.x JDK, running "java -version" at the commandline indicates that the 1.5 java is being called.
    I'd like to suggest to Sun that, in the future, there should be a generic, version-independent launcher that reads in the JAVA_HOME variable at runtime and calls the appropriate binaries and the appropriate runtime libraries.
    Having to futz around with the registry every time I want to switch my development environment is a big hassle.

    --BenjiSmithI've tried the same approach, but abit different
    first - deleted java.exe and javaw.exe from %SystemRoot%\system32
    Then set the following (All vars are system ones)
    JAVA_HOME=D:\sun\jdk1.5.0_04
    JAVA_HOME_1.4=D:\sun\j2sdk1.4.2_08
    JAVA_HOME_1.5=D:\sun\jdk1.5.0_04
    JAVA_HOME_BIN=%JAVA_HOME%\bin
    PATH=%JAVA_HOME_BIN%;...
    Now by switching JAVA_HOME we should get it right
    but,
    it appears that xp recognizes the new values for vars only upon rebooting.
    Also, you can see all current vars by typing set in cmd
    More over, I thought that maybe it'd work if I just simply logout/login back, and it did but strangely the var while JAVA_HOME showed a new value, JAVA_HOME_BIN had the previous one.

  • Captivate 7 with other versions on same machine

    Have a client running several versions of Adobe Captivate on a single machine including Ver 6. She would like to keep those on the machine for use with projects created on older versions. Would like to also install Captivate version 7. I am planning to install it and choose a new directory during the install. Are there any issues I should be aware of installing Ver 7 with these other versions in place?
    Thanks...

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums!
    Yes you can install  multiple version of Captivate on Single computer.
    But make sure that you also upgrade the computer according to the systems requirements of Adobe Captivate 7 so that you won't run into any memory related issues , like slow performance etc. .

  • CD's don't read on BW G3 running OSX, but do on same machine running OS 9?

    Hello. We are archiving files here in our office and we are still working on older machines. We have one BW G3 that is running OSX. We are verifying all the CDs burned correctly by inserting them in the CD drive and checking that the files are there and the CD opens, etc.
    It appears that a random selection of CDs do not want to show up on the BW G3 running OSX? But, if we take them to the BW G3 still running OS 9 as native they show up fine.
    Does anyone know why this is? We don't want to run into problems accessing our archives once we do a full upgrade to new hardware and software. Most of the CDs were burned from the computer running OSX.
    Thanks for any suggestions.
    S

    There are no well-known problems that would cause this discrepancy. OS X should read everything that OS 9 can read.
    If you are using two different Blue & White G3s, you are making some unstated assumptions: That the hardware in each Mac is identical, clean, and working correctly.
    Some very old CD drives cannot read CD-RW disks, but most have no problem with CD-R Disks. Occasionally you may find a drive that demands a slower burn speed, or a different colored dye to read reliably.
    One of your CD drives could have a dirty lens. The easiest place to start is with an Audio CD lens-cleaner disk. You can use CD/DVD Player or iTunes to run it. Several passes may be required because data drives change tracks much more quickly and may not linger on the cleaning track long enough for a good cleaning in one pass.

    Both applications (ERP 12.0.6 and ERP 12.1.3) on the apps node and
    Both ERP’s databases on the db node

    1-     Both applications (ERP 12.0.6 and ERP 12.1.3) on the apps node and
    2-     Both ERP’s databases on the db node
    two applications on one node and two databases on other node is it possible?It is possible.
    Make sure you do the following:
    - Have an OS/Update which supports both 11i/R12
    - Install all OS pre-req. software and packages as per the 11i/R12 docs
    - Install the 11i instance as per the 11i installation doc
    - Install the R12 instance as per the R12 installation doc (make sure you lay down the software in a separate ORACLE_HOME(s) than the one used by 11i instance).

  • Running SUN JRE and Microsoft VM in InternetExplorer on the same machine

    Our product needs at least Java 1.3 to run.
    One of our customers needs to run old applets which for some reason I don't know need the microsoft VM.
    Is there a way to install/run both VMs on the same machine?
    Udo

    Can they be installed - yes.
    But your code will not run in the MS VM. And if their applets won't run in your VM that means there will be two VMs running as two separate processes. So the applets will not be interacting with your code directly.

  • Oracle8i IAS9i on the same machine running RH6.2

    Hi there,
    I have Oracle8i intalled on my RH 6.2 machine. I would like to try out IAS9i. According to the installation guide, it seems that IAS9i would prefer to have its own machine. Is it possible to configure them to work together? What should be done?

    I would like to ask whether I could run another instance(another oracle 8i database ) on the same machine.

  • PeopleTools 8.43 and 8.49 can be on the same machine?

    Hello Experts,
    I have doubt about the following
    1). Can i run two PeopleTools versions on the same machine? for example if i want to run PeopleTools 8.43 and HRMS8.8 and 8.49 & HRMS9.0 the same machine?
    with two PS HOME's and 2 different databases (Database is on seperate machine)
    please share your experience / idea's.
    Thanks a lot.

    Of course, you can have many PS_HOME within different Peopletools version on same machine.
    However, on Windows workstation/server, you should be careful :
    1. with the connectid (people) user and password, it is better if they are same on all your db if you want to avoid to change them through ConfigManager
    2. with DataMover default folder, it can take the one from a previous run, regardless the version you were/are using, so it could point to an other PS_HOME than the one you want. Or set a full path directory to your INPUT/OUTPUT file, or change the windows registry (I'm doing it by cmd script)

    If you want to have only one log file for all the virtual hosts configured in your environment, you can achieve it using global properties. Instead of specifying the same Debug, WLLogFile and WLTempDir properties in each virtual host you can specify them just once in the <IfModule> tag
    Sample httpd.conf file:
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicCluster johndoe02:8005,johndoe:8006
    Debug           ON
    WLLogFile c:/tmp/global_proxy.log
    WLTempDir "c:/myTemp"
    DebugConfigInfo On
    KeepAliveEnabled ON
    KeepAliveSecs 15
    </IfModule>

  • Can Xcelsius 2008 Engage coexist on the same machine as SAP Crystal Dashboard Design?

    I still have the requirement to maintain dashboards created with Xcelsius 2008 SP5. Will the install of SAP Crystal Dashboard Design: Departmental overwrite or disable the ability to run Xcelsius 2008 on the same machine?

    Thank you for the reply. I am not sure I phrased the question very well, as I said in the post I am aware Personal Edition does not require viewing licenses. What I was asking was whether the 'internal business use only' clause in the EULA prevented dashboards built with Personal Edition from being placed on external company sites?
    If anyone could provide an answer to this it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.

  • Several Clusters on Same Machines -- Efficiently?

    We want to run several clusters on the same machines. We are not
              doing this to gain efficiency, since that will obviously suffer. But
              we would like this to be as efficient as possible.
              Briefly, this is the rationale for this setup. Each development group
              would have its own "application cluster" to run servlets, JSPs and
              EJBs. Queries to a legacy entitlements database through a stateless
              session EJB called EntitleBean determine if the user login (basic HTTP
              authentication) is enabled for the requested functionality. By
              running the EntitleBean in a separate "entitlements cluster," we can
              limit the number of connection pools to the entitlements database.
              Suppose our bank of WebLogic servers has M machines, and N application
              clusters run on those machines. Running the EntitleBean in each
              application cluster will require M*N connection pools. A separate
              entitlements cluster will require only M connection pools.
              Question: Can we get something similar to "collocation" optimization?
              I realize that we can't get the equivalence of a method call, and that
              we'll require serialization. Can we avoid a network hit? We would
              like to use a "shortest path" algorithm instead of round-robin, so
              that replica-aware remote stubs would attempt to keep a method call on
              the same machine, although in a different cluster.
              Thanks for any advise,

  • Can I have two versions of OSX running on same machine?

    Hi - since upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion recently I have run into an unexpected problem (though I'm sure there would have been a warning that I missed). Some of my older applications, such as Adobe Creative Suite version 1, no longer run with the new OS. My plan is to install an additional hard drive in my Mac Pro (2009 dual Xeon version) and go back to my original software (Tiger) and install that on the new drive, then update to Snow Leopard with that software package. I will then, hopefully, be able to install CS1 on that drive.
    Am I likely to encounter any problems doing this? I will effectively have two different OSXs running on the same machine, albeit on differnt drives.
    Thank you in anticipation,

    The old "pop the DVD in, hold down Option or Command + C and just do a clean install on your new drive doesn't cut it?
    As for SL, it has to be retail, can't be the OEM gray disc from another Mac specific model.
    First, start up your computer from the Mac OS X Install DVD.
    Insert the Mac OS X Install DVD.  After it mounts, choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu.
    Choose Startup Disk from the View menu.
    Select the Mac OS X Install DVD as the startup disk and click Restart.

    I have canon software that only works in 10.4 wheras I'm on 10.5. Initially I was thinking I could use bootcamp to install 10.4 on the same machine and run the software but then I heard about paralels and thought I might be able to do this. Can I run two different versions of mac osx on the same machine, and if so how easy is it to switch between versions?? Thank you!!

    Cool, thanks very much for the advice. If I am running 10.4 on an external is there anything I should bear in mind? Size wise what are the considerations?
    I have 10.4.11 running on a small partition on my TM drive on each of my MBPS. They were and are my Tiger backups when I first installed Leopard. They run, I update them and occasionally use them.
    Just hold down Option key on boot and the Tiger OS shows up. They are clones, created with SuperDuper. CCC works equally as well.
